How do I know if the bn31 battery is still good? - Xiaomi Mi A1 Accessories

Hi ... I have a question about bn31 battery ... how do I know if the battery life is still good?
Using the multimeter, it marks 4.20v ... it means that this good or I need to change? the cell phone is not lasting for 6hrs of use and the battery is gone. Would you like to know if it's really the battery or have something else with the phone?

Use AIDA64 app to check battery health

Hi. Thanks for informativo. But i want anything more physical...no app...i don't believe much in the app's :good:

Used AccuBattery and then use your phone as normal and let it charge for 4-5 times, then you will get the estimate battery health left from your phone. Screenshot is from my Mi A2.

You know it's good if it doesn't look like this:

Late reply.
I'm using AccuBattery App since March 2019 and its working very well for My MiA1. I trust it after cross-checking with alternate indicators.
Most important is the time spent in Deep Sleep. If you get zero or small percentage of time in this mode even after overnight inactivity, your mobile has background apps that are consuming battery.
I have been using Greenify App for many years and it helps cleaning up. I think it's a necessary App.
Try the following:
Shut down the phone. Reboot from Cold.
Put the Battery Saver ON w/o doing any other app launch.
Do the same thing first, after every Charging.
Every morning, I check the Deep Sleep. I do get additional ~6hrs (same as your sleep time). The average discharge rate falls to 1 to 1.5%/h.
AccuBattery does help, working consistently for last 8 months.

Very litlle battery life on my GIO

Hello all,
Am i the only one that is having problems with the battery life on the galaxy gio?
I charged the phone today at 5 in the afternoon, by 8(3 hours after) 70% of battery, charged it with the wall charger and i rebooted it when the battery was full to close all tasks.
In 3 hours without any wifi, only 1 sms received, no calls and no other tasks was executed i lost 30%.
What can i do to improve the battery?
Are you experiencing any similar problems?

You can wipe battery stats, and turn things like gps wifi data autosync unused apps etc off, for some things you need root acces

What rom you have ?
I have problems with battery life too...but because i play games. Is weird because you didn't do nothing like browsing or play games and your battery was eaten.
Try a full wipe.
Also search the market for PowerTutor, it might be able to help finding what eats your battery, as what you describe this is not normal.
If you've rooted your phone you can calibrate your battery. There's an app for this in the market. It just wipes the battery stats file and creates a new one. I've head that it is good with every rom change to calibrate the battery Hope this helps! GL!
Actually it's good to flash every new ROM when you have fully charged battery. If you fail to do this you'll have to calibrate the battery and it might not be easy to do right the first time.
SO much easier to flash having full power
Battery stats wiping
IIRC google denied that battery stats wiping would actually increase the battery life: http://www.xda-developers.com/andro...-battery-stats-does-not-improve-battery-life/
I assume, you have things like WiFi, BT or GPS turned off... Then you maybe might try another launcher. Samsung's TouchWiz is quite a power eater.

It won't increase battery life, true, but think - when you unplug the charger? When your phone says "100% charged", right? And if your battery starts are wrong the phone may say "I'm charged" when it's actually, say, 40% charged or whatever.
Wiping stats should also provide more accurate battery indicator when it gathers new stats after some usage.

In my experience the battery indicator may work a bit odd (e.g. it goes fast to 40% then stays there for ages). But it didn't keep the battery from charging to full, even when it indicated 100% it still kept charging. But to stay in the topic, clearing the stats might help the "dropping by 30% really fast" issue
Yup, that's what I was talking about - wiping stats won't improve battery life, but might fix indicator accuracy
It could be your background applications eat too much mobile data. Check out your background applications and disable them. Stick with 2G also it improves battery life a lot
if the phone and battery are ok, and you don't have Wifi/BT/3G/EDGE/max_screen_brightness/ or high CPU usage background apps, you should get something like in the attached picture:
AT least for me CM7.2 really improved battery life up to 2 (TWO) days!
Unfortunately CM9 ruined this again and brought it back for ~8h...

Oh ok..
Z means day, sounds logically.
In dutch we call it 'dag'
Thats kinda good battery life, but also without nearly using your phone

You can use CM 7.2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1381355
It is stable and saves battery better than stock rom.
Another thing to check is that Wifi is set to disable when the screen turns off or when plugged in... If not, you can loose 50% battery life in 6 hours. (Which i did once. NOT FUN.)
As well, apps that sync in the background. Ie, mail checking your inbox every hour for new mail; facebook, twitter, myspace checking for new notifications every hour; leaving apps using GPS running in the background like Navigation, My Tracks, etc. Those sorts of things can drain a battery really quickly, beacuse it has to wake up the phone, get the phone to get the required data over the cellular network then go back to sleep again, instead of just letting the phone sleep.
Another thing you can do is to make sure you kill apps. IE, don't use the home button to exit the app, use the back button. That will kill the app instead of leaving it running in the background.
Its kinda funny, this is all stuff people have mentioned already, but it seriously can be the difference between a half a day and a whole day on a battery...

G Pro Kitkat Battery hogs

is it just me or is the kitkat ROM really sucks----battery pretty well?
I also notice that the CPU usage does not drop to 20 percent idle but when I used other ROM (JB based) it becomes 5 percent.
RAM usage is good but I think it hogs the CPU. I used cpuz on measuring the cpu usage

Where can I get the JB rom for OGP?
For me, Android was best at JB and went backwards with KK.
Yes, I've noticed absolutely horrible battery life with KK. KK just feels like it is several different parts all just thrown together.
The only reason I think is that theoretically JB uses more battery is that the system uses more voltage than the kitkat. however, what's less voltage use if the CPU is always busy and wakeups are just everywhere.
Hi guys, maybe you could post in some battery stats so we could know more about whats draining your battery in particular and suggest some fixes. I've actually experienced the opposite with kitkat-battery life for me improved. There was even an instance that I got the phone to last 30 hours, with 5 hours, 48 mins. screen. On another instance I got 15 hours life and 5 hours 25 mins screen on. I just lost the screenshots as I had to reflash stock when i was doing some G3 mods., but nevertheless i could post some new ones.
I value batter life was well and i'm curious to see how yours could be improved too..

What a battery life. 15 hours screen time?
how can we accurately measure? because I only use CPU-Z and installed DS battery saver to save power. right now it only used 2% of my battery during the night. (from 1:45 - 5:50am)
I see. can you tell me what app should I use to determine CPU usage of each app/service?

No, my battery lasted 15 hours, and my screen-on time (total time i spent using the phone) was 5+ hours coz i basically used my phone then for gaming the whole day I suggest you download gsam battery monitor app (it also has a temperature_bat. Usage graph), as well as wakelock detector. Another alternative would be better battery stats. What you would need to observe would be the apps and wakelocks draining your battery both when you are using your phone, and also when its idle.
I also notice that battery capacity is 2A in which it should be 3.140A right?
this shows on kitKat but on jellybean, it's 3.140A again.
is there something wrong with the detection of battery capacity?

What happened was that in kitkat, the permisssions required to be able to access battery stat files changed. Thus, apps w/c could freely access the batter stats in JB cannot gain complete access in Kitkat. This is the case for some battery monitor apps w/c now have lesser accuracy in reporting battery. No worries though, as there are means to bypass this problem. If you have xposed you could install a module for this. Also, some apps like gsam battery monitor come with a separate root companion app. Once you install those batter stats will be accurate.
Here's a screenshot of my battery stats for today..might not be 5+ hrs of screen on as i did a lot of rebooting today (themed with g3 tweaksbox). Nevertheless, this is just to show that kitkat has the potential to provide good battery life. Also enclosed is a screenshot of one of the battery apps i use, gsam.
Hey everybody! I have some findings I absolutely must share so you can benefit as well.
I've been doing some tinkering and I've find a way to significantly increase battery life on the OGP.
First thing you'll want to do is put your phone into airplane mode.
Second, turn your screen brightness down as low as it will go. I mean, all of the way down.
Third, don't play any games on your phone.
Try those three tweaks and see what kind of battery improvement you get.
Unfortunately, Camera has stopped.

Just so you know, first my cell radio and wifi were both on the whole time. Second, i was on auto brightness the whole time. Third, i played clash of clans as you see in there.
If you have not done this already, adjust your cpu to save your battery juice. Set the cpu governor to powersaver or interactive mode if you just using the phone to send msg and make calls. I let my phone run on msm-dvcs and when I'm not plug in. Check out ROM toolbox if you're rooted. Seriously folks, instead of complaint about how much the roms suck the juice, try these different ways to see they make any difference for you.

[Q] Battery drain when idle

Hey guys,
Wanted to know what your experiences with battery life were like.
When I go to sleep, I switch off wifi, bluetooth and data. When I woke up after 8 hours, the phone had lost 7%. Seems to be quite a high number for it being dormant.
In battery settings, the 'Phone Idle' option was top of the list for battery drain.
Anyone else experience battery drain here? What have you done to help improve it?
Cheers.
What's your reception like?

Don't you need root to use better battery stats? Phone hasn't been rooted yet.
Signal strength is decent, not full bars, but close to it.
My last 2 phones (N5 and OPO) have had really good drain whilst dormant, so puzzling as to why this one is playing up!

My vzw was similar. About 10 hours of no use and was down to single digits.
Did a factory reset and it was better... Teach it who's boss...
Last night my phone was off the charger, at 100% to begin with, at around 2 am. I checked it at 6 am and I was still at 100%. For me, idle power usage has been very low.

Ya you need root. Goto WiFi settings then advanced and see if the 2nd option is on, (its something like apps scan for network even if its off) turn that off. If you want to stop Google play services from waking phone from privacy guard that helps a lot too.

The other thing I did (not sure if it is related) was to disable all the VZW apps and processes. WHen I did that I only lost 13% when left over night and I was down to a respectable 73% after a full day of work (though I intentionally did not use my phone much during that time)
This phone sleeps unbelievably well, better than any other phone I've owned. It flatlines very nicely
I did not manage to factory reset the phone overnight, but I did notice that the battery life whilst sleeping was incredible.
Over an 8 hour sleep, I had dropped 2% battery life. I switch data and wifi off when I go to bed. Now I'll keep an eye on SOT. Hoping to hit the 4hr mark. On my first few days, I got 2.5 hrs.

Even I Am experiencing same problem. Any one plz help
I have the International H815 and I have the same problem. Battery drains too much on idle. When I look the battery stats the Doze mode rarely kick ins. Location is off Bluetooth off and I'm on wifi. When Doze works I have really good battery and I can hit 4h of SoT when not I can barely hit 2.5h of SoT. This must be some kind of bug. Phone does not goes to sleep and Doze rarely kicks in.

[HELP] LG G4 battery percentage jumps

Title. H810 no root.
I'm aware the battery life on this one is not really good. That in mind.
-Example, (nothing running on background, everything but wifi off) using it normally until 14%. Pushed sleep button.
-Turn screen on like 5 mins after and it was 15%, used it a bit then again screen off.
-Turned screen on about 6 minutes later and it was 5%.
-Drained it to supposedly 1% then phone turned itself off.
-Turned phone on again and it was 2% and stayed like that for 10 mins while scrolling twitter with 30% brightness, until it turned itself off again and this time battery is to low to turn on.
Tried factory reset, draining till absolute 0% then 100% multiple times but so far nothing works.
Battery's health is good and factory original, no water, no heavy drops.
Let's say i root it (as far as i know its possible in all models), question:
Is there a way to push battery stats to make battery readings accurate?
Or what do you suggest? thanks.

Hi,
What you have is normal.
My owen device jumps frpn 12% to 15% after heavy and log use, thats normal, cause battery is cooling down/pre-ucomputed Energy is not consumed and Battery is calculated new.
The other Jump from 15 to 5 thats somthing you should watch closer. did that happen often?
all in all I have a sugestion but answer this first.
How old is Battery and usage time? (heavy or Soft? SOT? and so one)
Battery readings denpend on the Kernel. You are Stock i think?
Titan Kernel gave me awesome Display Sdreen on Times but battery is jumping too.

Well thats one solved, it wasnt a sudden jump but rather a few minutes discharge doing nothing at all.
Battery is as old as the phone, 2015 and usage, i dont know for sure since it's an import US carrier phone sold to me locally, seems like it was a test phone like the ones you can try at stores. I would say battery use isnt any different than it would be in a daily usage and even if not, would be very rare for a li-ion battery to degrade in such a small amount of time. Gonna ask the seller.
Another thing i notice is very fast battery drain while playing music. I listen to music from home to work, like a 1 hour trip and when i got of home with 81% when i get to my job im at 68%.
And yeah stock everything with android 6.0, as i said currently not even rooted.

Just by a new battery. Original battery can be found for about 8$ at least here in Sweden..
I believe this is normal.
My H815 had it with both the original and a new battery. It used to be really bad when you charged it to 100%, restarted and it would drop immediately to 80%.
Also, especially on stock LG stuff (the graph on custom ROMs seems to be smoothed out), the battery graph was a mess of random spikes and dips

Anyone Else Experiencing Terrible Battery Life???

When I got this phone back in October, the battery would last around 25-30+ hours. I would take it off the charger at 6am, and at 10pm it would have around 40% left at least. After the February update, it started to go downhill. By the time Q was released, it was just bad. It's at under 50% now at about 8-9 hours off the charger. By 10pm, it's on battery saver and down to 8-15%. Like, it just went to total sheet. I did go to Q, but the battery life has been about the same.
I haven't installed anything new really. I've even been uninstalling apps to see if anything helps. GSAM battery monitor doesn't show any irregularities in any of the apps I use though. So, I wonder if the battery itself is just crapping out? I use the Pixel stand, and I'm aware wireless charging can degrade a battery quicker, but this is just ridiculous!
Anyone else experiencing this? Did you find a way to fix it?
I'm otherwise going to wait until DP2 to see if that helps, otherwise I am probably going to call Google for a replacement.
Also, I did a factory reset before Q, and that didn't help whatsoever.
Maybe the battery was new at that time so you were getting at 10pm around 40% left at least.
I used to get around 45% left at 05pm, which is about 12 hours from charging before and after q.
In order to avoid disturbance, iam charging it at 06am 100%, then recharging again at 02pm (battery level about 65) so it will stay about 60% at 10pm.
Iam heavy user, screen is on for long time.
I am also using s10+ and mate 20 pro, both have much better batteries.

If you think your battery is already on its way out you can download AccuBattery. Run it through a few charge cycle and it will give you an estimate of the overall health of your battery. This could help you see if your battery has gone bad vs the updates making battery life worse. I'm honestly leaning towards the updates making things worse. You could also have wakelocks that are preventing your device from going into deep sleep as well. If you're rooted Better Battery Stats is a solid app to help you detect any wakelocks that are preventing your device from going into deep sleep. Good luck!
My battery is not good but I wouldn't say its terrible . It drains pretty quick on standby so I turned off AOD. It drains pretty quick too during usage. I don't think it's a hardware problem, more of poor optimisation. I don't think the battery on the next pixels will be much greater even with a 4000 mah battery because Google relies heavily on sending information back to its servers hence data is always working in the background. Ads are starting to pop up everywhere in most of Google's apps if youve noticed.
Curious what would happen if you restrict Android system in battery manager, does anyone know if it's bad in any way?

So, I checked out Accubattery, and it shows my battery health at 97%, so, maybe it's not the battery after all. I'm still getting 5+ hours SOT, but I was getting that before while having the battery last WAY longer. I actually called Google, and they want to send me a replacement, but, all my funds are tied up in a home loan, so, I can't do it until we close... End of May I'll have a replacement lol.
Thanks for your suggestion though!

Good luck! But sounds like you get better battery life than I do overall! I have a brand new device due to warranty circumstances and I have to charge everyday. But I am a power user so it is to be expected, but I was never impressed with the battery life on the XL 3. Overall the 3 XL has very average to subpar battery life. Their refurbished warranty devices are also a gamble, ranging from ones with mechanical defects to large scratches on the screen!
Soo, Digital Wellbeing may be the culprit, at least for me. Uncheck the usage access for DW, then restrict battery and uncheck background data. Let me know if this helps!
I updated to Q beta 3, and my battery life improved, but I then read somewhere that DW might be affecting battery life, so I did the above. Unfortunately, I didn't wait a day or two to see if Q was the reason for better battery life, so, definitely try this and let me know. I went from maybe 15-16 hours of battery life to off the charger at 6:30 and still almost 40% at 10pm. My phone showed the battery would last until about 8:30am when I went to sleep. This is where my phone was when I bought it. Anyway, hope this helps!
