FM Suddenly available... NO ROOT - Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) Guides, News, & Discussio

Should i have pushed the A5 and S8 more?
I am not done.
Good start and unexpected.
Thank you for contacting Samsung Customer Care.
I appreciate your time taken for reporting the discontinuity of FM radio function on the Samsung phones.
As you know that all the Canadian variant Samsung phones do not come with built-in FM radio app, but the radio feature can be used through the downloaded apps. After the recent software update on Galaxy A8, the option to use the FM radio even with downloaded apps is unavailable.
However, it should be resolved in the next software update to this model. Please keep an eye on updates about software schedules posted in Samsung Members app for more information.
Please feel free to contact us anytime for assistance on Samsung products.
Thank you for being a Samsung Customer.
Kind Regards,
Nancy

T-Mobile upgrade?

Just out of curiosity, where would the upgrades made available? From t-mobile, I mean. I thought it was supposed to be in the "My T-Mobile" page, but there is no indication of such upgrades (or any future ones)?
Is there anyone who has seen T-Mobile releasing upgrades for others (like MDA compact, etc etc). Or is this non-existance? (like in this case?)
Dunno for WWE but german updates/upgrades will be made available @ http://www.t-mobile.de/software/
For blackberry on mda2/3 they are @ http://www.t-mobile.de/business/blackberry/software
cheers
T-Mobile is so far the slowest upgrader in the universe......
You'll be waiting a long, long time.
People are actually considering bringing this issue to consumer organisations. The upgrade policy of T-Mobile borders on criminality.
No sarcasm here, this is a plain fact, if you want a rom upgrade, get it somewhere else.
Ah~ so, it is a good thinking-action to flash the ROM from T-mobile's to Jasjar.
Right now, I am still looking through google about T-mobile && update which only points to a dead link on Hewlett packard's pda upgrade.
So, I will stick to upgrading it as a jasjar instead of as MDA Pro. Thanks!
Correct! T-Mobile is slow on updates. I mentioned several software bugs I've encountered (Media player full screen, Windows Security update, freezes after power off, etc etc) to T-Mobile representatives and they replied that the MDA Compact had been on the market for 9 months and still had no posted ROM upgrades. Short answer: Don't expect update ROMs from T-Mobile any time soon. (Besides, they probably think posting updates promotes end-users flashing their own ROMs, which from their perspective is a liability; foolishness!)
I spoke with t-mobile tech dudes earlier in the week, and there is to be a compact release soon, and a pro one after that.
Time to learn how to cook roms I spose and create our own t-mob one.
http://t-mobile.iris-global.com/
This is where T-Mobile will post new rom updates, another way to get there is to go to http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/webnwalksoftware/
BTW the reason tmob takes so long to update everything (roms, hset range) is cos they like to watch other networks for all the problems happening and then fix those problems before release, ie before the 6630 was released on tmob the nokia test hsets sent out did not give the option of doing a network selection or changing from dual band to gsm, they waited for other net to have problem then sold newer version.
also what barnowl what do you mean by 'The upgrade policy of T-Mobile borders on criminality.'??????

Samsung: Galaxy S III's universal search function 'inadvertently removed',

Samsung: Galaxy S III's universal search function 'inadvertently removed', will return to UK models in the next few days
According to Engadet anyway.
It doesn't seem to be in the update that got pushed out today for us at Sprint, but maybe on the next one?
http://www.engadget.com/2012/07/26/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-universal-search-function-reinstated/
Probably only applies to the i9300. It doesn't have to comply with US laws.
Actually, it was disabled in the US versions purposefully as they were trying to stave off any further injunctions (like the Galaxy Nexus). The international version disabling was the mistake.

Samsung Pay issue

Hello,
I'm looking at bringing the international version of the Note 7 over from the UK to the US when I move in a few weeks..
I saw somebody on another forum say that I may have issues with Samsung pay in the US using the international model. Wondered if anybody may know why this would be?
Thanks.
In the past, only carrier editions supported Samsung Pay in the US. I'm not sure this has been changed.

Buying a Galaxy Watch in Korea?

Hi,
I'm planning to buy a Galaxy Watch in Korea, to use in France, because I'll have the opportunity to buy it for much cheaper over there.
I've read in forums about older Samsung watches that Samsung Pay might be region-locked. Is it true for the Galaxy Watch too? Is there a way to hack it to change the region, and change a Korean watch to a European one?
I think it is eloisant. I have a chinese version bought from Todydeals online and samsung pay is missing. When I press in the back button nothing happens and in settings is says there is no payment softwear installed. Please could someone give me instructions for how to change it to UK version if this is the fix. Cheers
no samsung pay on US version
i have model SM-R820 and haven't been able to find the samsung pay app. I have tried a few things, like updating OS, resetting the phone, but no luck getting app on my Galaxy Active 2 watch. Any ideas?
