Cheaper Warp Charger/Cables - OnePlus 7 Pro Accessories

Has anyone found any cheaper option or alternatives to warp chargers and cables? I know that I am able to get 15W using PD, but I wanted to know if it was possible? I was thinking on getting those cables that support Huawei and Oppo fast charging protocol and test them, but I realized that most of them uses 5A instead of OP 6A

Weird they worked when I posted:

Lots of options:
https://www.aliexpress.com/wholesal...in=y&SearchText=warp+charger&switch_new_app=y

I just both 2 sets (warp charger EU + dash cable 1m) with 13.28 $/piece. From China.

$19 shipped to the US. Just submitted the order
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000019048273.html

For reference, I purchased one of the Chinese second-party "original" warp chargers for the Oneplus 7 pro (specifically, this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Official-O...var=691546290084&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649). The Ebay one was $26.99 with taxes/shipping. By comparison, through the OnePlus website, a warp charger brick by itself is $29.99, and then a 100cm warp cable is $19.99 and a 150cm warp cable is $24.99. Plus, if your order is under $100, another $6.99 for standard shipping or $9.99 for express shipping.
I also purchased a device that plugs into the wall outlet and measures the wattage being drawn from the outlet by a plugged in device. With the warp charger that came in the box with my OP7P, at 20% battery, the measurement would show that it was pulling 36 watts for a couple of minutes. Once it got to the 35%~ charged area, it would drop down to 27 watts, then at the 40-50% area, it would drop down to 22.5 watts until about 80%, when it would drop to 17 watts.
I also tested the Ebay second-party OP7P warp charger I bought through that link. My guess is that all of the ebay sellers and the options from AliExpress are coming from the same, or similar place. With the second party warp charger, at 20% battery, the measuring tool would show a max draw of 28 watts. By 35-40% charge, it would drop to 22 watts, and pretty soon after that it would drop to around 17 watts (maybe at 50% or 60%). I ran this test in two separate buildings, with the same results.
I also noticed that the USB-A side of the warp cable that came with the Ebay warp charger didn't fit as smoothly into the warp charging block. However, it did seem to take on most of the heat from the charging as the warp charging block is designed to do.
Since the Ebay one does 80-90% of what the Oneplus warp charger does for half the price, I'm just going to keep it and use it and hope that some better, cheaper and effective alternatives come out in the future.

I forgot to mention, i both 2 US warp chargers with EU adapter plug.
The European warp it's more than twice the price. I both 1 earlier with 26 $, now it's above 28 $. Only charger, without cable!

Anyone found any good warp car chargers?

Or you could try this cool looking car charger with Amp and voltage display on the cable connector. Cool idea. But doesn't support Warp charging.

You can also buy a Chromebook USB type C charger from Amazon. I know the type C charger (has a three prong wall plug) that came with my Chromebook charges my Note 9 three times as fast as Samsung's OEM charger. Even without fast charge switched on.
I assume it will work the same for my OnePlus 7 pro.
So, yeah. Chromebook type C charger = OnePlus Warp Charger.

Just got this one for $22.48 from Amazon. Works great.

Bought the same one and it just arrived today.
Looks and feels a lot like the original charger.
I'd be hard pressed to tell which cable is the original if mixed up.

where do i get GOOD cables?
A few years ago I bought a couple of blackberry OEM cables on Amazon, and ever since, those have been my favorite ones because they are really nice high quality cables. Recently, I was looking to buy some more, and I bought a pack of 5 for $10 from the ebay listing below. I can vouch that they are the same genuine blackberry cables I've received in the past.

I don't think its the USB that slows down the charging. It's the charger? I bought plenty of cheap USB and all charge at same speeds using the stock wall charger..

Yes, I would look for genuine OEM cables from a name brand. However, with ebay or other sites that have 3rd party sellers, they will often say OEM when in fact they are knock offs. It is more common with chargers than cables. I felt comfortable with that ebay listing because it looked like an actual picture of the product and not a stock image. Also, I already owned a couple, so I knew what they looked like with the blackberry logo on the end.
USB cables plays a big part. out of my 10 USB cables that i own only 2 can manage to transfer 1A.

I use these all over, have bought many and all are still working great. I use them with a 2A anker charger. Charges my phone very quickly.

I pretty much buy all of my cables of any kind from Monoprice.
I just posted a thread about this yesterday.

It's also got a $10 off $30 deal as well. Make sure to choose the Premium Micro USB cable, as the normal one is not guaranteed to charge quickly.

Yeah I purchased initially because I wanted a flat cable. These really are tangle free and they are tough as nails. I bunch them up, roll them up, tug/pull etc and have yet to have one fall apart or crap out functionally.
Biggest problem I have with it is my coworkers stealing it from my desk!

What's the mA charge rate when you use it with your 2A anker charger? Does it allow fast charge (Full 1050mA)?

sorry, I do not know how to test that...?
I am using it with these chargers:
Anker® 18W/3.6A Dual-Port USB Wall Charger / Portable Travel Charge... http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B8L36A6/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_SVf1sb1DQ2N3K

It definitely charges substantially faster than the OEM wall charger for my Nexus 5. That may be the charger or cable or both.
Would be happy to test the mA charge rate but I assume I would need an ammeter which I do not have.

If you could test that would be great! I just ordered a bunch of high quality full speed micro USB cables from monoprice that I linked above, but I wouldn't mind having some more that were a little more fun and colorful. It's always nice to change things up every now and again.
You don't need a multimeter or anything.
Just get CurrentWidget off of the play store (it's free) and add a widget to your homescreen. Set the update interval to 1 second, and watch for the highest number to repeat multiple times (it will always fluctuate up and down, but the highest number will keep popping up) that's your max. It may take a few minutes to get to the top speed, but you'll know when the same number range keeps showing.
It's probably not 100% accurate, but it gives a good ballpark number. The stock LG charger/cable charges at ~1050mA. If the flat cables allow full speed charging, you should be able to match that.

Installed CurrentWidget and ran the tests - very sad to see these fosmon cables that I love so much are limiting my rate of charge.
I tested the Anker wall charger with both the 3ft and 6ft fosmon cables at work and got a max value of 480mA. At home I got a max value of 518mA
I tested the Anker car charger with both cables and was floating around 350mA
When I got home I compared (using the same outlet) the Anker wall charger versus a Blackberry Charger I have (which is the fastest charger I own) and found a distinct difference. As stated before the Anker wall charger with both lengths of fosmon cable maxed at 518mA. The blackberry charger maxed at 1589mA.
FWIW, here is the blackberry charger I used (no, the cable is not detachable from the wall adapter)

Sorry to hear about the cables, I was going to grab a few if your results were different. And sorry about making you sad bud... I guess you can see that it's not just a high amp adapter/charger that is important, but the USB cable has to support high charge rate as well.
Your Anker wall/car chargers are very good though, if you used different cables (or even the stock Nexus 5 cable), the charge rate would be faster.
I've heard of the Blackberry charger being very good, but to get it in Canada (amazon.com won't ship it here) I have to use amazon.ca and they charge $20+ for it... Which is so stupid considering Blackberry is a Canadian company located in Ontario... You'd think it'd be a bit cheaper in the motherland.
But it's not really necessary for me anyway, I'm making an attempt to have all of my chargers as Qi chargers. I have plenty of 2A adapters, I just wanted really good USB cables to make sure my Qi chargers are getting fully juiced so they can provide the full 1A output.

No worries - if anything I thank you for showing me how to test it. I had read a review on these fosmon cables saying they were fast current but never went so far as to test (because I thought I needed an ammeter to do it).
These cables still have their use, but I will be snagging a few of those ones linked on monoprice for my bedside, work and car chargers.
I am going to look more at fosmon too (maybe reach out with an email) and see if they offer or plan to offer a flat micro USB with more amperage.
Side note: which Qi charger are you using? Specifically using well with those cables from monoprice.

Do you trust 3rd party chargers?

This is my first foray into Android and I love the Pixel 2. It's great and I want to make sure I treat it well. Do you trust 3rd party wall chargers or do you think there is a risk they are bootleg and could damage the phone? I got one off Amazon and it seems to be ok so far, but who knows - (as a new user I can't post a link to the Amazon listing apparently). It's called "Google Quick Fast Charger Gray- Adapter with TYPE C to C Wire for Pixel/XL/C" and came in a discreet package not from Google.
Thanks
Do you know what brand it is? While Amazon is a more reputable dealer than searching on e-Bay...they too are not immune to junk...chargers that don't offer protection...or could result in electrocution. Did you look at the buyer rating to see that they were verified purchases and not fake reviews? What is the wattage and what version of Quickcharge does it support...ideally you want Qualcomm Quickcharge 3.0 to maximize charge speed on this phone. I try to at least stick with more reputable brands...I bought an Anker charger from Amazon that supports both QuickCharge 3.0 and has spots for my wife's iPhone. No issues and quick charging.

IIRC,Google Pixels support USB Power Delivery standard, not Qualcomm Quick Charge. The charger that comes with the phone is a PD charger and you can tell this by the fact that it uses a type c connection at the charger and at the phone. It's supposed to be a safer, more universal standard for fast charging USB c devices.
PuffDaddy_d is correct...disregard my QC3 recommendation...although I do get pretty fast charging with it using a quality Type-A to Type-C cable (presumably because it is 18W). For optimum charging, recommendation for Pixel and Pixel 2 (including standard and XL) is USB-C PD standard. Disregard my charger recommendation although I would till recommend sticking to reviewing your brand...if the one you bought is the one by Google...then you're fine.
I don't think you can get fast charging on a Pixel phone with any USB A charger. I saw just Charging or Charging Slowly at the bottom of the screen on mine with USB A. I was super frustrated shopping on Amazon for chargers because there's just so many fake ones and I couldn't find a Benson list for good chargers. He had some charger criticisms on his Google+ page, but didn't make an Amazon list and searching on G+ makes my head hurt. I went with Monoprice specifically because they're certified; item 24424 for my car charger ($10) and I'm very happy with it. On the office charger, I haven't needed one, battery life has been good enough to not worry, but Monoprice has those at $17, item 24426 or 21674. None of the Monoprice chargers are bundled with a cable, so expect to add $5+ for one. My old Motorola Turbo QC2 wall charger and the iOrange QC3 car charger do no good for the Pixel 2 so I gave them to my dad. I know it probably looks like I'm shilling for Monoprice, but there's so much trash out there. Amazon really sucks at this. Walmart and Staples just plain don't have a real USB C cable in their stores, though Walmart does have a real Samsung USB A-C cable for the same price you'd pay for a two pack from Anker or Cable Matters on Amazon, and I think that's pretty OK for retail. The Nintendo stuff seems OK if you're in a pinch. Gamestop has a Hori car charger (15W, not Power Delivery, cable attached) for $20 and the Nintendo branded wall charger for $30 (39W, has Power Delivery, cable attached). There aren't always cell phone stores around when you're jammed up.

Power bank for Pixel XL

Hi all,
I'll be travelling a fair bit next year and have been looking for a power bank for my Pixel 3XL. I'll also be carrying a 12.9inch ipad pro (2017) and a wireless headset so looking for a power bank to charge all these devices. So far, I have narrowed it down to the following two.
Aukey brand
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AUKEY-X...=item33f038d3bc:g:Z8cAAOSw9~5bxT6V:rk:22:pf:0
RAVPower
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/RAVPowe...3d5659495:m:mynNtkL-bAdL42f2CJQnV-A:rk:2:pf:0
What you guys think? Is there any other that's better?
Thanks!
Ideally you want a power bank that will both charge up via USB C and output on USB C, so pretty equal it looks like, go for the larger capacity if you can since you can get a couple more charges out of it.
Not sure how much juice you're looking for but this one comes in a type c option and the size is nice too. Price is hard to beat too. Been using mine for well over 3 years now.
https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=15120
I have a power bank that doubles as a car battery booster. I use it to keep my phone and tablet charged. I then have a solar charger that keeps the power bank somewhat charged. Still have to refill at weeks end. It's 15,000 or so. I'll have to grab it from the car. Get a solar charger as well. Hands down best purchase I have made. It charges almost anything
I've got this guy, use it for camping and backpacking came with a 45w charger as well. Metal housing, I like it. Only 2 ports but that's alright, have never had a need to charge more than two things at once anyway.

I've got this guy, use it for camping and backpacking came with a 45w charger as well. Metal housing, I like it. Only 2 ports but that's alright, have never had a need to charge more than two things at once anyway.

Not to resurrect an old thread but I wanted to also recommend this portable charger. Pricey, but it's great quality and the best I found.
Sorry for the laaaate reply lol. I should have mentioned I'm in Australia.
Jackery power bank is pricey af, comes to about $224 aussie dollars and amazon don't ship it to Australia. More than likely, I'll go for RAVPower or this one https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Cygnett-ChargeUp-Pro-27000-72W-USB-C-Power-Bank-Black-/113341919303
I just ordered this one...will be here tomorrow.

25w car charger

Did anyone find a good fast car charger?

Try any type from Anker. As long as it has qualcomm fast charging, it is fast enough. Only a couple minutes behind stock samsung charger.
I have advice for you.

Edit From My Post Below. As I looked more into this, my wall charger that came with my phone is just a small 25w box EP-TA800 which I don't understand why accubattery says its getting 5,000+ mAh from it but needless to say the baseus car charger below is able to supply the 25w means while my Anker charger doesn't https://www.amazon.ca/Anker-Charger...rger&qid=1575374418&smid=AREE309N4XPXI&sr=8-5 . It looks like I need a new cable to make this 45w thing to work, if it even works with baseus. but still better then the pixel 2 xl 16.3W charging speed. But even if one where able to achieve 45w charging speeds. It would only be good for the first %50 the rest cuts down in speed.
The Baseus 45W Quick Charge 4.0 3.0 USB Car Charger For iPhone Xiaomi mi Huawei QC4.0 QC3.0 QC PD 6A Fast Charging Car Phone Charger from https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33020251902.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4dO0uWdy "usb-c version" seems to be working good. Provides the full 5 Amps just like the one that came in the box with the phone. I even got the baseus red 2m usb-c cables. I'm not sure if its a fluke or if there any good at all.
I Do Not Know if it will be just as good but, I just ordered the cheaper version https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32970589225.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.a30b4c4d1oAVXd without the display usb-c version which I won't see for another two months due to shipping. Unless its being shipped by ePacket which only takes a week or two to get the item. Also got the same charger https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33042906407.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4d0fTcdC from a different vendor
I did however ordered the car charger originally for the oneplus 7 pro thinking it was going to charge that sucker up very fast but it didn't and i wasn't going to spend over 50 bucks for a car charger

I actually got it too from ebay and can confirm it works just like the original charger, I think it might be actually charging up to 45w.

It seems to achieve the 15 / 20 volts, I'll need to be on a 24 volt system. I'll have to wait has my battery on my phone is only 54%

The charger said 26.2V, 9.32V and, 2.75A and its able to support 15V at 3A and 20V at 2.25
Supplying 24V to the Baseus car charger, it only supplied 9.32V X 2.75A = 25.63‬Watts which is about the same just using 12V
My current cable only supports PD 2.0 60W, 3 Amps
The 100W cable says it can do PD 2.0 with Gen2 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/329...chweb0_0,searchweb201602_6,searchweb201603_52
Not all cables are the same. But i'm calling this as a good 25Watt charger with cable combo just untill it burns out
Its pretty crazy that Samsung chose the latest PD 3.0 variant with PPS, requiring the odd 10V at 4.5A. Clever heat management, but until now I came up empty finding the exact supporting charger other than the Samsung original who also seems to have its challenges. This article is pretty clear https://www.gsmarena.com/dont_just_..._for_the_samsung_galaxy_note10-news-38837.php
Not that I really would want such a fast charger to become my daily driver, fearing added wear on the battery, but for the rare occasion where I really need juice and do not have a powerbank handy, following if the community finds any solution.

Any USB-C PD 30W charger should work. Check out Amazon. If you want you can get a PPS charger, but PPS is not necessary.
Please note the Pixel 6 only supports 22 watt fast charging.

Not a PPS charger and Anker apparently does not have one for cars.
Something like this would be slightly better and future proof:

works fine, charges fast
BTW, charging tests with the new 30w Google charger and the Google charger from my 2XL were almost identical anyway...if the phone only charges at 22W, then any charger over 22W is sufficient...
That's absolutely false. If you have some random Quick Charge or proprietary charger at 30W or higher, it will not charge at 22W. Might only charge at 10W, not even 15W or 18W.
My Warp Charge 30 bricks can only do 10W.
Charger must have at least PD support.

This one does have 30w but isn't PPS so don't think it'll actually hit the 22w since that's how Google's limited the charging.

To get the limited 22w charging that Google's put on the 6 Pro you do need PPS. The fastest PD will do is 18w.

It's not the prettiest solution, but seems to work well. No more cables to mess with. Just throw the phone on the pad and drive off. Probably not the fastest charger, but it's enough to run GPS and music, while still gaining charge, which is all I need.
Make sure the wireless charger supports the 15W Qi EPP (extended power profile) feature.
Otherwise you're stuck at 5W. Most no-name charging pads or cars with built-in wireless charging have been falling into this category but newer ones like the Tucson are 15W.
I'd like to know what the phone and Pixel Stand expect for 23W charging.
This Spigen is nice, name brand, high quality charger. It doesn't fit in one of my cars though, it's too short. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B08PRZ815M/

Received mine yesterday and was pleasantly surprised it came with a long, braided Type-C cable. I didn't actually read the description. There was a $6 coupon so I jumped on it. Will try to test and see how much current it outputs later this evening.
Considering I was at 36% the 4,148A charge current is pretty good. The highest I've seen with a PPS wall charge was 4400+.
I would've gained more in 28 minutes but 25 of it had YouTube running. Don't worry I pay attention to the road. The screen off %/h is right up there with my PPS wal charger.

This one? That would be interesting if it really charges well for you because everyone else I've seen has had issues with OnePlus charges because it's not even Power Delivery. This one in particular is either the Warp Charge 5V=6A max or old slow 5V=2A charging.

Not to mention warp charge is completely propriety, requires specific circuitry in the phone and a USB lead with non standard wiring.
Is this good for pixel 6 charging because it's 5v-3amp, I have it already but just want to confirm if it is good enough and will not effect battery health in long run since it is 15w while charging.

one thing I suggest, is don't skimp out on a car charger. many years ago, I messed up a few phones using crappy car chargers. the Zus Smart Charger is the best car charger I've ever used. the quality is incredible. its half price in the US at $16.99 (they should pay me or something!) -

it's not the fastest, it charges my 6Pro at like 1200mah or so...but the quality alone is worth it. I've been using it since 2017 and I've charged all my pixels and tablets with it.
this might be the best kept secret - just for the app, that anyone can use for free!
I just wanted to add;; their app is pretty cool, the car charger will show your Voltage level for your car battery and a ton of other things. Their app also connects to any OBD-II adapter via bluetooth and you can have a ton of cool telemetry appear on your phone (like revs, speed, engine temps etc , for those who like that sorta thing). and it will help you find your parked car if you forget where you parked ha! last year they were sending out free OBD_II adapters (but you can use any) and with their free app that anybody can use, you can use it to log your drives by mileage and a ton of other features. it's pretty slick !!
but if you want a crazy fast car charger, the anker that someone posted above is excellent - but in the car, which is usually really hot, I don't want anything fast charging. keeping things cool is what I'm all about//
