China to global - Xiaomi Mi 6 Questions & Answers

Hi, I was hoping to get some help switching from my current China rom to the global.
Does it matter what version of the China rom I have in order to install the global rom in place of it?
I have an mi 6 China rom updated to the latest miui 10.3 and running Android 8.0.
Thanks heaps.

Unlock bootloader and use xiaomi tool, its almost idiot-proof utility. Select fastboot flash method, flash in recovery didn't provide full conversion to global.

Good luck.

New phone. Want to use custum rom

Hello friends. I just received my phone xiaomi redmi note 5 pro Chinese version of honkong goldway.
Currently the bootloader is unlocked (the seller said that) and there is a global rom that is installed: 8.8.2 beta.
I would like to install the miui 10 stable rom xiaomi.eu Is this safe? and if so, what is the procedure to do? Thank you in advance.

Install Official MIUI 10 ZIP

Hello Everyone, I was running miui 10 beta weekly when I stopped getting software updates - which I assume was because the stable version was out. So I thought of trying out custom ROMs but sadly, none of the ROMs give me as much SOT as miui 10. I'm on RR 6.2.0 with TWRP. I downloaded the official miui 10.0.1.0 ROM but I'm unable to flash it in TWRP. Is there any way to install it?
And it's a Redmi Note 5 AI Global Variant, but now in settings of Official RR 6.2.0 it says "Redmi Note 5 Pro" which is the Indian Variant, can that be the reason why I'm unable to flash the Redmi Note 5 Global Stable ROM?
If you want to go back to fully stock I'd recommend to use Miflash, the official Xiaomi flashing utility. Just go to en.miui.com to download latest rom for your device and follow the instructions on there to install.

I have miflash and I have flashed other Mi phones in fastboot mode with it. But I just can't find a fastboot ROM for miui 10 for Redmi note 5 global. Have you come across one? I googled and came up with nothing.

difference between Cina and global firmware (not rom)

Hi all. Does anyone could explain me the difference between the two firmware.
On xiaomifirmwareupdater.com there are both of them, but I haven't found what is the difference?
May I install a China fw on a global device or I will brick it?.
Tnx
It's safe to flash it. Xiaomi EU uses the China Beta ROMs and Globalized them to include other languages that would be in a Normal Global beta rom from Xiaomi...so with that being said I feel it's safe because if Xiaomi EU and Miroom uses the China Beta as their base then I assume that you flashing just the firmware will not brick your device.

Have you any idea where to find the differences?

Question Help in Updating Software on Mi 11x India variant

Hi all,
Have been back for a query. I have a Mi 11x 5G India variant. I had installed Miui EU ROM long back when Mi 11x 5G India variant was supported by Miui EU ROM developers but in between that is around February 2022 onwards devslopers had removed support for Mi 11x 5G India variant and installing such ROM was causing issues even though Poco F3 and Mi 11x 5G India are basically same handset. There was a workaround for installing that EU ROM on Mi 11x India but I never done it.
Now I have found out that they i.e., MIUI EU ROM have again started providing ROM support for Mi 11x India device. Hence my query is how do I update to the lastest Miui eU ROM.
I am already on Miui EU ROM where version is V12.5.18.0.RKHCNXM. Now the lastest EU ROM is V14.0.5.0.TKHCNXM. The latest ROM is a Hybrid ROM which means it can be installed via Recovery and fastboot both ways.
My query is can I update to the latest ROM directly by just downloading the ROM package and do a update via Recovery or do I have to follow some other procedure. I don't want to loose my data.
Please help. Thank you in advance.
Going from A11 to A13 seems tricky without formatting the data.
Personally I would flash the latest A12 then the A13 by changing TWRP for the non-hybrid versions.
Hi everyone... Awaiting for replies from people here. I seriously want to understand how do I proceed
Flash the latest V13 with the Twrp then flash the latest V14 in fasboot mode with the update.bat file.
Update the Twrp if you want to use the Ota rather than the Fastboot method.

Sorry for my question again. Miui EU hadn't had support for Mi 11x for almost a year now. The last they released a build was v12.5.19.0 which I never upated to. Post this they released HMK40_POCOF3_V13.0.2.0.SKHCNXM_v13-12-fastboot.zip. And from hereon whenever someone updated this in Mi 11x 5G Indian variant there were some software issues. And they continued with this till v13.0.7.0. And now they have again started giving support for Mi 11x 5G Indian variant aliothin device with update HMK40_POCOF3_V14.0.4.0.TKHCNXM_v14-13.zip. So please let me know what I should do. I am on Android 11 with Miui 12.5 and there was no Miui 13 with Android 12 for Mi 11x Aliothin device. And now they have released Miui 14 with Android 13.
I am really confused as to what to do. Will be very thankful if you keep it simple.

My bad sorry, forced to flash the latest V14(stable or weekly) with the first.install.bat file (your data will be erased).
You can use Micloud or third-party apps to back up your data.
you can try the Elite Rom here on XDA by HassanMirza. That is based on EU rom. I just installed it.
