Jack adapter advice - OnePlus 7 Pro Accessories

Hi everyone,
I will be switching from Oneplus 5T to 7 Pro by next week.
For the first time, my phone will not have a jack port.
I have great (and expensive) Bose earphones with active noise reduction that I want to keep using, so I am looking to buy a usb-c to jack adapter, I have spotted many on Amazon and wanted your input as I have no idea whether their might be quality or compatibility issues!
Here are some links I spotted:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PF8Z6LB
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P5T7QTF
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NVDT57C
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MS88XPB
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QQ4LV8F
What do you think?

The phone doesn't come with a dongle?

But you couldn't buy them during the community drops, so you're stuck with a £5 or £8 delivery charge for a £7 item, despite having just dropped £800 into their pockets for the phone itself!
Way to go guys; you couldn't just put one in the bloody box or allow us to buy one at the same time !! :crying:
Instead I scored a couple of cheapo dongles from Amazon with free next day delivery instead, which will still arrive quicker than the OnePlus item despite being a third of the all-in cost.

I agree, they could have included it since they took away the headphone jack.

I mean yeah it's a shame that they didn't include one buy I managed to pick up one during the community drop ? I was more annoyed that for some reason my student discount was unavailable till October, even though I got my OP 5 over 2 years ago

I advice you to buy DAC and not a simple adapter since it has the same size, the Sonata HD DAC Cable II by Hidizs got pretty good reviews

I agree! A good 24bit or 32bit DAC built in to the USB dongle will give you a much better audio experience.

Still, it's about 10 X the cost of the basic adapter, so unless the onboard DAC turns out to be pants I'll probably stick with what's sitting in the mailroom for me

I'll get a DAC adapter.

I'm in the same boat, will be upgrading from 5T to 7Pro. Looking for a good adapter. 2 pack would be enough as keeping a backup in case i lose it.
How much of difference is buying a DAC one.

What jabra did u buy. I've had bad luck with jabra stuff in the past the plantronics headset was great but breaks to often (mine, my uncles, and 2 more co-workers ) all broke in the same exact place and we bought them all from different places and different times (months and years apart)
The blueant is brand new of course there is not going to be a market for it just yet people just went out and bought the blueant q1 a few months ago and are still buying it. My arrival date on the T1 is the 23rd.

BTW, I have bought a few things from the cell guru.com, and they are great; fast shipping, and respond quickly..plus, some really low prices on some things..
no worries buying from them!
I still love my Jawbone Icon the best, but that T1 is tempting...if it worked with the Android app the way the Q1 does, I would probably grab one..
Let me know if has a micro USB charging port like the Evo. I have the Q1 and it dries me nuts that I have to carry a 6" adapter with me to charge it. Everytime it dies I'm in the house and the charger is in the car, or I leave the charger at home and it dies in the car.

Nice, thanks. Look like I found my next headset. Having one charger for both the Evo and the head piece is what I like. I have several, office, car and home. I have the Q1 and have no complaints about it, I assuming the T1 will be better with longer battery life.

Which Type-C to 3.5 mm jack cable should I buy?

Hey guys,
I'm looking for and advice on Type-C to 3.5 mm cable. The original one lasted for about 5 months. I tried to buy two different cables. One cheap white under 1 USD, that was utter crap, and slightly more expensive golden braided one. That one looks better, but still performs horribly. The thing is, one phone sounds fine, but the second one has low volume issue. The only cable that works without problems is the original one. But it's really worn out after those few months, and music stops often, because the phone thinks the headphones are coming out. So... What would you buy, possibly on Aliexpress?
I've got two favorites, one looks like original but isn't original (I can't post links yet, so just search "Letv X820 Type-C Adapter Type-C to 3.5mm Earphone Headphone audio interface Adapter Cable for Letv LeEco Le Pro 3/ X829" on Ali) and the other one is two times more expensive Vention one (search "Vention USB Type C to 3.5mm Adapter Cable Headphone Earphone Jack Aux Cable for Letv Leeco Le Max 2 Pro 3/Max2/S3"). People say that the first one isn't original but sounds as one. And I'm not sure about Vention. It should be good, specialized company, but I'm not sure, the product doesn't have any reviews and paying twice the price for the same product seems unnecessary. But if it'd last longer, I'd definitelly do that.
I love the phone so far, but this no jack thing is horrible. So if you have any tips or recommendations, please don't hesitate to tell me.
Thanks a lot.
I've just ordered these 2 weeks ago:
Bastec USB Typ C bis 3,5mm Adapter Kabel Kopfhörer Kopfhörer Jack Aux kabel für letv leeco le max 2 pro 3/max2/s3 nexus 5x6 p
http://s.aliexpress.com/yaeMrY3i
(from AliExpress Android)
Not only that I've received them in about 1,5 weeks to Germany but the build + sound quality is great!
The sound quality seems to be at the same quality level of the original adapter. And the build quality is way better..

Thanks for the tip! I just have a question. Is this really the original stock one or just a copy? Because from what I've seen those copies look well on the photos but don't match the quality (well quality... 5 months of usage isn't something I'd call quality, but whatever, at least it plays well ) of the original product. But it'd probably be the best option, because I know the length of life for those and could buy three at once and never worry about it again.

Thanks for the tip! Could you please estimate the life of the cable? It looks fine, but overally, will it last the same, or twice the time as the original one? Those braided ones definitelly look more sturdy, but you never know... If I should buy two or if one could stick for about a year?
Thank you, guys.
The quality of my new ordered cables is really solid and durable. I've also ordered 3 units at once and Im pretty sure that those will stick longer than a year with me.
Idk if castius has already ordered http://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-TypeC-to...0AAOSwXeJXc8Sc these, but from an previous order that had the exact same looking cables I can tell that my unbranded white cables have miserable sound quality and arent durable at all.. They broke after 2 Weeks of usage.
But maybe you'll be lucky with the white ones. I wasn't.
Cheers
That's great to know, thank you. I'll probably order two and we'll see. I'm just waiting what castius has to say about those ebay ones, if he already has them. Because that's what I'm afraid of, that they'll maybe work fine for three weeks and then the same story as with those unbranded ones that we've got experience with.

Well, it was in HKTR store on Aliexpress, I seriously doubt that I can get something from them... Or do you think it's worth a try? I'd do it if I was in India or USA, where LeEco normally sells their phones, but buying it from China as a Czech republic citizen, I guess there's not much I can do.
EDIT: Okay, so the product page says that warranty on accesories is one month, so that ended before it started Still thanks for the idea. But I'll probably end buying the Bastec one, it even went one dollar down today.

Always worth a try who knows maybe they have a stack of OEM cables they will sell you.
I bought my Max through Amazon (device came from Chinese seller), leeco (USA) replaced the charge. I didn't think I had a chance, but Leeco barely questioned it.

Well, I've got two golden ones in basket, but I'll maybe switch to the silver side, because my Max is silver. I'm not sure yet, just waiting for seller to reply. But apart from those two, the colours are kind of hideous, to be honest
I got one silver and two black . The silver one differs a really small tiny bit from the black cable. Anyway I think that any color is a bang for the buck with those cables. and both colors have the same great audio quality.
Soooo... It didn't work I'm buying two of those Bastec beauties, so thank you all and hopefully everything's gonna be allright for at least a year.

Hey, you're right, the Bastec one is nowhere to be found now. I'm really sorry for your loss, this is a really tricky business. My one and only advice is this - Don't ever buy an adapter without engraved name of the company. Those are really shi**y in most cases. I did some research on Aliexpress and this is what I found:
Something that looks like an original cable. You can find more of these on Ali, there are even some with user pictures, so those should be relatively safe to buy. Although don't expect them to last more than half a year with moderate usage.
Then there's Vention, I think I already have some cables from them and it always worked as it should, so I'd guess that in this case, it should be the same.
And finally, this beast here which looks monstrous and should deliver properly. Not sure about the quality of charge, but audio should be fine.
Unfortunatelly I can't tell you any personal impressions, as I own only the Bastec ones, but this is all of my knowledge. I hope it'll help you to find something that's really working, fingers crossed.

I'm glad I could help, I really hope that this one works without problems. I remember how big my troubles were when I was dealing with this problem, I bought two adapters and both sounded like a 1940s radio. The worst thing is that you're waiting weeks for it to arrive from China and then you can't do anything else than order another one and hope that after another few weeks, things will be different. I'm really looking forward to your, hopefully positive, feedback. If you have cable headphones and will use this phone for more than half a year, there is a chance of about 99,9% that you'll need another adapter, so your feedback will be surely welcome from every other Le Max 2 owner

Should I buy a Google USB C to 3.5 mm or are there better alternatives?

I'm using Huawei USB-C headphones (the ones provided with their phones). I got them from Amazon for £20. Sound is alright (I'm not too picky when it's about music quality tho) and I'm not bothered with adapters and whatnot.
Just a note. I ordered 2 Google adapters in mid July, checked the order status a few days later, and back then the expected delivery date was in October. I think like the 2nd week. So I cancelled that and bought these for $19.90 for two from Amazon.

They work fine and they're better because they actually arrived shortly after I ordered. Since Google charges shipping on small orders, it was going to cost $23 something for two and I'd still be maybe 6 weeks away from getting them.
My fear is Google is not really keeping them in stock because they're putting either a regular 3.5mm headset jack on the Pixel 3, or there will be a DAC so that the cable doesn't need to have it.

I'm not an audiophile, but music sound quality is good. They seen a touch better than the OEM Google adapter with earbuds. And I mean stock Samsung and some $30ish sweets I have. I tried then with my Corwin E7 which is I think $60 on Amazon. So not the cheapest tier, but also not a few hundred dollars either. With those, I don't think I could tell the difference between the oem and the adapter I got on Amazon.
Google just launched their own type C earbuds. They are on the Google store for $30.

car accesories?

i opened this thread for discussion about car accesories for the pixel 3.
i'm specially interested in a dual 12v charger (one slot good for the pixel 3, another for standard usb smartphones); and too i'm looking for a phone holder.
anyone having experience with any of these?

USB Type C Car Charger, Nekteck 5.4A USB-C Car Charger Adapter with Integrated Built-in Type-C 3.1 Cord for Google Pixel 3 2/ XL, Galaxy S9/ S9 Plus/Note 8/ S8/ S8 Plus More, Black - Coiled Cord https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CH9NEM2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_m.vfCbV0RKYPA
That's the best car charger I could find. Built in coiled USB C cable (for compactness/neatness) with a regular USB slot to charge additional devices when needed.
Got one of these in mine and the wife's cars and they've worked great since my Nexus 5x days.
Looking for a cable usb a to usb c works well (fast charges) in a qc 3.0 car charger for pixel 3. Any suggestions?

I see that thing is BT 4.1. If it's low latency you're after, look for something that supports BT 5.0. Also if you're looking to use a BT receiver for music or the highest quality sound available right now, look for ones supporting both BT 5.0 and APTX HD.

i opened this thread for discussion about car accesories for the pixel 3.
i'm specially interested in a dual 12v charger (one slot good for the pixel 3, another for standard usb smartphones); and too i'm looking for a phone holder.
anyone having experience with any of these?

I saw several options in the thread, but any of them are from amazon. I personally prefer the source - China, where everything from amazon actually is manufactured. Just've got car charger with dual sockets - USB-A and USB-C. It cost me $4.99 at sale, now $6.99:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Baseus-30W-Dual-USB-C-PD-Quick-Charge-QC-4-0-Car-Charger-For-Mobile-Phone/32919769665.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.17524c4dQHBim9
It's Baseus 30W Dual USB C PD Quick Charge QC 4.0 Car Charger. Nicely packed (perfect as a gift). Checked how it works - perfect for Pixel 3 and Pixelbook. Tested both sockets, no surprises, it USB-С rapid charge, in USB-A just charge. It comes pretty fast - ordered Dec 29, delivered Jan 11. It's not overnight, but you know - time is money. About phone folder I use simple one, without any build-it charger for $1.59 or even $1.19 for weird color:

Pretty strong spring, good grip. Again, similar thing at amazon cost way more. This is why if I see something interesting at amazon, I search similar thing at aliexpress and almost always find exact the same thing at approximately half price. Hope it helps.
Agree with Che. Most things on Amazon are overpriced. There's pro's and con's to buying overseas though.
My biggest concern when going through stores like Aliexpress or Wish is quality and customer service (in case you have questions, received the wrong product, etc.) They either take a week or more to get back to you, or don't get back to you at all.
The other issue is the obvious one. Shipping speed.
Other than those things, I've noticed the reviews on those sites seem completely fake. There's a lot of the same type of comment, someone's verbatim, for certain types of products. As an example, check out the comments for bluetooth receivers on Wish. It's easy to spot if you look for it.
Now even with all these things considered and even if they're all true, it doesn't mean the product isn't worth the price. It also doesn't mean the product isn't a high quality one. But how do you really know what you're getting?

The customer service is actually pretty good. Only twice nobody answered my questions, but they just silently refunded in full as I requested. Mostly they reacted literally in hours. I've never tried Wish, I use only Aliexpress or other sites from Alibaba group (you can see list of them at the bottom of their page).

Yeah, this is the real issue if you need something fast. Usually it is in a month, but in holiday season can be way longer (the worst case was 3 months, but I wasn't in rush). Again, as I mentioned - time is money. I was surprised this season - despite of warning of 60-day delivery, they delivered in less than 20 days (ordered Dec 10 2018, delivered before Christmas - wow!). Now many Aliexpress stores have warehouses in the US, so it can be even several days.

About quality and reviews - just use your common sense, like at ebay. As I mentioned, "if you see something interesting at Amazon" - so use Amazon's reviews to get a real review. The brandname at a gadget can be different, but remember OEM - they print whatever name you'd like, so if items look alike, they usually identical. Don't forget Google search, including image search. Also don't forget basic research of a seller - how long the store is active, how many positive reviews, what sort of negative reviews they have - some customers are just inadequate. Also positive reviews can be faked, negative - less likely. And. of course, you are right - it's easy to spot a fake one in both categories.
About returns - have never returned anything there, so have no idea how it works if it does. If something's wrong, a seller at Aliexpress in my case prefer to refund and leave you with a defective item. Once there was a shipping charge, so I discussed with the seller that issue and politely pointed that is illogical to pay for delivery of an non-working gadget and they agreed, refunding a half of the delivery charge, as I offered (I had two identical gadgets in my order and one was dead).
A little experience of interacting with Chinese stores - they value their names pretty much. They don't like to "lose face", so if you have a problem - contact them first instead of opening a dispute right away. Almost always we reached mutually acceptable solution. In case of Aliexpress, as I know, they have pretty strict policy there - if a seller hit 95% or less of positive feedback, Aliexpress will kick them out. This is why they are attentive, expecting your high (5 stars) feedback in return. It's better to lose some bucks, than whole business. Also keep in mind cultural differences - it's normal for a Chinese to see business relations as friend's relations. So don't hurt their feelings - it pays back. As everywhere.
Hope you are not bored to death by my long note.

Yeah I end up not getting it as Mazda actually made a retrofit kit available to enable Carplay and Android Auto in the CX9. So I went that route instead and it works really well now.

I don't blame you there. I'd much rather go with something that is built in than an extra box you have to plug into a jack and hide somewhere.

General Hidden earphones

Remember to recover the earphones hidden inside the box. Of all the reviewers i've seen no one mentioned them. They're cheaply made and with 3.5mm jack, but free earphones nonetheless
The early bird phones don't have this earphones..
i didn't find nothing

mine was delivered with usb-c -> 3.5mm port adapter, so it's ok
Damn, Thanks. I thought I'd pulled every flap that moved but there they were tucked in the top left.
Sound pretty terrible but extra stuff is extra stuff.

I see. So I took my box to check and mine does have that same compartment but nothing's in it. Makes me wonder if the seller (bought from Lazada here in the Philippines) took it.
got mine from aliexpress and i did check under all those compartments and there were no ear phones.
Mine, sealed and bought in Po.co Spain, doesn't have it, only the adapter. Bought it on early bird.
nothing in my box
Mine comes in two weeks, I'm planning on destroying the box to see if I can find hidden treasure.

Yeah but I had headphones that xiaomi gave free next to it too.
I think that what it is called "limited" package from the Poco Seller of Aliexpress doesn't include any earphones.
