Xiaomi and Samsung are two heavy hitters when it comes to smartphones. Are you more excited about Xiaomi's upcoming Mi Mix 4 or the old reliable Samsung Galaxy S10? What about the Mi Mix 4 makes you more excited about it? Do you think Xiaomi will be able to beat the Galaxy S10 in features and design?

I'm thinking of getting either Mi Mix 4 or Galaxy Note 10 within the next 2 months. I'm looking forward to next Tuesday. Hopefully there will be a live stream of the event.

Using a note 10+ rn until the mix 4 is launched. Will be ordering it immediately

New s-note software for 8.0?

This may be a stupid question - I am new to the Note world.
Will the Note 8.0 be receiving the stock software updates that have been shown for the Note 3? I see a lot of cool s-pen functions and advanced pen integration that I would like to have.
I am not sure of Samsungs track record with rolling back new software to "older" devices.

Most likely when we get the 4.3 update. Although there is a small chance that the apk will work on our device once the Note 3 is released.
we hope so
Definitely hoping so as well. I have the Note 2 and the Note 8.0 right now, and I love the interoperability. I am hoping they bring the 8.0 along with the Note 3's new S-Note and S-Pen functions. They are awesome upgrades in software and usability that will make a big difference for me, especially the deep integration with Evernote (finally!).
I believe we will see all this stuff in one of custom roms.
btw. what exactly new brings n3?
(this scould be our wissh list for devs)

I think it will update on Note 8. But when?
Yesteday, thanks a Arsaw, I get to port SNote3 to Note8 with stock 4.2.2 but the size of screen does not adjust. Not work fine.

Still waiting Samsung.

Xiaomi Max, first 6.4inch 2k screen smartphone is coming

The weekend in the morning, I believe most people are at rest, but Xiaomi Max will be released in two days, Xiaomi staff didn’t have a rest. According to Xiaomi Marketing Representative, Tony has showed a photo that Xiaomi CEO,Lei Jun has ended the first rehearsal of Xiaomi Max press conference with their staff. It is full of applause, and laughter.
We can see Lei Jun is one the most hard working bosses in Chinese smartphones line. But yesterday, Lei Jun has released several photos of Xiaomi Max, which were shooted by the colleague, He thought the phone is not so good. But according to the pictures of Xiaomi Max, it shows plate, fixed telephone, typewriter, etc. The boss didn’t explain where is not good enough, Maybe the background didn’t show the big screen of xiaomi max.
So what do you think? Just wait for more on May 10.

Definitively interesting, although 6.4" seems pretty huge!

Nice! Let us know.
Xiaomi max has released today, check this review: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gen...aomi-max-hands-screen-antutu-battery-t3376199

So The Display Is Less Accurate Now? WTF!

I have been reading all the Note 7 reviews, and now have come to the conclusion that the display on the Note 7 is worse than of the Note 5, Note 4 and S7 phones, in terms of colour accuracy I mean! I mean why the heck Samsung had to do that? Or I am the only one missing something here? The temp is over 7000K, DeltaE Avg. is now more than twice than of the Note 5, and three times than on the S7 ! One of the main reasons I (and many others I am sure) use a Samsung is because of the colour accurate display! Now if they take that, and it seems like deliberately then what's the freaking point? I was thinking about getting the phone, now I am torn! I still don't get it though!

You didn't copy the full link, thus it is broken. Here's the link:

I have always used galaxy devices on Cinema mode, I am now on Adaptive mode.
The sole point of this topic was about colour accuracy! Those who use Adaptive mode and stuffs use the most saturated settings anyway, you should only care if you use the Basic mode! Of course its the best display, that is all things considered, lower power draw, maximum and minimum brightness level etc., but look the colour accuracy part, even on the DisplayMate review it has gone to Very Good from Note 5's Excellent!

Anyone tried using the Note 7 pen on Note 4?

I am doing some changes on Note 4 to make it feel more "new" to hopefully last me till Note 8. If I were able to use the Note 7 pen on it, it would be great . Has anyone tried it?
Yes it works.
Awesome, thanks
It works on my Note 2 too.
I brought the S Pen out and it basically works on any device that originally came with S Pen, because of the Wacom digitizer display. That includes the bigger Galaxy Note 10.1 and Tabs.
It will totally work. Also, I was able to change out my Note 7 tip to my older stylus since I liked the fine .7 mm much more than the dull pencil 1.2 mm tip. You don't get the new sensitivity settings the Note 7 had, but it writes super smooth and a back up stylus is always a plus
Try this on your back cover:

that'll cheer you up mate!

note 3 s pen does not work on note 7
Lol @CerveCesar, that would kind of creep me out. The pens are really cheap now if anyone wants to keep it as memorabilia

Disable power saving on s-pen and will work. Or just extract N7 pen from the slot and will work!

Galaxy S2 and going with S9 -- need input.

I had my first Android experience a few yrs ago with the Galaxy S2. I enjoyed the ability to change virtually anything visual on the screen but the notifications for emails, calls, texts, etc. was absolute garbage. Kies was pathetic. That, coupled with badge counts for new emails never working correctly, moved me to go with the iPhone. After using the iPhone 5, 5s and now the 6s I am rather bored with Apple.
Currently I am looking at the S9 and have heard amazing things about this phone. Since my last Android experience was the S2 – how improved is the S9? Are my biggest beefs with the previous phone put to rest?
After the S2 I vowed to never get a Samsung again. I loved the S2 but I got burned. Anyway the S6 came along and I was pleasantly surprised! They took all the design flaws and pretty much eradicated them.
Put it this way, if id not noticed an improvement between my two phones I'm sure I would have noticed the S9. I'm certain that's even a big leap over my S6!
I'm almost certain I'll return to Samsung next year.
