This is my port of ViperOS for daisy, no GSI

First and foremost, I have to apologise for the mess I created in this section. For some reason, my browser showed me errors when creating a new thread, but they were still created here on xda. I hope an admin can clean up those threads, it seems I can't delete them.
Anyway, have fun with the ROM and feel free to post bugs (preferably with logcat) and suggestions.

I guess you were a bit over-excited because there are 7 threads in here lol

I always got ERROR_500 after clicking on the save button. This lead me to think the thread wasn't created, so I retried... Well, now this is the result. I will ask moderator to clean up

Edit: Download link now is correct, sorry for the inconvenience.

Telegram should have some kind of security about this. Something that will check if a post with the same title exists so it duplicates won't be possible

Just got confirmation today that butterfly kernel works! Flash it after the ROM (and slot change + reboot)

ROM works great can't get viper gapps to work tho.opengaops does work

It looks nice. How's the first impression? I'm curious if Gcam works.

Whenever there is something new... But the minimal goal is to always have a version with latest security patch (when it's merged to ViperOS source) Inbetween of those releases, I will push one if there are bug fixes or important new features/versions

Great! Downloading as this message is being typed. So ViperOS Team improves the OS almost every month? Is this soon to be being official? And is OTA going to be a thing then? Thanks!

ROM is official now! I don't know if there will be major changes every month, but they merge Google's security patches to keep device safe and I want to provide a build quickly after. OTA should work according to the devs, let's see if it does also on this device (it should though)

About Project:
Citrus-CAF, unlike the name suggests, was initially based off CyanogenMod in the early days of its inception, we even had another name at that point. Later, taking into consideration feedbacks of the very first slew of testers and carefully studying the needs and demands of our users, we rebased the project to Code Aurora Sources, more commonly known as CAF. Time went by and Nougat released, and we decided that it was time, Citrus-CAF had to see the daylight. We rebased everything to the brand spanking Nougat. Realising the potential of CAF tags, and how each altered the device performance on different SoCs, we decided to keep our sources independent for each chipset on our GitHub. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 was the first device to get the full fledged taste of our Tangy Nougat. In the beginning, it was just two people behind , but in time, a lot of people joined us, each giving their own contribution.
Citrus-CAF was built to create a never-before combination of customization & performance, incorporating the features that our community expects.
All our sources are publicly available on our GitHub. We have a Google+ Community, where you can do community stuff. (Just kidding, we got builds over there and a feature-wish bucket too ) Thank You & Enjoy your stay and taste the Tanginess of our work.
Out of lemon, with love!
NOTE: There's nothing like, "we've decided to keep the customizations minimum, so as to provide stock AOSP experience, but with necessary features", cause this isn't Cardinal. This is Citrus

Before someone ask me:
1- No, it's not an EAS ROM.
2- Yes, you can consider it as continuity of ViperOS
Thanks man, I will check it out for a moment
EDIT!
Ok, I noticed a few things:
- There are no essential tiles in quick settings like: sound, screenshot (with partial screenshots), sync, caffeine
- Can't disable light in hardware buttons
- There is no "Double click on lockscreen to sleep" option, which is very useful
- I think that confirmation of rebooting is a little bit useless
- I'm using dark theme and when a floating window from LastPass app appears, it has black font on black background
Besides, rom looks great, very smooth and I'm waiting for next updates!
I didn't find advance reboot option,
Rom is good but needed improvement, so i wait for next build
Keep it up dev

I love the rom so far! Everything seem to be working so far (although System UI crashed few times when going to ROM settings, but it stabilized itself after reboot).
If I may suggest something - I wish I could do two things, actually - adjust brightness by sliding the status bar and also a way to enable the flashlight via double pressing power or longpressing the power. Great thanks in advance, looking forward to updates!

Obrigado,
Sorry for so many words, but i would appreciate if people could say few words about the rom and the battery life, because i'm on latest lineage os now and it's bad, especially sleeping(during night).
Don't you think it would be useful to post the minimum required firmware version in the rom description?
Also, how about adding installation instructions? It could be very useful for people who are not that geeky, including the point about firmware there, because a lot of people do not know what it is and are thinking it's difficult to change/update the rom(i have a friend with mi5 who told me so).
If you don't have time for that I can help you, probably, even I'm an android developer I know nothing about maintaining custom firmwares, but i wish to help.
I was with ViperOS (best nougat rom) and now I will try this
If anybody using this rom please provide your experience, thank you

I've been using this rom for 6 days now, what would you like to know?
It's very stable so far I did not have any issues. It's not as featured as other roms out there but the hit on the battery is also not as big as other roms. I used to use RR (pre-oreo official build) and CosmicOS and even though it has fewer features than the rest of them, I'm far more satisfied with it.

Thanks for reply, are you using f2fs or ext4
I ask this as i see 'F2FS' in the title.
Flashing the ROM is as simple as, clean flashing a ROM?
Do i have to format the internal storage for F2FS?

NOTES
Do not flash LoonyKernel. Rom already ships with LK along with LK tweaks. If there's a kernel update, I'll separately post kernel update zips for my AOSiP builds.
Recommended TWRP: Download [Thanks to Lyuu]
Recommended OpenGapps Package are Pico and Nano. Users may go for Micro if they want pixel launcher. Any other higher packages is not recommended and may unnecessarily use more memory.
Spectrum support is inbuilt so you just have to install spectrum app from play store to switch b/w different modes depending on the task/activity you are doing.
What's not working
SELinux (Disabled for now)
FM radio does not work
Video recording (Use open camera or asus camera)
In-built camera of some social media apps does not work (e.g. whatsapp)
Flashlight QS toggle (chop gesture works)
If any other you encounter please report with proper logs

Excellent ROM, but unfortunately I could not install magisk. Every time I got the message that it was not installed. When I install it via recovery, magisk says it is installed ... Solution?
Really great work ICrD512 on your ROM. Including sound and volume in the QS pulldown is nice to have, as well as all the other options in the OwlsNest. I had no problem getting Magisk v18.0 to work after installing Magisk manager 6.1.0. Flashed Asus camera and that's working fine Also. Weather on the lock screen would be a nice addition, but everything loads quick and smooth. Xt1644.
Did notice screen brightness is high at 0% on slider for night use. Editing lcd backlight file in root explorer from default 10 to 2 is a temp fix which reverts back when screen turns off. I think I've seen it mentioned in other pie Rom forums that brightness changed in pie.

I never flash Magisk until I've setup the ROM to my liking and then booting back to twrp and flashing Magisk. Then boot back to ROM and installing Magisk manager. I know others might have a different flashing sequence but this has always worked for me on pie roms.
Great to see another Pie ROM, thanks for your efforts!
Minor issue:
- AOSiP: Charging info on lockscreen is wrong I think: 344mA/h / 4V
unit for charging current should be mA, not mA/h
(and just one digit in 4V is not very accurate ..)

Did that. I'm using this ROM
WhatsApp camera not working always crashes
Indeed the best of all pie roms I've tried till now. One thing I really liked about this rom that it didn't gave me inconsistency at performance. Ran smooth when I flashed it and still running smooth unlike some other where by now I start getting stutters and frame drops. Just one thing pls OP can you do something about the status bar gaps on left and right side? It doesn't look good honestly.
Finally a pie rom I am enjoying very much.

Acknowledged, I'll look into these and whatever possible will be done as these will require modifications in the rom's source.

That's a known issue but I forgot to add it in non-working list. In-build camera might not work for some social media apps.

The only fast charging we can get is from a computer but that is still lower that a normal fast charger 2A. A stable kernel comes with the rom, the sources are public so feel free to add whatever you want on it.

Is there a guide on how to create custom kernels ?
And what about lineage os build no. 03/12 it come with fast charge, and my phone charges like it was made in 2019 also the crdroid 03/12 build both have fast charge enabled, why can't all ROMS ENABLE FAST CHARGE ?

He's telling you we added a feature that is called "fast charging," and he put it in quotation marks because we all know the battery still doesn't charge as quickly as we want it to. This is the case on all Pie ROMs. If you want to improve it, submit some patches - I would certainly appreciate the help.
Hi, just somes questions: because I have given up on Official lineageos 15.1 and on others android pie officials from this forum...
On ViperOS for Honor5x (kiwi)
-Is the eap sim (to connect to free_wifi_secure) work? did you build the wpa supplicant with CONFIG_EAP_SIM=y
CONFIG_PCSC=y
-Is the google fit working as perfect as on lineageos 14.1 or fail to count steps and block to 0 steps 0km as 15.1 does?
-Is the system free ram when we normal stop usage of applications?
-Is the follow up fonction on Pokemon go working to earn candy without launching the application
I got a simple question, does it include the android q styles that @coldhans added to AOSiP ? coz, i love them so much.
Please add On the Go mode. missed it since LOS 14.
If you fixed Google Fit tracking, youll be God sent. Has never worked on any rom except LOS 14.
Anyway gonna try over the weekend to see how it feels.
cheers
Nice ROM. Everything is extra small scale and even with font increase to large it is a little too compressed for me. I installed the gapps all types but no keyboard so I had to install the gboard apk.

Hi, if all rom have the same source: why to choose viper and not lineageos? What are differences?

You are welcome you may see few more roms
I installed this ROM on last night. Here are my experience with this ROM:
1) The ROM has equal performance as of Lineage OS while switching apps and scrolling the page as per my usage. Definitely you will be greeted with Sellinux Enforcing, Privacy Guard, Lineage OS Trust but Quick step lawncher as the default one.
2) It has good amount of features as listed in OP. The good thing is that feature section is organized very well. Unlike others fully featured ROMs ( You know what are those?), You may find difficulty in searching the proper feature and its location in setting menu and then submenu but in this ROM you can get easily.
3)Theme engine for setting panel is unique as seen in screen shot.
4) It has dedicated styles for QS panel with the preview before applying. Just look at your favorite style and then tap to confirm.
Over all it is good ROM. Let's check the battery back up too after prolonged usage.
Thanks for your feedback

Thanks for your feedback on the rom, as this is an unofficial thread you are free to use any custom kernel out there if you are not satisfied with the battery usage with stock kernel. Any way please share your findings on battery backup.
