I confirm. Qualcomm QC 3.0 works with A50. Probably QC 2.0 charger will also work - but have not checked
Digging further: Samsung Fast Charge and Huawei Supercharge are based upon QC 2.0 so are compatible with standard QC 3.0 for shure
This is good news as we are not stuck in Samsung expensive accessories.

How much time is need for fully charged ?

Is this aukey?? I have one, but im scared to try on my a50

I can confirm that I get fat charging with my A50 using my Huawei fast charger from my old Honor 8

Am not able to charge A50 with my 40w Huawei Supecharge that I received with Mate 20X.
The primary reason for going for A50 for my spouse was USB- C and I thought both our phones will work with single charger but doesnt seem to.
PS: Suprisingly, able to charge with my laptop 65W PD Charger

Samsung a50 charging tech is based on qualcom 2.0 technology. So even if u use a qc 3.0 charger it will do the fast charging. But the speed will be same as the samsung stock charger which comes in the box

USB 2.0? Also, what does CPDDR4 mean?

So I looked at the Note 7 highlights over at Samsung's website and saw two things that surprised me.
http://www.samsung.com/global/galaxy/galaxy-note7/
1. It says that while the phone does use USB type C, it's actually USB 2.0 and not 3.1 like many thought it would be. Didn't see anyone mention this.
2. It says the phone has 4GB of RAM, but instead of the usual LPDDR4 it says CPDDR4. A Google search doesn't bring up anything on this.
Just wanted to see what your thoughts are on this.
Yes it sucks but its True
No Usb 3.1 just 2.0
meaning no fast transfer from phone to PC
Hope they will have it in the S8
According to the website today, it WILL have 3.1.

Yeah, just read the spec sheet for US models and it states USB 3.1

Hi guys,
So it appears that the global variant is indeed 2.0 while the U.S. variant is 3.1. Here's a comparison straight from Samsung's spec sheets.

A bit depressing to see it only has 2.0, I transfer a lot of phones on and off my phone.
Damn. What a shame.
Damn, so there is no practical use from that USB-C... maybe at night it will be easier to connect it to charge.

At least internationally there isn't much. But the charging block for the Note 7 is reported to not be the same as the s7, or the Note 5. So maybe a stronger charging current?!?

Could be usb-c tipe should provide a litlle bit faster charging. Changing cables even with provided adapter will be a pain in the ass. Decided even to buy the wireless fast charger and always have my wall charger in the bag. The stupid part is that I will have to buy a old adaptive fast charger with micro usb to power the wireless charger or maybe Samsung is releasing the one with usb-c port soon? Soon I will feel like a iPhoner that can't borrow a damn charger from a friend and to say my phone have usb tybe c ant it's only 2.0 what... stupid sammy they have always to let you down

The charging will be faster. The Note7 has a new adaptive charger that's 12V/2.1A vs. the Note5 and S7-series that used 9V/1.2A. Quick Charge 2.0 supports up to 12V/2A and has no USB-C requirement. Who knows what Samsung's interpretation of USB-C is. We'll have to wait for sites like Anandtech and GSMArena to do their full reviews to find out what Samsung's implementation does and doesn't bring.

How to change the Max 1.5 A (non dash charging) speed?

So I was wondering, When I dont use My dash charger the OP3 only charges with a maximum of 1.5A eventhough im using the Dash cable.
Is there a way to up this number to like 2.0A/2.4A with a custom kernel or something in that matter?

No, if you're not using both dash charger and cable you're stuck at standard 1.5A.
Sent from my OnePlus 3 using Tapatalk
1.5A is limit of most cables so.. u can change it with the chance of a melting cable.
I would be quite unwise to go higher.
I have blitzwolf USB c cables that can handle up to 3 amps

Then idk..
While it can likely be done from the kernel side, I would advise against it. Some of the OnePlus 3 charging circuit has been offloaded to the Dash charging brick so we don't know how the phone/battery would react to a higher wattage standard charge. Could damage the board/battery or cause a fire.

Exactly - this is the reason OP3 charges fast only with DASH and nothing else (except VOOC which is the same thing).
It doesn't have the necessary internals to handle other fast charging solutions. And everything above 1.5A at 5V is considered fast charging.
If it could be done safely, someone would do it already; the device has been out for months and there are many custom kernels and ROMs.
We have enough burning phones already *cough*Note7*cough*, please don't try to detonate our beloved OnePlus 3 ?

USB-C can support far more (As is the case with the Nexus 5X/6P doing 3A) so the cable is not the issue.
the fast charging circuitry being offloaded to the charger itself is likely the main reason the phone can't do more than 1.5A, and if so, SW mods can't change that since it's a HW capability the OP3 lacks.
Honestly, there was no reason for this phone to have USB-C at all in terms of charging speed - this could have been done the same with microUSB.

Where to buy Official LG G6 travel charger with type C usb cable

I was wondering if anyone knows where I can buy and Official LG G6 travel charger with the type C USB cable. My charger has a model number of MCS-H06WP. I looked on LG's website but couldn't find where to buy extra chargers. Also Amazon and ebay don't appear to have them. Please help.
Any quality QC 3.0 charged will work. So will QC 2.0 but won't charge as fast.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I can also recommend dodocool. Had a QC 3.0 for 9 months and it does the job.
Has anyone actually tried using a QC 3.0 charger with a G6 to see if they get quick charging? I have two and none of them quick charge the G6. A QC 2.0 charger does work to fast charge the phone, and I believe that's what the phone comes with.

No....LG G6 bundled charger which comes out of the box...is a QC2.0 charger...because the max output is 9V. For QC3.0...the output is 12V

The interwebs would seem to disagree as the specs put maximum voltage upwards of 20v for both versions. Voltage isn't as important as amperage, in this case any way. QC 2.0 and 3.0 share similar voltage ranges, but the difference being 3.0 has smaller "step" ranges. So either will actually have variable outputs in voltage and amperage, but 3.0 gives the phone more control for better efficiency (i.e heat control).
Doesn't necessarily prove or disprove the charger version, but rather just pointing it out.
I would be inclined to agree it is a QC 2.0 based of the charger, being seemingly identical to the 2.0 charger from my LG G5, but the model number is slightly different.
Of course, it's disappointing the phone would not release with QC 3.0 if that's the case since it touted 3.0 compatibility, but I have a marked 3.0 charger that does not register 2.0 on the phone, either, so I wonder. I guess it's not that big an issue, especially since there is supposedly little difference in charge times between 2.0 and 3.0.

First off, let me say that I know nothing of what comes with the Nexus. I do, however, know enough about chargers to say this:
Yes, any charger should work as long as you have the right cable to fit the phone. If it's not QC certified, of course, it'll charge slower, and if it's amperage is low it'll be even slower, but the Nexus is a new enough phone it shouldn't be too slow.
A variety of LG G6 chargers and cables are available at amazon. You can also look at amazon, 6feet long usb 2.0 type c to a charging cables are available.

from my understanding it'll charge, but not at the fast or quick charge rates. pixel phones are supposedly following the USB-IF standards, so for faster charging, you'll want a USB power delivery power source. I believe I read a post by Benson Leung on g+ that the pixel will get the best charge from 18W chargers (6 volt, 3 amps?)

This is correct, Samsung uses the proprietary QC fast charging that doesn't follow the spec. Google uses PD. You'd need a PD charger to fast charge the phone.
charging yes
fast charging NO
you will need PD charger for that
PD for fast charge. Sammy won't work

18W in the PDrev2 spec is 9v2a as it does not allow >3 amps until you hit the 20v source power.

Found out today that QC 4 charges are PD compatible, so maybe?

Question What charging protocol does it use?

Mines in the mail, I got it from Ali, gsmarena (I think it was gmsarena...) says its QC3 AND PD at 33w.
Fairly certain the bundled charger won't natively work in my countries power points even though it will come with an adapter.
Can anyone tell.me what specific charging protocols it uses, is QC3, QC4, FC2 or PD? I wanna get a single port wall wart that does the top speed charge to leave in my man bag
Hey. According to SP870 spec it's QC 4+. When I was using the charger from the set Ampere showed me around 5800mA input.

Looks like, but I'm not an expert. Have not tested many adapters. I know one thing about it though. Huawei adapters didn't fit my Poco F1 in the past (they were too strong maybe, or had another standard).

To achieve full charing speed you need mi turbo capable charger. You will see mi turbo instead of quick charge icon (attached ss) I tried official xiaomi powerbank 3 pro 45w pd using type c to type c (100w capable cable) it doesn't show mi turbo. So it's not full speed.
Update you guys it's using 11v3a I think, it's going to be harder to find one. Their faster charger uses 20v3.25a if not mistaken i seen a Huawei powerbank that has this. Can it give out mi turbo I don't know. I attach spec of their 55/65w charger and Huawei powerbank spec. I am atm looking for a mi turbo capable powerbank. Apologies in advanced for any mistake.
