Love your kernels! Great to see you here!

I used the elemental x app to flash your kernel since we have no twrp yet. I lost root in the process. How would I root this?

You would need to flash magisk with it in EXKM, I think it lets you flash several zips in a row.
EDIT: fixing my zip now so that it can retain root, new V2 build will be up with the fix

Thank you! I figured I would support this since it's basically the same as Pixel 3/3 XL

Do I need to be on stock kernel to flash this? I'm on elemental.

Flashed V2, rebooted and no root access given to ElementalX app. So yea root not working.
How would I go about rooting now?

can't flash kernel with that method if no root. I'll have to try and get a modified boot image and root first, then come back to the kernel. Unless i'm mistaken?

Right. Which was my issue.
I guess the best way to get root is to flash the stock modified boot image in fastboot?

In theory you could just boot the modified stock boot image, then root your boot on your device, then reboot.
Edit: fastboot boot {nameofboot}.img

Oh yeah. Thanks.
Question though. Since I'm already running this kernel, does root even matter? I don't do anything that requires root.

I currently use 3.0.3 from jolla man's latest recovery image. It has material design, multi rom support, and f2fs. And it's always updated when he releases a new kernel with fixes. Works flawlessly for me and no efs restore bug
Jollamans TWRP, stable, always updated and afaik bugfree.

If you keep your file system trimmed then there is no real world different. Benchmark wise, write sites are much faster. However, if you maintain an ext4 partition properly, the real world performance us identical

Yes. It's just the multi rom compatible recovery by itself instead of the whole recovery. When flashing just make sure the option to inject multi boot is disabled. Other than that, rubs like regular feel with an updated interface

Does this kernel contain color profile control? or would that not even work anyways since we don't have root yet?

I am on Google. I would like mainly stock but also would like a few mods etc. No heavy mod as I truly believe Google has perfected Android is. Not sure if substratum work
On non rooted?. And also I want to change emojis not a fan of them..
Just unlock the bootloader, root, add Magisk, and install any modules that you like. There's even one to change the emojis. And yes, Substratum will theme when rooted. You'll need the Andromeda add-on if not rooted.
Just rooted I get this error when ever I boot.
Also when I select test safety net on magisk it FC running v14.5

Lineage os 17

Hey guys, If You search for "crosshatch" on Androidfilehost.com You will See an unofficial Lineage 17 build.
I've Download it but i want to know how to flash with adb, since twrp is Not Out for Android 10 on the Pixel 3 XL.
I think you have to use fastboot to flash the boot/recovery image he has listed right below then go into recovery and apply update from adb and sideload the zip
---------- Post added at 02:19 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:39 AM ----------
Tried but I just get stuck on google logo at boot. You'd probably be better off just using Havoc OS its very easy to install and runs on android 10
