I’ve already formatted my HDD to Fat32 and make partition to 128Gb ( known limited size as thumb drive)
Still not detect on Fire TV.

Many thanks

I have a DAS with USB 3.0 and I plug it into my USB ports on my router. Then all devices in the house have access. All my fire tv can play content through kodi because it support samba.
If you have a stick it doesn't support USB. Only micro USB which is for power so you would need an otg adapter if you want to plug directly. And I believe only gen2 or higher supports otg

This solution might be work an external storage with NTFS, F2FS, EXT4 and extFAT: https://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-tv/development/magisk-amazon-firetv4k-ntfs-f2fs-ext4-t3991981

[Q] Possible to connect HDMI and ext HDD simultaneously?

O great ones, your sage advice would be very much appreciated.
The following items are in the picture :
2013 Nexus 7
1TB hard drive (NTFS)
OTG cable
Slimport to HDMI adapter (and HDMI cable, of course)
Nexus Media Importer
Sony Bravia HDTV
Is there any way to connect both the HDD and the HDMI cable simultaneously? We can play most things to the TV via DLNA (BubbleUPnP), but a less finicky setup would be to have the HDD and the HDMI connected to the Nexus, without any DLNA in the picture. Of course there is only one slimport jack...
Any suggestions?

Fire Phone OTG

Hi all,
I bought 2 Fire Phones, that I possibly will receive next week, and would like to know if is true that the Fire-Phone does Not Support USB OTG?
If this is true, I do not understand as a phone with high price and also much quality, does not support OTG, that other cheaper phones already have!!!
Which brings me to another question, we then will have to use only bluetooth and WIFI to transfer all our internal files to other devices, like External Drives and Micro USB-Memory Sticks ??
So, the only use of the Fire-Phone Micro-USB port, is for Charging and to Connect the phone to a PC?
If is true that the Fire-Phone doesn't support OTG, then this is one of the worst things that Amazon unfortunately forgot to include in this model, that supposedly would compete with other high-end phones!!
I haven't tested it personally, but OTG checker seems to think that support is there

Thanks jondecker76 for the quick reply!
So, OTG checker seems to think that support is there??
Anyone here have an Micro-USB OTG Memory Stick, an OTG Memory Reader or any External Hard Drive to connect to the Fire-Phone External MicroUSB Port and could check if it really works?
I just want to know if the Fire-Phone recognizes an External MicroUSB Device, if is connected to the phone MicroUSB-Port?
Thanks in advance!

Where would I look for an OTG Drive? I plugged in my OTG cable and USB drive (which works with my N7 2013 for things like keyboards, but not USB storage), but I'm not sure where to check in ES file explorer or otherwise for a USB drive. I don't have an OTG SD reader specifically to test, though.
I couldn't get OTG to work on my Fire phone. Tried ES File Explorer, Stickmount and Nexus Media Importer.
I just tested USB OTG on the fire phone with a keyboard and it was a no go. Right now I'm typing on that keyboard via OTG on a tablet so it's not the keyboard. I wonder if a rooted fire phone could enable OTG though.
Amazon, pls bootloader
I bought the Sony micro/regular one that was a Kindle deal couple months ago. Fire phone didn't see it at all, the Sony app installed but did not launch automatically when I connected the drive.
I can also confirm that it doesn't work, tried it this morning with a Sony OTG cable and my external hard drive while it does work on the Sony Xperia Z1 compact.
I am using fire phone for past two yrs also I have otg. I connected otg to fire phone it is not working... I tried in Many ways but no use. It won't work on Fire phone..
Thanks!
OTG is not supported by the Kernel
otg fire phone - ?
amazon offers an otg adapter for 2,39 EUR within germany for fire phone.

(Q) How to connect HDD to Nexus 7?

So I just bought my Nexus 7 yesterday and it's really nice. I bought an OTG cable to connect my keyboard dock. It worked perfectly but I am now trying to connect an IDE 320GB HDD using a Sabrent HDD SATA/IDE to USB adapter. I managed to get it connected only ONCE for a second or two to the tab. Using StickMount it told me that the drive was located in SDA1 but I am trying to look for but nothing is there mounting it again in StickMount shows that there is no drive connected. I have it hooked up to a power supply and I can hear it whirring so I don't know what the problem is. Pic:

Hi!
What file system do you use? NTFS?
Try "Paragon NTFS & HFS+".
I find USB Mount All works best properly lists partition types and sizes, remember stickmount doesn't support ext4 also.

I thought we couldnt connect an external HDD to the tablet because it will not supply enough power through the micro usb connector to power it up. I have a 1TB Toshiba USB external HDD, will I be able to mount it using stickmount or any other app?

No - needs EXTERNAL poser added to the process. Some OTG adapters allow for this.
External hdd needs to be formatted to FAT32 NTFS wont work

OTG on Fire TV.

Anyone know where I might find an OTG cable for the Fire TV (Not stick)? It uses a USB A connector only - I can only find micro otg adapters.
I used a regular USB A<-->A cable that I got for like 2eur in order to access the FireTV's fastboot.
Just looking for an otg cable for it. Not trying to access fastboot

What are you wanting to achieve with an OTG cable?
Hooking up a Dual Shock 4 controller to it.
It works out of the box using a standard cable for regular apps like limelight or just games in general
However for the remote play app for PS4, the button mapping is off. A few of the buttons do not work. Thankfully twisted89 has modded the app to work but it requires an otg connection. Confirmed working on my phones using an otg cable (micro usb). Only problem is I cannot find an otg cable for the fire TV.
Try a USB A male to microusb female adapter between the otg adapter and the fire tv
Thanks I'll give it a go
Are you familiar with what an OTG cable is compared to a regular micro USB cable? OTG simply shorts the "sense" pin to ground, which when plugged into an appropriate device will enable that device to use its USB port as a Host Mode port (instead of normal operation as a slave/peripheral device).
Full size USB A has no "sense" pin, and the Fire Tv automatically operates as a Host device unless its in bootloader(?) mode and connected to another host computer (for fastboot).

USB adapter for powering both Fire Stick 4k and external HDD?

Yo, have anyone tried some more powerful adapter for powering both Fire Stick 4k and external HDD? I know that it's possible to have powered USB hub that would power external HDD, but I would prefer to have just more powerful adapter with just one USB slot, then I would just split it with OTG cable (I'm using it with usb stick now). Considering that Fire Stick plug is 5W/1A, would 10W/2A do it for powering both HDD and stick? Or does it need to be 15W/3A adapter?

You have to use a variable power supply or boost/buck converter.
Fire TV stick 4K powers with a 5.25v/1A. You have recommended to use 2A and above
