Can't open TWRP - Huawei P20 Lite Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi, I have a problem with my Huawei P20 lite: after 5 seconds I've opened TWRP, The device reboots to the fast boot. I've tried to install the Treble version of TWRP, but it doesn't change anything. What I can do? PS. I've unlocked the bootloader, and I've downloaded the TWRP from https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p20-lite/development/recovery-testing-t3783587. Thanks for the help

(No longer) Bricked Mi A2 Lite?

I was attempting to install TWRP on my Mi A2 Lite running Android One 9.0, so I can root it with magisk. I unlocked the bootloader, followed twrp.me/xiaomi/xiaomimia2lite.html (I can't post links, since I'm a new user), but when I tried to boot recovery mode after the TWRP install, it said the system was damaged (android one still booted fine,
it was just the recovery). I thought maybe it was because I couldn't decrypt data because of the password lock on TWRP. So I booted TWRP through fastboot again and wiped the system, then retried installing TWRP. It once again claimed to have successfully installed, and I stupidly tried installing Magisk right after. After that point, OS would no longer boot. I tried getdroidtips.com/v10-0-1-0-pdlmifj-pie-mi-a2-lite/ , but the install failed on an error. I'm going to just assume I erased the OS, how can I restore it. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
Edit:
I'm dumb, I just used the flash tool....
Just download the latest firmware from the following URL and flash it with Miflash.
https://en.miui.com/getrom.php?r=354&m=yes&app=false
You don't need TWRP to root this phone. I would suggest you to check out this guide:

Just forget about our TWRP, it's kinda buggy.

I need help!!

I was trying to install custom rom (evolution X 4.6) on my redmi note 8 pro and it went a little bad
I started off normal by unlocking the bootloader and flashing TWRP then I closed avb 2.0 and installed root and everything was fine and my phone was booting normally so then I went TWRP and wiped the default wipe then i clicked install and flashed the rom and so then i clicked reboot and i was greeted with a bootloop and i don't know what to do i tried flashing global MIUI 12 but when it tries to boot it ends up opening TWRP i also made the big mistake of not backing up my device before attempting to flash custom rom someone please help I'm trying to rollback to the factory firmware but i don't know how
i just found out you had to be android 9 to flash custom roms
now I can't even enter twrp and I tried reflashing it and I still can't enter it the only thing I can do rn is enter fastboot
NVM i fixed it using mitoolv2 www .xiaomitool.com/V2/

Working root for Note 8 Miui 12 ?

Hello
Does any1 could root the note 8 with the Miui 12 ?
I could install TWRP and Orange fox recovery but i can't root the phone, the latest magisk which is 20.4 was flashed 3 times with the recovery and i can see the manager installed with the apps but the phone is not rooted.
Any help
Hey, i was able to root my redmi note 8 after last miui update (12.0.1 global). Obviously you have to have an unlocked bootloader, then flash twrp with minimal adb/ fastboot, i followed the tutorial in here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...de-unlocking-bootloader-twrp-rooting-t4031831
But i didn't type "fastboot boot recovery.img" . I would just remove my usb cable from phone then i hold upper volume+power button for few seconds, the phone turns off and takes me to Twrp, i flash Magisk and that's it I'm done.

I'm stuck in format data in TWRP.
Bootloader unlocked, but I installed a lot of apps and used a pattern security and fingerprint.
I feel it was a bad idea, but will removing the security pattern and fingerprint be enough or need resetting the phone?

Help plz

You must reinstall the stock rom and from there install twrp and magisk again

Help - not booting into os!

Hi.
I dont know where to start.
My redmi 5a had the last original software miui 11 based (android 8.1). Then I successfully unlocked the bootloader some days ago and somehow managed to install nitrogenOS (android 11 based).
Then I tried to flash another custom rom and everything went bad. I cant boot into any os anymore. I get stuck at the boot screen with the android logo and after some time it starts again and again...
I already tried to install a custom oreo recover firmware, which works, so I could start twrp again. But then every os I tried to install does not work. Fastboot works.
I am very confused now and dont know what to do next
Since you have bootloader already unlocked you can use Mi Flash (Xiaomi's own flash tool) to flash a stock ROM back to you device. This usually help, but of course, it will make you lose the custom ROM installed and the recovery.
Also, pay attention while flashing with this tool. There is an option at the bottom of the program that locks the bootloader again. If you don't want that you have to change this options every time you close the program.
OK, I started XiaomiTool V2 (on linux) and choose the option, that my device is bricked. I then have to choose my model (Redmi 5a riva) and start in fastboot. Now the tool starts to download and install the following rom to recover the smartphone:
riva_global_images_V11.0.2.0.OCKMIXM_20191106.0000.00_8.1_global_605da3d46d.tgz
But it does not work. The smartphone starts and I can see the start screen (powered by android). After some seconds there is a white screen with the words: just a sec. Then the smartphone starts again and it repeats again and again...
Nobody an idea?

This has happened to me before. From the name of the image that XiaomiTool download and installed I can assume it is an more recent ROM. (since it has 2019 and 8.1 Global in it)
Do not let XiaomiTool download and install a ROM. Download a older Stock ROM yourself and make XiaomiTool install the ROM that you have download.
As I said previously. Try to download the original Stock ROM that came with your phone when you bought. BEFORE ANY official updates from Xiaomi. This have worked for me.
Hi.
Thanks It works now. I have installed the stock rom.
Is there a guide to get from stock rom (nougat) to custom rom?

So firstly you need a recovery image (TWRP, PBRP, OF, Batik Recovery) to replace MIUI Recovery. flash it via fastboot with adb (you can do it right?).
After that reboot and push the button to recovery and remember make backup firstly or you can ignore it and yeah do it own your risk.
wipe or advanced wipe Cache, Data, System, Dalvik, Vendor.
and then install the CUSROM, and GApps.
and yeah only that to install CUSROM i know
