step-by-step how to install the MIUI 10 - PIE without losing the data? - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Questions & Answers

Can anyone provide a step-by-step how to install the MIUI 10 - PIE without losing the data?
Each one I ask passes me different information and I can not come up with a solution.
I am using MIUI 8.1 and I have installed Recovery Oragen Fox 9.0.1. What do I have to do to install MIUI-PIE now?
If I want to go back to MIUI-OREO, what do I have to do?
Thank you.

Download xiaomi.eu rom, delete everything besides internal storage, flash xiaomi.eu zip, and boom miui Android 9
Also, if you want to go back you will have to flash global 10.2.2 via xiaomi flash tool

use a previous version of orangefox one for oreo. i beleive 9.0.1 has pie support. if you use this youll end up in fastboot screen.
so use oreo twrp not new ones that support miui pie..
follow rom installation then flash with oreo support twrp. when it boots. then install now orangefox with miui pie support. follow instructions and flash.
to go back you need a fastboot rom and mi flash.. as long as you use same ARB use masik xiaomi.eu they are firmware less.

How to install update on rooted phone ?

Hello.
I just rooted my redmi note 5 whyred. I use the stable global miuu 9.6.4.0.
I had to unlock the anti roll back (4) with the "toolkit flasher" then twrp and no-verity and magisk.
everything works perfectly.
I like the miui interface. When will miui 10 be released, how should I update it? via twrp? via the miui update interface?
and which version should use? a version with arb stock? a version without arb?
Thank you for your help and have a good day

I do not necessarily look for updates by OTA. I just want to know which rom (xiaomi stock rom ? with or without ARB ) to choose to not overwrite my boot and my recovery. And how to update ? ( via twrp? via the miui update interface? )
Thank you and have a nice day

Pixel experience rom nt installing on Redmi note 5 pro which is running on beta pie

Currently my redmi note 5 pro is on miui beta pie build.... When im trying to install pixel experience rom with twrp it showing errors and the rom is not getting installed....
Previously when my phone is running on oreo based miui i didnt faced any problem while installing.
Please tell me how to install pixel experience in rom...
I also could not install the rom pixel by TWRP in miui 10 beta foot. Now I'm back to stable, can I?
I just installed PE(Pie FW) yesterday with orangefox from MIUI Pie Beta, CAF version. OfficialTwrp is not completely supporting Pie Roms so use orangefox or use modified TWRP which supports Pie.
I'm using OrangeFox-R9.0-2-whyred-MIUI-Pie which works perfectly fine Pie FW & don't use it on Oreo FW, there's a seperate one for Oreo.

get PIE TWRP recovery.
boot into Fastboot mode.
boot into PIE recovery using "fastboot boot TWRP-Name.img" in cmd.
Format data.
boot into Fastboot mode again.
again boot into PIE recovery using Fastboot Command "fastboot boot TWRP-Name.img".
If you want to install Latest PE then grab PIE FW.
OR
If you want to install Older version PE then grab Oreo FW.
Flash FW.
Flash Rom.
Wipe Cache/Dalvik.
Reboot.

Question Is MIUI 12.5 enhanced worth it?

I am currently using Mi 11X (aliothin) running on Pixel Experience. The rom is pretty smooth, but is still a bit buggy at places and lacks stock features like the camera, dolby, memc etc. Recently, Xiaomi has been rolling out the 12.5 enhanced edition globally for alioth devices, which supposedly should be very smooth, with great battery life. Can you comment on this based on your experience?
Can you give me a link to that enhanced edition? I have been using Xiaomi.eu Custom ROM with Root, its ok. I would prefer Vanilla Android, but I need some Stock features, like MIUI Dolby Atmos and the camera-app
I have been trying to install it on my Poco F3. I have watched the YouTube videos by Munchy, but I can't get it to work by update or flashing in twrp. Guess I will have to wait until it rolls out to me.

I read in the changelog of the stable beta 12.5.3 india and global that it is the Enhanced version. I don't flash it because I still have locked bootloader and my region is EEA. However being a beta I don't know if it works well ... I would wait otherwise you can try it in preview on xiaomi.eu.

You can only flash with TWRP or recovery stock. "Mi flash" flashes only fastboot roms and 12.5.3. global is not yet available in fastboot.
But I don't know if the flash of a beta works well.
If you do, let us know how it went.
Good flash ...
If anyone download, does this finally have performance mode toggle inside battery?

The Recovery ZIP you have to flash with TWRP. You can only Mi Flash with Fastboot ROMs, not Recovery ones.

I don't like the answers you've got... It should be possible to flash via miui directly . That's the best way if possible as you will avoid all the potential bugs and slowdowns from the buggy twrps we have....
Open settings , about phone , open updates and tap on the center of the screen on the picture above where it says 12.5 lots of times just like how you open developer options - you have to click like 5-10 times idk....
Afterwards it will say additional options unlocked , click on top right menu , click on choose update package and point it towards the miui download.
It should work...

Tried it now and unless ur on global rom it automatically fails the check , on poco f3 even if u are on global rom it biches about closed beta and doesn't instal... mi11 should be able to install based on yt...
Nebrassy twrp gives error 7 but vasi twrp gives no error and installs without issues - flash reboot to bootloader , boot twrp by cmd and wipe data. Only after all this boot system.
I'll try to install official way asap but for now it looks like it's doing alright.
Performance mode is there - so to answer original question YES. It's more than worth to install enhanced edition. For me it's a must
edit: Might also work regardless of recovery being twrp as it installs while phone is booted up , upon reboot it should replace twrp w stock recovery but idk if there will be any ilent bugs from doing it like that... I prefer flashing clean rom first then flashing anything else afterwards

I imagined that with the traditional method it would not work due to verification, because after this post I read that the beta is intended for those who are part of the beta test program with their account.
I also figured that the stock flash would overwrite the twrp.
I am glad that the rollout of the enhanced version has begun, thanks for your valuable information regarding twrp.
My f3 has less than 48 hours to unlock the bootloader and I can't wait to try new roms. If the fastboot version is released in these two days I try to flash with miflash.

IDK, but after installing the latest OTA update ( 12.5.3.0) Enhanced Version,
1: My device reboots randomly, sometimes boots into fastboot mode.
2: No noticeable change in battery performance.
3: Themes & Icons Packs won't work properly.
4: Cant choose to re-install the same OTA from the update section.
5: Fixed bugs related to Haptics & Launcher.
Overall, No noticeable improvement in end-user experience.

Your phone was born with the global?

The best way is to flash the stock with miflash. (Remember to select the checkbox at the bottom right on clean-all, do not flash with clean and lock otherwise lock the bootloader. To some he sent the phone in brick just this forgetfulness) I strongly advise against using twrp to flash the stock!

I am using xiaomi.eu at the moment.
So, xiaomi.eu is a custom rom that takes Chinese stock as a basis and adapts it to global use, like adding Google services, translations for many languages and removing all Chinese apps. I prefer it to the global stock because being based on the chinese stock it has the fastest updates and functions that xiaomi puts only in the chinese rom. Also because the global roms is developed by poco So not directly from xiaomi and it is not said that they include all the features that xiaomi includes on the Chinese stock.

Right now I'm crdroid 7.11 android 11 with twrp installed. When looking at the rom files for EU I've noticed that they have some versions that look like this xiaomi.eu_multi_HMK40_POCOF3_21.10.27_v12-12-fastboot.zip and than ones that look like this

What's the difference? And if I wanted to flash EU with Twrp from crdroid could I? Could I also just flash back to crdroid if I wanted to also? Thanks

The high is stable android 11 and can only be flashed via twrp.
I don't know if it works if the flashi from crdroid, I have not tried, it might or might not, at most if it doesn't work you install the stock with miflash and the flashi from there ...

YES
But bootloader will remain unlocked.
If you want it locked, like virgin phone, you must use a called fastboot rom via MIFLASH tool.
Select the right rom version at XIAOMI ROm download site.
Flash it first without locking, boot your phone (you don't have to configure it, even you shouldn't because of incoming reset), and if all is good, flash it once again with locking bootloader.

Question Xiaomi EU to Official Miui

I am currently running Xiaomi Eu version 13.0.9 stable with twrp 3.6.2_12-pocof3_v6.3_a12.
I have issues with this build and I noticed lots of reports with latest Xiaomi EU updates having many bugs so don't really want to update.
Can I switch without data loss to official Miui? (my bank is annoying dont want to go through hassle of phoning them to re setup)
thanks in advance

Only if you flash the same version or higher.
I just ran the latest weekly and it works like a charm , your twrp should be 3.7 skkkk and you can install miui 14 recovery global through twrp but I would suggest a format and not a dirty flash since your going from a china rom to a global have funnnn!
There are 2 TWRP(SKK):
1/twrp-3.7.0_12-v7.2_A12-alioth
2/twrp-3.7.0_12-v7.2_A13-alioth
His system is currently in A12, he can continue with version 3.6.2 12 or update it to 3.7.A12 and flash an A13 recovery rom.
Or use Miflash *** and lock the bootloader, which will avoid rooting + magisk to have the playstore certified.
***Erases your data and only if not K40.

Like you want.
Won't re-lock and you will need to install TWRP A13 after flash.
I'd reckon you try a fresh install on Xiaomi.EU's latest rom first before flashing to the Global version.
Most bugs and glitches are fixed with a fresh install of Xiaomi.EU.
By fresh install I mean use XiaoMiFlash (Fastboot) to the latest official China stable rom (14.0.5.0), then wipe all via TWRP and then Fastboot flash the latest Xiaomi.EU rom (14.0.5.0).
For me; Global rom is too bloat, has too many features missing and less smooth versus Xiaomi.EU's rom.

Not much use since for a first installation you must format the data with the Twrp or use the first install.bat script included in the folder extracted from the zip.
Right, my bad. Clean install is the way to go though, Devs at Xiaomi.EU always recommended this to me versus dirty flash.
I clean flash with every major update, except from 12 to 12.5 (no Android change) with Xiaomi.EU's roms.

Yep, for the change of Miui or Android version, it is preferable to do a clean flash or mandatory in the event of a downgrade (weekly to stable).
