I just installed a PX6 Unit tonight and noticed that the radio was set to Europe vs USA where I live. Was able to change this in factory settings/Radio in settings. Possibly yours is set to something other then where you live.

Already checked it, im from the netherlands so its europe

Not mtcb

Had a few days to think about this now. I'm guessing the newer shark fin style antennas have amplifiers connected to them. Not sure what you have nickym0162? but it very well could have an amplifier connected. Just an idea to look into.
So no matter what type of aftermarket radio anyone has. If power isn't supplied to the antenna amplifier it just won't pickup very well. If at all depending on current conditions.
I'm 99% sure in my case that I just need to connect the blue power ant wire to my antenna amplifier and radio signal will be restored. Previously I assumed it had no amplifier.

No i got a window antenna , mercedes got no antenna on roof

It'd still be worth verifying that you don't have an antenna amplifier. But with a window mounted antenna you'd think chances are low.

I know, now i buyed a dab+ so in few weeks i got it,
Its better then fm, and with a easy reciever and universal antenna

I wish they had that here in the US We currently have HD radio as an upgrade to traditional FM but very few channels and usually you have to buy a head unit setup for it already.

Today, for this there are quite different options for antennas, repeaters, which amplify the signal from the operator. Thus, you act not on your smartphone or tablet, but on electromagnetic waves, which should reach them.

Poor radio signal fixed
I myself had the same problem, I re opened the unit and re checked the antenna connection and discovered the I hocked the OLD Gps antenna cable instead of the factory Radio antenna, and that was the cause of the poor reception.

wizard antenna mod

hi guys
well i have a question... I was digging out whole day the net for info about any mod for the wizard antenna mod...
I own CIngular 8125 aka HTC Wizard 100, and since I have week wifi signal i thought id get better reception..
so i found some sites including instruction here also but i went for this mod
here http://tinyurl.com/y2gke3 exactly i made the same thing as shown here http://tinyurl.com/v2oxv I cut a small piece of antenna between 2 pins rely..
so, actually nothing happened with my GSM signal, it was same as before, but i found out that my wifi signal dropped a bit, which I wanted to increase...
so, i thought for making this mod here http://tinyurl.com/wq8k2 and id like to know if it gets any better wifi signal strenght...
next thing id like to know, is the issue with the antenna... is the same antenna used for GSM and wifi or what? did anyone managed to get any wifi antenna connection on PCB of a wizard so it can be attached a better antena?
if I connect an external antenna to my wizard, will the wifi signal get any better? the pcb looks similar to this picture http://tinyurl.com/y5p7yh and on the left from sd card is the external link...
is there any possibility to get better wifi strength using any kind of hardware mod? smthg like this for axim http://tinyurl.com/sbf3v so i can connect any wifi antenna...
well guys, i was a bit large writing this post but id reeli want to know of theres any possibility to get better wifi signal...
thanks

How to build an External Anthena

Hi, my G4 is giving me the No Signal problem over GSM, some times it catch the signal but then it loose it after a few minutes, anyone ever build an external anthena or know how to do it?
Thanks in advance!
up.
Same question. How to build such an antenna or where to buy it ?
Reflash radio rom.
Hi,
I will try to upgrade the radio. Which one do would you advice for best gsm reception (don't care about bluetooth/wifi/battery) ?
Anyway, as I'm living in a foreign country near my operator's country, I can get a signal but often very bad, I would still be interested in an antena solution to improve the reception. So if anybody as something about it...
signal problem solved
hi every one
i also had the same problem. i flashed my prophet with every version of windows and gsm rom but it didnt work. then i opened the prophet and straightened the antena connectors and then packed it, it worked full signals.
so check your antena connectors inside your phone.
best of luck.

[Q] Possible to swap antennas?

Since I was a dumb and bought a Tmo TP2 to use on ATT, I was wondering if I could buy the antenna from the ATT version and swap it into my phone. Though I doubt it is, I was curious if this is feasible?
Since both networks are UTMS, not CDMA, and thus use similar frequencies, why, therefore, would you want to disassemble your phone and mess with the antenna system, which should work perfectly well on both networks?
Frankly, it sounds to me like you have a different problem: Your phone is most likely locked to T-Mobile, meaning that it cannot use the AT&T system.
Your problem is therefore contractual, not technological, in nature.
I think the OP was actually asking if he could switch his radio, since the T-Mobile radio will not get 3G speeds on AT&T's network (discussed quite a bit here; do a search).
The answer is no. Although it may be technically possible, it would not be practical. Far easier to just sell your T-Mobile version and by an AT&T one.
Ok yea I guess its the radio. Thought it would be the antenna. Could you please explain the difference. I guess the antenna is solely reception and the radio is what interprets the signal? Is there a broken down pic where you can point out the radio.
I was hoping I could just get this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250525496122&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123
Radio: The electronic hardware used to convert electromagnetic radiation signal (radio waves) into usable electrical impulses to decipher to either data (ones and zeros) or audio (speech, music, etc). May also use software systems to further enhance or aid the deciphering of the received signal.
Antenna: The hardware (often as simple as a long wire, sometimes as complex as an array of directional beam antennae) used to gather said electromagnetic radiation signal, and direct it to the radio electronics hardware.
Hope that helps
Thank you for your replies.
So Im guessing the radio is either expensive to buy or requires to replace the whole motherboard?

[Q] Strange wifi/wireless problem

Hi everyone,
My g7 is having problem with wifi (and bluetooth, but I mostly use wifi). The issue is the wifi signal strength is extremely low. Only when I put the phone just next to the wifi AP, it will get a strength of 3-4 (not full) slots. In most cases if you walk away from the AP for about 5 meters, the strength will go down to almost nothing and becomes very unstable.
bluetooth? even in discoverable mode, it is not discoverable.
I think it might be a problem of some kind of antenna inside it. how could I check? i have disassembled it.
I noticed when I remove the chin of it, the phone signal will go to zero (the GSM signal) and I know there is an antenna in it. Isn't the wifi sharing antenna with the mobile network?
My radio is latest according to the forum. Trying cm7.0.3 and oxygen 2.2.1, both same issues.
hardware defect
working fine for me on both and no bug have been reported on both roms.
must be your hardware defect, sorry. still in warranty ?

Baseband issue

Hello. I have an unlocked i9195 on CM13 official. I currently live in the north of England, and I use the network called giffgaff (O2). I would like to know if any baseband would do or there are specific ones for these circumstances, like os version, location, network. I have bad signal most of the time. LTE does not work 98% of times, WCDMA around 50% and GSM works almost always. Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks for your attention.
i am also on Giffgaff in the midlands. i9195LTE
running TWRP 3.0.3.0 , AOKP official rom 20170202 , remix N v0.6 kernel.
baseband I9195XXUCPI1.tar.MD5 [Vodaphone] latest for this phone ( i believe). from sammobile/firmware ( saw thread here XDA about updating Baseband)

I have the latest BTU version of the baseband installed it's from around 2015 been working fine here.
Its probably a coverage issue I recommended trying other carriers to find out which suits your needs best.
I myself am using unlimited data plan on Three, works wonders.

Any should work, though generally it's recommended you keep your ROM and baseband to a similar release date, especially if you are having issues. Are you still on the original baseband?
You should be getting good converge on O2 or are you in a remote hilly area or near some other source of interference?
Else it could be hardware eg damaged component or poor grounding of aerial or pcb to phone ground plane. (cleaning contacts and/or tightening screws may help)

No I am not on the original baseband. I9195XXUCPE1 currently. Regarding the coverage, I checked on their website and the area its pretty well covered for 4G reception, nonetheless I believe there is probably something wrong with the phone itself, I will probably just give up on this phone and spare myself some days of calamity.
Anyways thanks for your reply.

yes, sounds likely that it is hardware. A quick test you could do is pop the back cover off and connect a small wire to the test connector (at bottom level with the speaker) bypassing the actual antenna, if your signal strength improves then it is proof it is your antenna circuit where the problem is or the contacts.
You can also test by pressing down where the "touch" connectors are., see vid, sometimes it improves reception showing it's a bad connection with contacts.
This is often easily fixed by removing the inner cover & cleaning the contacts or applying a little more pressure to them with a little piece of plastic between them and the cover.
You can see from this video that the antenna are simply a "touch" connection to the main assembly.
about 2mins into the vid
should be a cheap fix at a repair shop if you don't fancy trying it yourself, if this is what it is.
