Remove Unlocked Sprint bloatware - LG G8 Questions & Answers

hey guys i know that you can remove the sprint apps with ADB but can you guys help me with all the instructions, what annoys me the most was the carrier hub app until i turned off the notification, and the activation when i boot the phone so should i remove alll the sprint apps or just those two and how

just go on the app store and download the app called application manager and find the file names of all sprint bloat you want to uninstall. Follow the adb installation process. The activation popup can be removed with uninstall this package name com.lge.lgdmsclientspr

LG-G3 Korea version to international firmware?

Hi all, i just buy LG G3 Korean version but i dun like all korean app... Can i flash it to international version?? My model is F400s10k and which stock rom is the best 1? Thank all
That's not possible. The ROM must be properly ported in order to be flashed, and we also don't have an unlocked boot loader yet.
I have the F400K (Olleh) and most of the Korean bloat can be uninstalled without root. Not sure if it is possible to uninstall the bloat on SK Telecom (F400S) without root. But if you're rooted, just use Titanium Backup or ROM Toolbox to uninstall or freeze the apps.

I solved by editing the build.prop file by changing the values where it says region, country, carrier, and language if I'm not mistaken were those 4 values that I edited, pay attention that you make your device unusable if you fail to edit, of course you have to have the 'root access!
I have the f460k but the procedure is the same because even sure mine is a Korean version
You can also just move the files over to install another dialer.

If you make the root then you can not update as I found out yesterday when I was notified of the update "j", and once you have downloaded and tried to install told me that it was not possible, probably because the device had root access in order to then install the update I did a reset to factory settings but it was not enough and I then installed again the latest official rom version "i" in KDZ format from the download mode I ran the update then I made the root and reinstalled all my programs but then forgetting what were those which I had done freezing.
Long process, I do not know if there is one a bit 'easier because only uninstall the "SU" however, was not enough.
The following lines changed my build.prop modified to have the dialer with Latin characters
Replace "it", "IT", "KT", "IT" with the details of your nation if necessary
ro.product.locale.language=it
ro.product.locale.region=IT
ro.build.target_operator=KT
ro.build.target_country=IT

LG H-540 (?) variant, root help needed.

Hi, XDA
I've been searching all around the LG G4 forum and notes, but I can't seem to find the right root method/.imgs/ TWRP for my LG G4.
The variants supported by the guides are H-8xx series, while my series is H-540.
Can someone link me to the post/thread that can help me root my LG G4(H-540) variant?
Helps and suggestions are welcome. Though I might tread very carefully with this LG phones as I've heard that they're very easy to brick.
Thanks in Advance!
You has a LG G4 stylus.
Join the "LG G4 Stylus (Latinoamérica)" group on Facebook. There is a tutorial for downgrade (if your Stylus has Android MM non-rootable).

Well if you now on LP, just use KingRoot for get root on your Stylus. Maybe this take a some times for rooting, but its works.
And IF YOU WANT, install FlashFire and those things, its not a necessary for the root, this is for get Xposed only.

but, for get SuperSU it's not so simple like install it from Play Store, you must replace all KingRoot's binaries and APK, with a Script. (LINK)
Extract mrw.zip into internal SD (the folder "mrw").
Now install "Terminal Emulator" from Play Store.
Open Terminal and type this:
su (then press Enter)
sh /data/media/0/mrw/root.sh (then press Enter)
Wait until complete and reboot.
So, if you do all previous things, you can use FlashFire and flash the Xposed's .zip

Hi! I tried to do what you told me to do previously, now the phone is unrooted, KingRoot is uninstalled after I reboot the phone. After that I tried to run the as you told me to:
-su
-sh /data/media/0/mrw/root.sh
but it says Permission denied, and now after I check the Root checker it's unrooted again. What to do?

sprint activation each time I boot the device

I bought a LG G8 on Ebay from what appeared, and appears, to be a legitimate seller.
Phone works good in UK but how to get rid of the sprint activation evrytime I boot the device?
Thanks!
You have to disable an apk, i believe it is system update, but i haven't found a working apk disabler for the g8.

Dont know the exact name of it, but it should be something like system-update.apk.
That's why I will never buy another CDMA unlocked LG phone...there are always some issues that make the phone either non functional or just annoying.
I have the same issue. Are these Sprint System Apps removable via ADB?
If yes, can someone please explain how?

This just happens to me if i reboot the phone, and i rarely do that, maybe once or twice a month? so its no big deal for me.
You can disable sprint apps viia ADB, but this will not stop the annoying issue.
im using a unlocked sprint G8 on brazil, and its like perfect for me, no problems at all
Not sure if it will resolve your issue but you might try disabling sprintdm.apk

That will not stop the activation upon reboot.
I'm having this exact same problem unfortunately. The best "trick" I've found to making it less burdening is pressing emergency call and then hitting back. That allows me to use the phone like normal, but I still have to wait for the sprint activation to do its thing and inevitably fail every time I go back to the home screen.
Sorted.
I have found a way to disable the Sprint activation.
Install "System App Remover", find all app package names that include sprint or spr and disable them through ADB.( pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.sprint.ecid) I use System App Remover to find the name of the app as by Adb command "list packages " it gets confusing and there are lot to be looked for. My Sprint LG G8 works flawless now on Vodafone UK.

Thanks.

I have the same variant but with Comcast mobile and used ADB and an app called app inspector. You need a PC to use ADB. App inspector tells you the name of the system name of the app then you can uninstall it. Search for removing apps with ADB. I removed all Google stuff and apps I didn't want. I'm not rooted and my A50 works fine. I do have issues with Samsung browser changing my home page to Google default but it did that from day 1. How this helps if you want to private message me I'll help you further.

I am in U.S. using Verizon, and have a V450PM, 20n software version, not rooted.
I used Package Disabler Pro (for LG) to disable com.lge.lgdmsclientspr and that stopped the Sprint activation wait (5 minutes). The file is still there but disabled.
The device still won't make a phone call and use the internet simultaneously.
Thanks it works well.

Yes my phone doesn't use data during calls too and i don't know why.
After the last or 2 updates before,i don't remember exactly,it was using data while calling,but suddenly stopped.
I am usint it in Europe,not rooted or bootloader unlocked,nothing done that could cause this situation.
I have the unlocked LM-V450 Sprint version,and also using Package disabler pro for disabling the most bloatware.
Any idea what could have caused this issue?

Has something to do with HD Voice (voLTE). I asked Verizon about it 6 months ago and at that time they couldn't do anything, and I think the really tried. I may try again soon if I think about it when I have time. It can take a lot of time getting through all of the Verizon levels of support and waiting on hold.
