Question regarding rooting Unlocked T-Mobile LG G7 - LG G7 ThinQ Questions & Answers

Hello everyone, I am unaware if this is possible, or not. If I have a Lg G7 that I've bought outright from T-mobile, and can be used with any phone carrier, am I able to root it as an unlocked factory unit? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Only LG g7 from Europe (g710EM models) can be bootloader unlocked. Also the T-Mobile model has been known to cause problems with whatever custom development is going on here.
As a normal stock phone it's ok. It's just not development friendly

I believe all versions except the T-Mobile one have a locked bootloader, no matter where you buy it from.

LG US991 info please...

good day/evening XDA community,
I have a question about the LG G4 US991 variant.
Is it the same in terms of development, modding, rooting etc.?
Can you guys shed some light as to what is the major difference compared to the H815?
Can the H815 developments, rooting, modding etc. work on the US991
thanks in advance guys...
*bump* i am wanting to put cyanogenmod on my LG G4 US991 (US Cellular variant bought unlocked at Best Buy for use on TMobile network which works just fine) but also cant find any info over the H815. Help?

If you are still on Lollipop, it can be rooted with Low Effort root and you can install Xposed through Flashify. That's it, since there's no bootloader unlock. If you're on Marshmallow, you can't root.

I'd swap out your US991 for a T-Mobile H811 (which comes with an unlockable bootloader out of the box). You can only unlock the bootloader on International (non-US) H815s and the T-Mobile H811.
Hey ecaslak, I accept that deal. I have a two weeks old g4 US991 and I happily swap with yours.

Rogers Bootloader unlock/model number.

Hello.
I was thinking of getting an LG G4 as an upgrade from my shattered Huawei y6, but I was wondering how easy it would be to unlock the bootloader on the Rogers (Canadian) variant. I can't find anything on this. Also what is the model number for that phone?
Thanks for your time!

You can't unlock officially the Rogers model. The only ones are h811 which is T-Mobile US and h815 international(!) version.
There is a way to unlock unofficially with limitations which can be found in my signature
Besides this you should know that depending on the manufacturing date you will suffer from a hardware issue. Just search for bootloop g4..
Sent from my LG-H815 using XDA Labs
Rogers phones are now 6 or 7 #?series I wouldn't would about bootloop
Although I avoided Rogers got an American phone because of bootloader

Whether I buy LG G4 H818P or not?

Hello guys, I bought a LG G4. The seller today said that they have sent a H818P Dual SIM version. I already have an G4 H815 European Version and I wanted exactly the same one to easily unlock bootloader, root new ROM flash etc. after warranty period.
Should I send it back or should I accept it? What do you suggest to me? Will it be easy to find custom ROMs for H818P in the future (2 years later).
Also, is there any significant differences between them especially for my country Turkey? I have read some posts about rooting H818P with H815 ROMs. Are they easy to cope with? Or is it better to send it back.
Thank you beforehand for your suggestions.

Help flashing Custom rom on LG G8 820UM AT&T

Recently got a LG G8 thinq at&t variant, we have the bootloader unlocked, but cant find any custom roms, and it seems at twrp doesn't support this model, so can't flash GAPPS, even if we did get a rom. Can anyone help? Thanks
can you tell me please how did you unlock the bootloader?
There are no custom roms yet. Someone has to make one. I'd take a crack at it if I wasn't retarded when it came to programming. Every time someone tries to help me I screw it up.
