Missing function: WiFi-Calling - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
i'm new to xda and need your help.
I've got the H815 EUR-version with Imperium Rom v14.2[20p] with Software V20p-EUR-xx.
Because of my bad cullular radio in my home I want to try WiFi-Calling, but there is no setting in the call-option.
There's a video on Youtube where the function is available:
youtube.com/watch?v=gvB2TZvo7jU
In the end of the video you can see the software: H81220W, MRA58K, Android 6
So it's an canadian LG G4...
Do someone of you can set up WiFi-Calling with a H815 EUR?
Is there maybe a mod or other way to include the Wifi-Calling function to my LG G4?

Your provider/carrier must support it in general .
Your contract must have it included.
The ROM must support it (so mostly only carrier ROMs will do).
It must be enabled in the ROM .
So enabling it in the ROM is just the last step here ..
If the rest of the above is yes then you can enforce that setting in the LG hidden menu but again this will not help if the rest above isn't true/possible

LGOG Video Call Option?

Hello,
I have a question where is the video call option in LG Optimus G E975 ROM, I installed the korean kdz and video call on 3G/4G option shows in the dialer and the phonebook by default but not shown in the other roms. I tried Europe open and indian kdz both not have the option. Where to find that option or if disabled how to enable it. or which other rom have that option other then korean (because alot of stupid apps there)
Screenshots attached of korean rom dialer so you guys can understand my question better

Unfortunately I think this is available only in koreea. It's carrier related.

Yeah it is carrier related that why with F180 S/L/K all rom I can't avail the video call feature of my native carrier
Native 3G video calling is available in the other countries also there should be option available with international roms but where it is that is problem.

Using Google Translate:
Improved call quality. Improved touch/text input performance. Low-light, close-up camera shooting. Improved image quality. Improved GPS stability. Google regular security updates have enhanced mobile phone security. Internet access has been improved.
---------- Post added at 09:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:46 PM ----------
Only thing I see added by the second update is "Some apps now have the ability to vibrate after ringing."
After the first update the camera was visible much better but after the second update not so good.
It sims more fluid the interface..there were an update for the home too

Probably the same, I would think. Just LG firmware update -- not Android OS updates. It's already on the latest version of Nougat. Oreo wouldn't be rolling out yet.
Got the update too. So nice to see that LG doesn't have the same ****ty deal as Huawei phones do where u need sim cards from the region it got bought to update the firmware...
Updated too.
It seems a little more responsive.
The screen is better.
So far so good
No updates to LG V30 H930 yet.. Come on LG...

Clearly their resolve crumbled in the face of me boycotting them! [emoji28]
Seriously, this was sorely needed. I had sworn off buying another LG in large part because of the lack of updates to the locked Canadian models. I would still like to see them allow bootloader unlocking of all variants, but if timely security patches start coming, I would consider them again for my next device. Good move LG [emoji106]

Seconded, we've all heard the same crap from various oem's before and none of it has been true, so I'll take this with a healthy dose of scepticism till events prove otherwise.
Read this on a couple sites yesterday and almost died of laughter!
I should have learned from the V20, but I guess I'm a slow learner. Can't wait to dump LG for good when the Pixel 3 XL comes out.
Don't hopeful. Until now, H930 and H930DS user still unknow what time they receive update Oreo.

No, because this phone didn't launch with Oreo last year. Everyone needs to forget Treble for this phone.
Treble wouldn't have any benefit anyway for him. His bootloader locked phone would still be bootloader locked. Treble is not the magic elixir to allow dev work on phones.
Treble iks to theoretically give faster updates.
For dev work, Treble only helps devs on phones that already have bootloader unlock and have methods to flash root .

I am trying to get hotspot working on Oreo.
Didn't get a chance to add apn under N so the menu is hidden. I can reset apn and see the menu for a split second so I know it is in there.
Any idea how to get it?

Yeah, I heard about this Sprint APN lockout on Oreo. It's Sprint's attempt to carrier lock down the phone even more. For editing the APN, do any of the hidden menu app still work on the Sprint phone?
See this post for the Sprint LG G4:

Go over to the gsm unlock thread. Download the hidden call menu apk. Go to the iot settings near bottom. Then LTE settings. And APN. Here u can add edit and select your apn. Cannot be done in stock settings app or reg## menus without msl. This allows for no root and no msl. Editing. Lol. About damn time we figured this out

I dont have the link right off but google hidden menu call apk not hidden call menu
Today (14th of April) will be the 92nd day since last update for the TIM H930G (same for H930 and H930DS variants).
Remember when LG announced that their amazing phone is Android Enterprise certified, that there will be 90 days between each update in worst case scenario? Oreo update in Q1 2018 ?
This is my first and last LG phone and I'm already thinking about ditching it. I'd rather flash custom ROMs but they're locking their phones like no other manufacturer.

Just received my V35 Project Fi edition

I just received my Project Fi V30. It looks like the same model as the unlocked version but I've not confirmed that with anyone since I don't think the unlocked versions outside of Project Fi have shipped yet.
Noticeable things that were easy to see right away.
1. No LG email app
2. No LG dialer, contacts, etc (google dialer, apps)
3. The LG apps I recognize are Smartworld, QuickMemo, Quick Help, Switch, Health, Smartclean
4. Only thing from project Fi is the project Fi app.
5. Always on display is a little different. The screen I use with big numbers and 2 tone colors is rearranged and the font is different
6. option for DTS X 3d Surround (along with Quad DAC as a separate option)
7. Added "wallpaper and themes" in Display options
8. renamed "Smart Settings" to "Context Awareness" in General Settings
So, pretty clean as far as bloatware goes.
Software info
Android 8.0.0
June 1 patch
build OPR1.170623.032
Software Version
V350ULM10c
There were no updates available yet in LG Bridge.
It seems like the UI is a little different than on my old tmobile v30. It is much snappier and less laggy as well. I'll have more info on battery and such once I get to use it a few days.
One thing is blatantly obvious. This is NOT a "google edition" phone like of past. It is all LG. Updates will come directly from LG and it will not be getting updates quickly...ie android 8.0.0 right now. I was hoping...maybe...but...nope.
Had to add a FINALLY!! you can adjust brightness on auto. So you can increase the brightness in a certain lighting situation while leaving it on auto. This was such a pain on my v30 because it was always too dim at night so I would have to take it off of auto mode. Thankfully it has been fixed for v35.
Here is a link for some photos from the v35 vs the v30. The plant images with Mickey mouse have AI enabled. The ones with Mickey with his hands up have AI enabled. (Open info in photos to see which camera is being used. That way you can try see which ones are better without bias) In the dark shot I could not get the V30 to enable super bright mode with AI on no matter what I tried so the picture is really dark. But it gives you an idea of how dark the room really was.

Not that I'm aware of. It is compatible with Sprint since Fi uses Sprint towers. I know they don't use GSM networks. So maybe it would work on verizon. Not sure. What about the unlocked version on Amazon/BHPhoto? Does it list Verizon or just GSM?

anyway to dump the V35 system in case someone bricks their phone?
I have my new LG v35 with Project Fi. Is there anything I can help with to get devs started on creating a way for us to remove all the LG cruft and switch to stock android? I purchased the phone from Project Fi specifically because I thought it would be stock android so currently a lot disappointed. What's a KDZ and can I help get one? Someone mentioned using the LG Mobile Switch application to do something... I'm no dev but point me in the right direction and I'll see if I can accomplish anything.

The PFi version should work with VZW as it's an unlocked phone. It supports GSM/CDMA/LTE so there should be no issue.

Yes, I can confirm that the Project Fi version of the V35 works on Verizon. I took the sim out of my S8+ and it worked in the V35 without issue and signal spy confirmed connection to VZW.
Is anyone else having trouble with WiFi? My phone will not connect to the 2.4ghz band at all. It's fine if I'm close to the router, but if I go to the next room I sometimes get disconnected because it won't switch to the 2.4ghz band. My Note 8 switches fine and always has a strong connection with both bands. So it's not a problem with my router. Does anyone know of a way to force the V35 to only use the 2.4ghz band?
Edit...Now it's working. I didn't do anything to fix it. I did get an update from at&t last night, maybe that had something to do with the wifi.

So I have the V35 from AT&T but unlocked it to use for TMobile. Is there an unlocked stock firmware I can download and use so I can get back some functionality that AT&T's crapware is depriving me?

nope. literally can't do anything with them yet but be stuck with what's on 'em.
After just one month of launching, LG starts to offer $300 off from Amazon or $300 Project Fi credit from Google, while Apple has become the first trillion dollar company.
