UAG Monarch VS OtterBox Defender? - Google Pixel 3 XL Accessories

I got my pixel 3XL about a month ago and I had got the UAG monarch and I want to know if this case is better than the OtterBox defender when it comes to dropping it and their durability. I'm just really concerned because I already dropped it about four, five, six times on the cement with the case on and yes nothing happened but I'm not sure on how good the UAG monarch is versus the OtterBox defender?

otterbox vs seidio

Im looking to get another case for my evo and im stuck between the otterbox commuter and the seidio active..which one will be the better buy? i have the innocase surface II in pearl but it gets dirty to quickly, if i do decide to go with the otter is there a holster to fit?
OtterBox Rocks
Hey i have the otterbox commuter case....and its awesome, Just sucks for me a bit case i have 3 MicroSD Cards so its a bit of a pain to remove the case over and over , I however, haven't seen the seidio case at all..... I'm wondering how the defender case handles...
Seidio cases look nice but their build quality is just ****. I have gone through 3 of their Active Limited Ed. cases already. The first one had busted tabs, and the other two had paint peeling within a week. I still use it but can't in good conscience recommend it.
I have the Otterbox Commuter as well, and it's nice but not as rugged as the Seidio.
I bought the otterbox commuter and the rubber skin wasn't tight and seemed stretched out a little. So I bought the seidio innocase rugged and I love it, I have 2 sd cards and 4 batteries so long story short do you want a quality case or the abilty to access the batteries and sd cards, lol something has to give, i chose quality.

Trident Cyclops or otterbox defender

I've had a Seido Innocase II and I loved until it broke and paint started to chip. Now im looking for a heavy duty case, I looked at the ballistic HC case but heard bad things. I don't want to have to buy multiple cases just want one last purchase

I have both, the Cyclops is a FAR better case. The Defender is one of the crappiest cases that I have ever used for any phone. The Cyclops on the other hand, is awesome. Trident also has that Kraken case that looks pretty cool, I thinking about ordering it.
Well the 2 arent in the same category really. The Cyclops is comparable to the Otterbox Commuter, and the Kraken is comparable to the Defender. I've owned all 4. For me, the Cyclops wins hands down. I love the $10 holster they sell for it, and its pretty cool to be able to change the outside silicone to any one of 10 colors. I'm rocking a black/grey/ballistic green combo. looks awesome!
edit: I've also owned the Ballistic. Great case but its a TANK. Unless you work on utility poles for a living, the Cyclops is fine.
edit2: you might want to consider the Seidio Rugged (aka Platinum) since this retailer has it for $7.95!!! http://www.emtcompany.com/platinum-series-case-for-htc-evo-mobile-phones/1003917.html its $50 a best buy.
Otterbox has UNBELIEVABLE customer service though... never used the other cases but nice thing about otterbox is if anything does go wrong with the case they replace it fast no bs, 5 minute phone call and a new case is in the mail. ive always been impressed with how easy they make it and that they even guarantee a cell phone case.
I like the case from ballistic. I've gone from the seidio active, to the otterbox defender and finally the ballistic. It looks great and iso definitely a tank. I'm in construction and it's definitely taken it's share of lumps but is still going strong and scratch free.
I love my otterbox defender, only thing I dont like about it is the silicone picks up pocket lint like crazy. But it is a very durable case.
just bought the Trident Kraken for my EVO...right now I have the Otterbox defender, which I do like but it is a bit bulky, so we will see how it works out.

Slim but protected case possible?

Hey
I'm looking through a bunch of cases and I was wondering what case I should get.
Is there a case that doesn't take away that slim but has the protection of a ballistic case *doesn't have to be exact but good protection*
Thanks=))))
Casemate Tough is the case typically on my phone. It does not offer Ballistix case protection but its good and my phone geta dropped and beaten by a 2 year old. My other cases are Trident Aegis and TPU. Trident Aegis is also a good case but thicker and heavier then Casemate.

I've heard the aegis and the tough case are similar sizes. I used the casemate for a while and it's definitely one of the thicker cases.
I currently use the diztronic tpu case which is plenty for the occasional drops. How much protection do you need?

Which Rugged Case?

i need help deciding on a rugged case. i've read mixed reviews on all. my main concern is drop protection.
the lifeproof seems nice and slim, but i'm worried it wont provide enough drop protection
i currently have a otterbox defender on my razr maxx, and it is my favorite case. however, i've never dropped it, so i can't comment on the drop protection. i thought for sure it would be my go-to case for the s3, but i've read many people say that otterbox dropped the ball on the defender for the s3. stating that drops cause the screen to break and the screen protector is lifted too far from the screen. i'm aware that the silicone stretches out over time, and i'm ok with that. since otterbox has terrific customer service. is the defender really that bad of a case for the s3?
i also have a trident kraken for my maxx. it is a nice stylish case, but i never use it because it is very slippery and hard to hold. the s3 seems to have a different design that might not be so slippery. but i also haven't read as many reviews for it as some of the others.
i've always seen the griffin survivor cases in stores, but only for iphones. they look very nice and rugged, but i dont have any experience with one. it would seem to offer the same protection as the defender. one concern i have is the port covers seem loose. like they would come open every time you pulled the phone out of your pocket.
the ballistic hardcore seems to be the same design as the defender and survivor.
the otterbox armor seems like it would be a great case. but many drop tests on youtube show the case constantly coming open upon impact. and many reviews complain about sound quality.
i will probably also get a UAG case for weekends, but for now, i'm more concerned on more rugged cases.

Otterbox Armor gets my vote, it's a beast of a case. I've had the Griffin survivor and trident Kraken. Both great cases, but the trident case the plastic eventually broke on a drop, and the kickstand rattled like crazy. The Griffin survivor was a great case, but i got tired of opening a flap to take pictures.
As far as the Defender case it never impressed me and it's not dust proof.
In the end no case can protect your phone from every single drop. It comes down to luck.

Do you have problems with the sound quality with the armor? And how does the survivor compare to the defender? Since they use the same technology. The silicone looks a little beefier on the survivor.

Sound quality for me is good enough for me, you can tell a difference but i either got use to it or it went away.
The survivor and defender are no where near the same imo. The survivor's exterior has a lot more grip to it. And as i said before the defender is not dust/dirt proof, the survivor is.
The survivor is also water resistant, meaning it could take a light rain, but not a submerging.
My armor case saved my phone from a 1 story drop onto rocks, I've taken it swimming multiple times. Also it has to be the easiest case to take on and off when needed.
But every drop is different, the only thing a case will do is provide a extra barrier. If dropped just at the right angle anything can break.
People put a lot of false hope in cases and then try to blame the manufacturer when the phone breaks.

none of the above. If i needed serious drop protection again, i would go with bodyglove toughsuit case. even the slimmer version has great protection, called the shocksuit. Ive had them both
Armor case for me as well.

any experience with the other cases mentioned? or is the armor the only one you've tried? comparisons would be nice.
I have had the defender, commuter, ballistic SG MAXX, and Lifeproof as of now. Ballistic and defender did their job well but did not care for the silicone stretching. Commuter works well considering. Lifeproof has been great this far. No major tumbles so I cannot vouch for how well it stands up to concrete or asphalt in major drops but it is waterproof and sound quality is good.

To throw in one more choice for ya ... Pure gear PX260 or PX360 ,. I have a 360 and it is a BEAST. Not waterproof but built like a tank and has a place for a snap hook and is held on with screws ..

Best Case for Durability?

Hey all,
I've owned the Ballistic SG case for my One X for 16 months now, and I love it. It's insanely rugged and I love how it bounces when dropped instead of all of the impact being absorbed into the phone.
Now I'm moving onto the HTC One and I'm stuck - do I stay with Ballistic? Or do I move on to a new brand?
DURABILITY is definitely the most important feature to me as I'm ridiculously paranoid after having broken several screens - specifically having a big lip on the front side of the case makes me feel a lot better about my phone's safety. I don't care about holsters, and looks don't really matter all that much to me but it wouldn't hurt for the case to also look badass (like the UAG cases...super sexy).
Help a dude out. I'm in the realm of deciding between the Otterbox Defender vs. Ballistic SG, but if you think a case like the UAG Navigator (or your favorite case) will withstand drops from 5 feet please let me know.
THANKS
Dude, I have the Ballistic on my One and it's really great! I'd recommend it.
Otterbox defender man
No doubt, Otterbox Defender!
If you need absolute full coverage, then you need something like the Otterbox Defender. However, I have a few cases, one of them being the Speck CandyShell Grip - I dropped my phone from about four feet high on to granite tile, it literally bounced up about 6-7 inches, did a couple of rotations, then landed face down after another small bounce. Picked it up, not a scratch - not even on the case! Speck makes an excellent product. Check it out. I have the white one

UAG definitely!
I use seidio for all my devices very durable cases they have many to choose from depending on your needs the down side there expensive

Ballistic Max and Mime glass is my protection for the ONE. Feel pretty confident that the combo will handle most mishaps while looking a lot better than the Defender.
For durability and ruggedness I would say for peace of mind something like a dual layer Incipio Dual Pro, Trident Kraken or Aegis and even an Otterbox Commuter or Defender. Now if you are completely content with the UAG case durability and protection in which you should be because I swear by them also then get UAG because they have great cosmetics alongside being the best IMO for ruggedness and durability for a one piece snap on

This, and unlike the UAG the Candyshell fits so tight very little to no dust can get in under the edge and grind away at your anodized finish!
