hey! the simcards got detected on first boot but seems to have crashed and totally disapperead ... no sim detected , rest in the rom seems fine

I installed the ROM, but then switched back to LineageOS 16 (still too many features of LineageOS missing for me to use LOS 17 as daily "testing" driver).
Issue: After switching from 17 back to 16 the Camera didn't work anymore. I had to flash OxygenOS and then again LOS 16 for the camera to work. Did you change something about the camera firmware?

Flashlight is mostly interacted with by the camera API, so I guess it's the same issue.

I have two issues, one minor, one I *really* very much need help with.
minor: "CM Bug Reporter has stopped working" at every boot. It pops up a lot if I do not choose "ignore until next boot"
Major issue - battery life and charging. The battery drains FAST, and phone gets hot with screen on time.
Charges very, very, very slowly, less than half the speed of CM13 ROMs, and gets really hot while charging, even if screen off.
I did try to figure out how to compile my own kernel, but it's just beyond me.
As a side note, I did have to install the latest SuperSu because the CM integrated SU wasn't processing SU requests a lot of the time.

Root has been removed from LineageOS builds, to allow people who are not interested in rootaccess to enjoy apps such as PokemonGo or banking apps. A zip to re-enable root will be provided here. Other packages such as SuperSu, magisk or others are not supported and may cause problems

When do I have to wipe data?
You must wipe data only when you're switching from another rom or migrating to Snapshot branch from Nightly and vice versa. You don't need to wipe data when you update in the same release channe (this applies to 13.0 -> 14.1 upgrades too)

will be fixed with the next release (probably official nightly), as a temp workaround you can encrypt on other working roms and switch over

I will make a nandroid backup, then i will flash the advices SAR TWRP and then flash rom etc.
If i would like to go back to 16.0, to restore tha backup, i also need to revert to my actual TWRP, used to make the backup?
SAR TWRP would work also with Pie based roms?
