I don't know , I just got the phone and noticed that the fast charging is not consistent at all.
After digging around in XDA and Reddit I found out that the October OTA messed it up..
That's why I'm asking.

It's fairly consistent for me though not really fast. I'm using the original charger and the speed varies depending on the percentage. Take a good amount of time to charge up fully. Although with my usage i get a full day and i put it up on charge at night so issues for me.

That's correct but 3 years from release is nothing new. It's always been that.

Yeah, I thought the OP was saying that the Pixel 2, 2 XL wasn't getting any more updates, as in OS updates.

No the OP meant that there was no update (fixes the 3 and 3 XL got like camera launching) for the Pixel 2 and 2 XL for March. It's just a security update.

Inconsistent how for you? It's always a 70-75% increase in 60 minutes when starting at 5-10%.

Not trying to be difficult here, but where did you find that it is JUST security updates?
Asking because.

Now maybe that refers only to the OG Pixel, in that case where are the ones for the P2 / XL and P3 / XL?
Below is a screen grab.

I actually didn't catch that. I went by the system up to date saying "security patch level: March 5, 2019".
Me saying it's "just a security patch" was just saying that's there's no functional changes like the Pixel 3 and 3 XL.

Yes, but no. I'm not sure but:
Security patch levels of 2019-03-05 or later address all issues associated with the 2019-03-05 security patch level and all previous patch levels.

Example:
CVE-2019-1986, affecting Android 9; CVE-2019-1987 affecting version 7.0, 7.1.1, 7.1.2, 8.0, 8.1, and 9; and CVE-2019-1988 affecting version 8.0, 8.1, 9.
Was patched in the last updates.
So I assume We got the https://source.android.com/security/bulletin/2019-03-01#2019-03-05-details patches but no Pixel specific security update was added.

That page was updated today. What I posted yesterday was very incomplete, to say the least.

Charging speed varies with the percentage of battery when you plug it in, faster charging initially and then it slows down towards the end.
Charging speed also depends on the phone temperature, if the phone is cold (less than 18 or 20 Celsius i think?) it charges quite slowly, above 22-23 Celsius (the phone that is) it charges fast.

Google pixel 4 ota software updates trickle-down to 3/2 pixels ?

Hi Guys
Got myself pixel 2 xl
just wondering on the ota updates ,other then security patches I know 2xl updates run through the end 2020.
But will some of those updates that pixel 4 has trickle-down to the 2 or 3 pixel ?
obviously stuck with the hardware you have, but will the older models get the new smarter Google Assistant or improved camera features ?
thanks in advanced

General XDA Article: March 2022 Android security update rolls out alongside Android 12L to supported Pixel phones

https://www.xda-developers.com/march-2022-android-security-update/
March 7, 2022 1:21pm Comment Adam Conway
March 2022 Android security update rolls out alongside Android 12L to supported Pixel phonesAnother month, another security patch. Like clockwork on the first Monday of each month, the latest Android security patch is now available. It should start arriving on third-party devices soon, and it’s rolling out now to all supported Pixel devices. The Google Pixel 6 series is yet again behind the rest of the pack, after a couple of months of inconsistent releases for Google’s latest flagship series. What’s more, this is also a Pixel feature drop update and brings with it the final stable release of Android 12L.
March 2022 Android Security Update BulletinThe 2022-03-01 security patch level includes one for the Android runtime, six in Framework, one in Media Framework, ten in System. Most of the details about each vulnerability aren’t public yet, so device manufacturers have time to roll out fixes. However, all the security patches are labeled as “high” severity (bar the one in Android runtime), with one that only affects Android 12 (CVE-2021-39708) marked as “critical.”
Google has also released information about the 2022-03-05 security patch level, which includes fixes for Qualcomm, MediaTek, and Kernel components that may not necessarily apply to all devices.
Pixel Update Bulletin/Functional UpdateThe full changelog for Pixel devices is below which includes fixes and other changes. This is also a feature drop update and sees the advent of the final, stable Android 12L build for Google Pixel devices. Google Pixel 6 devices will be receiving the update later this month.
Full March 2022 changelogThe March 2022 security update with patch level 2022-03-05 is rolling out for the Pixel 3a series, Pixel 4 series, Pixel 4a series, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, though it would appear that the Pixel 6 series update is delayed (again). The Pixel-specific update addresses a few additional vulnerabilities in the kernel, Pixel software, and both open and closed-source Qualcomm components, the details of which can be viewed here.
Here are the build numbers for the latest Pixel security update:
Global:
Pixel 3a: SP2A.220305.012
Pixel 3a (XL): SP2A.220305.012
Pixel 4: SP2A.220305.012
Pixel 4 (XL): SP2A.220305.012
Pixel 4a: SP2A.220305.012
Pixel 4a (5G): SP2A.220305.012
Pixel 5: SP2A.220305.012
Pixel 5a (5G): SP2A.220305.012

The pixel 3a XL has gotten the 12L update a couple days ago.
No love for the 3XL?
