Not sure about sd card classes, but I have Samsung 128gb Evo pro and it averages around 80mb read and 20 mb write.

It seems to be slowed down by the card reader quite a bit, Androbench has sequential read/write values of 80MB/s and 30MB/s, which roughly matches the report above

For day to day use, you will see no difference on Class 6 or 10 ... if you plan to copy/move large files or music files on a regular basis, then maybe a little ... Will definitely not affect any performance like Camera app, etc.
And I still prefer 32GB Class 10 for now.

there's no such thing as too large of a mem card,
if u have the money then go for the 64gb C10
Does the Note come with a card already installed? I just ordered this morning but have 32Gb SanDisk. I was going to get 64Gb SanDisk and leave 32Gb in my Motorola Photon. If Note comes with card already installed, if lesser I will put that in Photon and sell it

Class 6 and Class 10 write speed in Note 2 won't be a big difference.
I found Note 2's external memory controller write speed capped at around 10-11MB/s
But for read speed, it will be a BIG difference.
I am using Samsung 64GB UHS-I Pro micro SD.
Having like 55MB+/sec read speed.
with my old Lexar 32GB Class 10 only got 13MB/s read speed.
So, if you concern of read speed, get fastest card you can afford.
if your main concern is write speed, get a class 6 or class 10 would be fine.
And don't get SanDisk ultra. it's known to have problem with Note 2.

That suck's for a $299.00 high end phone? even a 16Gb would have been better than nothing and they go for $15.00! Oh well......

How much for that card? and I have NEVER had issues with SanDisk Cards? I can get the Ultra for $59.00 on Amazon!

I bought mine in Hong Kong for USD 95.
It's expensive yeah but it's the fastest 64GB micro SD you can buy.
It's good for you that you don't have problem with SanDisk Ultra but you can search for Note 2 + SanDisk Ultra.
It has a known problem, after awhile of use or the disk capacity reached certain amount.
Sometimes it will unmount the card or even damage the files in the card.
You can only re format the disk to solve the problem.
MANY people reported this problem. I don't know maybe trigger rate is not 100% but still not recommended.
Darkinners, thanks for your responds and suggestions (which I took and did a search, then some research!)
1. All of these complaints on SanDisk were about the 32Gb Card, not the 64Gb card. All the 64Gb comments were good.
2. The people with issues (both 64Gb and 32Gb) had formatted the card at exFAT, not SDXC. Mathamatically, I can pretty much figure out a.) why it will not write files over 4Gb and b.) why the 64Gb exFAT crashes after it fills over 16Gb! (Think about it, SIII is desinged to read/store 32Gb, not 64Gb even though it will format exFAT. And as for the kid whos computer would not read the 64Gb exFAT, i bet he has 32-bit machine?
3. All complaints were from Europe and blamed on a bad batch of cards (it happens). The one happy individual I saw got his card from Amazon, which is a ligit website. Just because the card says SanDisk, does not mean it actually SanDisk. Cheap forgien vendors use this lable to make them look legit?
4. The card you mentioned and the SanDisk are priced about the same, $59.99USD. I will get SanDisk and format either in phone or my laptop as SDXC and play for awhile. If it piss me off, I will return it!

I have the SM-T210RZWYXAR version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 and I have 2 questions.
1) What is the max amount of storage that can be used? On one site is says 32GB on another it says 64GB
2) What is the MAX read and write speed of the micro SD card port?
1. SM-T210R supports 64 GB sd cards.
2. Depends on the class of the sd card.
class 2 cards are 2MB/s, standard video recording,
class 4 cards are 4MB/s, Hi-Def (720p-1080p/1080i)
class 6 cards are 6 MB/s, basically the same specs as class 4 but faster.
class 10 cards 10MB/s with full Full 1080p and high speed data bus.

Hi, I was looking for a New MicroSd card for my G4;
I already have a 32gb samsung Pro sd (U3, 90r/80w) which is really fast, but that space in not enough anymore for me.
I saw a 128gb Kingston sd (U1, 45r/10w) for 41€ (or 64gb for 18€), but that write speed makes me flinch :/
Is 10mb/s enough for smartphone use (photos are saved in it, rec. very few videos in FHD 30/60fps, music)?
For a future-proof experience, is better a 64gb U1 now and 128gb U3 in the future (when prices will drop - now is 1€/gb for Samsung pro+ cards)?

10MB write is speed is very low for 128GB card! Don't buy it. Buy an U3 card if you will use 128GB high capacity. I suggest you to use 32 or 64GB untill you buy 128GB. But becareful. Research speed before you buy.

10 MB/s write speed is std on sandisk class 10 128GB or even 200GB.
It goes up to 40MB/s for the 64Gb sandisk extreme. Am also looking for a bigger capacity extreme card but its not available in my market as yet.

In all the recommendation blog posts they offer UHS-I class 1 or class 3 cards. I even saw a UHS-II class 3 card recommended once.
As usual you can't (easily) find information on these specific specs.
Does somebody know up to which class is supported?

UHS-II are not used at their max speed, so I would go with fastest UHS-I Samsung or Sandisk. With Lexar I had a lot of issues with my old Griffin (which should have same specs...)

Thanks for the info.
I asked a Motorola rep online when I bought the Moto Z and he told me that it doesn't support UHS-I cards.
But now it should be able to use UHS-I class 3 cards I hope.
The spec for the Tab S4 states the memory is "expandable up to 400GB via microSD card".
Has anyone tried to install a 512GB micro SD card?

Yes I have a lexar 512GB. Extfat and SDXD support to 2TB.

Just a heads up, most OEM's only list the sd cards available at the time of launch. This is a proven fact that this size works but how can you say a 2 tb card will work if it hasn't been tested?
They will NEVER state that a higher card will work if it hasn't been tried as this is false advertising and can lead to being sued if later it turns out to be false.
Best advice, theoretical limit of SDXC is 2 Tb, if your phone/tablet can handle a 64gb sd card it should be able to handle anything up to that, beware of format though (FAT32, exFAT OR NTFS) as some devices are limited by software...

Per that thread, Ultramag also has a 512gb card
And I've used an external 1TB hard drive without problems; the system sees it as a USB storage drive. Only complication is that it is NTFS. How I wish NTFS played better with Android.
I've gone back and forth on which brand to go with for 512MB; most reviews suggests SanDisk Extreme has the best performance (higher read speeds + equal write speeds), but it is nearly twice the cost of Samsung, PNY, and others ($160ish vs $90ish). I wish I could get a 1 TB SanDisk, but way outside my price zone. I'm planning on going with PNY once my CC rewards Amazon card gets delivered.

So I got my new card. I couldn't be happier. My write speed has gone from 15 MB/s to 50 MB/s. Read speed is 80MB/s.
My old card:
SanDisk 400GB Ultra microSDXC UHS-I Memory Card with Adapter - up to 100MB/s read speed and no write speed specified, Class 10, U1, Full HD, A1
My new card:
PNY U3 Pro Elite MicroSD Card - 512GB, Class 10, U3, V30, A2, up to 100MB/s read speed and up to 90MB/s write speed
I don't pretend to fully understand all the techno babble related to micro SD cards -- U-This, V-That, Class-Whatever, Up-To-Speed that isn't attainable in real life. But this is noticeably faster for transferring from internal memory to the external card.
Go for the highest speed ratings you can -- it is worth it.

FYI, because I read $160 for a 512GB card, I just bought a SanDisk Extreme 400GB at Amazon.de (ASIN B07FCQRN9K, sold and shipped from Amazon) for EUR 74. It's back at EUR 99 right now, but I bet it will some down again before Christmas. Also the Samsung 512GB 100MB/s (U3) MicroSDXC Evo Select (ASIN B07MKSGZM6) is at $65 right now. That's the same card as the Samsung Evo Plus, it's just a rebrand for Amazon. It has pretty lousy *random* write speeds, and thus no A1 or A2 rating, but is fine for sequential writes, so if you're worried about copying larger files from internal storage, it should be just as fast as a SanDisk Extreme doing that.
And I just see that amazon.com has the 400 GB extreme for $78 right now, so if you don't strictly need the extra 112 GB, you can save the extra 50-60 bucks. So these days, if you aren't setting your mind on a specific model you can get good value for the money.
