Official Exynos Battery Life Thread - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Guides, News, & Discussion

S10+ with newest ASCA Firmware, fresh Odin Flash:
(No Energy saving mode, manual brightness, all Google Syncs activated)
Pretty great I'd say (and still 51% battery left).

Adaptive battery, AOD off (until they fix pocket detection), brightness auto, all synces up.

I'll just use the same record screens from my guide, since with a battery life like this I don't even bother doing full charges anymore.
1440p, Optimal power as default + adaptive battery saving, sync on, screen on automatic brightness but at 50% most of the time, LTE for a few minutes but mostly Wifi on that day.

It's usually 12-13h on about 8h a day of max brightness and LTE, but I can't find those screenshots anymore.
My new charging pattern is pretty much 50-80% every day to keep it healthy until I get a new phone in 2-3 years or whenever something with double the performance comes out, until then this thing should guarantee at least 12h per charge.

What is your google play services batt consumption? It took around 3%, is it alot?

Currently best result on my Exynos so far.
- WQHD+
- Manual brightness set to 50%
- Optimized mode and adaptive battery ON
- Adaptive powersaving was OFF
- Night mode, mobile data, Bluetooth and location ON
- WiFi ON only at home.
- Sync OFF.

Almost 6 hours SOT at 50%

Ok new record (for me at least)
I think 13 hours SOT is possible.

Post your HOX battery life here

this is a thread that gather all the info from forumer as u can see a lot of forum member post about bad batterylife(yes its a lot,i know it)
that means the battery life is one of concern of people.
so i started a thread to gather all the info from member , maybe we find someway to work out for longer the bl of our devices, and move along with ur portable charger or battery all time
before smartphone , all using 2G, after the 3G came , i see the batterylife drain significantly , so we're here to compare the 2G,3G and 4G battertlife
Follow this
1.ROM
2.kernel
3.2G,3G and 4G / country / telco
4.CPU clockspeed
5.BatteryLife
6.average rating 10/10
7.usage
8.screentime
0.add on tweaks or app to maintain the BatteryLife
0.remark on how it drains
please do share all ur experience, and all based on 2G,3G and 4G not wifi user
in XDA , u share ur 1 minutes , uncountable members' gain
so come'on dont be shy :)

You should add to the list : screen time
For what? this is getting funny. Another "my battery is bad" thread? Keep in mind that this is quad core HD smartphone not nokia E51 ! Your phone good score should be 2 DAYS! And when in heavy use, it will be couple of hours! this not gonna change!

just do some comparison, differ country 3G line will affect the BL too, just want know which one better.i didnt complaint my battery is bad. when u see a lot of forum member post about this , that means the battery life is one of concern of people.

It looks like you dont know anything about how 3G works and why it may affect BL. Its all about range, protocol switching, and BTS placement.
Keep in mind, this is SMARTPHONE with QUAD+1 CORES and HD display. The good battery life score with average usage is 1 DAY. with heavy usage is couple of H. If you want it to work a week without charge, get nokia E51.
Poeple need to understand that there is no such topic as bad battery life in such monsutros smartphone. Live with it or leave it.
Well I fully charged my HOX on about 20:00 and in the morning when I wake up (12:00- I'm a heavy sleeper ) , It still shows 100% of battery! That's quite outstanding, isn't it?

Yeah after a few days struggling with a battery draining issue I managed to solve it and now my HOX has an amazing battery life Even though it is still facing some battery draining with the camera (Not to mention the scratched camera lens). It lasts 2-3 days with normal gaming. 5-6 days of normal usage (without gaming)

Well I updated the software build to the latest. Than I do a factory reset. After that, I use my phone normally until it shows me the warning of "the battery is lowerthab 10%", I turn off my phone completely then charge it for 8 -> 12 hours then turn it on and use it normally again. Repeat those steps 3-4 times and your HOX's battery life should be fine

[Q] Is there ANY way to save battery without rooting my device?

Hi XDA members and developers. I just got my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 International Version. 3 weeks old currently. I don't want to void any warranty itself. Is there any way folks? I lose 2% and hour just standby. and 10% and hour in Wi-Fi use.
WiFi - Moderate Use
SMS - Moderate Use
Cellular Data - OFF and GSM Only mode
PowerSaving Mode
Sync Off
Carrier - Sun Cellular Philippines
I posted my current device condition and status and downloaded application.
Please help me. I believe that SGN2 is a beast when it comes to battery.
Or If root is the solution. Give me tips.
There is nothing wrong i can see in your image 1. You have kept screen on almost half the time. it was even not fully charged (appr 95%) and still after 2 hrs of use it is about 83%. 12 % use with nearly 1 hr screen on time is normal when you have poor network.
Look to network, hardly you had 5-10 min good network, otherwise all the time you have it poor coverage, which is most juice drainer.
Thanks dr. Ketan

Dr. Ketan thanks for that advice. I tried other carrier and it is now good and mostly green network. You're the best. I read all your posts and it is very helpful. A thanks meter to you. If ever I will root I will look to your post in How to root Galaxy note 2. Thank the doctor.
And last question. How about in my image 2 which is the stats of wakelock detector? Is that normal? the 1013? It bothers me a lot every time I look to wakelock. I know rooting can improve battery life but it's not my option right now. Thanks!!

Battery all good on my end ??

Roughly, this.
But basically the average SoT on this phone should be around 6-12 hours depends on the day situation
I got two whatsapp account & line account constanly active,
But i do not snapchating, facebooking nor instalive.
I read news (even my nova launcher usage is come from its google feed companion app, the amount of time i used reading articles there would reflect as nova usage) and manga a lot when i got free time. Gaming and streaming are casual through the day.
My problem is mostly to do with Podcast Republic and the kinda bad wifi that I'm connecting to during the working hours. When the phone is connected to a wifi, it will try to download the podcast that I subscribes to. Due to how flakey the wifi is, it constantly disconnect and reconnect, which means the program continuously tried to download and failed. I somehow managed to drain the battery down to 20% by the end of one day of doing not much. This is prior to February patch. I've done the patch for a couple of days, and do not notice any worse performance.

note 10 + Battery Issues / Not satisfied

Hi dear Team
I got my 10 plus (5g) although 3 uk is still to deliver it in order to see the speeds.
I am completely in love with the phone, for sure.
However, my problem is the battery.
Previous device was Mate 20 pro, with a battery that literally could last the full day , this one not really.
while on Mate 20 pro I would go home after 14h , with still 20% , now If I am lucky, It will have 3%
Different screen yeah, but it still feels bad.
Quality is (default) so not even enjoying the full resolution out of it.
Could you help me or tell me your experience as well?
I remember the times with my S8 that while on Roaming, I had to charge it 2 or even 3 times during the day
Thanks!

Disably all power management including Samsung's and especially any carrier apps.
-Untoggle any power saving settings first.-
Disable all cloud apps. Knox junk.
Disable carrier, Samsung and Google feedback trash.
All Bixby except Bixby vision and Bixby vision framework which the cam needs.
Otherwise you need to sort through, learn which ones you want/use, and how they interact. Some bloatware you probably use and want to keep.
Some like Playstore I keep disabled unless I need it.
Each set up is different... play with it.
Do you have Bixby wake up word on?
It used 37 % of battery yesterday. Took me a week to figure this out as the battery was not doing well for me either.
Disable Bixby entirely!!

Don't compare it to the Mate 20 Pro. That phone is just in a league of its own. The P30 Pro battery is even better so don't expect anything close to that as these phones are known for insane battery life.
Are you using snapdragon or Exynos?
If you are using Exynos then you won't get what the Snapdragon variant offers. Snapdragon has better battery life and this is the problem with Samsung. They should make all their phones using snapdragon chips
Hello,
Was wondering if someone has had the same experience with their note 10+.
I got my device on the 22nd of Aug and since day 1 the battery has always been showing 99% almost immediately after disconnecting from the charger.
But after that, it discharges normally. Have had no issues with SOT as well.
This wasnt the case with my note 8 and note 9. They used to stay on 100% for a while after disconnecting from the charger.
But was wondering if anyone else has had the same experience with their Note 10+.
Thank you.

Hi all.

Battery drain, overnight is about 20%. I have disabled 5G, but not much improvement. Is this a defective unit? I'm on Vodafone. I'm still in return window.
Thanks for the advice

It's well known but may have been fixed, only other thing I could think of is if he used to smart switch to set up the phone
@skinza
It has been fixed in recent updates.
However drain is still significant but not caused by WiFi now.
As you can see Android+Kernel drains over 30% of my battery. Is it normal in recent Android versions?

I gave up a 2-month fight with S22 yesterday. I won't do a tester for Samsung for so much money. I returned to the S21U and today I am as happy with the battery life as ever!

Because I'm the one who made the report, they found the issue using my report and told me they were gonna fix it next update or should I say "Fixed normally in a next update whose date is not specified" this is word for word what they told me

7-9 hrs SOT? Jesus. How on earth are you getting that. I too am on S22 SD variant. I consider myself lucky if I make it beyond 3 hours SOT

Tbh it kind of came out of know where
I updated to the xxv Vietnamese firmware for may update as it said it had stability fixes (AVDF) where as mine xsa Australia (AVDD) said only security, I flashed my csc though
Did a battery recalibration and it hit abother level
Adaptive battery on
All apps to sleep except fb, messenger, and emails etc
Got rid of all the bloatware I don't need
Used the galaxy app booster after updating
Manual brightness at roughly 50%
Adaptive display but 120 - 30hz instead of 48
A heap of bixby routines so I can keep location bt and nfc off till needed etc
Galaxy max hz app so phone sleeps as soon as it's off as well as changing Adaptive display while powersaving mode but changed it so 96hz - 30
I'm contemplating rooting but scared I'm gonna lose my good battery life after resetting
