Boost mobile auto retrieve mms issues plus 3g data

Is anyone who have there device flashed to boost mobile have had recent issues with mms not auto retrieving or device keeps going to 1xrtt? I already have auto retrieve message settings checked off and mobile data enabled for whatever reason I only have a option to click on download. It was working before with stock messaging app and hancent. Now both have issues auto retrieving. The fix I had for apn mms fix was in this thread
Im stock rooted/md4 deodex
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1794956
Steps are below
Method 1 - (the real fix, but requires a rooted phone):
***UPDATE***
I've confirmed that this method works on ICS (4.0.4) and Jellybean (4.1.1 & 4.1.2). Tested and working on Galaxy S3 and Note 2.
1a) Download this working Sprint APN xml file: https://www.box.com/s/40x5ac2c6u0ckzfz59ig (click on download button at the top)
OR
1b) For Boost, download this xml file: https://www.box.com/s/o9folfrq00ee9p2qj5pv (click on download button at the top)
OR
1c) For Virgin Mobile, download this xml file: https://www.box.com/s/9itl21drpp84enqeszc9 (click on download button at the top)
2) Download and install "APN Backup & Restore" from the Google Play Store to your phone: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...pRestore&hl=en
3) Convert the "APN Backup & Restore" into a system app by either using Titanium Backup, or simply use Root Explorer/ES File Explorer (root enable it) to move the APK from /data/app to /system/app.
4) Reboot the phone.
5) Launch the app, click on menu, then click on "Disable ICS Check".
6) In the main app menu, click on "Backup APNs". This will create a directory called "ApnBackupRestore" in your /mnt/sdcard.
7) Copy the xml file from step 1 to the /mnt/sdcard/ApnBackupRestore folder.
8) Go back to the main app menu, click on "Delete APNs" and confirm it.
9) Go back to the main app menu, click on "Restore APNs".
10) Choose the file you downloaded from step 1 and confirm it.
11) Reboot your phone.
12) Done.
It was working fine with auto retrieving but not anymore. Also checking under menu/settings/about phone status shows 1xrtt in multiple locations.I also have friends with boost s3/note 2/s4 and there coverage would be evdo, anyone else having issues with this? It recently just started
anyone?
thank you

[WIP] Complete guide to Robin ★ {26 MAY}

(My thread is also available in the Nextbit Development Forum)
This thread will always be a Work In Progress. Please be patient, as we receive new development it will be posted here. Thank you very much!
Do subscribe to this thread to get notified on any new updates.
The "Complete Guide" series is back, now for the holy Nextbit Robin! (check out my profile for other "complete guide" threads for my past devices)
First things first, this guide is made mainly for our great Nextbit Robin - Ether. Some steps may or may not work for other phones...
Please note that the results of the following methods may vary. I will not be held responsible for destroying your device. PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK.
For increased chances of these working, ensure you're on the latest version of Robin.
If you don’t know what rooting, flashing and *explosion* means, this probably isn’t the thread for you.
Credit me if you want to take anything from this thread. DO NOT create duplicates of such threads.
Enjoy!
Complete guide to all things Robin:
NOTE: The chapters are in chronological order, meaning everything after Chapter 2 assumes you already have root and unlock.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CHAPTER 0: TERMINOLOGY (in my own words)
- Terms
- Tidbit
(To be honest, if you need to even look at this, this thread isn't for you.)
- Root: Gaining full administrative control of your device. "Jailbreaking" in terms of Android.
- ROM: The customized operating system that your Android runs on.
- Kernel: The thingy that links software and hardware
- Radio: The thingy that sends and receives messages, calls and data.
- Flash: Installing a zipped file in Recovery Mode
- Recovery: The software that allows tweaking and flashing, and other weird stuff that will destroy your phone.
- Fastboot: The thingy that allows recovery mode to happen.
- Brick: The term says it all.
- Bootloader: Quite literal; loads the phone for bootup.
- Nandroid backup: A backup-ed image of your current system
- ADB: Android Debug Bridge; some command line tool that sends information from and to the phone to, and from the computer
- CWM: ClockWorkMod; a recovery system
- XDA: The holy website that is full of weird stuff that makes your phone wayyyy better.
Now let's paint a picture:
Imagine you are your Android phone.
Before "rooting", you are trapped in jail.
Upon "rooting and unlocking", you are released from jail.
You go to a shopping mall named "XDA".
You find a credit card lying on the floor from the company "Recovery". On the back, it says there is no passcode required, and there is a infinite amount of money inside.
You enter a store and get a sweatshirt with the word "ROM" on it.
You didn't buy the shirt, the shirt just happens to be free, but still requires you to swipe your credit card anyways.
You keep the receipt as a "backup", just in case the shirt spoils.
Just then, you get greedy and get all the badges in the store.
Stupidly, you pin all the badges on your shirt, turning it as heavy as a "brick".
Then, the shirt rips, unable to put (it rhymes with boot) it back together again.
Luckily you still have the receipt to return the shirt, and return back to your good old disgusting shirt.

- Nextbit drivers are installed on your computer: http://bit.ly/Robin_USB_Driver
- A proper and working Wi-Fi network
- Enable Developer Options
- Enable USB Debugging
- Ensure Robin is charged to at least 50%
- Original and genuine Nextbit in-box USB cable
- Backup all files!
---------------------------------------------------------
CHAPTER 2: ESSENTIALS
- Backup
- Root
- Unlock
- TWRP
- Flashing
- Restoring backups
BACKUP:
Titanium Backup Method:
Use “Titanium Backup” batch backup
1. Menu -> Batch
2. Run -> Backup user apps + system data
OR:
Manual Non-Root Method:
- Messages: “SMS Backup & Restore”
- Contacts: should be synced with the cloud, if not: Export to SIM card
- Calendar: should be synced with the cloud
- Notes: use “Google Keep”, it will be synced with the cloud
- User Dictionary: “User Dictionary Backup”
- Call Logs: “Call Logs Backup & Restore”
- Launcher (assuming you use Nova Launcher): Settings -> Backup & import settings -> Restore or manage backups
- Apps: “Helium” or any other app
- Nandroid Backup
store all backups in internal storage and transfer to your computer
ROOT + UNLOCK + TWRP RECOVERY:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nextbit-robin/development/tool-robin-toolkit-v1-0-root-twrp-t3375908
(kudos to @daavm)
1. Download the tool
2. Just follow the instructions
**NOTE: Relocking again will result in data wipe**
FLASHING:
Clean Flash:
1. Backup your data!
2. Reboot into TWRP Recovery
3. Go into settings and enable “Use Aroma File Manager”
4. Wipe Dalvik, Cache, System & Data
5. Flash your chosen ROM, basebands, firmware updates and other crap
6. Flash any GApps package. (the one I use: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/gapps-lp-gapps-pa-gapps-aroma-installer-t3010798; kudos to @raulx222 & @slim Team)
7. Flash anything else (e.g. frameworks, boot animations, splash screens, themes etc.)
8. Reboot
9. DONE!
OR:
Dirty Flash: (flashing without wiping anything, used for updating to newer ROMs or reflashing)
1. Reboot into TWRP Recovery
2. ONLY wipe Dalvik Cache
3. Flash your chosen ROM, basebands, firmware updates and other crap
4. Flash any NEWER GApps package. If you manually installed/updated through Play Store, skip this step.
5. Flash anything else (e.g. frameworks, boot animations, splash screens, themes etc.)
6. Reboot
7. DONE!
It is perfectly fine if the first bootup takes a while, that is perfectly normal. Upon boot, Android will optimize itself so just let it do it’s work. Do put the phone under a fan as it does tend to get hot when optimizing since it is at max brightness or some dumb reason.
If it takes ages (like over 10mins) to boot up, it means you might have bricked your phone! Do source the XDA indices for any unbricking tutorial, or keep a lookout for an update on this page for instructions. (I don’t have any/don’t need to find any as I have never bricked any Android, so ya.)

DO NOT dirty flash if your newer ROM:
- Doesn't allow/support it
- Has a major update
- Has a Android version or firmware jump (e.g. from Lollipop to M)
- Is a totally different ROM from the previous one (e.g. from Stock to Cyanogenmod)
If after dirty flashing you experience any ROM issues (e.g. battery drain, lag etc.), I would advice you to do a clean flash instead.

RESTORING BACKUP:
Titanium Backup Method:
1. Use “Titanium Backup” batch restore
2. Menu -> Batch

4. Once done, go to Backup/Restore on the main app interface
5. Restore manually: Calendar Storage, Internet Bookmarks, Messaging SMS/MMS Prefs, Phone SMS/MMS/APN, User Dictionary, Wi-Fi Access Points**
6. Launcher Settings: (assuming you use Nova Launcher) Settings -> Backup & import settings -> Restore or manage backups
**What can I manually restore?**
Red: DO NOT RESTORE, YOU’LL END UP BRICKING/BOOTLOOPING YOUR PHONE!!!
White: 99% safe, go ahead
Green: 70% safe, beware of potential brick
Grey Stirkethrough: DO NOT RESTORE

https://f-droid.org/repository/browse/?fdid=org.adaway
Control
- Download "SELinux Mode Changer" from F-Droid
https://f-droid.org/repository/browse/?fdfilter=selinuxmodechanger&fdid=com.mrbimc.selinux
Task Management
- Download "Greenify" or "Servicely"
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/oasis-feng/greenify/
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/francisco-franco/servicely/
Honestly, I don't encourage battery managers such as "Battery Doctor" or "Clean Master (Speed Booster)" as realistically, it takes up more battery or RAM in trying to keep the app open to "properly manage the battery". Yes there are benefits such a having a zippier G3, but there are better methods out there.

CHAPTER 8: ADDITIONAL INFO
- Device Architecture
Architecture: arm64 + arm
Screen DPI: 480
Drawable Class: xxhdpi (extra extra high density)
Google Play services - Build Suffix: (-448)
How does this affect me?
Well, when you install apps, downloading the correct arch version means the app is better optimised for our phone (and you'll potentially save some internal storage space too!)
As for Google Play services, you MUST install the correct build version. (Example: v9.0.90 (448-xxxxxxxx) )

Except it doesn't! Nextbit have explicitly stated that rooting your phone or loading a custom ROM etc will NOT void the warranty.
For increased chances of these working, update your KDZ to Lollipop first using OTA or Flash Tool.

[Guide] root ZVI / lower, Install TWRP, SIM Unlock, Enable Tethering, Remove KingRoot

How to Root
0. If you have ZVH and below stock ROM, jump to the next section and follow the SuperSU root method.
1. For ZVI, Simply use Kingroot and let it do it's work. Copy the apk to the internal SD.
2. You can download any root required apps to verify from Playstore. I like to install Holo Light Reboot. It has the option for rebooting to recovery.
3. Download and run Auto_Rec for LP from Playstore. Make sure you wait until you see a message saying ready to install.
4. Make a full backup from TWRP before playing with anything.
5. Optionally update your TWRP to the latest from this post, or direct download link from here.
To install SuperSU and remove Kingroot: (Since none of the posted method works for me, here are the step that I tried)
1. With Kingroot still installed, follow step from this post to install SuperSU: Installing from Playstore didn't work for me.
2. Launch Kingroot and go to setting menu and uninstall Kingroot. During the uninstall process, it will ask you to remove all other Root/SuperSu or something, just say no.
3. After a reboot, goto playstore and update it (maybe optional), for me, I have to goto the SuperSU setting menu to install it into System; otherwise it won't update binary. You need to do this twice before it will actually install itself into the system.
4. Update binary should work.
Permanent SIM unlock (You can now use both Sprint LTE and GSM):
1. Please follow this post TwoClick Tool.
2. APN setting likely disappeared at this point for ZVI rom. The final trick to enter your APN is to install an app from Playstore call "Change APN"
3. Power off, Insert you SIM card, then enter correct APN and select correct Network Mode. Globe is to0 slow to switch, I would choose either LTE/CDMA for Sprint or FreedomPop and GSM/UMTS for all other GSM sim card. (No need to run the re-lock script.)
P.S. I did do a system update on PRL after the unlock script from TWOClick-Tool but I don't think it matters, or maybe it does!
Enable Tethering Permanently (the easy way)
Remember the steps for installing SuperSU above, open a command window and enter the following:
1. Type adb Devices to make sure the phone is connected.
2. Type adb shell settings put system tether_entitlement_check_state 0
3. Reboot. Done
Have Fun!

Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930P) Root & Xposed Framework install Without Voiding Warranty

Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930P) Root & Xposed Framework install Without Voiding Warranty
- So there are many posts about Rooting the Samsung galaxy s7 where some people will say it trips knox and others say it's to complicated.
- This easy guide includes resources from other XDA developers whom I was able to use to root my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S7 and install Xposed Framework without voiding my warranty.
-You can try what ever firmware you are on, however there are many reports of issues on the new firmware. when i first did it on the newest firmware i got a boot loop but easy to fix just by re-flashing the firmware with Odin.
- Unfortunately this method will erase all data if you are not currently in PE1 firmware
- You will not Brick your phone with this method, because it is very easy to just reflash the firmware with Odin.
Here is the link to download a RAR with all of the nessecary files!
-->https://mega.nz/#F!Egt23TLa!NrynMKoUvwngnsse2zo6hw<--
-I am not responsible for any damage done to your device through any steps taken tword rooting your Samsung Galaxy S7
-You will loose all your data if not currently on PE1 Firmware
- I am not to credit for all of these procedures, I only figured out how to Enable Tethering which im sure has been figured out by someone else as well.
The RAR file attached has ALL of the files you will need for the whole guide.
-So download and extract all of the files from the RAR
-Or you can follow each link to download the necessary files
1.Preparing:

- It will ask you a series of questions, hit "Y" each time and hit enter
- Then it will bring you to a diver installation wizzard
- Click next
- Click finish
- You have successfully installed ADB
2.Flashing PE1 Firmware:
First off this method does require PE1 firmware. So here's how to get your Samsung Galaxy S7 to PE1 firmware:
-You can get the PE1 firmware in the attached RAR file
1. Connect your Samsung to your computer via OEM micro-usb cable.
2. Power down you samsung
3. Once powered down, hold Volume Down, Power, and the Home Button all at the same time
4. You will get a blue screen that says warning, read the text and the press Volume Up to select "Continue"
5. Launch Odin as Administrator
6. In Odin click the button "AP"
7. Select the "AP_G930PVPU2APE1_CL7925126_QB9448520_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5" file
8. In Odin now click the button "CP"
9. Select the "CP_G930PVPU2APE1_CL7925126_QB9448520_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5" file
10. In Odin now click the button "CSC"
11. Select the "CSC_SPT_G930PSPT2APE1_CL7925126_QB9448520_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5" file
12. Then in Odin, press the botton that says "Start". Odin will begin flashing the PE1 firmware.
13. Once Finished, Odin should say "Pass", and your Samsung should then boot up to a first time setup procedure.
3.Before you Begin Rooting:
Once You have finished flashing PE1 firmware you should then download the following apps to your Samsung:
-Package Disabler Pro or EZ Package Disabler (both will do the job)
-Flash Fire
-Build Prop Editor
If you use Snapchat, now is the time to download, install, and login to the app
-Snapchat denies login to rooted andriod users, especially if Xposed Framework is installed.
4.Rooting:
Now that you have the pre-procedure done, go to the link directly below and start at "Here we go" for the rest of the rooting procedure instructions. Necessary files for colormedroid's precedure will also be in the attached RAR file.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-galaxy-s7/how-to/sm-g930p-root-t3410604
Once you have finished rooting you may follow the next steps.
5.Installing Xposed Framework, Xposed APK, as well as a tether mod
-Go to the link below and click on the tab that says "CLICK TO HIDE CONTENT" under the header "INSTALL XPOSED"
-Follow psouza4's steps to Installing Xposed
-However I have attached a better APK for xposed.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...-to-notes-root-install-xposed-unroot-t3411039
6.Installing Xposed Module X tether for free native tethering
1. Go into the Xposed app
2. Tap on the 3 dashes in the upper left corner
3. Tap on the tab that says "Download"
4. Search for the module "X Tether"
5. Tap on the X Tether module
6. Tap the tab that says "Version"
7. Tap "Download" on the newest version
8. Then go back to the panel that has the option "Modules"
9. Tap the check box next to the "X Tether" module to activate it
10. Reboot
11. Bear with me here is gets a little more complicated
12. No that Xtether is installed and activated, we are going to edit a data base file to be able to use the native mobile hotspot
13. Download SQLite Editor app from the playstore (it does cost money, and there are probably others that can do it but this worked for me) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.speedsoftware.sqleditor&hl=en
14. Open SQLite
15. Tap the tab that says "Files"
16. Navigate to /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases
17. Then tap "telephony.db"
18. Then tap "carriers"
19. Look for the 2 lines that say "APN2 LTE internet" and "APN2 EHRPD internet"
20. Down those lines under "type" they both say "default, mms"
We will be changing it to say this
21. Tap on "default, mms" then tap the pencil in the upper right of SQLite. This will enable you to edit this setting.
22. Scroll down until you see the type "default, mms"
23. edit this to say ""default, mms, dun"
24. Tap save
25. Do this for both "APN2 LTE internet" and "APN2 EHRPD internet"
26. Exit SQLite and restart your phone
You can now enable the hotspot as if it were part of your service plan. If you go into to you settings>Hotspot and Tethering
Happy Tethering
How can I tell what firmware I am on? I don't see anything similar to PE3 in the Settings section of my S7. Thank you!

Did you make sure to include the volte icon and cpu governor fixes? Don't use the debloat zip just use the fixes for those on any other build.

SIM-toolkit (Mobile-ID) not working on custom ROM Pie 9 / General problem

Device: Samsung SM-J510FN / Nordic (NEE)
-ViperOS Pie 9 custom ROM
-Magisk
-Camera fix
-FM Radio fix
-Gapps Nano
It seems that this concerns multiple custom roms, do not know how many phone brands / models.
Here is the link for the ROM I installed --> https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...ls-recoveries--other-development/rom-t3908299
I tried about 9 different custom ROMs from other developers, and all have the same problem, SIM-toolkit not working correctly.
Problem is that I can use this Mobile-ID system partially, but when it asks PIN code, the enter button does not work. It does nothing. I can open SIM toolkit app before this action, when my phone is just rebooted, but after this action it just does not open. After reboot works once (partially, until hitting the enter, then freezes).
Developer (?) said it just is not working, I bet he would fix it if he knew how. Seems to be a source bug
Phone being rooted, or not, has no effect on this problem.
There is one 3 year old guide in Finnish forum, but I have no idea does this help (I already HAVE SIM toolkit-app, but it does not work):
With rooted custom ROM:
1. Is there /system/app/Stk -folder that contains Stk.apk?
2. If not -->
3. Download same version stock ROM
4. Unpack it
5. Open system.img with 7-zip (windows)
6. Go to "app" folder
7. Copy "Stk" -folder to phone
8. With Root explorer (or similar) remount /system read/write mode
9. Copy "Stk" folder to /system/app/ folder
10. Reboot phone
11. It should now work.
I can not get stock ROMs to open so I could find the file for Pie 9. I have Linux Mint 19 and win 10 machines, but nothing :silly:
Does anyone have ANY idea how to make this Mobile-ID work at all?
