Best MicroSD Card? - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Accessories

I used to have a Sandisk "Extreme PLUS" in my S7 Edge, just wondering if it is worth it or if it the S10 will benefit at all with the higher tier (and of course more expensive) Sandisk "Extreme PRO"?

Amazon recently had awesome sales of their Samsung Evo line...I picked up a 256gb for 40 bucks...

I'm using a SanDisk Extreme Pro in my S10 Plus right now. Is it a benefit, that I'm not sure about.
I'm only using it because I have four of them for my GoPro Hero 7 Black it didn't feel like buying yet another SD card at the moment.

16/32gb microsd - where to buy?

I have a HTC Desire and im after a larger storage than 4gb included.
I'm a bit wary of class 2 cards in fear they will be very slow. And I'm also wary of fake cards on ebay for example.
Also does class 4 vs 6 make a large difference?
I want a 32gb if its the right price (and not class 2?) but im not sure where to buy from. The site must be able to ship to new zealand.
Thanks.
I know that Verizon is supposed to be selling 32GB microSD cards, not sure about the class but I don't think their class 2. There normally $150 but have been on sale for $99 at least 1 or 2 times. So even if it is a class 2, still better than the $199 price for the Sandisk 32gb one on Amazon. Either way good luck, I hope you find the card your looking for!

I bought a 32gb from http://www.jr.com.
Seen the verbatim 32gb mSD class6 at amazon for 89$/free SH, and seen the 16gb's from 25-60 depending on brand/speed
Hey just wondering, where are you getting info on the micro SD cards? All I have found so far says 2 is faster than 4. I'm not saying I'm right your wrong but I just purchased a class2 today under that assumption.

lol. that is regular sd card not micro sd.
There is not a 32gb class 6 micro sd card on the market as of today.
Yeah, class 4 is about twice as fast as class 2 cards. I would say the best price/speed ratio right now is the Kingston 16GB Class 4 MicroSD card. Best places to buy micro sd cards online would be Amazon and Newegg. There's hardly any bull**** with the products on those 2 sites.
Amazon UK - You've now got 32 gb class 6 micro sdhc at £88.00 link class 4 at £85 link . I just ordered a class 2 for £64.49 including postage - link
Hope it helps.
Uhmm, a bit of confusion in my mind, wich class is enought for my Galaxy S?
The 'class' rating on the card can basically be thought of as the tested minimum transfer speed (sustained - not random. A random write can far exceed the class rating).
class 2 (~1Mb /s)
class 4 (~2Mb /s)
class 6 (~3Mb /s)
and the highest I've seen is class 10 (~4Mb /s) which I doubt any of us are going to buy.
So far as I know, there is NO CLASS 8 - don't buy one, it's probably a fake. By the way those ratings are in mega bytes not mega bits if you need the bit speed just multiply by 8.
Now if you're ever told 2 is faster than 4 you can laugh in their face - when (dealing with technology) has a lower number ever been better???

I meant to answer this earlier but any class would be more than enough for the galaxy s. The reason you want a higher transfer speed is that loading 8, 16, or 32 GB of data can take forever depending on the type and amount of data. As far as the phone is concerned, a class 2 is fast enough for a swap file, video/movie, or music.

I agree, the phone is going to max out before the card does.
Hey gang. I am new here. I just purchased a 32gb card class 2 for my Samsung Vibrant. I noticed it handles just about everything except recording hd video directly to the card. The first few seconds during playback show as rainbow colored garbled pixels then clears up to play clearly. Reduce the recording resolution of the video and it plays fine. Record hd video to phone then transfer to card and it plays fine. It is a brand new card (kingston) with next to no data on it so far. Anyone else having this issue? I am thinking I need a card with a higher class rating.....

To record HD video smoothly you are gonna need at-least a class 4 and maybe a class 6. Class 2 doesnt write fast enough to keep up, thats why you had the pixelation distortion.
As far as a 32gb class 6 card, I am afraid we are out of luck until these cards come onto the market. Samsung has been working on a new card I heard.
Hoever, newegg does have class 4 cards in 32 gb for around 100 bucks.
Hope this helps.
UPDATE
there is a class 6 32 gig card I found at amazon but it is a "Komputerbay" brand so buyer beware.

Who knows good places to buy memory cards in EU?
Hello. On ebay 32 gb class 10 is maximum 50 dollars, 16 gb is max 27 dollars. But i dont trust if they are real or fake. You know, they make Samsung's, sandisks fake and no clue to understand if it is like that.
So, where is best to buy, cheap and safe? Amazon, ebay?
And what brand, kingston Samsung, Sandisk?

SanDisk 32GB micro SD card for £26.50 on Amazon

Just found this on Amazon UK, £26.50 for 32GB micro sd card, sold directly by amazon and not 3rd party.
I ordered 2, even though I already have a 32GB card in the note. One as a xmas gift and another for my other device.
which grade it is?for my limited knowledge it matters ...

Class 4, I bought one two Weeks ago,a bargain if you ask me.the 64GB ones are a bit out of my price bracket.
class 4 too slow, need at least a class 6 or 10.
Class 4 is fine for most of usege I think, unless you need to transfer large amount of files regularly. I shot a 20 mins 1080p video on to class 4 sd card without any problems.
I recently brought a 32gb Samsung Class 10 microsd for £39.99 from 7dayshop plus 2% cashback from Quidco, pretty good deal for a branded card.

I took the same...50 euros... It's nice and fast!!!
Been using the Sandisk 32GB from Amazon uk for a couple of weeks now and speed wise it's fine. Agree with OP - bit of a bargain currently compared to the 64GB one.
On a related note - I've been using the Kies Air app just to transfer large files from my desktop to the card on the Note, and it seems amazingly fast. Not benchmarked it, but it certainly seems a lot quicker than via USB in MTP mode.
I bought 32GB sandisk class 4 from amazon uk as well and I think it's prety good for the price of £26, write speed is 4MB/s , read is 17.4MB/s
cheers
I got the sandisk class 4 32gb for £17.99 at play.com but it's back up to £26 now.

I just looked into them - but they are class 6's right?
I don't really need all that protection - it stays in my phone and is a happy bunny in there, if it gets water on it, then my £500 phone goes with it.
I' more interested in speeds - and I need nothing more than 16GB.
Have enough space with 8GB INT + 16GB EXT on my S1 - I;ll have an additional free 8GB with the S3. I don't see me filling it up any time soon.
Could you please tell me, speed only wise, the difference between the SDXC's and the SDHC's?
Considering I don't need to spend £45 on an microSD card - I'de be looking at the 16GB variants which in sandisk's case are SDHC's , equally on par with the Samsung cards.
Only difference is, the samsung ones are class 10 and the sandisk ones are class 6.
Am I wrong?
The class system is the mimimum speed at which they operate are expected to. The Sandisk one is class 10 and you will find Sandisk cards outperform their class specification almost all the time anyway.

No it isn't.
Only the 64GB model, the SDXC is a class 10, the other models, the lower space models, like the 32gb and 16gb are class 6 and denoted as SDHC
And I'm on about the 64GB model and have always been in this thread...!

I ordered this one and have just had an email from Amazon that it is due to be despatched on 17 May. A little more expensive than Play but should definitely have it in time and I have an Amazon gift certificate to use up.
---------- Post added at 04:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:03 PM ----------
I have just noticed that the Amazon one is called Sandisk Ultra but the Play one is called Sandisk Mobile Ultra and specifically mentions Android. Are these the same item or are their two versions of the 64Gb SDXC card?
Anyone know?

samsung is a class 10, sandisk a class 6.
I never was a SD card pro, until now
Upgraded from a 8GB Class 2 on my SGS to a Class 10 32GB from Samsung. More space for MKV movies ;]
Mine arrived class 10 "extreme speed"
I'll post speeds when I get back to the UK in around a week or so.

What micro sd card are you using

Hey everyone I'm curious what the best micro sd card sound be used with the note 4. I've been using the same class 10 64gb ultra San disk since the note 2. Was thinking of getting the 64gb samsung pro at best buy. Any thoughts?

I like San Disk better but Samsung is good as well. I myself use San Disk. I'm thinking of getting a new back up San Disk when they are on sale for Black Friday. Last year I got a San Disk class 10 32Gb micro sd for $10.
I'm using the SanDisk microsd 128gb ultra Plus
I've been using SanDisk 64gb cards, every single one died in 6-12 month of use. (first sign is corrupted photos)
Bought 64gb Samsung and haven't lost a single file in last 12 month.
Two friends of mine also have exact same issues with corrupted photos with their SanDisk cards. However SanDisk warranty is great, simply send it to them (you can actually physically drill a hole in it to protect your privacy, as the rep suggested to a friend of mine) and they send you back a new one.
Samsung EVO, never had any issues.. I always get Best buy match amazon's price

Does anyone get the lag during wake with their microSD? I have a ScanDisk 32 GB card that's a few years old and when it's in my phone takes a few seconds to respond to the home button to wake. As soon as I take the SD card out, it wakes instantaneously.

Scandisk ultra vs Scandisk extreme

I'm planning to buy a micro sd card for my HTC One m8, but i doubt which one i should buy, the Scandisk Ultra 64GB or the Scandisk Extreme 64Gb. The Extreme has a nice write/read speed, but i'm wondering if the HTC One m8 is capable of handeling these kind of speeds?
Are there users who have experience with these SD cards?

This is more important to look at versus the "Ultra" versus "Extreme" labeling. For the most part, it seems that Ultra are Class 10 (but with some Class 6?). While the Extreme cards have the additional class ratings of U1 and U3.
http://www.sandisk.com/products/memory-cards/microsd/
Anything Class 10 (not sure about Class 6?) is fine on the M8. My understanding the most intensive use of the SD would be recording video or Zoe. I have a Class 10 Ultra, with no hiccups at all doing either video or Zoe.
After verifying the class, I would just buy the cheaper one (Ultra). Buying the Extreme is probably just going to yield the same performance for the same price.
Although its not to say some future devices might take advantage of faster transfer speeds. But as these devices often have to be marketed towards the masses (and not the early adopters of "cutting edge" accessories), I don't see U1 or U3 being required for anything on a smartphone anytime soon. And probably not worth the cost difference ($18 US or 50% increase) to do such "future proofing".
I know this is an old thread but does the HTC one m8 support micro sd cards u1 and U3 speed class? Is there any difference in performance?
Cheers
