No more transparent menu for Zenfone 5z? - Asus Zenfone 5Z Questions & Answers

Hello,
Did Asus remove the ability to make the App Menu background transparent in order to see the Home Screen wallpaper?
Zenfone 2 and Zenfone 3 Deluxe had this, but I can't find any setting for Zenfone 5z to set the App Menu transparency in order to see the wallpaper even if I'm not on the Home Screen.
Any way to bring it back if it was removed? I'm on Android Pie, Zen UI 5.5, latest firmware.
Kind regards.

Hello,
Thank you for the fast reply to the thread.
My app tray isn't transparent and I can't find a way to make it transparent. In the older Zen UI, you could go to Preferences and there was an option there to make it transparent.
However, I can't find such an option on Zen UI 5.5 on Zenfone 5z. Did the location of the transparency setting change maybe?

Try the following steps:
Long press on home screen > Wallpaper > Wallpaper option icon > Effects > Blur > Slide down the scale to 0%
Note : You will have to select the wallpaper first and then apply the above mentioned settings before actually applying the wallpaper.
Also refer the screenshots.

Tried the steps, but it seems to only change it on the Home Screen or Lock Screen.
I had them set to None before and if I set them to Blur and then change it to 0%, after clicking on Apply it gets changed back to None.

Changing Home screen grid?

Hi all
Is it possible to change the home screen grid of the Galaxy S to more than 4x4 items? with changing the DPI setting, everything is smaller but the grid stays the same! All widgets look very stupid! Small OK, but really far away from one another! Can this be changed somewhere?
change the launcher...
with the launcherpro (or ADWlauncher?) you can choose a 5x5 grid, for example
Or try out "Mulitcon Widget" free in the market...

Hi!
Well, You can change the icons by going to themes>customize current theme>scroll down go to icons >select icons of desired theme
:highfive:
There have been a few threads about this already.

It's not about icons background which you can change by theme changing. He is asking about menu background. Just click on setting and see there is white background. How to change it to black or grey?
To change colour settings:
From the homescreen, scroll right and tap Settings.
Tap Advanced settings.
Tap Accessibility.
You can choose: Colour inversion, where the colours and shades on your display will be shown in the opposite way. Colour correction, which allows you to customise the colour of your screen.
The short answer is: No you cannot. Unless you have a device with AMOLED screen.
If you do have AMOLED device, then you can change to "Dark mode" under battery saving.

[Q] Cannot set lock screen wallpaper

Hi there everyone - I am using CM11 (Snapshot 11) on my GT-I9190
My problem is that I cannot change my lock screen wallpaper, other than via theming (built-in CM theme engine).
I cannot find the option in /settings/personalisation/lock screen/set lockscreen wallpaper
Is there something I can do to bring back the option?
If possible I would like a live wallpaper to be able to be on my lock screen. I know i have done it before (on the same ROM)
go to settings > Themes and choose lock screen wallpaper. In the options below u will find 'clear' option with 'X' symbol.
Use that to clear the lock screen wallpaper set by ur current them.
Now u can set any wallpaper/live wp via home screen settings or gallery.
I found the option that you talked about. it seems to have done nothing... no option in gallery to set wallpaper

Lock Screen and notch notifications Issue On Honor 9n 4/64gb

How should i get the Notifications on the Lock screen and app ICONS on the Notch Bar, Tried everything but nothing is working... !!
If you want notification on lock screen stay on default theme i.e. Fantasy theme.
If you want to change theme, apply new theme then goto theme > me > customise and tap lock screen style and select magazine unlock.
You applied new theme fully with default lock screen.

It's pretty simple,
For notifications on Lock screen:
Settings/Security & Privacy/Face unlock/ DESELECT "Smart Lock Screen Notification"
For app icon on notch bar:
Settings/Apps & Notifications/Notification &Status bar/Notification method/ CHOOSE "Icons"?
Just turn off the smart notification!

All you need to do is just turn off the "Smart Notifictions" is the setting menu. If you are unable to find the option then in settings menu in search bar just search for the Smart notification and then turn it off. You'll then get all the notifications on the lockscreen on the statusbar as well.

status missing from home

I'm using the nova 7 launcher. my status bar on top of my screen goes missing when I go to home screen.
picture one is my home screen.
picture two is my recently apps.
How do I get my status bar in my home screen? thank you
Do you have dark icons turned on?
Try opening Nova setting / Look and Feel / Turn off "Dark icons" under Notification settings.
Or there in this section is also option to show status bar, make sure it's on.
