Sideloading App on Galaxy watch running off an iphone - Samsung Galaxy Watch

Hi, so I am handcuffed by my work to use an iphone. I couldn't stand the apple watch, so finally upgraded to to the Galaxy watch. I love this watch. Disappointed at the limited apps available, which i understand fully. I am curious if there is a way to sideload these apps? Particularly the myroundpro watch app.
Really appreciate any feedback.

I don't understand the problem here. Is it that your iphone is locked down and cannot access the Apple app store?

sdb connect ip : port then youre connected to watch but buletooth off and on same wifi then you can do more

I'm not sure sideloading is the answer. I know that's the question that was asked but the application he mentioned is on the galaxy wearable store and has an iOS companion app on the iOS app store. That's why I asked my questions above. What exactly is he trying to resolve by sideloading? It doesn't make sense.

I didn't go in depth but once you connect you have to root then a little easier tinzen has dev exe to Port apps on dev website I've been trying to do with Spotify lite made for gear not Samsung 2nd B's market we get non-samsung owners

i wasn't trying to be a [email protected]@@, but ive ported and signed different apps on my watch this thread will help multiple links to tinzen dev and it works look at post #53 we need all the help we can on watch https://forum.xda-developers.com/sm.../questions-sideloading-apps-tweaking-t3917082 hope this helps if not ill try to help if i can

Car home

Hello everyone!
Maybe a dumb question, but how do you activate the car home?
A lot of reviews mentionned it, but I can't find it on my phone...
Thanks.
Not a dumb question at all..
I can't help you I'm afraid.
In addition to what you are seeking, I'm about to start a search looking for the morning Alarm Clock screen with Home Apps as well.
Use car dock once it comes it, or has it?
Using it will activate car home.

Negative... this screen operates independently of the car dock.
Think of it this way ~ how on earth can a piece of hardware control what you see on your screen if the items are not there in the first place.
What about the Morning screen with it's large digital clock and several morning applications all in landscape mode and the TV Remote control?
You can't say until we get the hardware we can't see those screens and apps as well!

Car Mode
In its in-car mount, GALAXY S turns into my own personal assistant—instantly providing me with weather, Google maps, Google voice search, and navigation services. Getting directions is as easy as simply speaking my request. With Google Maps Navigation, GALAXY S not only fetches the directions, but lets me choose 3 ways to view them—in real- time with Real Street View, Traffic View, or Satellite View.
Desk Mount
GALAXY S knows how to bring my day to a relaxing end. When set on its side in the cradle or docking station, GALAXY S switches to a new interface, selecting four vital functions needed to help transition into a lasting, satisfying state of rest—table clock, audio station, digital photo frame and calendar.

True true, but according to the way that Samsung phrases it, it appears to be the way I've stated it. Correct or no?
So far everything that I've said is speculations BASING on official sources.
Yes it's not 100% correct, but at least pretty high accuracy.

I understand completely what you are saying here but it was Samsung themselves who told me the apps are already installed.
It just seems so weird you need a mount of some sort to display them.
Taking this further, what about the Remote TV Controller, how the heck can we put this same logic into practice?
hi
First post but hopefully not the last
I just got my galaxy s yesterday
the remote app is actually in the samsung app store BUT its not availeble for the Galaxy s (atleast not yet) its for the samsung 8500 and 8500L. the samsung apps store lets you DL the apps but not install them.. the apps extension is .APP contra .APK for android

It just feels like everything on this phone is about waiting for Samsung, I suspect all these features will eventually appear, its just about having the patience to wait for them.
Still waiting for the Home Dock, the Car Dock, the TV control, for Kies to recognize the 9000 on the app store, for spare batteries, for firmware updates... and of course Froyo.

I have patience, no doubt about that. I need it by the bucket load in my profession.
What annoys me though is when a department fail to provide material facts, especially when these facts have been mentioned that long they now appear as works not of fact but fiction.
Yes, they will come but in the meantime it remains shoddy there is nothing available of material in both the items and information.
Agreed, its pretty poor that they didn't at least add the token '* coming Sept 2010' instead of faking up the applications and presenting them as ready and available now.

Logic?
The logic that we gotta employ is simply regard Samsung's strategy as NOT using any logic at all.
Like we discussed last time, 2011+ tv only.
I guess the only way for us to find out is to email Samsung. Someone should compile a list of "urgency" questions and we'll all send it to Samsung Mobile department.
-------------------------------------------------------------
But Beardds, at least they have released the phone first right?
I mean com'on, it's better than waitin for both the phone PLLUSSSS the support.
And to reply to your "firmware support" concern, I've seen new firmware updates nearly every other day, I might be wrong but you should check out Samsung Firmware "official' site

This is strange, confusing and disappointing.
Why has Samsung released these apps which we have been asking them time after time but with no response and yet here you find them listed.
The European SIM free Galaxy S does not list any of these apps on either the Samsung or general Market.
Could you upload the .apk files so that we can check to see if they will install and load please?
So Samsung support wasn't that crazy when they said it could be on the market already, just not for the i9000
Funny how the US versions seems to get preferential treatment, in both accessories and software. Still no dock or cases to be found on the EU sites

Unfortunately, there are no Bluetooth 4.0 (which Bluetooth LE is a part of) libraries built into android right now. In order to connect an android device to a Bluetooth 4.0 connection, you must do it for a specific device, and that device's manufacturer must have released a bluetooth 4.0 SDK. There is an open bluetooth low-energy SDK for Android

"I want my gb 6900 g-shock watch to pair with my GS3!!! UGH"
I am a app developer and I need Bluetooth 4.0 in order to develop hardware for my own phone. As of now i'm using Apples Iphone 5 " Samsung's Competitor" to develop my apps and Hardware. This does not look good on Samsung's part. I really hope this gets figured out. The Galaxy S3 is the top selling phone as of right now. It is also my favorite in terms of use but. The fact that they advertised 4.0 support this sucks!
I am with you on that bro. Got the gb 6900 on my wrist right now but no application to really take advantage of the ble. Just in case you dont know, you can always check that the SGS3 can see the GB 6900 using the "Bluetooth Smart Scanner" application tool found through play.
I also have a Moto Droid 4 which can natively see the watch using the Bluetooth page in settings but I am afriad I have to perhaps look into the developing my own app.

The nRF Utlility from Nordic, i couldnt even download from the Play Store because my phone is marked as "SAMSUNG-SGH-I747" which is at^t's SGS3. I wish there was a way i could download the .apk file from Play Store or even somewhere on the internet.
I am going to check if Nordic has put it on their developer site.
The application i mentioned only just discovers the Bluetooth 4.0 devices and doesnt connect to them. At the moment it is just good enough for proof that Samsung indeed has a Bluetooth Low Energy module in the SGS3.
If you can give me more info on your SGS3 such as network carrier, what rom and kernel you are using, perhaps i might be able to figure out why it is not working for you.

I am sure someone has figured out and listed all the market codes for each country... in Xda just going to do that soon after i finish replying.

Hi! yes. You would first need to make sure you have the JB official ROM upgrade from at&t through Kies or rooted and unlocked bootloader SGS3 running JB. Unfortunately, there is no official app from Casio for SGS3 as G-Shock+ exists for iOS yet, but you can download nRF Utility from market and then use the watch as a proximity device.

It even was connecting better than the official G-shock app ( from the apple store) and my partners iphone 5
I'm not a developer but does it mean i have to wait until casio, android, or samsung work on that ?
Does it work with the japanes g-shock app from their store ? (this app supports a gb-6900 bt reports the description)

have you tried to clear the bond between the casio gb6900 and nRF utility and Bluetooth smart scanner or other android apps? I believe you can do that by going to the setup screen on the watch and then keep the split.reset button pressed on the watch. What other apps other than Bluetooth Smart Scanner and nRF Utility have you found on android/for sgs3 that use BLE to connect?

I have yet to try the official G-Shock+ app for iOS. I try to stay away(physically and mentally) from any iOS device. You may be right on the on the "better connectivity " as i know Apple did screw up the Dual Mode Bluetooth chipset on the iPhone 4S...which they might have carried on with iPhone 5.
Yes, you would have to wait untill casio develops something or untill there is a API from Samsung for BLE development for Android. I think the latter one is more important as once there is a API, not only Casio can develop a full fledged app but also many individual developers. Samsung is the real sucker in this.
You hafto go into setup in watch menu then hit "start stop" twice then hold in reset. Then search for the watch again.

Well thanks for the effort. Many people before you have done that and got the same response. I dont know why Samsung is not at the top of the matter on this..especially if they really want to seal the deal for SGS3.
It could be that android/google is really pushing for NFC and not so much on BLE because iOS is pushing more on BLE and not so much on NFC.
I tell you these corporate battles just are hindrances to potential opportunity to many technologies and developers. Shame on them!
Update on Android App from Casio
I have some good news to share. We should be getting an Android based app from Casio. See this link
http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/49231/casio-g-shock-gb-5600a-iphone-pictures-hands-on
"It will work only with iPhone at present - because of the app support - but an Android app is in the pipeline for release later in the year."

Trying to get new watch faces through adb

Hi
I've updated my Huawei to the last version of android wear 1.4/6 and i use it connected to with my iPhone 5c. Because of that the watch faces are very limited however i found that i could install new ones via adb because i watched a youtube video where a guy explains step by step how to do it. (Sorry but i can't post the link here)
Everything went right, the watch was connected :
List of devices attached
MQB7N15904002045 device
But when i tried to upload a few of watch faces i get all the time the same message in terminal like this one:
Invalid APK file: Desktop/Light.apk
I must say that i don't know much about this stuff however i think i did all as the video told me to do so what's going wrong? Does it have something to do with the upgrade to the new version of android wear?
Thanks in adv
BCabrio
P.S.: Please sorry for my bad english, i'm not a native speaker and i hope you to understand what i've written.
EDIT
Sorry i've just found the solution, the apk file have to be in the same folder where the adb is.
Later on i've found out that there I could install just a few watch faces while most of them gave a long and complicated error msg. I've reed somewhere that watch faces that need iPhone data (like weather) just couldn't been installed through the adb connection.. Can someone confirm this?
Tks in adv

Tks for answering.
But you know that´s another level , i mean flashing the rom and stuff.
I don't know much about this so better to stay off as i learnt that if something goes wrong i might get into big trouble.
I've got a few nice watch faces and a couple of nice apps, and for me it's not bad at all since i felt very limited a few days ago to a point of even thinking to exchange my iPhone to an Android. The thing is that i prefer iOS to android... so this way i keep the best of both worlds. Ok i may miss a few things but that's not too bad.

Question about sideload apps/watchfaces

Hello guys,
So I'm thinking about getting a galaxy watch or active watch, but I have some questions.
I've read of ACL, but seem that it isn't working, so right now there isn't anyway to install apk's on the watch?
Is it possible to donwload the paid apps that are available on the store and sideload it to the watch?
The same for the watch faces
Is there any website that carries this tpk's and faces that can be downloaded and sideloaded to the watch?
Thank you in advance.
Hello daweasel27,
1.) At the moment, sadly no. You can check progress on ACL/Android Wear port here:
ACL: https://forum.xda-developers.com/sm...ions-sideloading-apps-tweaking-t3917082/page3.
Android Wear: https://forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch/gear-s3/gear-s3-android-wear-port-wip-t3584588/page75
2/3/4.) Yes, but this isn't really the place to ask that, a ton of people are developers here so piracy isn't the best way to thank them for their hard work. But I'd imagine some googling would turn you up .TPK files.
Hope that helps,

A
If this funny pop up came out... with "first step upgrade your Galaxy Store to the latest Version"
Try to tap around... in gray or other parts of your Display... NOT inside the white Window nor OK nor Cancel...
Start at upper corner...
Few Versions of funny Galaktik Joke App can skip such Pop Up Windows...
If no luck, please tell your App version... and maybe Link... so I could check...
There are 1000000000000000000000000 Versions of this Andromeda Running Gag.
B
There are other methods to get App and install...
Depend on your skills and how paranoid your Developer is...
My personal favorite is... TPK or WGT... then with SDB Tool:
Code:
sdb install "app"name.tpk
C
Samsung Phone...
This depend how much you want test Beta Apps...
Best Regards
Hi
First of all I'm very very happy with my phone Don't wanna change it
And I do not think that the links come out of a dangerous application sincerely, although I appreciate your advice, These links appear because I do not have the Galaxy store installed but through the wearable.
regarding the methods:
A
I tried to click on all possible parts of the link and impossible
Don't know why wanna know my version or "link"? But is v4.10.10-rc1 and as I said I can not update it as it is integrated in the wearable
B
Definitely yes, I am passionate about tizen studio and yes I have installed several apps through wgt files
C
See beginning of the post Thx
Thx & Greets
But is v4.10.10-rc1 and as I said I can not update it as it is integrated in the wearable

You have Download Link?
Maybe Special Thread for your handset...
Sorry my English is not sooooo good.
Reason for clicking weired through whole Display....
I have several Samsung Apps Versions, where I can skip/bypass this kind of forced update...
I have now limited time... maybe later I can be more specific...
About Samsung handsets...
I have more then 1 device... but only old crap...
Like GT-I9300...
And my SM-R760 is for instance my toy...
So IMHO focus on your priority.
If Beta App testing is important for you...
So alternate solution...
Toy Wear + Samsung Toy Handset...
Maybe easier and faster to manage instead "hacking" Samsungs Security """Chain"""...
Maybe family members can borrow you Samsung Phone... or neighbar or...
Best Regards
Hi, I really appreciate your effort to really help me
I do not intend to hack any Samsung system to get what I want
I am going to get it by installing the wgt through tizen studio
The main reason for my post was to make enough noise for Samsung to update the embedded Galaxy Store inside Samsung wearable.
Thx again

IMHO Samsung can not hear you...
Not on XDA nor on their own sites...
I spend few minutes with your Video...
Results...
A
If you use PC Browser... you land or will be kicked also to this:
http://apps.samsung.com/betastore/appDetail.as?appId=fantasy
No idea why:
https://developer.samsung.com/galax...hout-phone-connection-mode.html?v=T000000285L
If you play with Android/Phone Link... you see Error...
http://apps.samsung.com/betastore/openAppDetail.as?appId=fantasy
B
Screenshots taken from my SM-R760... this device is not supported as it seems... so empty...
2_bad.png is example... and yes i can also not bypass by clicking somewhere else...
C

Not exact sure what you mean...
You mean the Phone part?
Because Galaxy App app APK is 1 App:
Code:
com.sec.android.app.samsungapps
In "Watch"... also Browser "embedded"... and nice Galaxy App App... I hate the names...
Code:
com.samsung.gearstore
I mean this...
Maybe "Watch" can handle these Deeplinks too... without the loooong way over Phone...
Best Regards

Impossible I've tried that way
There's one way through wpc mode but don't know how get this without resetting and don't wanna do it cause the long way to leave the watch as it was.
Any other ideas plz
Thx
?? ??
Sorry.
At the moment it is impossible for me to help you...
All I can do is in last PM I wrote you...
I spend few hourS with different Samsung handsetS...
Always failed...
Wrong ODC (Version)... incompatible Watch blabla...
IMHO this is not worth...
If I have trouble with Samsung stuff... no idea if you can bypass without Samsung device... this Security Labyrinth/Chain...
IMHO easier:
A
As I told Samsung Phone...
Seems good idea to have Android 7 device...
So something like Samsung S6...
B
If your Developer is friendly enough... he can share the Beta App in other wayS...
But if he is also so paranoid like Samsung... because paid App...
I have to give up on this...
Sorry.
Best Regards
