Samsung pay in USA - Samsung Galaxy A70 Questions & Answers

Anyone know what version would work with Samsung pay in USA. I've sold the FN, it doesn't work on the MN either.
Is there any trick to make it work on non USA Samsung devices.

I'm So Sorry..

It Is With A Heavy Heart And My Deepest Regret That I Must Inform You....
There is NO WAY WHATSOEVER To Achieve Access To Samsung Pay With This Device ANYWHERE In The United States of America.
You Have Two Options...
1) Head Over To Your Nearest SPRINT Store...
And Purchase The Samsung Galaxy A50.. Which Went On Sale June 21, 2019.
It's Samsung Pay *MINI* But If Google Pay Does Not Work For You... It's All You Got At This Pricepoint.
2) Bestbuy has Samsung Galaxy S9's starting at: $399.99 ( About The Same Pricepoint ) in all colors with immediate in store activation.
That Device Will Give You The "Full-Monty" Of Features.. Including Samsung Pay.

$530 for GSM version directly from Amazon

I thought I share this. Amazon.com now has the Samsung i9250 Galaxy Nexus 16GB (Unlocked, GSM) Fulfilled by Amazon for $530 with free shipping. Their normal and very fair return policy applies. One may find it a few dollars cheaper elsewhere, but it is hard to go wrong with Amazon.
For comparison, Daily Steals (no customer service) had it for $535 only a couple weeks ago. Expansys has it for $570.
This is really tempting
I agree that it's totally worthwhile to buy direct from Amazon even if it's not the absolute cheapest price. Right now there are three different Fulfilled by Amazon sellers competing against one another, which makes me think prices may drop even more soon.
Has anyone tried to return a defective phone that they bought Fulfilled by Amazon? I would think they would handle that well, but I'd like to hear people's actual experiences.
Also, would these phones be under warranty? Presumably they were originally marketed overseas. Would that mean I have to deal with an overseas branch of Samsung, or would I be totally out of luck?
The Fulfilled by Amazon item I linked to uses Amazon's return policy. I didn't check the other ones. Returning even a non-defective phone should be no problem as I have done in the past.
If amazon somehow helped with the warranty like expansys does, I would get this immediately, but I imagine that its the same issue as before.
Anyone know more about this?
You can register the device and its serial number on samsung.com as bought from Amazon, which is an authorized Samsung US reseller. You can then initiate warranty claims directly with Samsung. No need to go through Amazon. In contrast to Expansys, this will also mean a quicker turn-around on the warranty claim. Registering directly with Samsung also adds 3 months to the warranty period for a total warranty of 15 months.
So what's important here is that it is fulfilled by amazon and not the fact that it is being sold by a different company (FGS Trading in this case)?
You still get the same warranty and can register your product as being purchased over amazon?
Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) is a service we offer sellers that lets them store their products in Amazon's own warehouses, and we directly pack, ship, and provide customer service for these items.

Really? Is this true?
Man, then I think I'm going to hold off on buying it from ebay and wait for amazon's price to go down a bit.

Source? I've called Samsung's international number, and was told that your receipt must show that the phone was purchased in the country that will handle warranty claims (which excludes the US).

Same here....they said warranty has to go through the phones intended country of use + you have to show receipt that it was purchased in that country.
All amazon offers over some of the other deals sites is that you'll probably be able to make a return if needed. But I doubt any warranty will be provided.

British websites
If you bought from a UK website and had it delivered here, would you be able to get warranty service via Samsung UK?
Handtec has the phone for 335 pounds, plus 15 pounds shipping to the US. According to Google, 350 pounds is currently worth $555. So you'd be essentially paying $25 for a UK warranty. To make this work, you'd also need a credit or debit card that doesn't charge foreign transaction fees.

does anybody know if the Galaxy Nexus GSM mentioned in this thread
were originally the European or Asian version?
ThankS!
I registered my GSM Galaxy Nexus just fine on samsung.com. When entering the serial numbers the manufacturing date shows up.

When I tried to register a Nexus, it gave me the Verizon one instead, not the GSM one.

Yep...the GSM model number isn't on the US site to begin with. Also entering a GSM serial comes up as invalid.
According to androidcentral.com a regional carrier in Iowa is getting the GN tomorrow for $609.99. This is your chance if you want a US warranty.

Or instead of going to Iowa, you buy it from a deal site for $460 and just get insurance or don't break your phone.

That doesn't include a defect out of box. And I haven't seen a US cellphone insurance company that would insure grey market devices or be able to replace a broken galaxy nexus.

Where to Buy? Canada, Hong Kong or Taiwan?

I will be in Hong Kong from September 10 to 24 with a 3 night layover in Taiwan. I have been looking for the price of the device in Taiwan but I have not been able to find it. I called a shop in Hong Kong who told me their version is Snapdragon not Exynos.
Question:
The CDN version has the $200 off trade in phone promo. Obviously in Asia there is no promo for that, however there is really no tax in Asia.
Anyone know the price of the device in Taiwan? Is it worth paying a premium ($200 ish more) for an Exynos model? Anyone know where I can buy it when I'm in Taiwan; I can't find web stores from Taiwan providing information re: this.
If I buy in Asia, can I get warranty servicing from Samsung in Canada?
Thanks!

Definately worth the extra cash for a bootloader unlocked exynos device.
I dont think sammy Canada will warranty service a non Canadian device though or even if they can as the hardware is slightly different.

If you've got something in writing from Samsung (which this website certainly is) that will trump whatever any sales rep says.

The international warranty is only mentioned in the South Korea website. The Canadian website has no mention of it.
I guess make sure to check what kind of warranty is offered in the country of purchase because there may be differences.

I just realized that the link I provided says "Samsung Mobile Computer" not mobile phone. I think we should check the fine print before purchasing abroad, if that's important. If I call Samsung Canada's warranty servicing and get an answer I will post it.
Here is my conversation with SS online:
C: Hypothetically, if I purchased a Samsung phone abroad, and there is a problem with it, can I submit the repair to Samsung Canada?
SS: Thank you for waiting. I'll be with you in just a moment.
SS: No, if you have purchased the phone abroad and would like to get it repaired in different country, you need to contact local service technicians. Samsung will not repair the phones purchased that are purchased in different countries.

Galaxy Note 7 duos FD version replaced

Has anyone replace his Note 7 duos device?
Has anyone informations about when is going to be available for replacement the NOTE 7 duos FD version in dubai or everywhere else?
I have read something about 1 to 16 October...
Is that true? 1,5 mounth to replace a device? Are people of Samsung getting crazy...
It depends what region the phone was supposed to be sold in and who you bought it from. If you bought it first hand from an authorized Samsung reseller or Samsung direct in the phone's correct region they'd be the ones to help you. If you bought it from eBay, a third party non-authorized reseller, and out of its selling region you're in the same gray area a lot of people here are. Good luck regardless.

Australian Compensation

Hey guys it hasnt been announced yet but if you download the My Samsung app in Australia then you will be given a $50 voucher of your choice. You can choose Myer, Hoyts, Netflix or a couple of others.
Thanks for Samsung for offering this compensation for the hassle of the recall in Australia.

Yeah I redeemed mine today for Woolworths. Was a little disappointed I couldn't spend it at the Samsung store, still want some accessories.
I'll trade it to someone going food shopping I guess.

Pre-order includes Samsung Buds+?

There have been some discussions during the last week of Jan regarding a bundle of S20 + buds+ for free if you Pre-order.
I'm on Tmobile US and did not see any mentioning of that, nothing was mentioned also during the announcement.
Does anyone have any details on that?
Thanks.

It does and it doesn't! Pre-order on Samsung.com and you get a $200 samsung shop credit, which you can use for the buds+.
I'm on the tmobile Jump program so I was planning to upgrade through them.
Last year I did the same for my S10+. They ran similar promotion and I got my Buds..
Just hoping that tmobile will do the same though no info from there on that.
amazon rulz
hi everyone,
pre-ordered my S20 Ultra Silver Grey on Amazon and l got the confirnation that after i will receive them, i will also get the Buds+ from Samsung. super!
Pre-ordered a S20 Ultra 5G yesterday on Italian Samsung website and, yes, there is the free buds+ promotion. Yeah!!!!
For the S10 you bought the phone then submitted a receipt to Samsung. They give you a credit for the price of the buds, but you could spend it on other things if you wanted.

I think there was a form I had to fill up with Samsung... But whatever that is, I hope I will eventually get the Buds+ for free if I get my phone through Tmobile.
I get the buds plus for free as well , just as well with the 1500 spent on the 512gb version , only a pain not getting mine until march 12 ( holland) and not on the 6th like everyone else.went for the grey version as i have not yet had a grey phone before. The option for the free buds was in the ordering options on samsungs website.
pre ordered from UK Vodafone not sure how you submit proof of purchase for the buds+ offer when you buy through their call centre?
anyone have experience in this with previous deals with UK Vodafone?
So in the US, we get a $200 credit, no free buds. I was hoping for the free bauds, and the credit. Oh well.
Doesn't the freebie depend on if you buy from the carrier or from samsung? I know it has differed in the past. Hoping for the credit though so I can get the buds and a case

In the us, only the $200 credit is available.
It comes with a $200 credit, and have the option to spend or use it during the pre order. I used it to buy the Galaxy Watch 2, added $49 only.
It depends on the region. US and Korea get a credit and for example Europe gets the Buds+.
T-Mobile just reminded me you get the credit when you sign in and register with your new phone on Shop Samsung. It'll be the $200 credit.
Just preordered the Ultra. Used $200 credit for the free AKG Noise Canceling cans instead (I already have way too many true wireless earbuds, but didn't have any NC anything, so that made up my mind).
You have to go on the Samsung shop app once you get your phone if you ordered outside of Samsung.com or Samsung shop and enter your imei and upload your receipt from your carrier. Then you will get $200 in like 2-6 weeks. I actually got $235 because I registered when they first sent emails out about pre-orders.
I got an email this morning saying pre orders were ready. When I clicked the link within the email, I followed through with the order and was able to get the $235 instant credit since the email was tied to my reservation. Was able to order myself the new Galaxy Buds+, the 45 watt fast wall charger, and black silicon case. Not a bad deal at all especially with me getting $600 off for my S10+. Said delivery by March 4th, less then 2 weeks away ???
