twrp problems - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Questions & Answers

It seems like every time I use twrp, I get an error if "zip verification failed" or "error 7". How can I fix this?

You are trying wrong twrp, use the pie twrp for pie firmware and Oreo for oreo firmware.

Use latest pitchblack recovery for whyred. Its working perfect.

Official TWRP is not compatible with Pie Firmware. Try my recovery - working on both firmwares well.

TWRP not able to flash OxygenOS 3.2.4?

I've downloaded the following from oneplus.net: OnePlus3Oxygen_16_OTA_013_all_1608061823_765c081a5c8e4dad.zip
I have confirmed with md5 the zip.
I cannot install this using TWRP 3.0.2-1; I'll get error 7, then after attempting to reboot TWRP will tell me that there is no OS installed. Am I using the correct TWRP?
To install OxygenOS 3.2.4 I have to sideload via official recovery.
Error 7 is quite common. But I got it while I was trying to flash other rom. In that case, you wipe all except internal, and then flash rom etc
I've tried that; multiple times. Same thing.

Error Updating op3 to 7.1.1

Fixed!
I have a rooted oneplus3 phone and I am trying to update to Android 7.1.1 from 6.0.1 so that I can install the newest version of elementalx but keep getting an error that stops me every time I try and flash an update using TWRP
Android Version: 6.0.1
OxygenOS Version: 3.1.3
Kernal Version:
3.18.20-perf+
[email protected] #1
My phone is rooted and I have installed the twrp recovery version 3.0.2-0 on it. I previously installed xposed framework on my device but flashed the uninstaller for it recently.
The error I keep recieving is as follows:
E: unknown command [logs]
Updater process ended with Error: 7
Error installing zip file /sdcard/oneplus3oxygen_16_ota_051_all_1704112009_2521.zip
updated partition details...
...done
Is there something more I need to do before I can flash the file or am I just not using the correct one? and do I even need to update my phone to 7.1.1 or will flashing elementalx do that in the process?
Thanks for any help anyone can provide!

is that the reason why I am getting the error? Idk why I wouldnt be able to flash it with an older version of twrp
The unknown command alone feels like an error you'd normally encounter with an older recovery. Can you try updating and see if it works?
Allways use the latest Twrp recovery. Custom recovery it's better, because you can instal what ever rom you want. I use blue-spark v.32.
I updated twrp and it did indeed fix it! thanks a bunch for the help!

[HELP!!!] Blue and red static after installing any latest custom recovery

So here's the biggest hair pulling dilemma:
The problem started after installing xiaomi.eu rom version 10.3.
I was using crDroid v5.4 (Android 9) Rom in peace. Then after trying the above mentioned rom,
my Orangefox recovery R8.3 was not showing. It was showing red lines. Then i installed various recoveries, everything is exactly like that.
Except TWRP Oreo By FenFern.
Now i'm stuck at MIUI 10 (8.1 Oreo) with the above mentioned (only) working recovery.
N.B: Installing Pie roms with oreo twrp results into distorted lines in the OS after installation.
How do i install the latest TWRP (or OrangeFox) recovery and Android Pie roms?

Hey there,
You need to flash the latest stock miui rom using MIflash tool. i'm guessing the phone is encrypted in which case you wont be able to flash any other custom roms in the recovery too. (Unless you have a SD Card).
Alternatively, if you do have a SD card, then flash Batik recovery.I've it on my xiaomi.eu 10.4 rom and i can confirm that it works.
Let me know if it works for you.
cheers.

Arrow rom update problem

Good morning. I can't install Arrow rom update on whyred, it appears "modem firmware from MIUI V10.3.1.0. PEIMIXM or newer stock ROMs is prerequisite to be compatible with this build.updater process ended with ERROR: 7"
How can I solve the problem? Mount Arrow pie, Magisk and bootloader unlocked. I apologize for bad English
Flash miui1 10.3 recovery file with twrp and than lazy flasher zip file after successfully bootup
Flash twrp 3.3x pie based recovery than flash Arrow os
Wipe data, system, cache, dalik is recommended...
Is enough to flash the zip here and then you can proceed in your flashes

Any idea how to install TWRP onto Android 10?

For some reason, I managed to get Pie (One UI 1.0) working on my G960F yesterday (with root) and it worked fine until it randomly started boot looping, so I flashed it back to stock Pie and updated to Q. But now, I can't downgrade back to Pie because I get an error in download mode saying "SW REV. CHECK FAIL(BOOTLOADER) DEVICE: 8, BINARY 7". It usually appears after it says RECOVERY in Odin. Luckily I can get the device to boot back to Q, but I really wanna Root it or install a Custom ROM, because I hate One UI, so is there any way to install TWRP on Q yet?
Yes, install twrp through odin, make sure you boot straight into twrp from download mode. Then wipe date and reboot recovery not the system. Then flash the multi disable zip from the download link. Then flash magisk and reboot. All done
