Warning: Good Lock + Quickstar can make your status bar icons disappear - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Guides, News, & Discussion

This morning, I woke up and discovered I couldn't see the LTE, wifi or battery icons in my status bar, and the time was gone also. I went through my settings to see if showing them was optional but couldn't find anything. Here's what I found tho: I had uninstalled Good Lock but not Quickstar, which did not appear in my applications. So I reinstalled Good Lock and sure enough, it said Quickstar was installed. I uninstalled it from Good Lock, and as soon as I did that my status bar came back to normal and stayed that way after I uninstalled Good Lock.
This phone being my first Samsung, I'm not used to the Galaxy store and would've thought that Quickstar would be listed in my installed apps.
So if your status bar icons have disappeared and you can't figure out how to make them come back, it's possibly because of Good Lock and Quickstar.

Once you enable Quickstar you'll need to enable the icons you want individually, I found out once my battery icon disappeared.

you can enable the missing icons from the QuickStar Settings

Oh, ha ha. Well, I didn't know that!

Disable Battery AND Clock in Title Bar

Does anybody know a trick to disable the battery status? I want neither the clock nor the Battery symbol.
Matthias
settings->today->items-> un check them!
No no no, I know what he means, I want to get rid off them too. The top bar, I would like to only see a clock instead of those symbols!!!
Requires a registry tweak but an easy way to do it is via this app - advance config.
If you've got a home cooked ROM it might already be installed otherwise grab it from this thread
Page 2 has settings for the top/start bar.

that´s what i am searching for, but the tweak doesn´t work correct. it disturbs the antenna symbol, it cuts one half.
I got the same issue? Any solutions?

Slim 6.9: Clock and batt disappeared from status bar

Clean flashed Slim 6.9. Going through all the "Interface" settings. The battery and clock were showing initially. I belive they disappeared after I toyed with the "Auto Hide Statusbar". Now, they do not show. All that is in the top right is signal icon. If I hide date/clock and the reenable it, it does show up for a little while but does eventually go away again. Nothing will get the battery icon to return. I did a dirtly re-flash of the same Slim 6.9/Gapps and del dalvik. I don't have enough posts to put this is the dev thread so hoping to see if someone here has seen the same.

Hide icons of running apps on the status bar?

Hide icons of running apps on the status bar? Is it possible to do this without rooting? I hate having to look at the spotify icon / whatsapp desktop and other apps icons on my status bar all the time, it looks so cluttered , I KNOW spotify it's running since the music is playing google, I'm not that stupid to know it's running in the background , if I want to look at my notifications, let's say I get an email, I'll slide down the notification bar , I don't need notifications being thrown at me all the time...

Click to collapse
Does long pressing the notification in question not allow you to shut it off? Or am I misunderstanding your interpretation?
Press and hold the Settings icon Quick Settings for a while. You'll see a new section System UI Tuner, from. There you can turn on or off icon in the status bar area. You'll also now notice a wrench next to your settings icon in your quick setting area.
I hope this is what you're referring to.
You can also swipe right slowly and it will reveal a settings icon, tap there and turn off notification from just that app

If you do that you then silence all the notifications for that app , don't get me wrong I don't want to eliminate the notifications , I just want to eliminate the icons on the status bar .
Take a look at the picture I uploaded , see how the bar gets crowded with all those app icons from Spotify , the new York times apps etc ?
For what you're wanting, you'll need root.

No more Status Bar?

Hi - I just set up a new S9 (AT&T). I installed my apps and went through some out of the box software updates so its now running 8.0.
Last night I noticed that when on my homescreen my Status Bar is now gone. It comes back if I open an app or go into the Apps drawer, but I cant see it from any page on my homescreen.
I can still swipe down from the top of the screen to get to the settings shortcuts, but I cant see Notifications, Battery, Signal, etc from any homescreen pages.
Its actually making me crazy - was hoping someone might have some thoughts on how to remedy this?
Thanks.
Hi after trying all morning I finally solved this - I found a lot of other posts outside XDA struggling with this issue so just wanted to update in case anyone else is having this problem.
I was using a picture as my wallpaper. For some reason this was making the bar invisible (or somehow the color changes to blend in to the background completely?). I changed to a Samsung stock wallpaper and it was visible again. I then changed back to set my picture as the wallpaper, and now the status bar is still visible...
Whatever - dont know why, but it worked!

"Universal" G8 om Sprint just got an OS update, can no longer hide navigation bar?

"Universal" G8 om Sprint just got an OS update, can no longer hide navigation bar?
My phone, which is apparently "Universally Unlocked" and running on Sprint's network just got an OS update..... a lot of things look different, but the main thing that struck me is that I seem to no longer be able to hide the navigation bar. I find it pretty annoying when I want to use an app in full screen like I used to be able to do and now they take up less of the screen because the bar is in the way. Before I could just swipe up to bring up the bar, but all options and icons to do that seem to be gone. Anyone know if there is some option anywhere to have it hide again? Pretty ridiculous to just remove the ability to hide the bar in an update.
