I've been meaning to purchase this tablet so I've been looking at the LTE variant.
I looked it up online on my local Samsung site (Malaysia) and I found out it has the Exynos chipset but with LTE. Are there two LTE variants or it's an error on sites like GSMArena? I also went to a physical store and looked at the retail box, on the back it clearly says "1.9 GHz Quad core + 1.3 GHz Quad core". The model number is SM-T705 which has the Snapdragon chipset according to most sites I go to.
EDIT: I went on the Samsung UK site and even the 4G variant sold there has the Exynos chip.

The T705 is an Exynos 5 SoC with Intel LTE Modem.
There is not currently a Qualcomm based Tab S model on the market, and it's unlikely that a Snapdragon version will be released.

There is a recent article from Androidcentral that indicates that the Galaxy S9 variant with the Snapdragon 845 is faster than the variant with the Exynos 9810.

Can anyone confirm if the results are correct?
Based on this feedback and without concern over supported base-bands, I am wondering if there is any other other reason to choose an Exynos variant over a Snapdragon variant.
Would it be safe to assume that the G9650 Dual Sim variant (I think from China or Korea) would be the best option? (Its also considerably cheaper than the G965FD)
That does seem to be the case.
I've seen some real world speed test videos and they're neck and neck.
The Exynos isn't locked either and supports faster LTE. I'd probably go SD845 if you could but if you want to tweak the phone or care about sound quality the Exynos 9810 is the way to go.

I just saw Galaxy S10 Snapdragon variand is WAY better than Exynos in leaked AnTuTu benchmarks and its also 7nm instead of Exynos 8nm...Bad..
So I'm planning on trying to get Snapdragon in Europe...
Any suggestions?

Exactly what I'm looking for. Actually I have Galaxy S9 Exynos in Europe and all it's working really fine, really. But sometimes I think the phone could run a bit faster with many apps, like my Sony XZ2 Compact did with Snapdragon 845, so I know Snapdragon version is faster for S9 and I would move to that one.
Can someone tell me if there are any issue having a Snapdragon variant in Europe? As for the mobile network I want know if it will be compatible, because actually S9 Exynos is the best phone I had for network reception.

Buying a phone just for benchmark scores is probably the dumbest thing you can do. No offense, but they mean absolutely nothing and don't simulate real world usage in any way. It's merely a bragging point for OEMs. Besides, basing your decision on scores for a phone that hasn't even been announced yet is an equally bad idea.
Buying a Snapdragon Samsung device would come with these disadvantages:
-Slower updates
-No VoLTE
-No WiFi calling
-No 4G+/LTE-A (depends on region and carrier)
-No Samsung Pay
-No warranty or after sales support in your country
If you want to play games, especially demanding games, stay away from Eyxnos 8920. It comes with a Mali G76 which is as powerful as the 2 years ago's Adreno 530, (Snapdragon 820).
The US version of the Galaxy s10 series comes with the Snapdragon 855 7nm chipset with an Adreno 640 GPU. Thats why Snapdragon is destroying Exynos in all those benchmarks.
So unless you refuse to live in the 2000s and use your phone only to... "call people", follow the benchmarks, and stay away from Samsung EU.

Want to buy a Note 10+ that I can root and use with TMobile
Have been reading a lot and confused which variant to buy
Given I need root, what is the route to go? My analysis so far yields that should buy the Exynos version? Is the Snapdragon version rootable as well?
While the Snapdragon version is "rootable", it comes at some cost (losing full charge capabilities, for one). Exynos phones, as I understand, have unlocked bootloader, making them easier to root. Before you root, however, do some research into the method - there is more than one technique.
There are several posts about this.
North Amerian Snapdragon Note 10+'s (N975U, U1, W) have a locked bootloader. Don't expect to be able to root these phones, regardless what some people/sites claim.
Only Hong Kong Snapdragon Note 10+ (N9750) has unlocked bootloader.
International Exynos versions of Note 10+ (N975F, N975FD) can be rooted, but they lack certain LTE bands used by US T-Mobile which can result in suboptimal speeds in US.

I have a TMO Note 10+ and got it when they came out. My question is does my phone support 5G? I would hope so since I bought it when it was released. The model number is SM-N975U. I just got the upgrade (last night) to UI2 and Android 10, however I have no idea if this upgraded my phone to 5G. Any and all information will be greatly appreciated.

Not entirely sure how it works over there but the Note10+ with 5G over here in the UK is SM-N976B and is specifically called "Galaxy Note10+ 5G" in About phone.
Edit: SM-N975U is not a 5G device but again not sure exactly how it works in the US with differing standards of 5G.
No unfortunately, 5G requires newer modern and thus there's a newest version of Note 10+ that's called Note 10+ 5G that you need to buy directly from T-mobile

Wish it did (bought mine soon after it came out), but the Note 10+ (the SM-N975U) we have doesn't have the 5G hardware in it.
unless you specifically bought the 5G variant there is no way to get it as it is different hardware. it's the same reason in the UK the 4G model is dual SIM while the 5G is a single SIM as the 5G model includes a single 5G modem while the 4G model caries 2 of the much cheaper 4G modems.
it's why I made sure when I purchased to phone at launch to get the 5G variant as there is no software way to upgrade from 4G to 5G, the 5G variant could get on 5G from the day of launch the problem was finding a supplier and a mast that actually supported 5G, but the last couple of months at least in the UK coverage has improved and seems to be accelerating with more firms and towers expected to make announcements January.
The 5G Variant of the Note Plus is N976U - and from what I can see, the specs are the same as on the Note 10 Plus with the exception of the 5G capability.
Something interesting - I ran antutu benchmarks on a N975U (highest score was 475,000) and a N976U (highest score was 496,000) and I am curious why there was such a big score difference between the two phones - they are nearly identical in specs. Shouldn't their scores be closer?
The only other difference I can see is that the N975U was built in Vietnam and the N976U was built in Korea.

If you wanted the 5g version of the phone you should have purchased the 5g version. They have been pretty clearly marked when you purchase them. Perhaps you can exchange your 4g for 5g if you are still within your return window.

The N976U for AT&T and T-mobile has the SD855+ that’s why the scores are higher than the non 5g note..
Actually no, Note 10 5G T-mobile has a regular 855 and not 855+
One plus McLaren has 855+

Actually it does have the SD855+. It’s as simple as downloading CPU-z or a similar app and compare the CPU and GPU speeds to the non 5g version and u will have your answer right in front of you.

I stand corrected, thanks. On the spec page on T-mobile's site, it lists the processor as SM8150(SKU for regular 855) and not SM8150-AC which is the SKU for 855+ which made me think it has 855. MKBHD guy also thought One plus came with faster processor. https://youtu.be/nmnTAOU44SI?t=94

While it is hard to disprove when you apparently have evidence in your hand, I cannot see a single other place on the internet that references the Note 10+ 5G getting the 855+.
It would be interesting to see what's on the hardware tab in the Samsung phone info app.
Edit: Nice man, that's quite the device. Best SOC in the best handset.
Qualcomm didn't waste time differentiating overclocked hardware names on the chips. Even other 855+ phones don't say 855+ in cpu and hardware apps.
Samsung and the carriers don't want to upset people who bought the non 5g and advertise the 5g versions have overclocked chipsets .
I'm sure there's a good reason they didn't call it the 855+ but I'm doubtful it's so other customers aren't upset.
