Forget Energy ring

Nah I wouldn't don't touch anything remotely related to Chainfire.
Let Samsung implement it.

Works the bomb, has battery optimization options as well... Sorry you don't like his work... I love this. Don't think Sammy is gonna come out with it at this point. They have been talking out of their A S S since the S10 came out about this option... Maybe in a long long time....

Holey light is the best one from chainfire he's a grate developer and a asset to xda community, its plain and simple with minimal drain unlike others , support his grate work !!

I think it's comparing two different things, despite the boombastic title of this thread. Why forget Energy Ring? It is a battery indicator, if you need that better not forget that app. Chainfires app is very advanced and well developed, but serves a different purpose, it reacts to apps notifications that try to trigger the LED.

He's an asset but not to any community, you shouldn't think he does this for pure boredom or internet appreciation, he's hasn't always been very transparent about his apps.
Besides that problem, the app itself has limited functions and everyone who tested it reported noticeable drain.
Samsung should implement it because they have full access to the system and their solution shouldn't need hacks(like faking the lock screen) to work, it seems stupid for them to waste the chance of using the cutout for notifications after teasing it for so long.

I agree they should implement notifications but will they? , edge lighting notifications already present not that it works like
Battery drain ? Doesn't even register any on mine

BOOOO, @Chainfire has made more strides and implications than you obviously know. He's made things possible over the years that NO ONE can do! You speak your mind that's the 5th amendment, but you arare TROLLING BS. Sorry sad but true. You dont want to utilize his implementations and knowledge cause he's "bored or not transparent" LMFAO, that's your prerogative, there is NO battery drain and since your SO Obsessed with that of course you haven't even tried it. BTW the implementation of the lockscreen and AOD function perfectly... Samsung sucked the bag on this and you shun upon @Chainfire. Lol have fun optimizing and not utilizing the true battery life of this phone disabling all these common features. that make this device great and I I will not even consider or respond to your silly posts lol:laugh: bye bye

I read ridiculously stupid posts almost every day on XDA but yours is by far the dumbest wall of text coming from a senselessly triggered unrelated person I've ever seen.
You even brought some followers with you to like your comment, very nice but that's just silly.
I personally couldn't care less about Chainfire or his work and I have no reason to hate him either, simply no reasons for me to lick arses around like you just did.
@topjohnwu is both a better Dev and a more honest member, if you really want to worship anyone then he's the first man to deserve that.
And no, the guide doesn't involve disabling any "common features", whatever you meant with that, it's all about introducing common sense in power management, every paragraph is optional and unrelated to the other, it doesn't involve root or damage to the device in any way.

Hold your horses ppl, i think both Chainfire and topjohnwu are great members of this community.
There is absolutely no reason to pick one over another.
I simply do not allow bashing or downplaying any of them!
So please play nice shall we?! :good:

I'm an S10+ owner. I use these particular forums every day as an S10+ owner. And also as a user of the app mentioned in the OP.
And also as a moderator of the forums.
That's how it's related to me.
OP just got excited about coming across the app, and wanted to point it out to others. This thread did no harm. While comments like yours do.

I'd say you can continue moderating your own Reddit or 4Chan threads, you're clearly not doing your job here.
There's already a topic on this in Themes, Apps and Mods, no reason for this thread here to exist, even worse now that it's filled of rude triggered comments, Chainfire fanboys and "stupid ****" like your unnecessary intervention, pathetic.

Thank you system is unbalanced

The "thank you" system currently seems to be unbalanced. The problem is, users who make up cool stuff that isn't actually tested are getting voted quickly (without question), because many of them act as though they were properly tested in the past (but haven't). There is no means to revoke such "thanks", and users who repeatedly make up crap, are receiving numerous thanks. It's also quite easy to accidentally click the thanks button (as no confirmation is required). At the very least, we SHOULD be able to revoke "thanks". That way if someone is thanked, but are later proved to be making stuff up, at least users can revoke their thanks.
Ideally, we need an indicator that CAN become negative. Because there are currently quite a few users out there posting complete crap, which newbies will thank them for (because some of them are speaking with such authority, and claiming "that they proved it earlier", that they get praised for nothing.
If information accuracy is important on XDA, this needs fixing. At least a way to request citation, or references to claims being made would be nice.
+1
I've on many occasions pressed the "Thanks" button by mistake when I meant to press the quote button.
We need a thanks mod installed that can also revoke given thanks aswell as a confirmation.
i think a confirmation, when thanking someone is a good idea, but not revoking thanks, this could be used as a form of bullying or harrasment.

it's happened on other message boards who allowed Thanks/UN-thanks. Someone will say something that rubs someone wrong and then that other person will unthank every post until it's a large negative number giving the illusion that they shouldn't be heard.
I use the thanks button as an anti-clutter device in threads at times. I'll give thanks on posts that I agree with so I don't give a redundant and uninformative post with a quote and +1. Just clutters things up IMO.
Perhaps just change the name to "I like this" or something.

Because he's been on the internet for more than 1 hour. un-thanks, as he has said, could indeed cause some serious problems.
But I do agree that that Thanks button is easy to hit. This has been brought to the attention of the people upstairs and they are trying to work out a solution.
Yep. You can use the old XDA style if you want to try and avoid it.
I had to block the thanks button via my adblocker, as it is right were I am used to seeing the edit button on each post, so it's too easy to tap when going to edit something.
We do need a nice way though to vote posts as unproven.. Not sure about other forums, but there are a huge percentage of posts on i9000 which are total bs being presented as fact, our untested.. It's ruining the quality if xda and mods aren't reacting, or requiring they prove there claims. There are even known repeat offenders Who seem to like all the thanks they are getting. Harassment can be stopped by limiting it to 2 thanks/fiction credits per user. That also stops gangs of purple teaming up and boosting each others stats to make themselves seem more credible

This seems like an insane solution.
I agree that there shouldn't be an unthanks button in the sense that you can make the post seem negative - but what about the ability to remove thanks?
I have wanted to quote posts and hit 'Thanks' by accident on several occasions, thanking posts that really don't deserve to be thanked. Other forums that have the thanks button allow you to "remove" your thanks - in case you changed your mind, or thanked the post by accident.
I like the concept of thanking posts, it just seems poorly implemented on xda-devs - growing pains I'm sure, I just hope that it keeps evolving - the current system IMHO is broken.
...Thanks!

I did a few because of the stuff DamianGTO was saying, and yet, nothing ever changed. You need to make it part of the rules, that posts might be deleted if they are presented as factual nature, yet are unproven, and the poster REFUSES to change it to present it as opinion.

Be best to just leave it alone, doncha think?
One of the excuses for closing it down was due to it not being for a particular dev but just in general. I agree there was some minor bickering going on but the main reason for that thread should have prevailed over the few arguments that took place.
There was obviously a lot of interest based on the amount of money that was raised and it is unfortunate that doesn't matter here.
I guess if someone wanted to start another bounty thread up and say it is for team Viper to deliver ICS to the E4GT then that would abide to the XDA rules...

I don't know what the continued disagreement is about...
It's been shown before that bounty threads don't work.
It would be more effective to get everyone's money together and buy a phone outright for developers like Rootzwiki does.
Most developers don't do this for any sort of monetary gain, providing different models allows development across even more phones.

The only problem with people purchasing a phone for a dev is at that point they feel like the dev will owe them something and would expect them to put in all the hours until they get whatever it is the people want working.
If the dev decided he didn't want to put the time in to get the work done, I think the people who purchased the phone would get pretty annoyed and would have a pretty valid argument I think.
At this point, who would you buy a phone for that can honestly say I can produce ICS for the ET4G? If someone can actually make that claim, I think people would do it but I do not know who that person would be.
I believe the CM team already has the phone so I would guess they are working on CM9 for us. At least that is what I think I heard, someone correct me if I am wrong.

There isn't a perfect method for anything.
However, the purchasing of phones for developers just seems like a better strategy.
I've read multiple tweets by several different developers that show they're more interested in that than bounties or small donations.
I think it would be better for the community if XDA embraced this idea and allowed people to donate to a fund that would essentially buy phones for devs.
Thread was closed due to the trolls and drama. Just like 50% of the other threads on E4GT forum...

Yeah things have definitely gotten out of hand. Looks like Viper's ICS thread in the general section is headed the same way with things so much off topic lately. People can't let anything go. When they argue once, they just got to keep dragging it on for some reason.
It was a stupid concept overall. That's why it's gone.

i couldnt agree more my man. in the evo days which was not that long ago for me this arguing and *****ing just was not at the level it in here. im not sure why people see the need to **** on everything they see and then pick out some one whom to have a lengthy argument with on the thread. they should just pm each other and have all these ***** fests with them selfs so we wont have too see it all and have it over all through out a entire thread take up several pages worth. its no wonder when people new to xda come in here and dont read the thread and ask repeat questions all the time. i bet if people just stuck to asking legit questions and raising legit concerns that the threads would be 50% or more smaller and be packed just full of use full information that would cause a lot of news to spend the time reading without wading through **** soup trying to find a answer for there problems. im glad Jerdog goes through threads and cleans up a ton of crappy posts to make the ones of importance easier to get to. xda needs to come up with a anti crappy post software to detect bull **** and stop the person from being able to post out there but hole. lol ok i feel better now

It might have something to do with the OP spamming the board every day with links to his pay site, and creating a new thread every day. Just doesn't sit well with a lot of folks.
Seems kind of immature. If the OP is violating site rules, report him to the mods. If he's not, either shut up and color or lobby for a change to the rules so as to bring him into the wrong. I appreciate greatly that a lot of mods, etc., are offered here for free, but I don't think every mod has to be free, and, in fact, the OP is offering a free mod in addition to linking to his pay site.

Thank you. I am not trying to make a huge profit with my paid mods. Just enough to be able to keep on creating them. I am not sure what any complaints are about. I do not feel like I am breaking any rules at all.
I am posting a quality mod for multiple roms completely free of charge. Yes, I have a link to my site, but it is in my signature and at no time am I charging for anything in the forum nor promoting any specific paid mod. I really don't see how this doesn't sit well with some people.
As for different posts, I am releasing different mods which may make my post become very clustered. Not sure how seeing a free mod almost every day is annoying. I apologize for any offense to anyone. I really am just trying to provide quality mods and help people make their phones look as nice as possible.

Some constructive criticism- Not my intent to hate on you for free mods. Maybe instead of a new thread every day, create one thread for your mods and update it whenever you want. Those who like your mods will know to star the thread and come back to it whenever they wish. As for the fuzzy graphics, you might consider using vector images as opposed to raster so they don't pixelate. Not condescending at all, just hopefully helpful criticism.

It would b more profitable if these where universal mods like the ones from droidpirate

I know on Codename, you can just set the color to whatever. So why is this MOD necessary?

any chance the mods can loosen up a little bit

I see alot of theads being closed constantly, kinda hampers freedom of speach. Please dont ban me, I just think you guys need to step back and take a breather sometimes before jumping on the close button.
All this time could be put into making my LIVE wallpaper switching program, I have money and google. But I would rather pay than google how to script that out.
Most of the thread being closed have dedicated threads in the stickies sections.
Why waste space and time? I mean I think you could go through and count the number of Apple vs. Samsung threads that have been closed, you'd need more then 2 hands. Same with LTE 4G.

umm..1st ..huh????
and 2nd...these boards are hugeeeeee...no need to waste bandwidth because someone asks a question that is answered in the thread directly below the new 1 they just made....
Personally I like that they lock them and have them consolidated as a sticky rather than seeing the same thread fifty times in a row

I feel like the thank button is making this like yahoo answers, people just saying what they think people want to hear.

Pretty sure the people who are complaining about LTE and getting raged at everything Apple vs Samsung are the ones that need to step back and take a breather.

The thank button is there intended to show appreciation for actually helping someone with a problem / offering sound advice. even if someone says someone otherwise and it had value for some reason or other to a person,t hey can show it.
I was getting a hand-job off my new girlfriend when I asked, "How are you so good at this?" "Years of practice," she said. "Bit of a player in your day?" I laughed. "No," she replied, "my dad had no arms."

Yes, some moderators can come off as arrogant. I can see their frustration as the threads get bogged down with the same questions over and over again. Although, they need to accept their position as moderator and not allow their frustrations to spew onto others. Lesson... Read, read, read... Your question has been answered 99% of the time. Especially in development threads. The same question asked repeatedly can slow down development, because instead of working on improving the device, they have to answer the same questions 50 times.

Official XDA Forum rules

Know them, follow them. They are in place for good reasons and frankly, IMO i think most forums could be moderated much heavier. The fact is, 4 million users cannot all be moderated so we just appreciate the work we get from our mods, regardless.

I wrote '****' on my son's forehead while he was sleeping the night before his birthday.

Is it just me or is K perry a dog. I guess the appeal is shes just ugly enough men think they got a shot at her, which makes her more attractive in their minds? Id rather get hep from Pam Anderson any day of the week.

I like katy for her music
Like Omggzz its soo awesome
And her lyrics are AAAmazing
"do you ever feel like a plastic bag, drifting through the wind, wanting to start again.
do you ever feel, feel so paper thin, like a house of cards, one blow from caving in."
Like totally.
They're merely pushing all the talk/threads to the apple vs Samsung hub thread. Would you rather have that, or an ocean of apple vs Samsung threads flooding the first two pages

Question What happend to Raghu varma and moto g60/g40 development?

Hi everyone.
I just noticed that currently there's just one developer (Raghu varma) who's developing for our Hanoip devices; last month i noticed that his XDA threads had been closed by his own request. I searched a little more, and i noticed that many of his other development threads from other devices were also closed (by his request i guess)
Does this means that development for our device are kind of abandoned?
Also, there's a telegram group that publish his roms (and any other from this device, if any) and there aren't new posts since august 27.
Does anyone knows anything? :'s
I don't know, I'm using aosp13 and there are basically no bugs
i've found this,
sad

So...one guy in one device forum...made him stop all development for all devices? Sounds a bit extreme, but...I gotta say, I kinda understand where is he coming from with all this.
Hardware is expensive. Even building on a Google virtual machine costs money. And when you're building multiple ROMs for multiple devices, that means lots and lots of TBs of storage, and a pretty beefy computer so you can finish all that work preferably before New Year's.
Also, I know this kind of people. People who love to just complain about everything. I see them everywhere. And it drives me crazy. It's like nothing is good enough for them. They keep complaining and demanding stuff. And they tend to forget all the work and all the time that goes into this. They just don't appreciate it. I mean, it's not all about the money. Although, as I said, hardware is expensive, and...you do need to eat, once in a while. So...a little something would be really appreciated. But when you're doing it for free, and you don't even get a thank you; instead, you only see complaints and requests and people demanding things to be done in a certain way, in a certain time...you get sick of it pretty fast.
People like this don't care enough to see the good in anything. Everything is trash, everything is not worth anything (even when you get it for free!), so...yeah. The rest of the post has been removed (and I'm sure it was for a good reason), but I can imagine what was probably there before.
So I kinda understand his decision. Development is not easy. And it can be expensive, if you want hardware. So...yeah, when you see people like that who are just not ok with anything, you kinda wanna give up on everything and move on. Cause you feel like nothing is worth your time more than your own life and your own peace of mind.

The post has been closed, and the bluetooth of that rom can only be paired and cannot be connected to use and the android auto cannot be initialized. I think this may be related to the bluetooth failure. . . . . Well if it weren't for these two questions I think it's pretty good. . . . . Pity

Well, in fact, I used three roms made by him. Among them, los does not have its own Google suite, which does not meet Google's requirements, so it can't run Android auto. However, aosp and pe come with Android auto and Google suite. but apparently they face the same bug there must be a bug somewhere and i will have to go back to the official rom to get me to use android auto

To be honest there is nothing to hide but ultimately the background music with hate is just making me more headache to deal with these few haters. Even though if you look in to my works from last 3 years to till date. I am following my protocol with proper terms & conditions. So just dealing with few new haters in a positive way. On top of it i don't even care about other developers unless they do something to me or some friendship from long but ultimately if you look in to his posts, he himself posting all drama . So better he should surrender with his own scrap. I am out from this so kindly from now i request XDA moderators to ban all these story writers who post racism/criticism/nepotism stories.
By the way the Kang word doesn't even fit to me because ultimately according to GPL my kernel source is always publicly available and you can take that and share to XDA DRT team. Iam ready for it. Most importantly i already told to everyone in all places( inside & outside XDA )as well "if anyone have issues with authorship then come to me, will review and proceed accordingly but if i identify the commit is fishy then i will discard on face" but ultimately few knew only creating drama.
Thanks for your time moderator.
Cheers
because one useless guy there complain about bugs.... so simple
