My S10+ battery standby drain is horrible. I hope this can be fixed by a software update. I really hope because I love this device so so... much!!!

Have you restored your data from a Backup?
Which software do you have ASBA or ASCA?
Which version do you have Exynos or Snapdragon?

My phone when i come to low signal areas it consumed an insane amount of battery life. It drains 45% of battery life when screen off 15h with 11h in deep sleep mode, i don't know if that is normal or not but very disappointed, it happened in both ASBA and ASCA, my phone uses exynos chipset.

This will happen as your phone is constantly looking for signal, and the worse the signal is the more it consumes.

Exynos great
My exynos has great battery life with high performance mode always on 1440p... most iv got before is close to 9 hours sot... this pic would be about 8 hours soc because had 15% left

Always low signal

Yes i know it gonna consumes battery life, but 30-35% in 5 hours is way too much, i also check that cell standby only comsumed 5%-10%, so i dont know what's happened, it's definitely not happen on my previous iphone.

I saw that the my s10+ standby drain too much after the update .
I turned off everything before i slept( always on display , auto sync , even bixby routine ), turned on airplane mode and it consumed me 5-6% battery after only 6 hours....
My phone is exynos version .
Does anyone have this problem ? Please help

I've had the same issue the last couple of days after the March update. Losing between 5-8% in 7 hours with flight mode turned on. My Note 9 SD845 loses 2% in the 7hrs. I charged them both to 100% to see how much my Exynos S10+ was losing. I downloaded CPU Spy and I can see that 442MHz is on quite a bit despite restarting my phone... I'm still unclear what the issue is. I might just sell my current device and stick with my Note 9 or perhaps order the SD855 G9750 variant... Hmm

I got the solution from a twitter post, I am really sorry because I can not remember his name, The solution is Wipe Partition Cache and it works for me.

Standby drain is fine here. You can clearly see inactive periods.

Snapdragon or exynos?

Is my standby good or bad? 6% over night 9hrs. 94% left. S10+ Exynos

Wipe cache partition would solve the problems. I got this solution from a twitter post

A5 2017 amazing battery life normal?

I'm at 15% and got 8h23 SOT. Surely will hit 9h mark I assume.
4G enabled but mostly wifi, volte, Bluetooth. Watched 2 series, was on the Internet all day and some Internet radio on high quality. So no compromises.
Haven't had this much battery life with any smartphone, flagship Sony, galaxy s7 edge and oneplus 3t recently.
Anyone else have this? Didn't expect this at all..
Edit: almost 10h SOT short a few minutes. Added screenshots to show.
Yes, this is normal for this device. I'm sorry for your inconvenience. Since you're dutch, you can read this for more information on batterylife.
Well yea, will need to send it back!
"battery life too good"
Yes, it is amazing and it is normal. It seems Samsung finally put some effort into the optimization.
Samsung has nailed it this time

Mine gets as high as 4.5-5 hours of sot. 2G, full reception, data off, BT off, sync off, occasional Wifi usage, Facebook crap disabled and AOD on. quite disappointing.
Is this normal sot...after 3 days of use?

No...I dont use always on display. And my sot i about 7h after 2/3 days.

I hit the mark of 1 day and 19 hours with the first half charge, right after unboxing... Although it seems it won't repeat as my previsions are for 22 hours with 80%... Anynway, very good battery life
Look at this stats . Wifi +sync +4g allways on.
Best device i ever had regarding battery life
Battery life is simply amazing on this device... with Nougat
All sync on, wifi, BT and so on.. google services such as location history and assistant...
After 2d 4h 45m on battery and 7h 21m screen on I still have 23% battery left !
Samsung made a mistake in the design specifications of the 2017 series. They currently use a battery that uses a low-radioactive component that is superior to the standard battery but it has not been tested for the long term. just kidding It's not only the A5 also the A3 shows this kind of battery stats. Battery usage with GPS (not including wifi/cell location) is also very good from my experience with A3. But have noticed that after a week or so the battery will go down faster but am not so sure because of irregular use of chat apps running that receive messages frequently.
I'm on Marshmallow. I like to know how Nougat does in comparison
Is there still anyone who get these kind of stats in nougat? I got 6h of sot and I'm at 12%. Is this normal? Also, I woke at 17% (didn't discharge a single % overnight) but it dropped to 12% only by using fb, samsung default browser and settings...

I get similar, seems MM had bettery battery life.
Yes, A7 is champion in terms of battery life.
That's weird my A5 just got the Oreo update and now the battery drains faster than before... When I check the device maintenance I can see cell standby consumption is higher than the screen. I wiped all the data and cache, reset factory, restet network settings, disabled sync, location... and the issue remains. I don't know what to do to solve the issue and am afraid they're not going to take the problem seriously if I send it back to samsung... Anyone can relate?
It is not in a single charge but that's what I get. The stamina is still correct though so idk if it is more like a display problem or if it does show the real consumption and so the battery should last way longer.

need your opinion

Always on display will not take really any power. The a520w has an AMOLED screen, so only the pixels lit up is being used not the whole screen. I get about 2 days on one charge and I use it about 2 - 5 hours playing games and 1-3 oh YouTube. Try using an app to stop things in background.

Is this normal ?

Had this for 2 weeks basically same stats why does android take so much battery?!? Standby drain is horrible. I'm on latest update. This has been from the first day I got it.

30% is a lot.. Go for battery setup and try to find an reason (some apps maybe eat little bit more, then they should). Second problem is processor... Owners of Exynos have bigger battery usage, then Snapdragon users, that is fact. Maybe try to turn off voice activation of Bixby.

Another night, another 31% drained. From 60 to 29...
I killed all open apps before going to bed. And still...
Battery usage shows nothing. The game was played before going to bed, so it was not the caused.
This is a big disappointment.
Edit : yep, just noticed I had Bixby voice wake up enabled. Just killed it. Let's see tomorrow.
I was about to make a similar post asking for help. To me it doesn't seem right Android system is using 2-3x battery than any other app/program. And lost 13% in just one hour.
I installed CPU Spy and my Phone never ever entered Deep Sleep. 0 seconds
I've just reset all network and system settings but it seems done anything to the issue.
Really want to avoid factory resetting...
I feel I returned 10 years in time, getting back to troubleshoot deep sleep and wake locks on Android 2.0... But now on a 1K device. Shame on you, Samsung...

I have the exynos version
Running US version mine uses about 2% overnight sometimes less
Mine Exynos looks so . The Battery can better, don't know what I do wrong
I have the same results. 4hrs, sometimes barely 5hr of SOT
Android system, and idle device seems to drain too much battery ... I'm disappointed.
Yeah me too,
I see a lot of people with crazy SoTs that go beyond 7 or 8 hours. And i'm stuck here with 4 to 5 hours. I don't see why since Samsung develops its own Exynos platform. Maybe Android isn't fully optimized for Exynos ?
My Note (Exynos) use about 5% max 10% battery over night. Always on display is off and Bixby still off. 10% if everything is turn on.
Any solution to this guy's? Its driving me crazy brand new phone with huge battery drain problems...

Nope. I think it depends on the LTE band and provider. is just a guess.
I have finally fixed my problem. Reset all Network and System Settings (without factory reset), put all the settings back how I had before, and now it is going fine into Deep Sleep overnight.
Went from 31% to 5% battery drain in 8h sleep. Now its perfect.
Don't know exactly what was causing it but it must have been a bug as all the settings are exacly as I had before.

Friends, I have 5 charge cycles with this equipment, I suffer from battery drain too, does anyone know what the battery health means in the "PHONE info" for samsung APP? the Battery Health value that appears to me is 40.1%. Is my battery defective?

[HELP] Note10+ bad screen on time

As the title says... is there something wrong with my battery? I got abysmal SOT of 4hr35min on mobile/cellular data only (No WiFi). Bluetooth OFF, WQHD+, location OFF, dark mode OFF, brigtness 40% or less, Samsung Cloud, Google Photos & Google One back up & sync - all OFF,. Bixby home, bixby wake up, literally everything bixby related OFF. Wake to lift OFF, smart stay OFF. Optimized battery settings, exceptions to optimize made on gmail, whatsapp, instagram. Everything else on optimization. AoD - always on, dynamic background on home screen - yes.
Exynos
Also worth noting - after fully charging the phone, I went from 100% to 98% in like 3 minutes. I also went from 5% to 0% in a couple of minutes.
Is there something wrong with my battery? Surely 4 hrs 35min shouldn't be a norm, not even on cellular data only.
I am also having a same screen on time. My screen resolution is set to wqhd+ always, is that the reason for this? I have heard normally other guys are getting a 6 hours SOT.
Same here, hope they will fix it in one UI 2.0
Exynos or snapdragon variant ?
Sent from my SM-N9760 using Tapatalk

If the battery consumption is so high using cellular data and not with wifi, it is probably due to signal strenght, when the phone seeks the better signal, depending on your network prefernces, switches between 2g/3g/4g lte, thus using more battery, where I live, there is always high fluctuation in signal strenght, with my note 8, the batt drained faster than normal because of this, in my case I found that locking in 3g gave me better batt life, so, with my note10+ I just knew what to do, and now my batt life is good, 7~8 hrs SOT, and little more than 20hrs idle, btw, there are already some posts regarding this topic, there you will find many useful tips/advices

I keep performance mode on, 4g on all the time, max resolution and use it a lot during the day as I am a heavy user. I bought the note last week and I have managed to have minimum 7 hours screen on time which for me is fantastic as none of my previous phones could handle me that long. The max i got on the note 10+ is around 10 hours Screen on time. My version however is not the Exynos one but the Snapdragon and usually the Snapdragon proccesor manages the battery better than the Exynos one even if this year they are really close

First of all, I did a factory reset. Then, I did 100% do 0% and then charged the phone while OFF to 100% again and other time I did 100% to 0% and charged it while turning it on after couple %.
I also disabled EVERYTHING Bixby related AND I disabled Facebook running in the background.
The result are in, aaaaaaand.....
MASSIVE IMPROVEMENT!
I am now getting at least 7hrs 30mins with 70%/30% wifi/mobile data usage.
On WiFi Only, I can now get EASILY 9 hours SoT
See screenshots - #1 & #2 showing 7hrs 30mins wifi/mobile data. Screenshot #3 WiFi only, 8hrs 10mins WITH 22% battery to spare! So, easily 9 hrs SoT...

Are you on 120?
My screen on consumes too much 16% an hour.
After returning one handset to O2 thinking it was faulty because of the standby drain I got my 2nd one
A exynos chip S20.
After changing all the settings such as refresh rate, dark mode, disabled apps, sleep settings, always off, 5g ... It still drained something terrible.
I dropped from 100 to 77 percent in 1 hour, checking the battery stats there was no single app using it.
I did find that after a factory reset and manual install of apps (not smartswitch) it lasted a little longer but no way I'd get through a work day one one charge

Don't know what settings you have or what's wrong with yours, but I have the US Snapdragon S20+, and my battery is absolutely awesome, standby drain included. My settings are dark mode, hidden 96hz refresh rate, WiFi full-time (damn COVID19), optimized mode for battery, location and Bluetooth on full-time, no NFC on ever, and automatic brightness settings. Like I said, I've gone 2 full days on a charge before, but pretty much always get around 36hrs, with 9-10hrs of screen on time. I'm loving this phone ??

This is crazy figures! I don't get why Samsung are rpping Europeans off with the crappy exynos models. I have the exynos variant and need to turn aeroplane mode on overnight and get 0.4/hr drop.
Sot is usually about 8-9%/hr so from a full charge I should expect 9-10hrs SOT. I have had to fiddle with my settings a lot though.

That's issue with exynos have to do a lot of tinkering disabling apps and other stuff turning location and sync off and aod, ridiculous really, seems like snapdragon is top drawer straight out the box
I wonder how many people jumped into this thread to give a 1 star after owning the phone for less than a week. Give the phone time to learn your usage patterns, jesus christ.
dear all,
I managed to reduce the standby battery drain for Exynos.
Now if you don;t use the phone the battery won;t get consumed.
I am using Package Disabler Pro and some bloatware xml
i will create a thread here step by step how to.
cheers.
My S20+ Exynos drains about 0.3% overnight. Nothing special, wifi always on, sync on, 120 hz.
I had S10 SD version and it was draining 1.5-2% overnight on same settings
My s20 ultra exynos drains the same, ~2% overnight, but that is after ATD3 update
Always I am getting very bad results
I swithed off 5g and screen is running at 60htz
Battery drain on stand by is around 2% on wifi and around 4% if i use 4g data
Other thing that my phone is warm almost all the time.
I disabled many apps but with no improvment.
