Need help to go back to MIUI - Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Questions & Answers

So I recently changed my Xiaomi Mi MIx 2 screen (the one before was broken) and I wss using LineageOS 16 with TWRP.
The problem is that, after I changed the screen, I could not boot back to LineageOS because I was stuck in a grey screen (after booting the phone I am able to see the Mi logo and the LineageOS loading animation, but after that nothing).
I tried to do a Wipe from the TWRP, but whenever I try to open the recovery I get stuck again with a grey logo... (and in the recovery it does not even shows the TWRP logo, just straight the grey screen). I am still able, however, to go in Fastboot mode and I do have an unlocked bootloader
So my question was... does anyone encounteredd the same problem? And does anyone know how to fix it?
Can I perhaps just use the Mi Flash tool from fastboot to go back to stock MIUI without first wiping from TWRP things like Dalvik cache, cache, System ecc... or would this method fail/brick my phone?
Thank you a lot to anyone that would spend time to help me (and sorry for my bad English, I am trying to improve it).
Have a nice day!

The mi mix2s rewrites a new recovery after every boot, so to get TWRP to work you have to flash it from fastboot every single time. So the next time you boot, reflash TWRP, then you can boot into recovery 1 time and flash the rom of your choice

Hi Guys,
Recently i'm changed my broken display of Mix 2 after that when i'm entering to recovery it showing a gray screen also the phone is detecting on PC.
some TWRP worked but after flashing custom ROM same as showing gray screen after finished boot also doing second try the touch not working on TWRP.
Now i'm using Global version of MIUI11, when flashing custom TWRP via FASTBOOT MODE its booting up but after that restarting the phone revert back to the stock Recovery. Earlier i'm used the final version of MIUI12 Weekly EU ROM
Guys if you know any workaround for this please help me to get rid out of this
Thanks in Advance

Z2 Plus Boot issues

I was on AEX and tried a new roms (Pixys, Evolution, Pixel Experience etc) and none of them booted the android.
Tried to restore AEX and even that is not booting. Phone keeps rebooting in loop without booting to any os including the restored backup.
Evolution and pixel after a clean installation says "no os".
Phone stays in start mode and does not move beyond this point.
Phone boots to twrp recovery.
Any idea what is wrong? Have corrupted the phone that it can't be used?
Is there a way out?
Quick solution would be highly appreciated.
Thanks
Anyone has a solution/suggestion for this?Deperate now since there is no alternate phone.
Thanks again
The phone boots recovery and adb commands work whereas fastboot commands don't work. I am able to flash vendor2factory and rom successfully with no error but the phone still not boot android but vibrates and goes back start screen and if i don't press any keys it restarts again after showing the ZUK logo.
I hope i have been able to explain the situation. I am still not able to boot the android despite trying more than one rom.
Anyone has any clues? Thanks

I am having the same problem. I was in pixel experience and i flashed latest pixel experiences august security patch, it showed no os but it booted. But there were several bugs in the rom, i thought it was roms problem and then i tried to flash evolution, it again showed no os after flashing and then i got stuck at evolution x boot logo. So, i tried to qfil zui but to no avail, the flashing process won't even start the qpst tool just freezes after pressing the download button. Then in the twrp i noticed that battery percentage is different at different times sometimes it shows correct value but somes it won't so i thought that the problem might be from twrp and then i flashed new twrp but again same problem. Then i flashed arrow os 10.0 without gapps, it booted successfully then i flashed gapps. After sometime i tried to flash evolution x but got stuck at boot logo again. Finally i flashed arrows os again it booted successfully (i flashed rom and gapps separetly)
So, FINALLY THE TEMPORARY SOLUTION IS TO FLASH ARROW OS IT WILL BOOT SUCCESSFULLY BUT THEN AGAIN OTHER ROMS WON'T BOOT. IF I FIND ANY SOLUTION I WILL POST HERE

When you qfil, the recovery will be lost i think. But since you cannot enable usb debugging i think you wont be able to flash twrp.

I think the problem is our phone is not able to boot big rom i.e. roms of size close to 1gb or more than 1gb since arrow os without gapps is only 600mb my phone is able to boot. If you are able to find the solution or get your phone repaired at any cell repair centre please let me know
bro is your phone working now

Redmi 5A (riva) OS Bootloop + TWRP loop

Well, I will be straightforward... I'm probably pretty much f**ked.
I have a Xiaomi Redmi 5A which was never tampered with, ever. It had Android Oreo 8.1, MUIU 10, never rooted, never unlocked. It was my wife's. She bought a new phone and now I wanted to use this Redmi 5A.
So I intended to flash a custom ROM on it. I did my research and picked Ancient OS for the custom ROM (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-10-0-0_r39-official-ancientrom-civilization.4113993/).
I started all the work. First, unlock bootloader. I used MIFlash unlock provided by Xiaomi itself. Followed all the steps and unlocked the bootloader. After this it was time to flash a custom recovery. I chose TWRP. Tried to use their own TWRP riva image (twrp-3.5.0_9-0-riva.img) but it didn't worked. Whenever I flashed, after rebooting, the stock recovery would overwrite TWRP. This was supposedly because this version of TWRP was based on Nougat and my phone was on Oreo, so I searched a bit more and found a guy who has modified TWRP to work with Oreo. I flash his version and flashed lazyflasher afterwards et voilà! The TWRP installed correctly and was no long overwritten by stock recovery.
After this I made a FULL backup of the stock ROM using TWRP (System, Cust Vendor, Data, Boot, Bootloader, EFS, Persist, Logo) and stored the backup on my computer.
Then I proceed to flash the Ancient OS ROM. First I went to wipe on TWRP > format data > yes. After this I went to wipe again > advanced and selected to wipe Dalvik, Data, System, Cust Vendor, Cache. And finally then, to install and flash the ROM. Things were a bit weird here because when I tried to flash TWRP threw Error 7 which is related to a script protection to determine if the ROM is compatible to your phone. The thing is... the ROM was compatible. I checked the "updater-script" inside the ROM file the code lines to check for the device were correct, it displayed riva as the model, which is my phone. One of the solutions to Error 7 was to eliminate these lines from the script, which I did and so I was able to flash the ROM. Everything went well and reboot to system.
System boot up, splash screen, main screen. All were good. Device timed-out and the screen locked. After the screen lock the only thing appearing were bizarre vertical red lines. Phone was still responsive, but screen was not being rendered properly. Forced reboot, splash screen... and main screen again, all normal. Tested to lock to notice the screen error again, and there it was: red lines just after I locked. Rebooted once again... only this time I went stuck on bootloop (on logo). Decided to boot to recovery to restore things, but, for my astonishment TWRP didn't started. The TWRP logo appeared as if it was loading, but nothing happened and if I leave it like this for some minutes, it just reboots to recovery once again but without TWRP being able to initialize and keept stuck on this reboot to recovery loop.
I don't have the slightest idea how can the recovery be affected by a ROM flash, seriously... I never saw this. It is a completely different partition. Worst of all, everything on TWRP was working before flashing the Ancient OS ROM.
I have no idead what to do. Can't enter system, can't access TWRP and can't use fastboot (most likely because USB debugging was disabled after OS was flashed). If some one can shed some light... it would be truly appreciated.
Auto-reply... Solved this issue flashing the original Stock ROM (I mean the Stock ROM that came with the phone back in 2017; before ANY updates.) with the own Xiaomi Mi Flash.
Be advised: This Xiaomi tool only works with devices that have unlocked bootloader.

Clinically dead Redmi 5A - please help

Hi to all, I just want to ask for some advice or tips. The thing is:
I have one old Redmi 5A Riva. It was lying in the drawer some time, so I decided to try to unlock the bootloader and flash some custom ROM.
So, I unlocked the bootloader - OK
Then I flashed TWRP - OK
Then I decided to make root on stock firmware - OK
Then I tried to flash Lineage OS 17 - after flash it stopped booting.
So I tried to flash Lineage OS 18 - it started booting again but I found out that phone doesn´t detect an USB cable, so I wanted to flash some other ROM instead.
But after few moments TWRP suddenly disappeared (volume up + power on stopped working, only vol. down and power on worked to fastboot) - kinda weird, I said to myself Now I am f**ked up because Lineage 18 was not rooted, I wanted to do it later, so I couldn´t use TWRP app to reflash it.
But after few moments there appeared stock recovery menu, so I thought okay, maybe its not dead, so I try to flash just stock rom. I tried MIUI 10, but again - not booting.
So I did wipe again and tried MIUI 9 - flashing via fastboot and used flash_all.bat attached to rom - it booted up and worked, so I enabled USB debugging again and tried OMNI ROM. I flashed it, after flash it boots up, but after few second screen goes black and nothing else happens.
I am kinda annoyed with this , I flashed many phones, but only Xiaomi makes these weird problems.
Can someone help me to fix this?

Blackscreen after MI logo

I have 2 year old MI 10T 5G, i encoutered a bug, where the headset icon is still on even though im not using it.After rebooting the phone only black screen is showing and cant do nothing the MIUI logo didnt appear after the MI logo powered by android. I did a wipe data and after doing so it asked for my MI Account password, i tried to type my password but it would'nt let me since the keyboard wont show and it keeps on doing a boot loop, im even stucked at fastboot
Supposed you are on stock ROM, you could try to use the Xiaomi flash tool to flash the current system. With wiping cache but not data, your system should then be like before (the bootloop)

Sorry im a newbie is it required to unlock the bootloader?
If you´re on stock ROM and stay on stock, there is no unlocking necessary.
To gain root acess or to install a custom ROM or recovery, you have to unlock the bootloader.
