All my photos won't show up in telegram or messenger gallery. - Google Pixel 3a XL Questions & Answers

So I am on the Android 10 beta program and ever since I installed it I have been having issues accessing my pictures in my apps. In Telegram I have to do a long work around with having to manually go to my pictures folder. In Messenger most of my pictures just aren't showing up at all. Is there some way I can link the folders so they are automatically detected by apps or something?

[Q] Random pics showing up in my Gallery App

Whenever I use an ad-supported app, the phone downloads those pics into your memory so when I use the stock Gallery app to view my camera photos, these random craps also appear there. Is there any remedy to this?
Some programs may DL image files and store them to the device, and since the memory is internal you may have a few show up in the gallery...just delete them.
Also, Picasa and Google+ may be set to upload automatically and those photos may also show up.

[Q] Gallery not syncing to Google Photos?

I have my gallery setup to sync stuff with Google Photos. See the screenshot. But it does not appear to sync anything, when I login to my Google account and check Photos, I end up at a Google+ page which has a section 'Photos from my phone', but this has to do with the instant upload feature of Google+ (which I don't use).
Am I overlooking something here? Is Gallery syncing successfully for anyone?
Same here, the gallery doesn't sync photos taken by the camera :/
Ok. Reported an issue at code.google.com.
Noticed the same thing. Only with me the photo albums on Google+ are showing on my phone while I have every option to show this disabled
Ok according to a reply on my issue there the Gallery sync option only syncs Picasa web albums to your phone. For uploading photos to Google, the 'instant upload' setting of Google+ should be used. This puts uploaded photos in a non-public Picasa web album.
Sounds fair enough, but uploaded photo's are resized and compressed. Not exactly a proper backup in my opinion.
You need to enable auto-sync to see the check boxes.

Ok,
First off Picasa is Google+ Photos. If you have anything in Picasa Web Albums it will be in your Google+ Photos under albums. Google+ Photos will eventually replace Picasa
1. You can not send photos to Picasa direct frorm the gallery anymore, most likely a Google+ thing. You can use the Picasa tool in the market do do this if you need to.
For me I have instant upload enabled on Google+, so any picture I snap on my camera gets uploaded to Google+ Photos. It is by default private so its only viewable to me.
I use the Picasa desktop tool to keep my pictures on my computer in sync with Google+ Photos. If I add any albums to my pictures folder it syncs into Google+ Photos as a private album only viewable to me. You can set different options with the tool to either upload the original picture or a compressed picture suitable for web viewing. The cool thing is is that it does not effect my 100GB of space I have with Google.
With this setup I really don't need to be uploading to many albums direct to Picasa from my phone unless someone sends me a photo through email or something. Even if that is the case I have the Picasa tool which works really well with Androids sharing features. I'm sure in the next release Google might add the abillity for the gallery to be able to view Pictures from Google Drive or Drop Box...that would really be sweet.

Yeah same here. I don't even get the "Instant Upload" option in the account sync settings oh my Nexus running Jelly Bean. What gives? This is honestly getting frustrating dealing with Android and all it's tiny little problems that go unnoticed here and there.
Do you mean you don't have these settings?

[Q] pics and videos on google+ and/or picasa

i've a GS2 and all pictures and videos i take are saved on the phone's internal memory. I installed google+ and my pictures and videos upload directly to google+. Lately, my brother told me about picasa and since i need to manage my phone's memory, i was wondering if:
1- can the pictures and videos uploaded from my phone to google+ be saved on picasa too? and how?
2- to save memory on my 16gig GS2, can i delete the pics and videos from my phone once they are uploaded to picasa or google+?
3- If i get another android phone, can i easily access my pics and videos saved on google+ and/or picasa from the new phone ( the new GS3)?
I will appreciate any instructions or assistance on these questions since i am new to all this cloud thing.
1. I use picasa and when i have auto upload on in Google+ they are also automadically in picasa as well.
2. Yes you can.
3. You can use the gallery app that comes with the phone. if your setup with your google account you will see you pictures that are out in picasa as well.

Sync photos

On vanilla android, there is an option to "make an album available offline". My only assumption that this is for linking to some cloud-storage but what is it talking about? Google Photos? Can you use that with DropBox? Is there a way to use Google Photos without having it sharing with Google+ and what not?
Making an album available offline "should" cache/download selected Google albums to your phone such that they are available even when you in airplane mode. Having said that - all my Google account photos seem to be available, whether I'm on or offline. Also, photos uploaded into Google+ remain private unless you explicitly indicate who you want to share the photo/album to among your Google+ friends/circles.
I've also noticed that my albums whether in Picasaweb or Google+ are available and accessible from either web-app.
Dropbox, from the Dropbox app, has its separate "camera upload" feature to copy your photos to your dropbox folders. Select a private folder to keep your photos private.
But how do you get the pictures to Google Photos? You can't "sync" with DropBox, right, just auto upload? Must you have the photos go to Google+?

[Q] Trouble Syncing Gallery Photos Across Devices

Hey. This should be a really simple thing to set up, but apparently it's not. I have a Galaxy S4 phone and have recently purchased the Nexus 7 to replace my old tablet. All I want to do is have these two devices sync photos with one another, so that the gallery app on each device displays the same content. I'm trying to do this via Google+ as this should be the easiest method.
On my phone I have various albums within the gallery, sorted into different folders on the SD card. In G+ I have the Auto-Backup option ON and my photos and videos are synced and appear here. But they are not organised into the albums I have them in on my phone. G+ on my phone says I've used 7.4GB of my allowance.
Now when I go to G+ on my Nexus 7, and go to the Photos section, it doesn't find anything. However it does find my videos for some reason, but no photos at all. This seems odd since it's the same app, just accessed from two different devices. Now if I go to the gallery app on the Nexus, an album does show up called 'Auto Backup'. But this contains only my most recent photos taken and all my videos.
So G+ isn't consistent between the two devices and neither is the gallery app. This seems to me like something that should be very easy to achieve - I'm wondering if the gallery app I use on my phone is a Samsung version of the stock Android app and is possibly causing problems. But G+ has uploaded everything to my account so it should be accessible from any device, right?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers
Hm, that sounds odd... Works for me on my LG Spectrum 2 and Nexus 7 perfectly fine.
So I'm right to think those arrangements should work fine? I've not missed something?
