Huawei Mate 20 X EVR- AL00, EVR- TL00 or EVR-L29? What to Buy? - Huawei Mate 20 X Questions & Answers

Hi, I had Huawei P8 Max & now I have Honor Note 8, its a very nice device but a Chinese voice assistance and some delay on getting on time notifications + few seconds on GPS delay annoying me and also searching yellow pages will give you Chinese locations + if you start dialing 0 number will give you all names & numbers in China with Chinese language!
But a 256GB Capacity and 8GB of Ram for the Mate 20 X is a big plus which is unfortunately not available with the L29 global version. so what is your experience & advice guys, specially who lives in North America .. i am just stuck in between.
Thank you in advance.

I had the honor Note 8 before, AL00 is smaller but with the same screen. It is best to unlock the bootloader as it is possible and enjoy what you want. The Chinese version is a bit overblown and you have to get a little bit of trouble without root.

Yes, but i dont want to continue using the Note 8, i wanna upgrade to Mate 20X But confused between the versions and if the Chinese Mate 20 x version have same issues as the Honer series or less. just the capacity storage and Rams made me crazy and think twice before make a decision

I have the honor note 10 Chinese version. Never was an international version. I could never completely eliminate every bit of Chinese text, even though I selected English language. When the mate 20 pro came out I opted for the international version. Much happier with international, English truly means English across the board.

I use the Chinese version of the 20x mate in the Polish language version and I did not find Chinese stamps by dumping Chinese applications

I would get the chinese version. They get updates sooner than the other versions. I have an AL00 and got the 9.1 update like 2 months ago. The european version is updating to 9.1 today.

Only real differences is that the AL00 seems to get the faster updates, if you can get by with 128GB and maybe a nano SD card if you need more i'd get the international version, less pissing about to get stuff set up the way you want in my opinion.

That is not an issue for me, both are from a great company and will get updates sooner or later, the most important to me is one of them having a Chines firmware with lots of irremovable Chinese system apps but with 256GB capacity and 8GB of Ram and the other one is global version with the only 128GB/6GB .. so the question is .. does it, the Chinese version, does it deserve to spend that much of $ to get that additional space and speed and ignoring the Chinese non removable system apps instead of clean global version with less specs? the difference is only about 150$
Thank you!

Great, then your answer will lead me to ask another question, if i get the global and the nano card, does it effect the dual SIM? in my honor i can either put one SIM with one memory card or 2 SIM with no place for additional memory card.
Thank you.

If you use the memory card then you will not be able to use dual sim, I'm not aware of a hack to have the nano sim and sim card in the same half of the sim tray

For me Chinese better ..faster updates once bl unlocked its soo good ..right niw emui 9.1 with magisk 19.3 all good going

And I will repeat once again that with the bootloader unlocked (and it is not always necessary), you can uninstall everything including the Launcher change. There is no such thing as irremovable applications. I bought the code three weeks ago. You have to hunt and you have what you want with lots of memory and fast updates.

After you done that, everything got identical of the international version?

They speak English, how to enter the site in the lower right corner you can see the chat and you can find out in English. After obtaining the code you can upload the room gl00balized version and it has everything as in international

I don't know what system apps you are taking about because I just disabled wifi and data access to all apps I haven't installed myself, so not only I don't see those apps in my phone but also those apps never bother me with permissions or anything. They are just there taking space in the hard drive. But bot much, probably less than 0.5%
And I spent 460€ for this phone 3 months ago. The global version today still above that price.

Can user reply fr this
1. Can bootloader unlock be obtained outside china? How?
2. Does playstore and gpay etc works in Chinese version? Can update?
3. How is night mode camera? Has ois?

Fingerprint scanner issue

Hey guys,
Everything works flawlessly in my nexus 5x. Except fingerprint scanner..
At first I thought it's problem is having too many fingers saved so I left only one of them saved.
But after couple hours after boot the problem is coming back like a boomerang.
I mean it's not a PROBLEM but its annoying. Every single time I'm trying to wake the device from sleep it takes about 2secs to unlock. Even if I have lots of free ram( I thought it's a ram issue at the beginning).
I've seen similar issues reported on 6p forums some time ago but still no answer.
Anybody getting this problem or am I the chosen one?
Wysłane z mojego Nexus 5X przy użyciu Tapatalka
I set up 3 fingerprint scans for the same finger. It's not 100% reliable but it does work better.
Thanks but it doesn't really help that much. Still laghy during unlock.
Wysłane z mojego Nexus 5X przy użyciu Tapatalka
if you're all stock, I would try a factory reset. if that still doesn't work, maybe you have a defective unit. Mine has been extremely reliable, even when I'm on not-so-stable ROMS, kernels, kernel tweaks, etc.
Och boy I am as far from stock as it can be I flashed custom rom in about an hour I unboxed my nexus. I think it could be hard to prove its a problem when I'll try to return it as a faulty unit. They could just say its how it suppose to be.. I guess Google would replace my unit..but I got it directly from lg as a replacement of my n5..

I have experienced what you describe only when playing with custom kernals. You need to flash the stock kernal and see if the problem persists.

I will try it out. If it's a kernel though I think there would be more people complaining about this problem on forums.

Don't buy le pro3

i bought le 2 x526 (indina variant) with sd652 2 months ago and eui is a ****ty os so i thought there will be development and the hardware is great on le 2 i will be okay but its been 5months since they launched le 2 and they are saying that releasing kernel source is not in their company policy , i sold my phone today. Please don't buy this phone eui is too buggy go for mi 5s anyday
What was ***ty? Chinese companys are the same. Support just for the flagship, for the small one "just if we got some time".
this device should be different. it has band20. and the world goes crazy for it. whyever?!
So interest will be and seems to be already in new spheres.
Of course....I could be wrong
Good smartphone
i had LeEco Le Pro 3 that bought it last week. it is different from other leeco phones.
News about kernel source ?
Why is it different from other Leeco?
Hi, you've tried the Leeco Pro 3, I want to buy but are undecided. I wanted to know why it is different from the others. Thank you

That's what I want to know as well. I'm not even really interested if not. I've seen it get trounced by a OP3 with 'just' an SD 820. The le pro definitely needs a rom on it for me!

It was there apparently, then taken down again.
The thread should now be renamed into DO BUY the Le Pro 3...
better buy Oneplus 3 instead this
Wonderful phone I have it since a day and I'm really satisfied...perfect, buy it. Eui is a very stable and good firmware. Buy it if you aren't a super fan of CM OR AOSP ROM...in that case better OP3. Anyway probably you can install them also here in a near future cause source is open and this phone will have a huge amount of fans. Le pro 3 is however than OP3 better with its 821...is more stable, has less battery draining, no overheating problems at all.
Sent from my LEX720 using Tapatalk
use Pro3 for 2 weeks in HongKong , so far so good.......4070mah battery could use for a day even heavy usage.
i bought lePro3, and i like it. i think the interface is better than the native MM6.0. and it is a really good phone. i sold my Samsung note 5, and this Lepro is very good. see my other post on "leEco Pro questions and answers" section...for some initial review.
is the official rom good enough?
is it safe to use without backdoors, malware ets?
I did a virus scanning when I got the phone. So far so good. I recommend to install antivirus for protection. I have 360 security installed. But the rom is not official. It is a custom rom developed by the seller Shop. But the US version will be the first official english rom for LePro 3

When I bought It from China, i told the seller to let the original ROM in chinese and english. So the first ROM in China is original in english.
interesting.im watching this phone too...high spec and powerful.
Not a bad phone and if some roms are developed then it'd be so much better. The only ****ty thing about this phone is the software (and no headphone jack / 2 usb c) but i got over it with Bluetooth headphones... I mean you're paying 300 momeis for a phone... Yeah the camera could be better and the speakers could use some help however it's still a solid performer (even with eui being ****ty and taking 2 out of 4 gigs of ram like wtf eui why you do this?!!!)

OnePlus 5t Lava Red

I know it was a limited time thing, but where else can I get it for a cheap price (could be global rom or US rom but I prefer US rom)
Europe and China now.

battery drain latest chinese rom

The lastest chinese stable rom for my Mi Max 6gb 128GB has been draining battery like crazy. I read that the same Miui version has been causing battery drain for other Xiaomi phones, has anyone elses Mi Max 3 has been suffering the same problem lately?
Side note: This is a brand new Mi Max 3 and reason of asking is because i used the global stable on another Mi Max 3 some time ago and the battery usage is amazing.

8 hours total, i'm actually waiting to unlock the phone to switch to Global rom. When i has the 4gb version, global ran so much better.
Hmmm. Not to much [emoji19]I have SOT abt 13.5h.WIFI, internet. 10.0.1.0 OEDMIFH
Wysłane z mojego MI MAX 3 przy użyciu Tapatalka
That is very short. I have same model and latest china stable ROM 10.2.1.0.
I haven't done an extensive SOT but with normal usage I can get close to 48 hours. Bluetooth is only used when driving or jogging. Wifi on most of the time and cell data too.
You may have a process running in the background.
Have you used the miui cleaner and are you running stock launcher?
Unfortunately the phone i purchased had a virus and i didn't want to wait until i unlocked the bootloader to clear the rom and flash the global rom. I returned the device back for a refund. Still have my Mi Mix to rely on meanwhile.
Same battery drain on latest global rom 1035

Not sure its worth changing. I am getting worse run time with latest stable global rom. Rooted. Using magisk and edposed most offenders disabled. 100 frozen zpps and processes and goog play services is restricted. The more stuff I disable and limit the worse it gets.

Oneplus disappointed us ???

I'm OnePlus user since the oneplus 6t and the development of rom in oneplus 6t was pretty impressive and that is why i upgraded to 7t
And now i see there is nothing going on here
I know the main reason is twrp because of Android 10
Its a nightmare
But i saw 7t pro thread that device is going super well i wish i had that device the device already have plenty of roms without twrp!! Why our 7t is left behind
It is because

You should probably slow your roll on this. While I get the disappointment, it's not like it's due to a lack of trying. /any/ device that shipped with Android 10 is going to have this problem.
