What cases do you use? - LG G8 Accessories

I love this device and I'm waiting to get the Tech21 case for cheap on ebay for this phone as I loved it on my V30+.
Figured I'll go colorful until then.
I settled on this and it'll be here next week.View attachment 4777486
Got it in today.

This is an excellent 2 piece case with hard shell protection on all corners and a nice soft touch feel for 9 bux. It's very, very close to the Incipio cases I had on my S5. My Incipios have slightly softer tpu, whick looks just a bit thicker at shock points. On the other hand, this case is a little thinner, while remaining tough. It even has more hard protection on the top of the phone, and the plastic case feels stronger for that extra edge.
It's so cheap, I bought both color combos to mix and match, plus I'll have the replacement for whenever the plastic eventually breaks from a fall (even my Incipio cases broke to save the phone).
LG G8 ThinQ Case, Androgate... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RRMQNKZ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
If you use this, remember to install and remove in 2 steps. Like most good 2 piece cases, the plastic shell holds the phone tightly, be careful how it flexes around the key cutouts during removal. It seems smoothest to remove the power button edge first.
Although the Incipio feels slightly softer, I'm confident the protection of this is roughly equal in everyday use.

CoverOn case rocks
Great case. TP around the edges and poly-carbonate back that is clear. Works great with wireless charging. very good fit.

It doesn't have that rainbow look due to the back being glass?

I have the following cases, but am currently just using a skin from slickwraps.
Ghostek Covert
CruzerLite Leather Texture
Ringke Fusion X
Ringke Fusion
Encased Slim Armor
I have also spent a good amount of time at the carrier shops trying out the overpriced (but pretty great) cases:
Speck Presidio Grip
Tech21 Evo Check
Casemate Tough Clear
If anyone has questions or wants photos, let me know.

I really want to see how that CruzerLite looks in real life. It was the one I was torn on before I picked that blue one I've got. I definitely want the Tech21 but it's gonna have to wait until I can find one on eBay for less someday.

I'll take some photos once I'm home. It's a very nice case and I use it when I get tired of looking at a greasy, fingerprinted device. I've have a love/hate with Tech21 cases - they're great protection but they add so much width. I'd say they're worth it if you really want that 10ft drop protection without going to something beefier. I'm a desk jockey so I'm really enjoying the phone+skin and I only slap on a case if I know I'm going to be somewhat active. It's a shame there aren't more options for LG phones. No love if your name doesn't start with Apple or Samsung.

Septembersrain - It does have a few small areas on the clear back smaller than a dime that look a bit extra shiny since they are in contact with the glass. Not rainbow though.

This case is awesome, very sturdy, has a lip to protect edges of screen, slim, supports wireless charging, kick stand on back for propping up phone in landscape mode, 3 colors, perfect cutouts.

Same as you will similar, simple and effective and still showing its colour.

I'm rockin the Ringke Fusion, aqua blue on black. Case does its job. Looks nice. Not very comfortable to hold though.

I'm using the spigen tough armor. Loving it so far! doesn't add too much bulk, but it's a solid case. the kickstand is a fantastic feature

I use TPU cases from X-Level.

Spigen Slim Armor, can't really go wrong with that one
And for $20 it's a decent price imo.

Spigen Liquid Crystal
Spigen Liquid Crystal with a Speck Grab Tab.

literally using the one it came with, thick and sturdy enough and hasn't yellowed yet either (crossing my fingers)

I use these also, they're great cases and work perfectly with wireless charging.

any love for the G8S? i guess not

Im using the Ghosttek case and so far its been what I was wanting. No more sliding off flat tables, or out of my pocket in the car and falling down under the seat anymore. All the buttons work well and has a minimal effect on the overall size of the phone very good case if you arent looking for otterbox style

No branding. Buttons are dimples, work fine. Cutouts are perfect.
Mix of matte and gloss black.
TPU is tight and resistant to pulling off the edges of the screen.
Ordered late Friday night, got Monday morning.

Looks pretty good. Question: The amazon title says "and screen protector." This isn't a case with a built in screen protector, is it? I have a screen protector on mine already, so I don't need a case that has a screen protector built in, like an Otterbox or something. Just want a snap on case. So provided that it's just a case and a screen protector comes separately, how's the case fit regarding the screen? Does it seem like it'd interfere with a screen protector? Thanks
Screen protector is not part of the case. Just received this. Very nice
Awesome, thanks for the reply. Sold it for me, buying now
It just includes a cheapo plastic stickon protector.
The edge that wraps around the front is small, shouldnt interfere with any normal screen protectors.
You also have the quicksand case right? Which do u prefer this or the quicksand?

Quicksand is obviously slimmer. The sandy texture is nice.
This provides WAY more protection though. The matte texture is also nice.
It's a matter of what you need.
Just got this Hyperion case in. Perfect cutouts, perfect form factor still kept (it's very slim). $6-7 on Amazon, can't be beat.
+1 from me. I've got the clear case, nicely shows off moto maker colors while still giving it that bit of extra protection.
I also ordered this one and was pleasantly surprised.

Got it today and love it. Wondering if I should've ordered the clear one though so I could see more of the back.
I got the frost clear one for a white moto x and it looks really good. The back has a nice matte feel to. I think this is the best tpu case for the moto x. I'd like a simliar hard case that is below 10$ but I can't seem to find one. Clear, dimple cut out, thin with a little lip for lay on the table.
Got this in frost clear. It's not bad but still too thick for my liking. Biggest complaint is that buttons are hard to press, would prefer a cutout of the buttons. Would've liked the whole thing to be matte and to reduce the edges on the front; they are too close to the screen.
The quest continues for the perfect TPU case.

Are there really TPU cases that are thinner than others? I've used a bunch on all my devices and haven't really noticed a difference in thickness.

Yes I had a TPU case from Spigen for my GS3 that was simply perfect. Super thin and somehow it did not interfere with the front of the phone at all, unlike most other cases. It kinda tapers outward, instead of towards the screen, so it still gave protection from falls. And yet it all managed to stay snug. This is the kind of case i'm looking for.

Nillkin Frosted Case Review

Nillkin Frosted Case Review
Link: http://goo.gl/qH6o3k
The fourth and final case arrived pretty early today and it is threatening the Ebestsale TPU case's reign on my phone.
Just looking at the case, you can see a subtle dotted pattern on the back. Once you feel the back, you start to question whether the Sandstone back was really your favorite texture. Then you remember the whole point of having the case, to protect your phone, right? Unfortunately, this case will not protect your phone with the efficiency Ebestsale's TPU provides. The edges are raised but not nearly as much as the TPU. After putting a quarter under the phone and moving it, the quarter does get displaced. The smaller raise causes the screen to be much more vulnerable.
The ports on the side are better than the blue TPU I reviewed and since it's a hard case, nothing is loose. Thanks to this hardness, the case is much slimmer than the TPUs. The top and bottom of the case reveal 90% of the phone itself because of the curved cut approach Nillkin took when creating this case. This makes it easier to put things in the ports but sacrifices protection because the casing won't be there to absorb the impact. This case will not provide the grip you get on the TPU or sandstone back.
Overall this case is not truly meant for protection but for a good show and boy does it deliver in that category. I would recommend this for those who can maintain the safety of their OnePlus and want a case that doesn't mask its identity.
Pros: Feels very nice - The Slimmest Case I've bought - Color Choices
Cons: Edges not Raised enough - Not enough case to protect- Slippery

Just got this case;
http://www.amazon.com/Nillkin-Frosted-Protector-Compatible-OnePlus/dp/B00L2D3NYE
I gotta say this case is AWESOME I have the Diztronic matte black case too, and typically I am a big fan of Diztronic, I had the Diztronic for my HTC One M8, and my brother does for his Nexus 5, and it's very thin, while also protecting the phone, but the Diztronic for the OnePlus One feels pretty thick and bulky for some reason on the 1+1, and is very slippery.
Anyways, this Nillkin black case is just perfect for me. The 1+1 is already a pretty large phone to begin with, and the Diztronic case made it feel quite a bit bigger and heavier, and I just loved using my OnePlus One naked, it felt so light and easier to handle, but I was always afraid of scratching it and dropping it. Well this Nillkin is very thin, and makes the phone feel naked almost still. It looks very nice, I love the rubbery feel on the back.
This case won't protect the phone much if dropped, but then again most cases aren't guaranteed to fully protect a phone. But I like the very light profile, making the phone still feel naked, but it does protect the camera in back, and the lip goes over the front screen, protecting the screen if you lay the phone face down.

Yep . This case is great, super thin, like an extension of the phone itself, not a separate bulky case.

Tech21 Cases

Anyone have input / experience with them? I have a tempered glass screen protector on, and want to lose the otterbox bulk, but can't seem to trust a slim case to be protective.
Thanks!
The tech21 are actually pretty awesome. Ive had one for 2 of my past phones but for my g3 i checked it out at the tmobile store and compared it to the incipio and being practically the same amount of protection i went with the incipio cause it was 5 bucks cheaper and im loving it. Nice and thin so doesnt add much bulk and has a 2 layer style like the commuter series. Definitely rrecomend it
I got the Blue Tech 21 case the day I got my G3 about 3-4 weeks ago and it's been great for me. Looks great, maybe a little slippery but not terrible for me. Has a good in the hand grip overall. This is my only case for it so I can't compare it with others. Slim and fits great in my pocket. The sides where the D3o is, is pretty solid. Can't even push the lip down. Phone is pretty snug in there so I don't think it would ever pop out unless you yourself take it out. The blue areas where I place it down on surfaces seem to turn dark/black. Doesn't bother me but just a heads up for you if you're looking into the color.
The only drop instance I had was from my pocket (about 3 feet) and it landed on it's back. Made a pretty loud smack on the tile floor. Phone was fine considering the main protection to me is on the sides where the orange D3o goo is. But I do feel if I were to drop it perfectly on its face with this case, or maybe back again, the screen would crack depending on strength of impact. That's just how I feel about most cases but I hope I don't jinx it in the future. But I baby my devices so I don't worry too much about it.
I will say this though. I have a UAG case on my Galaxy S3, which my Dad has now, and that thing accepted drops and beatings. Really hoping they make one for the G3.
I also have a Cailifu tempered glass protector and there isn't any problems with the two as of today. When I first put on the protector then put on the case shortly after, it just barely lifted the protector on the top left corner (may be due to the protector being more left of the screen). I left the case off for a few hours to let it adhere more. Been a week and they're both getting a long well, no lifting at all.
I'd say go for it if you really wanna try it out over the Otterbox.
I have one as well and I love the case! It's slim and it's not slippery.
I HAVE A TECH 21 with a zagg glass shield screen cover and its great !!

.. Its awesome. Still would rather have a UAG but hopefully that time will come soon!
I just got one through BestBuy.
It's rather slim in thickness.
The cutouts are accurate.
It's easy to put on and put off.
It is nice along with Zagg glass plate (it has a little gap and it's barely visible on left and right.

I purchased a Tech21 case when I got my G3. I don't really care for it. It adds too much to the overall size of the phone and the back is slicker than the battery cover is so I am returning it to T-Mobile since I am within the 14 day return period.
I used the tech21 and now I'm using the Fosmon Dura-Frost. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KNYOYC8/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_uU9-tb1W7M9CY
I like the Fosmon because it feels like the cruizerlite I'm used to. That being said, I'd probably rather have the tech 21 if it were actually dropped. Both cases fit perfect even with the tempered glass.

what Case do you use? And which has the most grip?

Hello
i am looking for a case and i would like to know your opinion about yours and which has more grip in hands, because i don't want my phone to slip out of my hands
I switch between a diztronic tpu case and a nillkin pc case, both have good grip but the diztronic gives better all round protection
The diztronic case doesn't really offer that great of a grip but is a great case other than that.
I'm using the Ringke Fusion OnePlus One Case. Get the smoked black, there are some problems with the Crystal View version. Very easy to hold with the fusion case.

The Smoke Black is fine and doesn't have any problems.
Its hard to say, I love both cases but the Ringke one is my primary case. I like the way it feels in my hands and the buttons feel a lot better than the Diztronic or without a case on.

Never had that case so I can't comment on that.
I had the Ringke fusion for my nexus 5, same sorta deal with the clear back and a bumper but hardly used it as there were better cases from spegen. Its a shame Spigen are not making anything for the oneplus
I have the Diztronic TPU case and the PELOSI sandstone black case and I use the pelosi as my daily. I like the drop protection that the diztronic provides but it's simply too slippery for me. The OPO is already a big phone, and the Diztronic size and texture makes it too awkward to hold. The Pelosi is much slimmer and grippier, with a very similar feel to the stock Sandstone Black OPO texture. It doesn't offer as much drop protection as the diztronic, but I've decided that being able to hold onto the phone is more important than it being safer when dropped. It's a tricky decision to make, but for me the Pelosi wins out.
I use the TUDIA Slim Melody TPU case. It's a great case, and was relatively cheap. Good feel, offers decent anti-slip protection. Sleek, with just enough of a lip to not worry about laying the phone face up or down on a hard surface. Button and port access are great as well.
The Pelosi case is supposed to mimic the Sandstone black cover and offer good grip. Only issue is that it doesn't offer the best protection.
I have nillkin frosted
Originally got the Diztronic but it's a bit to slippery. Using Nillkin now. Less protection but grippier and slimmer.
I use the Cruzerlite Bugdroid circuit case. The grip is fine ... not like the sandstone back but nearly the same. And in my view it looks awesome!!
cheap from china (2euros inc. shipping).. slim body armour hard case for oneplus one... red one... feels great, matt design.

Right now I have OnePlus Clear Case (hard case) but the quality is not that great. After 2 months of careful handling I see a crack on the bottom right of the case.
A silicon case would be a better option + more grip.

I'd stay away from aluminium, affects your signal http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54914550&postcount=14
Just a warning. Some people say it hasn't affected signal, some has. I don't own a case so I cannot confirm.
In that case compromising the signal is not a solution for a nice looking case.
I will go for a Diztronic TPU case than. People are happy about it.

Grippy slim case

So I bought the Spigen Rugged Armor and it's just too slippery, can't hardly hold on to the phone with it on. ?
Can anyone recommend a pretty slim case that offers a lot of grip? Something with a rubberized costing on the back maybe. Don't know.. just want something that keeps the phone on my hand.. ?

I got this one and really like it.
Bear Motion for LG G6 - Ultra Slim Case for LG G6 2017 Release - Sand (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XCFHYYW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Wn5bzbJSD34EG
Just know that it is not the most durable. I take it off and put it back on a lot, and it started to crack in places. Mine is also not perfectly centered over the buttons...lol. describing it like this makes it sound horrible, but it is probably one of my favorite cases I've ever owned. If you want some extra protection (the Bear motion is minimalist in this regard) and grip while still keeping it pretty slim, I'd go for the Speck Presidio Grip.

Nice, saw those a while ago actually. I wish they'd cover the top and bottom edges as well though and not just the sides.
What do they feel like? The Bear Motion that is.
The Speck one looks pretty grippy. Not sure about the actual look of it though-

I think I'd describe the feel as rubberized sand paper. It is rough, kind of like sand paper, and even though it isn't made of rubber (more of a hard plastic), it feels sort of rubbery in my hand. I'm pretty horrible at describing it:silly:.
argh, I would like the Bear Motion but nobody sell it in europe

Nah, sounds good mate, thanks! ?
I really wish Ringke would have made their Slim case for the G6. Had it on my Nexus 6 and loved the feel of it. It had a good rubbery texture.
Anyone know if Spigen's Thin one is similar?
In case anyone else is looking for something similar I ended up buying the Spigen Thin Fit and it's pretty much perfect! I kind of wish it'd cover the top and bottom edges but at least it covers the corners and I'm loving the feel of it. It's got a perfect rubberized texture that gives plenty of grip.
Nillkin nature is an awesome slim case. Very slim and perfect cutouts.

Nice! I've had that case for my Nexus 6 and besides it yellowing it was pretty spot on.
The Nature comes in darker colors, less prone to turn yellowish. Mine is 'gray', and has been holding up pretty good for about six months.
I prefer TPU cases. This is the one that I purchased. https://www.amazon.com/Cruzerlite-C...JJV5/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1494806314&sr=8-2
It comes in several different colors.

Wasn't available over here without paying way too much for the shipping. ?
Like on S6 i bought Nillkin Nature best Slim grippy case ever.
I like Nillkin too, i have bought Nillkin's Synthetic fiber and Super Frosted Shield. and winner is Super Frosted Shield.
They have newer, more like rubber matterial than on Super Frosted for older phones (i have Super Frosted for Nexus 5x and Xiaomi Redmi 1S), so grip is fantastic.
And display protection is much better with Super Frosted too.
Also i have dbrand's vinyl (carbon series) and after more than week it's still slippery. I hope slickwraps natural series black leather will be better.
I ended up just making my own with this case plus some of this grip tape. The grip on cases is never 'grippy' enough so this works great!
I rock the Nillkin slim hard shell
Awesome idea
