Unlock Band 4 - Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro Questions & Answers

I was reading this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note/general/unlock-lte-bands-step-step-xiaomi-mi-t3084774
Although the thread is centered around trying to unlock band 20, it looked like people had great success in unlocking band 4.
Does anyone know if I follow the same steps, if it would work for the Redmi 6 Pro?
All I need is Band 4. I might even consider buying a K20 Pro if the same steps work.

TMO band unlock

So I saw this thread for the S5 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/how-to-add-rf-lte-frequency-bands-to-t2886059) that's says it's possible to unlock a bunch of bands that will make it work better on other carriers.
My question is: is this possible to do on the Verizon Note 4 running CM13? I switched to T-Mobile and am only getting EDGE in an LTE area. Since it happens on another Note 4 on CM13 and an iPhone 5, I was thinking it's because this phone only works with Band 4, while TMO might use the other bands where I am.
If that guide will work, I'd love to follow it and at least get LTE working on some of our phones (whole family moving to TMO), but I want to make sure I might actually be able to do this, so I don't break my phone.
Edit:
Should I trust this guide (http://dorylabs.com/how-to-install-different-modems-radio-baseband-on-galaxy-note-4/) and flash the ROM modem?
I second that ??

Mi5s Band 20 unlock?

Is it possible to unlock LTE B20 on Mi5s using Qualcomm's tool?
I would tend to "no", as it so far also didn't work with the previous MI 5, but who knows what the future brings.
Here the thread I mean: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5/how-to/progress-trying-to-unlock-bands-t3337476
hope to unlock band20
It would be great if we see Band 20 unlocked

Unlocking 5s Bands ?

Has anyone successfully unlocked all the frequency bands for the 5s. I did see a thread on the Mi5 being unlocked. Secondly if they can be unlocked does it actually work on all the North American LTE bands, specifically Rogers in Canada.
any help appreciated.....if it can be done I'll be buying the phone. I like the specs.
I'm a bit confused at what you're asking here. 1 minute of googling tells me Rodgers only supports LTE bands 4, 7 (with 12 being deployed) and only in 'select markets' (source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rogers_Wireless#LTE)
Further 2 seconds of googling shows me that the mi 5s radio only supports LTE band 1(2100), 3(1800), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 38(2600), 39(1900), 40(2300), 41(2500) (source: http://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_mi_5s-7260.php)
So basic logic is telling me that if have Rodgers, and you don't have coverage by band 7, you don't have LTE.
There is no magical bullet to make a radio support frequencies it does not support. (RTFM).
Seems some people have had some success:

alloysious,
OP is inquiring whether frequency band 4 can be unlocked for Mi5S?
viperpiper,
Please keep posted, if you come across any info that help to unlock the band 4 for Mi5S. I am also looking for that.

Try this:
From Dialer: *#*#4636#*#*
Select SIM you want (for me was 'Phone info2')
Select 'TD-SCDMA, DMS/WCDMA and LTE' to change your radio settings
Select last one on list above Unknown.
(for me was TD-SCDMA, LTE, CDMA, EVDO, GSM/WCDMA)
You should now have everything your radio supports enabled.
--- edit---
Looks like some others on this forum have had some success with other phones. Try it out and let us know-

Is somebody going to try?
I just saw, from what I could read, is that the original Mi5 (not the Mi5s) they managed to unlock all the bands but 20. So could the same method be used and if so would that make the Mi5s compatible with North American carriers ?

Not sure - you should give it a try, if you currently don't have a working LTE phone
So OP did it work? could you unlock band 4?
I've been following this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5/how-to/progress-trying-to-unlock-bands-t3337476/page71. Nothing good has happened so far on b20.

Need pro xda help

Hello it's turbo again.
In my area we continue to lose band 4 in the past 6 months ....to now my mi max 3 will often not let me speak on a call. ... When I answer or dial.
.. I'm at wits end I bought a Moto g7. To make calls do to looking for work. But I don't like it but I cant be missing calls.... To get the mimax3 back I can only guess maybe more bands will save my mi max3.
Can anybody unlock more bands for me. If I pay shipping and for your time and knowledge.
Come on some one has to know how to add bands to the mi max 3
Please help
Hi,
I think the Telecom band is associated with hardware, not software.
For example, you can check post on forums the Redmi K20 Pro.

Good luck.

Question Improving 4G and 5G aggregation, good idea?

Can anyone tell me if the process documented here is a good idea or will produce noticeable improvements? Or even better, tell me if this is a horrible idea and will ruin my phone haha. I'm running crDroid and I'm familiar with MSM tools so I'm not afraid of voiding a warranty haha.
