I got tired of waiting and manually installed it. I gotta say 9.1 is so smooth, I'm loving it.

Pretty straight forward bud, I used the dload method. Heres what I did step by step:
Note, you will need the 9.1 firmware and a USB Type-C Flash Drive. Its also important to know that this method will wipe the phone, so back everything up before doing it.
1. Download the firmware from here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Huawei/comments/c7ctlo/download_now_firmware_emui_91_for_huawei_mate_20/
2. Extract the firmware and copy the "dload' folder to the Mate 20's internal storage.
3. Connect a USB Type-C Flash Drive to the mate 20 and copy the "dload" folder from the phone onto the Flash Drive via the phones files app.
4. Go to the dialer and dial *#*#2846579#*#* it will bring up a service menu, go to system upgrade then memory card upgrade/sdcard upgrade then accept.
5. The phone will reboot and start the updating process automatically.
6. After the update is done and your in the main home screen, I'd recommend going to the settings and doing another reset.
Hope it helps

Question: Does the method wipe all data and internal storage or it is only an update?
Not sure it works for mine L09.

Yes the method wipes everything, so backing up is a must. Also L09? is that a Huawei mate 20 pro?
This firmware should work with L09 Mate 20 Pro: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1B45MvkYMJPN6S67oDfU7rwkSJsuOfqrQ/view

In that case use the firmware in my original post, there's no harm, the phone verifies the firmware before it updates. If the firmware isn't compatible it won't update

Might wait for the OTA, not too keen on losing all my data! But this is great news for those super keen on 9.1.

OTA to 9.1 this evening - bought phone this afternoon.
Happy with JB Hifi sale, 5% discount and TRS claiming soon.

[Q] How to restore Galaxy Nexus without USB

Hi,
Has anyone any idea how to restore my Galaxy Nexus to original without using USB?
I have a Galaxy Nexus Android 4.2.2. The USB doesn't working, however when connected to the power it recharges the battery but turns the phone off.
I can not use USB connection to computer either because the phone switches off immediately.
The phone has been rooted and I can access the root section when the phone turned on and I can upload any file via SMB.
I just need some info on what to do to restore the phone to it's original condition and so remove the info on rooting.
Please don't send me info on any external USB connection because I've tried it all and it does not working.
Thanks

You can use adb over network via developer options.then it is possible to restore stock and lock your phone by using wugs tools from pc.

You don't need access to fastboot if you have root.
Install ROM Manager from the Play Store and use that to install CWM. The just flash the zip in the post i linked to. (Flash a superuser zip right after as well if you want root.)

Did you try a different USB cable? I had similar issue, and drove me crazy for several days. The issue was the cable.
Note that the cable was working fine to connect a galaxy s2 to PC, but failed to connect the GNex

Worst case, download mobile Odin via play store. If u still have root access then your good. Search for latest gnex stock image(its available to public in its original form made for restore purposes or manual upgrade) keep in mind this wipes everything. While using app ensure ever root is enabled otherwise you'll lose root. The stock image should be in tgz format or something similar. Extract it to your SD card, it will give u a folder. Inside the folder is a bunch of files( possibly a folder within a folder, been a while for me). When using mobile Odin u manually select the boot.IMG system.IMG radio.IMG user data.IMG so if u know the problem u can choose just what u need. Sounds complicated as hell but its really simple. I figured this to be a temporary solution as my laptop had no internet to download need files to restore. Only problem is Mobil Odin isn't free about 4 bucks I think. But well worth the money

Under developer options is option "adb over the network", so if you select this your phone will get ip address and listening port and then you can access it via your computer on that specifics ip/port.

Unfortunately the restore process didn't work from the ROM manager. It just stuck at the restart and didn't do anything. I will send it back and let's see what Samsung will tell me.

As per usual when changing ROMs, you need to wipe data (in most cases) for your device to boot.

Well spotted. I just installed the beta version of B11 yesterday. Oh well, just installing this one as we speak. The download is slightly bigger so must be different.

Are you advising me that this update does format the data partition automatically? The previous update (107) left all my data intact, I was hoping this update would too.
Is it worth the hassle when coming from 07? And why do they keep these out of the phones ota? Is the ota just a ******* of ****** that actually does nothing? Galaxy S has had CM otas for a while - and they dont even have the backing of a multinational company.
Nice phone but the software is quirky, is the wifi-idle no data issue ok in the 111? Screen off and the phone turns wifi off and do not start mobile data. The phone is without data till the next time you turn the screen on or some app wakes it locally. Have had Whatsup messages appearing hours late and took a while to figure out why it was happening.
In answer to my question regarding the data being formatted, I have just completed the upgrade from 107 to 111 using the copy to SD card and run the system updater app method and this appears to have left all my apps and information intact and working as they all were before the update. Phew!
All the problems I had with B107 such as the Wi-Fi problem are gone with this update. If you put the dload folder with UPDATE.APP in it, in the root of the SD-card and update trough the system settings>about phone>update>local update, method you're data will be fine, at least my data was fine after the update to B111.

That's the force update method, then you will erase all you're data/files.
For the next update you could use the normal update method (put the dload folder with UPDATE.APP in it, in the root of the SD-card and update trough the system settings>about phone>update>local update) then you're data/files will be fine.

Just to flash official fimware (update) You don't need to have root access. All You need is the update file. You can find them here on XDA. Downlod it. Put the update.app file (if it isn't already in it..) into folder called dload. Put the dload folderon your external MicroSD card. Turn off the P6. Put the MicroSD in the phone. Hold down volume up and down buttons together. Push the power on button and hold your fingers still on the volume buttons untill You see the little green guy and the datas written about the update process. Now You should relese those vol keys.. Wait, and after the update finishes, your phone will boot up with the new firmware. If there are datas on your phone's INTERNAL memory, You should save them somewhere, before the update. Commonly the update deletes all userdata from the internal memory.
Oh, it does not have anything to do with warranty 'till You flash official ROMs, and You can go back to previous ROMs too if You want. Rooting will void your phone's warranty.

Probably need to rename it as MOFD_SDUPDATE and put it on your SD card, then boot into recovery.
Don`t know about safe method but:
Install ASUS FlashTool on PC from here (https://yadi.sk/d/NQCiY--IsQjBr) also drivers if necessary
I used this one it doesn`t give serial number error: AsusFlashToolInstaller1.0.0.17.exe

I did this last night, Just put the downgrade file on the internal storage and same as the MM update when it says there's an update do it...
But and this is a big BUT (lol) it factory resets your phone, So you lose everything so back up. Oh it also relocks the bootloader.

Yes it wiped my phone clean, Relocked the bootloader (had to unlock it again). Was easy to fix as I had everything here anyway so just unlocked again, rooted again after I went through the setup again.
I think ASUS provided the downgrading ROM at their official website. Use MOFD_SDUPDATE.zip method, or flash via ADB. Both way works on stock bootloader and recovery.

Yes me too. I will always stick to AOSP and CM. But what I'm thinking is, Huawei should release updates for all model numbers of a phone.

In here there was a need for this update. Because a company launched free unlimited 4g data, calling , sms for months . That's make whole country go crazy for buying their sim. That's why this update is specifically for India

I think you have to extract the update.app using extract tool. Recovery should be there.
This update mainly includes LTE update.
People have also reported that after this update they are not able to flash custom ROM.
Anyhow this is for stockies.

well i flashed this update. Don't know what will happen now after this !!
This update makes your device too much lagging. Only useful stuff is VoLTE. Battery draining issue.
I returned to slim ROM after trying this nonsense.
I struggled a lot to install custom ROM after this update. I think you have to downgrade to previous marshmallow official ROM to install custom roms.

Yes B360 causes bootloop when flashed with other ROMs because of some internal changes not playing good with AOSP/CM stuff.

@adriansticoid yeah i can sense that. But downgrade always poses issues with the phone. Maybe the boot loader is kinda updated along with modem files.... And strangely the thing is that my phone is now not readable in fastboot mode in windows. Though before this update i got it working. :silly:

Before the b360 update my phone was recognized by fastboot installed in Linux ( not able to update fastboot, some issue with pacman). Later I have to try another fastboot in windows.
Try latest adb and fastboot.

Issues.
1. Backup everything if on custom rom because it will erase everything on internal SD card.
2. Its a VoLTE update and some other updates. You will probably not be able to install any custom ROM after this.
Hope it helps.

It was worst kinda of experience. But I am glad that I once again came to know how pathetic the official ROM makes this phone. Official means crap. Now I know why people call this phone nexus buddy !

From my own point of view, EMUI looks classy to people who likes the looks of iOS. But for me, vanilla Android is still FTW.:highfive:
