Firmware Download Mode (not bootloader ) - Google Pixel 2 XL Questions & Answers

Has anyone seen this on the Pixel?
I get this, when I turn off the phone and press volume up (only) then plug in the cable and get to this Download Mode that I has never seen on a Pixel. I always use bootloader to flash.

Yeah, it's been noted a while back. Unfortunately it is of no use to us unless you could get factory signed firmware from google, and then have the proper interface with which to install it. Some folks were messing with it in late 2017 to see if a root exploit could be found for the Verizon variant by installing it, however, it never came to fruition.

Thought that I would mess around with it.
It would be nice to have a different way to flash a firmware just in case the other method doesn't work.
Thanks

LG H815 Bluetooth won't turn on

I've recently returned to stock ROM due to the camera issues on any custom ROM for the LG G4.
I've now ran in to a problem where my Bluetooth won't activate, I activate through settings, the button flips to the right as if it goes to activate but switch doesn't turn dark grey and it stays that way.

Going to another screen and coming back to settings shows that Bluetooth is switched off.
I've got a logcat dump but I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking for.

Many thanks!

then its sounds like a hardware problem.. sorry.
Fix
Do a full wipe.
Flash the stock rom via twrp (20d prerooted).
And then flash stock rom via LGUP or install any other custom rom and it should work. I had this problem many times and this method always worked for me

Phone stuck on boot screen, bootloader fails

I have my cousin's phone right here - just yesterday he tried to update to Lollipop. He was on stock TouchWiz, no root or anything of the sort and installed the update.
Now, if I try to turn on the phone, all I get is this screen and it just stays there forever:

If I try to boot into the bootloader, all I get is this: https://goo.gl/photos/WBSAcHhALQ9Jmz2n9
I really don't know what I would do here - can you do anything once your bootloader is f*ed up?
If it helps, the phone's model is SM-N7505
Yes, the same issue happened with me today on Note3 Neo. I rebooted the phone and it stuck on the same place. Checked in local phone repairing shop unable to make hard reset. They are suspecting of hardware issue. What could be the coz of this?

How would I do that without being able to access the bootloader? I haven't done much with Samsung devices yet, only with my HTC phones. I've heard of the name ODIN though... Are there any tutorials you can recommend?
You don't need bootloader to flash stock rom via Odin, you only need to access Download mode (vol. down+home+lock). You can look up tutorials on YT. Just type "How to flash stock Samsung rom using Odin". Hope that helps somehow

BestBuy fawking rocks i467

Found the right best buy employee. She had this working in an hour 0
Took the 4.4.2 update and it went to crap.
Stuck on download or connect ti kies page
You're stuck on this right? A couple of questions then.
Have you rooted it at all in the past?
Have you at any point installed a different custom rom?
This should be able to work for you.

Yes to previous root but in an attempt to recover any system files it now says custom firmware below the stock and binary section of download mode. Recovery screen no longer exists.

Took the 4.4.2 update.
Rooted same day.
Phone was stable for 2 or 3 days and accidentally got left on. Since then it's only showed a connect to kies screen.
Tried original kies
Kies3
Sidesync
And emailed corporate US, China, and Japan asking for help and/or md5 and no one replies
Willng to pay upfront just to show how serious i am about the $100. If it doesn't get resolved in the time agreed apon I'll simply ask for a refund
Bestbuy fixed it. Took 4 visits and 3 different employees but it's going now
Any way to create the md5 file they used to repair this? I'd like to share the heck out of it in hopes of helping others with stuck devices.

Can I Flash my LG G5 LS992 Sprint (Demo) Phone?

Hi:
I flashed a Samsung phone a few years ago so I am a little familiar on how to do this. I have had my LG G5 LS992 Sprint (DEMO) phone for about 2.5 year and just recently it started getting hot (sometimes) for some unknown reason... it is not the battery. I performed a factory reset and no change. So before I trash the phone for a hardware failure I thought it best to flash the OS and see if that fixes it.
I have tried every LG Flash utility I can find and they all fail. The LG Mobile Support Tool (LGMST) gives this error message:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Is this truly why I cannot flash the phone using any flash tool? I`m not looking for an upgrade, just a re-load of the latest firmware that I have. During flash attempts the phone is in Firmware Update mode, developer options are enabled, Enable OEM unlock is enabled and USB debugging is on. USB communications is set to MTP. It is running Android 7.0 Kernel 3.18.31 Software version LS992ZVF. Again, this is a "DEMO" phone if that makes a difference.
IN the LGMST if I choose the option of "Upgrade Recovery" the LGMST actually downloads a firmware image but fails when it tries to load it to the phone. It seems the phone has a built in flash-block by any method other than OTA. The phone is not active with any carrier so the OTA Firmware load method is not an option.
If anyone has insights as to what is going on I would sure like to know what they are. If I have to trash the phone I will.
Thanks,
Tom

Bricked TCL Alcatel 1x 5059x

So, I really wanted to get the phone rooted, and I couldn't do it without a recovery, because I can't find the firmware for it no matter what, there is only firmware for 5059d, so when I flashed TWRP for 5059d, it was asking for a password, but I didn't have one. I made one, but TWRP didn't let me mount internal storage. I tried factory reset and it made it even worse, it showed me this image

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I tried factory reset but didn't help, then I tried to flash 5059d stock recovery, it worked, but now it does not even want to boot into system, I have tried Wipe data/Factory reset, didn't help. I am stuck now. I did try to flash stock firmware for 5059d, but I can't do it for some reason, SP flashtool throws me some ERROR : STATUS_BROM_CMD_FAIL /0xC0060005) error. I really don't know what to do now, if someone knows to help me, it would be preety cool . This is not my main phone, but I really want to get it fixed. Screw rooting now.

Look at this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...rom-a-5059d-to-unbrick.4598953/#post-88676529
May be worth a shot. If I were you I'd first try normally just plugging the usb cable in while the phone is off, and if it doesn't work, take it apart, unplug the battery, and then plug it in
