Rooting Xa1 Plus (G3412) - Recovery problem - Sony Xperia XA1 Questions & Answers

Hello community!!
This is my first post here ^^
So I'm trying to root my g3412. After struggling to find drivers for S1 Fastboot, I successfully unlocked my bootloader (via Flashtool) . The only thing left is to flash the TWRP recovery and root it.
But I'm experiencing some weird problems.
When I'm trying to flash the recovery using ADB everything seems ok but when i try to turn on my phone it bootloops between the "your phone cannot be trusted" message and the Sony logo. After i freaked out for a couple of hours i found out that the only way to overcome this loop is to flash a fresh stock rom via FlashTool.
I'm back at step 1 and i can't really find a way to flash the recovery so i can continue my rooting process..
Also I think i found out while searching that g3412 doesn't have a stock recovery, so i guess that has to be considered as well.
Any ideas??
Thank you all in advance!!

You better change your handset...
Well i'm sorry to say but you can't root xperia xa1 plus,. the reason is there is no working TWRP for this mobile... I've tried almost every boot img on internet, none of them worked.... you better change your handset.. as there will be no TWRP img in future...

HELP ME PLEASE ! Bricked but Fastboot mode and flash mode working.

Hello everyone here, im a noob around these parts but hope that this beautiful community might help me.
So heres the deal, my gf got an xperia m, that outta the blue started acting out, what i mean for this is, rebooting, outta nowhere and eventually a couple of days later it died.
Making my investigations to get to the problem and therefore the solution, she stated that putting it on the SUS or SONY Pc Companion didn't help at all, plus keep getting error 0x0000067 or 0x000007d5 on PC Companion.
After seeing this, she says tried to unlock the bootloader to install a CWM 6.0 for the 15.4.A.1.9 software, wich it had running, didnt got through since the moment she enter the command through fastboot to check the bootloader status throgh the command fastboot flashing get_unlock_ability but no response just stuck on three dots.
Also tried to flash through FLASHTOOL installing the drivers and everything as ive done with other decives checking everything is okay, which they are, since ive succefully recovered an brick C1904 using CWM with a previous Backup, but the tool gets stuck on flashing loader and wont give a percentage.
Tried Flashing remotely the CWM.img to the boot, but it wont flash, always failed, as for specifics about the code, If really needed ill post them on the next reply.
Hope Someone can Help me,
Regards Jmaquilon
Which error are you getting while flashing the recovery? is it something like remote command not allowed ? If it is then try to flash the recovery in the boot partition (I have done the same many time cuz there are some problem s with my current kernel)and what happens is instead of system the recovery boots up ..
If this doesnt works then try xperiafirm it may bring your phone back to life!
Hope it helps!
Just flash stock rom using flashtool software. Download the Stock Sony Xperia M Rom here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2699085 and flash it using flash mode in flashtool. Good Luck

thanks in advance
Hi,
It would be nice if you linked the exact ROM you tried to flash on you phone. It sounds like the boot.img is incorrect.
You can try flashing this kernel forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1804003 . This one is for ICs roms(4.0.x).
Or this one - for Jelly Bean versions(4.1-4.2) - forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1861970 .
All you have to do, is boot into fasboot mode and flash the given .img file as boot.img. (The difference between 480p and 720p kernels, are that 480 can't capture 720p videos, but sometimes 720p kernel doesn't work with all roms).
hi tnx for the help the rom i tried to install was cm-12-20150314-UNOFFICIAL-LegacyXperia-zeus
i think your idea would work but im unable to boot into fastboot mode as i used flashtool before and it doesnt recognise my phone anymore ( i dont know if i can use ADB as that option is available on my boot loader)
if you could provide me with a link to how to flash a new .img/rom using another way other than flash tools that would be really helpful. im sry to be such a noob, i have rooted every phone i had and never encountered this problem before and am completely stuck.
tnx again for your help
ok ignore my last msg i managed to flash the .img in fastboot no problem but now it wont let me into recovery mode so i think im stuck in some infinate boot loop no matter how many times i click volume down it just reboots after about 2 mins, anything i can do about that or am i now really bricked?
tnx again for your help

Well you could try to return to point zero by flashing your phone to stock rom and try to begin from there.
You can do that by using flashtool and downloading stock ROM from these forums.
BTW, you can enter flash mode by inserting usb cable and holding search button(i think, you can try other buttons). Your LED has to turn green, blue is fast boot.
Also if your flashtool give you errors, download earlier version (see some other threads about flashtool, there are links to older version). Maybe it doesn't recognize your phone, because of the new version, i've had problems with it too, but i had to download old version and everything started to work as expected.

T2 Ultra stuck in a bootloop after Supersu update

Hello,
My phone which is not a dual sim is stuck in a bootloop. I have rooted the phone previously then installed Supersu, however i didn't flash any recovery. About four days ago Supersu ask for an update, so i updated it. Then the app ask to reboot, after i press the reboot button then it is now stuck in a bootloop. I can't reset it now since i didn't flash any recovery inside. Is there any way to fix this now? I tried the Xperia companion software i downloaded but it could not detect my phone.
Same problem
Hi, I had the same issue with my T2 ultra.
I hope you have some backup of your datas, 'cause to solve the problem I had to make a factory reset which made me loose root, so I had to root it again. I followed this tutorial: Sony XPERIA T2 Ultra ROOT and Recovery by Jozinek.
1 hour of work and the phone is alive
After that you have to download SuperSU v. 2.79. In the specific post from Chainfire https://www.xda-developers.com/chainfire-recommends-staying-in-supersu-2-79-for-xperia-users/
I hope I've been useful and don't worry, this method is not difficult as it may seem :good:
Bye
So how can I fix it now? My phone is in the bootloop and I didn't make any backup. I was able to download the firmware from the xperia website but how can I flash that in when I don't have a recovery mode to boot in?

You have to follow this tutorial step by step which allows you to have first root and then to install a recovery:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t2-ultra/general/sony-xperia-t2-ultra-root-recovery-t3213461
First make a factory reset on your phone by opening the sim slot and push the little blue button with something not too sharp. The phone will be turned off.
Then you have to do everything that the tutorial says and the go read the second link that i gave you in the previous post.
If i suggested you this method it's because for me it worked. I'm a newbie myself and i've started some months ago so i'm not an experct but i hope i'm helping you.
If you need more let me know and i can see what i can do.
See you soon, in case
if you got no more options, just use flashtool.
the flashtool won't recognize my phone even though i did installed the drivers.
Got it! Thanks for all the help. I was flashing a wrong firmware.
no need for all that.. just downgrade to SuperSU 2.79
1. go to supersu.com download page
2. download "Recovery V2.79 Flashable.zip"
3. copy it to your SD card root
4. flash it with recovery & you are done

[Q] How to restore Xperia XA2 stock boot image?

Hi!
I have a problem with my new Sony Xperia XA2. When I got my new phone I decided to flash LineageOS 16.0 (the unofficial build from LuK1337), however the Lineage-build is not the problem. I got the problem when I tried to flash TWRP and Magisk, and I've realised that I did it too quick.
Here's what I did:
0. Unlocked bootloader
1. Booted TWRP
2. Flashed LineageOS
3. Flashed GAPPS.
4. Flashed Magisk.
So far, so good. This worked.
5. Decided to flash TWRP to get rid of the standard recovery.
6. Now both the standard recovery and TWRP seems to be gone.
Is there a way to revert to the standard recovery? I've tried to download FlashTool and XperiFirm, and I've downloaded the correct stock image for my Xperia XA2 Dual (H4113), but I cannot get it to only flash the bootloader.
My understanding is that the recovery and bootloader resides on the same partition. Is this correct?
When I try to flash the bootloader with FlashTool, I get an error stating that the device is identifying as H3113, which is the single-sim-version.
Thank you for the help!
I managed to get my phone working again by using Emma, as I had managed to soft-brick my phone. The bootloader said that the phone was corrupt, and turned off after 5 seconds. Using Emma and the bundled USB-C-USB-A-cable did the trick for me.
Now I'm going to install TWRP once more, and hopefully I'll manage it correctly this time.
My understanding is that we cannot install TWRP as a replacement recovery on this device because there is no true recovery partition. It's part of the boot partition. Hopefully someone will come along and correct me if I'm wrong.
You can install twrp on a/b devices. However, it installs to /boot. Thus every upgrade kills it. Which really sucks as lineage recovery sucks bad.

Hello,
sorry for the delay.
You can use EMMA to flash back the stock firmware, however if you don't want your data lost, use flashtool ( http://flashtool.net ) and make sure your userdata is Wipe Excluded

There's really no trick to it. Just plug the cable bundled with the phone and plug it into your PC.
My problem was that I've got a Macbook Pro that only have USB-C ports. When I tried a cable with USB-C connectors in both ends, my phone would not let me flash from my computer. When I used the bundled cable and a USB-hub it worked as it should
