Galaxy A50 has flagship imx 576 sensor - Samsung Galaxy A50 Guides, News, & Discussion

Great to see that Samsung is using High end sensors even in their budget devices.

Yea this is nothing new really i just wish they would allow us to record 4k videos in the stock camera app.

Sensor, cpu, and storage are all 4k ready. Maybe in a future update

Yea thats what iam saying, its capable of 4k but they limited it.

Honestly, I'd rather have 1080p 60fps then 4k - too huge videos wasting space.

Agree, 60fps is more useful for me than 4K. If the camera had 60fps capability, the slow motion video will be more smooth

No one seemed to post this info about its sensor & I'm the first one to do so, hence the post.
I doubt that they'll enable 4k, though exynos 9610 is capable of doing 4k @120fps.

Iam guessing they wont enable it because a50 is already a good deal and if it gets 4k recording at 60fps or 120fps people will probably not care about the other devices in the A series.

I have a question, why there is no hdr on 25mp? Shooting 25mp on a good lighting condition really gives a sharper and more detailed shot compared to the default 12mp but the only downside is there is no hdr that results in an uglier shot.

Hey bud, you can use hdr mode @25mp using "Open Camera".
I suggest using default non-hdr mode @25 Mp only in daylight/good light.
12 Mp hdr shots would give better images in lowlight due to pixel binning resulting in higher micron size.
Cheers !

[Q] Does the G4 shoot 1080p at 60 fps?

I'm having a very difficult time trying to find out if the rear camera on the G4 can indeed shoot 1080p video at 60 fps? Some reviews on YouTube say that it can, while some others say that it can't. I'm wondering if maybe the preview units LG sent out to testers can't do it and maybe the actual retail units can? Could anyone with a retail unit and not one of the preview units please see if the G4 can actually shoot 1080p videos at 60 fps?
No at this moment
Most of the specs I read say [email protected] and [email protected] Hope that's not a typo because is was hoping for 60fps
---------- Post added at 01:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:08 PM ----------
In this article http://www.tmonews.com/2015/05/lg-g4-review/ it says:
"For this who like to shoot video, the G4 can shoot in resolutions up to 4k (at 30fps). If you want a higher frame rate for a smoother video, you can drop it down to Full HD 1080p and shoot at 60fps. It also has optical stabilization to minimize any camera movements."
Can't guarantee it's accurate but hope so.

Most of the specs say 1080p at 60 fps, but so far no videos actually show it. I have seen 1 video (and only 1 video) claim to be @ 60fps but there is no proof at all it was even shot with a G4. I played with a demo unit at a store yesterday and the unit I used definitely didn't shoot at 60 fps.

Hmm interesting. I wonder if it's only an option on certain carriers right now? Do you remember what exactly what the menu options were? Was it just UHD, FHD, HD, and Slow-Mo or was there another option?
The LG G2 and G3 both have [email protected] so we can assume the G4 does as well. It needs a lot of light to shoot at 60fps otherwise the LG automatically lowers the frame rate. Not sure of the technical reasons but with my G2 I need to be outdoors on a sunny day to get 60fps. I tried last night inside in a dim room and it only recorded at 15fps even though I was on the 60fps setting. Still awaiting my g4 but it's the first thing I'm going to try.
I was finally able to find a video claiming 60fps!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6POQK_3nzw
That's a good start, although I still find it odd that this is the only LG G4 1080 60 fps video that I've seen (aside from 1 other random video that had no info at all). Especially considering how many of these they sent to youtubers to review. I'd still really like to see a screen shot of the menu actually showing the option.

I just took a short test video on my G4 and used MediaInfo software to analyse the file. it was only 30fps. I tried at both 4K and 1080p. There's no option anywhere in the camera app to choose framerate.

Yea, their specs are wrong. Not for the first time.
G3 can record at 60fps via XCAM, future updates might bring 60fps but if not then probably i hope XCAM will come to G4, that would unlock all hidden potential

Video quality

Your friends are never going to believe what you did. The only way to prove it to them is with that video you took. Rate this thread to express how videos shot on the OnePlus 3 come out. A higher rating indicates that videos are smooth (and not choppy) and that auto-focus works very well, and that the camera adjusts quickly to different lighting conditions while recording.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Video quality is okay, nothing great. The stabilization could be better. I also don't like that there is no 1080p/60 option.

I gave open camera a shot and set it to 60fps, it doesn't actually do it, sadly enough. I've tried it both at the default bitrate (~20) and forced it to 5 mbit, both on the old api and the new camera2 api, nothing.
I'm not entirely certain what OP's reasoning behind no 60fps recording is anyway, I hope they'll add it in an update since AFAIK there's no hardware limitations which wouldn't allow it.

Htc 10, lg g5, htc 10, nexus 6p, xiaomi mi 5, none of these offer 60fps. Actually i think of all recent flagships only s7 is capable, i dont know reasons behind this decision of oems
I have an old hardware Zuk Z1 (snapdragon 801, same hardware as oneplus one) and it CAN record great quality 1080p 60fps.
With my Zuk I have low cost phone with great battery, very good responsive, customizable software, and a video resolution I CAN'T GET WITH NEW 2016 FLAGSHIPS.
incomprehensible.
Specially because that is the only reason I don't renew my phone.
But I would be happy to buy oneplus 3 of they add full HD 60fps non slowmotion video recording.
Hope they add it.

Yeah the software needs improvement and the noise cancellation is way too aggressive, I was only able to bump up the audio for the background noise and not disable the noise cancelation. Of course I did that after taking the video
But 1080p60 is possible

There is temp fix for that issue
what iv understood that someone said, that these mobile phone processors cant go constant 60fps video like gopro can. I had it on oneplus1 with Sultan-ROM and fps seemed to fluctuate somehwere between 59fps and 60fps (bsplayer with the i in the upper right corner, it had FPS counter) and i think i saw some small stuttering sometimes.. it looked almost like it were running too fast, hard to compare(and i dont have gopro) but it would be really cool to have it do like gopro but its probably gonna need own chip to make video.. (im not an expert on this matter, just what iv noticed) in the end i just recorded 4k so my daughter can enjoy 4k videos when he's all grown up. 4k downscaled into 1080p is _REALLY_ sharp compared to normal 1080p mode where native 1080p almost looked like youtube quality at 1080p and 4k downscaled to 1080p looked like ripped BR-movie with 11Gb/2hrs .. really crisp.

Is the video recording quality/audio when recording fixed after the 3.2.2 update? Planning on buying this phone over the upcoming note7/s7 edge. I like the touchwiz interface but not the Samsung bloatware apps like their keyboard/gear manager etc..

Pixel XL Video Recording

So with the announcement out of the way, a DXO Mark assessment complete and all the specs published I'm left wondering about video recording. The 6P recorded in 4K at 30FPS, 1080P at 30FPS and Slow Motion at 120FPS and 240FPS and without OIS it was shaky as hell. Both GSM Arena and the DXO Mark list 1080p 30/60/120FPS for the Pixels which piqued my interest.
Will we be getting 60FPS 1080p?
The image stabilisation on at the demo looked very impressive too and I believe that was at 4K but we'll have to wait and see if it's actually that good...

At long last, if this is available and the stabilisation is as good as they demo'd it'll be a great camcorder.

Anyway, I'm really suspicious about this new kind of EIS, because no matter what, EIS is really far away to give similar results than OIS.

Looks good indeed, because stabilization usually doesn't work on 4K, but still we can't guarantee that the video was edited or manipulated in any way; we should wait for real reviews and camera tests, because I think is the only good thing this phone has.

Saw the video and yeah I can confirm that the phone can shoot 4k at 60 fps with the new OTA update but I just tried recording a slow motion video and it's just at 240 fps and I can't seem to find the 960 fps option.
You mean the video of Jaime Rivera? He doesn't know what he is talking about, the g7 doesn't have 960fps at 720p, just tested and it's 240fps.
I don't even have the 4k 60fps option.

That's because your phone is not on the last Ota update
The reason that the phone can't shoot in 960fps is because there's no dedicated chip for it. For example Samsung uses dedicated fast storage chip to store the footage of the video and then transfer it to the main storage. LG doesn't have that chip plus the sensor only officially supports 240fps 720p but I noticed that it also supports 1080p 240fps .
Why we don't have that option is a mystery.

Damn, so not even a software update can turn it on? That's sad.
Anyone else think that [email protected] is disappointing.. Lots of jello and inaccurate focusing. [email protected] send a more consistent option, tried to upload to you tube with 60 and it looked awful!

Personally I prefer 4k 60fps. From what I recorded it seems stable and I have no problems with it.
Edit: here's a link of what the camera module is capable of: https://www.google.bg/url?sa=t&sour...FjAAegQIAxAB&usg=AOvVaw3vRFp9OMzb9J76fPbULXws
