There's a new software available as of 2019-02-11, so what's new? - Galaxy Note 3 Neo Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I noticed there's a new software available as of 2019-02-11, still lollipop but what's new?
Did it finally solve the issues with the older ones?
Anyone tried?

Oh well I installed over kitkat and it seems ok for now. There's no lockscreen lag and the battery life is a little bit less than kitkat but I wouldn't say the battery usage is extreme as I heard with older lollipops!!
So until now I like..
Will update if something else comes up..

I got it from sammobile! Downloaded it and installed with odin. The battery life was not that great at first but I bought a new original battery and now the phone stays up for 2 days with mild usage O.O.
There's no lag with the lockscreen what so ever.
So weird how they added a new software in 2019
Click here to download if your phone is like mine (N750)

Link please.. i am unable to download it from sammobile
Hi @HippoHoppa please share file with gdrive... i am unable to fownload it from sammobile.. i will b thankful.

Go to http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=31761 and download the official kitkat firmware. Put your phone in download mode (by pressing vol down+home+power key while it is switched off) and flash it through odin http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1168421
You also need to update your bootloader to get wifi working.

If you download firmware for your country everything is fine.
Side effect: You get firmware including Knox, so if you want to run custom roms your Samsung warranty will be void.

I can only point out my view:
Always upgrade to the latest firmware (more stable and faster)
use custom roms for extended features like Note 3 or S5 (better on new firmware!)
Battery consumption seems to increase due to more features
but in fact only a question of how much and what you use.
Up to 2 days without charging with normal usage should be no prob.

but these days.... if your battery runs 2 days without charging then you are lucky... thats not possible.. if you put your phone on standby mode still your battery will die within 24 hours...
anyways...can you provide me link for best custom ROM which is best from all for my Device

Look into Rom section, see screenshots and read descriptions to find out which suits you most.
My first rom isn't published and the other one in development, so you got to choose what is available.

Update from V10a - should I?

Hi all
I'm new to G3 phones, and I just discovered that the firmware of my LG G3 is V10a, which is, I think, the first one. Right now, they say version V20f is out...
I have been invited to do OTA updates, but... my G3 has absolutely no problem, everything works 100%, I have no special issue with this magnificent machine. :good:
So, i dunno, should I update? I mean, what's the point to update a machine which is perfect right now (for me). I'm happy with V10a firmware, so is it worth it to update?

It depends where is your phone from.
Go to this URL csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=[IMEI] and put your imei at the end.
It connects directly with LG's servers and tells you what is the latest version availaible for your phone.

If you look at the name of the file it will tell you which version it is.
You should definitely come to 20F. It improves battery life and fixes a lot of bugs, definitely worth updating.

Probably in the general section of this forum. There is a topic about the Lollipop update. I haven't read it but maybe they talk about what they think of the update.
But you should definitely update from V10a, later OTAs have a lot of improvements in them. You got an early version here.

You need to unroot.
No it will not erase your data.
Stock recovery is needed if you are updating via FOTA.
Also make sure your system is not modified.
No need to relock your bootloader.
My recents is broken after this latest update. Is it just me or are others facing similar issues?
Is camera 2 API enabled?
If not can we enable it?

Yeah i think it does not change if u had already enabled it before the update. I used my Gcam after update, works as earlier. i guess no need to re enable it.

Yes true !
Noticed slight improvement in battery backup, previously it used to give 1hr of SOT/10% of battery but now it has improved to 1hr20mins/10% of battery!
I feel some improvements in dt2w are done, reducing standby drain

I noticed it too , I am getting more screen on time I think notch area still isn't handled properly
improvement in notch here means no more chopped battery percentage, but still no real full screen when playing movies or youtube.

Can you be spefiic about this? Please don't say delayed Pie rollout is misguiding. Maybe it would be better for them not to annouce an expcted date for updates but then people would still keep asking.
I have had my phone for 2 weeks and I am very happy with it. It does everything I need from a phone and is a decent upgrade from my K8 Note. I am happy to have the Feb security patch in reasonable time.
I had a problem with the DND icon not being removed after turning off DND but that seems to be fixed in this update. I use System UI Tuner to remove mobile data icons so I have more space in the status bar for notifications.

Hey See when you know you can't roll out update soon just don't promise it? I am not asking them to roll it out soon am asking them to be honest ! Because that's what makes company credible . I bought this phone with a hope that am getting pie which I wanted to explore but then from January it's been March but still we haven't got Pie . If Asus knew it can't roll out update that soon it probably shouldn't have started promising that ( and that would have cause them to lose customer) . Its not about you being happy with your phone it's about if you lied your words lose credibility!!!

I have problem in my phone's volume kyes so I can't reboot to recovery without root .
dont update it since update my cell signal drops suddenly
the battery is drained faster than before
Other Companies - Updates for better performance
Lenovo - Updates for poor performance
Why provide an update after 2 years and break the devices suddenly? Maybe they found that some people are still using the device and decided to make them buy newer ones..

Yes but I mean if I do not lose my files when updating, like my photos or applications I hope and you answer me fast because I am about to update
I didn't lose any files.
Heads up that payment apps do not currently work with this update. Android Pay says this is not an official rom, and LG Pay requires and update for android 10 that doesn't exist yet. I suspect because although it might be official firmware, it hasn't officially been released yet.
Hmmm thinking of pulling the trigger on this. Wondering if they made improvements in the camera app? Also wondering if there is a battery drain. A lot of updates from several different phone manufacturer's are reporting battery drain after updating to Android 10.

I notice the battery exactly the same, the camera improved and added new modes, but mainly the interface and fluidity of the Android 10 device improved much more than with Android 9
I took a gamble and decided to install it. Maaananaannnnn am I love this update. What a refinement! Feels like a new phone so much more polished that 9 was on the g8. Also loving the system wide dark made aka night mode. Everything is so buttery smooth
Meanwhile T-Mobile won't say anything on when they will push the update out for their variant. :crying:
