Hey guys need some stable testers for our 16gb and 32gb devices twrps. We have @FizzyAps trying to get us official twrps but we need more stable testers. Some requirements would be having a device that's successfully used my guide to get root. Be able to take logcats and send recovery reports, and keep in communication about any isssues. I'll do it. I don't use telegram, but you're more than welcome to send me a private message with a link. For unknown reasons, my G6 Play can use the 16gb or 32gb versions of twrp. I have no clue why but it's always been like this, so I should be able to test both for you.

The phone has been out for a while however i'm surprised there are no custom roms available for this phone yet.
Because those rom bakers only look for Phab 2 Pro... lol
2 plus is better, the way i see it. costs less, more people will get it and many would like to root and rom it.
im looking into getting it soon(if i can deal with letting another $200 go -just got the doogee y6max not long ago) I also just want to be sure i have the root process figured out. With the doogee, i asked for help and received none...but i still rooted it, luckily without problems.
I'm really hopeful some people jump in and get development going full speed on this phone(wishful thinking, maybe).

Hi I'm a developer and I have been looking for a custom ROM to upgrade my levono phab 2 plus to andriod 7.1 but it seems there is no such thing on the web, I'm wondering if does anyone know where I can find tutorials about how the ROM works and what should be modified in order to upgrade my phone? I can work on it it's just that I have no idea how android works so if can you provide information I will appreciate it.

As the sources are released, I am here to announce that I am going to bring TWRP to this phone and as soon as possible, a custom ROM. Since I do not own the device, I'll need a tester with a unlocked bootloader and who can test my works regurarly. As my VPS costs money any donation will be appreciated!

Android One can be unlocked instantly, you don't need any special requirement.

Has anyone been successful in flashing the Android 10 GSI? Especially if you are using the Chinese RN8. Would like to hear how you've done it.

Managed to do it using resources from the Redmi Note 8 Discussions Telegram Channel. Just do a search for it and you'd likely find it.
Currently running PE Android 10 Unofficial. Some bugs but as this is a secondary phone not a big deal to me.
Same question here. I can see in phhusson's Github documentation that Redmi Note 8 is one of the devices which has successfully booted his AOSP GSI and I can't see any indepth guide and discussion on how it can be done here in XDA.
Some do claim that they were able to run it while here I am trying to make it work with no success. Be it AOSP 9 GSI or 10 it just won't work at all. I followed the GSI installation tutorial for the Mi 8 here with the same old results. The Redmi logo just keeps on bootlooping after following all instructions.
If there's anyone who were really able to boot these GSIs to their Ginkgos, do leave a reply here on what worked for you so that we can also give it a try. Much appreciated.

I've try to flash GSI (phh-treble 10 V208) But the phone direct reboot in TWRP after that.... I wipe everything except vendor and flash gsi throught system but nothing work...
Also I have 8T (Willow) but it should works the same as Ginko... Any helps ?

Going back, I still can't figure out how to make those GSIs work. I'll ask those on the Telegram group where that link originated from so that I can check whether someone was really able to make it work.

Sure. But there isn't any out right now. Development has been slow because many reasons including kernel source not being released fully initially and phone being bricked way too easily with test builds. If you're looking to buy the phone with hopes of flashing a custom ROM, go for the Mi 9T Pro instead. If you already have the phone, be patient for a while.
There's hope from POSP dev, he's actually tried hard building a rom for this device despite getting bricked so many times. Still in progress, be patient.

We need everybody to promote the bricking issue of redmi note 8 pro so that xiaomi will remove the authentication account.it's absurd to keep us blocked from developing. Pleace make posts everywhere you can so people will know the problem. follow the #note8probrick on twitter and express your dissapointment

The N8pro is known to work at the moment after being flashed with that particular ROM, but it really needs to be tested for bugs before it gets promoted as an option.
There are also some other ROMs that derive from PHH's AOSP GSI ROM that could possibly work on the N8pro such as LineageOS 16, Resurrection Remix, and HavocOS

I bought the CN version at low cost and fast time because I know that XDA :goodeveloper. will help us to make the CN Rom to Global version and many Custom Rom. I just want to know that is there any active developer for this device? We are really waiting for you guys.
Wait for a while. The phone just got released worldwide. and there are many restriction imposed by realme.
Happy news for is is that ,realme is paying attention to it. Fingerprint of our device is working after unlocking bootloader and root.
So, soon we will hope to see development for our device.

you can't modify system Chinese apps without Unlock and rooting the device. And now the main problem starts 'Fingerprint' not work after bootloader unlocking. I there any one who work for solving the fingerprint issue?

After updating to A13. The fingerprint worked even after unlocking bootloader.
Sadly the update was suspended. Hope it will release again soon.

I bought my phone on Aliexpress, it came with a customized rom without the Chinese apps, with Google Play installed and multilingual, if they managed to make a rom like that, then I believe there is a way for our problem, what we need is someone customize a rmx-1991 rom, which is the chinese rom
