Flashing stock ROM with locked bootloader on XA2 (H3113) - Sony Xperia XA2 Questions & Answers

Hi guys,
Is it still possible to flash stock ROM with flashtool on locked bootloader?
I've been trying to flash Pie for several weeks now (it's not yet available in my region), by downloading the files for my phone with XperiFirm (the one launched from flashtool itself) and flashing it in flashmode. But first I get no partition delivery error and then no script found.
How can I resolve this issue?
Thanks for any info!

Thanks for the suggestion. I have tried it, without success. There's no partition.zip file (or partition.ta, don't remember exactly).
I have also received an error here.

Have you tried this https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79315628&postcount=993?
Create partition folder & copy partition...sin into it

this did work! thanks a lot! but I think I should have removed userdataXXX.sin file... it wiped my data, but nothing too important, and I wanted to it anyway

This is the rooted version. I used the original FTF from @scifan here.....

... to create this stock image with root and recovery included.
Oh, awesome! You should probably add that to the title
Does this have the same issue as the .101 where the XZDR.prop file needs to be replaced in order to access recovery?

lol, It might, I deleted the files in that directory right before turning off my phone to access recovery and flash the new zip. Both recovery's are working great with 4.4.2
Downloading now!

First of ... thanks Crash! You were really fast! I'm downloading right now
What directory do we need to delete the files from? I was not aware of the issue, though now I know why I couldn't access recovery on 101 :silly:

In your SDCard, simply delete the files in the XZDualRecovery or rename the XZDR.prop. If you delete them, they get recreated anyway and fixes that problem you had with 101
Oh, how much I love you right now. Thanks a lot! Will report if I encounter any issue with your files, though I seriously doubt I will.
I'm on unlocked boot loader. Can I just flash the zip and then the ftf file? Thanks

So I just flash these with the Twerp ?

This FTF works to UB and LB or just for UB. Any bugs, something special wich we need to know after flashing?

Locked or unlocked BL isn't important with these files.
Just upload the ZIP to your SDCard and flash it in recovery, then power off your phone without rebooting and flash the stripped FTF with Flashtool and you're done.
Thank you guys!
But for those (like my self) who are not experts on this, could you please, provide a detailed (step by step) guide on how to flash it?
If I already flashed it to kitkat (not rooted), can I do it over this one?
Regards

I flashed it with CWM but TWRP should also work without issues.

My BL is locked, there are easier ways if you have an unlocked bootloader but this will work whether your BL is locked or unlocked. Ive been running it for a few hours now and no issues, root and dual recovery's are working.

If you already flashed 4.4.2 then you do not have root and therefore cannot flash these. You will need to flash back to an older 4.2.2 so you can root and then install recovery. Once you have recovery the steps are:
1 - upload the zip to your SDCard and flash it via recovery
2 - After flash is successful, turn off your phone without rebooting.
3 - Flash the stripped FTF file via FlashTool and boot your phone.
That's it

If its a zip file then rename and give the file extension to ftf.means if the file name is xxxxx.zip then rename it to xxxxx.ftf

if He could have downloaded a zip file, the ftf file would be inside the zip file and it would not be accessible this way, he would need to extract it.

Xperia M5 downgrade from MM to lolippop

Hello there,
I see that there are already some threads about that but i'm a little bit confused. Can please someone posts clear instructions and links for the tools needed in order to downgrade my xperia M5 to lollipop?
So you need to download the latest version of flashtool from www.flashtool.net then look up your m5's model (eg. E5603, E5606, E5653) and download the software from http://www.xperiablog.net/forum/resources/categories/2015-xperia-range.73/ here (generic just means not set to a specific carrier and it doesnt matter about the country), then click the lightning button in flashtool and select flash mode then select your software and then follow the instructions
Thanks very much for the instructions. I also combined some guides found on the internet and performed the downgrade. You should download the firmware via xperifirm, bundle it in flashtool and then flash it.

well i have done it long ago but as far as i remember i used this guide (http://www.xperiablog.net/2014/08/1...are-files-using-xperifirm-and-flashtool-guide) to create my ftf and then i flashed it. It easy after that you just flash the rom

How did you accomplish this? I can't get RSD Lite to detect my phone (although fastboot devices shows it listed) and I can't flash the full firmware via adb because I keep getting "Image not signed or corrupt". I'm really confused.

Please don't ask mods to delete threads because of successful outcomes - post your solution instead. Leave the threads up as they are a useful resource for others (at least those who search before posting! )

I kept getting the "Image not signed or corrupt" whenever I had to flash the boot.img but I ignored the error once to try and see if it had any positive outcome, and it worked fine !
Can't flash stock ROM, can you do a detail installation log?

Is ur bootloader unlocked or not??
If not try unlock ur bootloader than try it ll work
From what I can tell you will always get the "Image not signed or corrupt" error, but it works anyways. Idk why but it doesnt matter as long as it works . Motorola(Lenovo) has the instructions to flash stock firmware on your device, just download the firmware for your device and follow those instructions.

Did you only flash the stock rom or did you try to flash everything? If you didnt try to flash everything I would try that and make sure you have the correct stock firmware for your device before you do that. Theres not really much else you can do other than try flashing in twrp, but idk if twrp supports space chunks, but it does support images. If it really comes down to it, you can force flash the system partition in twrp, but you would need the whole system image and not space chunks.

[SOLVED] How can I get the stock boot image flashable with fasboot?

I messed up my boot partition on "A" slot where the stock ROM is still installed and now I cannot boot it, but I want to test if some issues persist with stock android.

I've done it with Flashtool. You can download ftf with xperifirm, then copy kernel sin file somewhere and use sin editor function in Flashtool to dump it into img., (or just flash the firmware, checking every box in the 'exclude' section except for the boot files).

That doesn't work. Flashtool says "sin version not yet supported".

That didn't work for me either, the phone did not boot. I had to flash the whole stock firmware.
Try to fix it with Xperia Companion
