You can't downgrade from Q Beta to Stable via OTA. You will need some sort of factory image (in .nb0 format) to restore the Pie stable firmware via Nokia Online Service Tool.
According to Juho Sarvikas (CPO, HMD Global), the stable Android 10 update has already started rolling out. IMO, beta users should be getting it first.

Sorry that I got it wrong. :fingers-crossed:
Yes, just keep checking for it. BTW, would it be possible for you to capture the URL of the OTA package? It would be helpful for others who'd want to install it manually.

Safe way to get firmware 3.55

I want to install CypherOS on my Oneplus 3, but this requires firmware 3.55 for the fingerprint reader to work. Trying to install this through either installing the latest beta version of OxygenOS and using this firmware package has lead to my phone getting bricked twice, and I really don't want to go through that ordeal again.
So, what is the safest way to get firmware 3.55?
What firmware do you installed exactly? 3.5.5 Firmware is Open Beta 6. I have no problems using this link from the thread you posted.

I used Open Beta 8, and after I had flashed the firmware, it told me that CypherOS was incompatible, and then I couldn't boot the phone into anything but fastboot.

Official Moto G5 and G5 Plus Android 8.1 Oreo OTA ZIP file [OPSS28.85-17-4]

This is the OTA update I received for the G5 Plus.
The phone was running a North American (retus) build OPSS28.85-17-2 (October 1, 2018 patch level) prior to the update. After the update, the phone is running OPSS28.85-17-4 (December 1, 2018 patch level).

If you have TWRP installed I suspect you have rooted your device or tweaked it in some other way.
In this case OTA updates won't work.
You have to be on unrooted full stock firmware incl. stock recovery (can be found in the related fastboot firmware as "recovery.img").
If you are:
Transfer the file to phone’s internal storage. Go to Settings > apps Provide storage permission to Motorola Update Services app. Check for OTA updates from Settings.
The package will be automatically detected and system upgraded.

Phone doesn't detect the update package using this method. Please suggest if the file name needs to be changed.

You have to ask the OP, @Amishrabbit for that. But yes, the name the file has now is wrong, it has to be named something like Blur_Version.xx.xx.xx.potter.retail.en.US .

Well, my initial reply closed itself without posting, so I'm trying again.
I'm a novice at this stuff. I don't know any instructions about how to install it. I do know that I extracted the URL for the update from the logcat output from the phone on a debugger, and the URL was live for about 10 minutes and now doesn't respond, so presumably it's a time-limited download.
I did rename the file, and I know it's from an official OTA source URL, so I'm pretty sure you can't install it with TWRP. I don't have TWRP installed on this phone and retrieved and installed it using the normal System Update method.
I've attached a screenshot of the phone's version numbers. I can't find a reference to the "Blur" number above on the phone's UI, but the file itself contains the following string, so this appears to be a pairing of (newer version) (older version)
Code:
Blur_Version.28.231.5.potter.retail.en.US )Blur_Version.28.211.2.potter.retail.en.US
The Blur* filenames were only for nougat OTAs, Oreo OTAs are named according to the version you are upgrading *from*.
They can't be installed using TWRP, the stock recovery is required, as is an untouched system, OEM, modem, and other partitions.
If you're rooted, just use the TWRP flashable zips, easier...

Note that I do have the most recent retus zip there, but haven't yet updated the OP. Link for that is in the last couple of pages.

I guess Blur version works for Oreo as well. I have used the name "Blur_Version.28.21.5.potter.retail.en.US.zip" and system detected the update immediately.
Unable to upload the screenshot due to network issues..

Seems not. If you see only questions about it but no answers it's unlikely. But feel free to search by yourself in the known sources or use Google and if you find something: Share it.

here is the maintenance release note of February 2019, but actual release of update is not known.

Just got it
I have an ota to move from 17-4 to 17-6.

You'll have to rename it to get it to work automatically. Unfortunately I don't know what the name would need to be. You can however sideload it through ADB. Haven't done that myself so hopefully someone can help with that too.
hopefully they will release it soon for other regions too.

Why shouldn't they?

Back to OTA

I read somewhere that once you manually flash a Q Beta you can no longer receive OTAs. Is this true or is there a way to get them again?
Can I simply "opt in" for the beta again?
No issues with ota here.
Same here. OTA came within an hour of latest beta.

Manually flashed system images do not automatically receive OTA updates to later Beta milestone builds or the final, production version. Make sure to keep your environment up-to-date and flash a new system image at each milestone.

No and I wouldn't advise it even if it worked. During Android upgrade there are some updates to critical partitions which are not compatible with previous Android version and downgrade would most probably result in a soft brick.

Question TMO 9Pro flashed with EU version ROM - How to take updates?

Hi all,
I moved my TMO 9pro to the EU rom about six weeks ago. I cannot recall for sure when I first did this if I took the update via the oxygen updater method, or via local system update (which is what I am leaning towards I did).
Has the 11.2.9.9 version been released for the LE15BA models? If so, how did you all get this? I tried to download and install via the Oxygen updater, but just get System Update installation failed error.
I have no problem waiting for the actual version to arrive via OTA, but I wanted to check.
Thanks.
The new build is released for the eu model
and can be downloaded via oxygen updater.
sometimes the local updater reports an error, which usually helps after you have downloaded the build (and moved / copied it to the root directory of the internal memory) restart the mobile phone and then install the build using the local updater

Do not take the update without flashing the modem.bin afterwards, otherwise you will lose cell service. Don't update if you're not near a PC or don't have root or a custom recovery to flash the bin.

Are you downloading and installing the full version, or the incremental? I tried the incremental, and I get the error of system update installation failed.
I will flash the modem afterwards. I did not want to download and try and install the full version, the incremental keeps failing for me.

Which are you downloading and installing? The incremental or the full version? I am not rooted, not on a custom kernel.
It's safer just to wait and upgrade, since the incremental and full upgrade may require you to flash the modem partition again.
As in normal I mean if I bought a Chinese version with a global rom will it function the same as a global version? I think the bands are all the same. Like will it get updates, Google pay ect. Any down sides? Thanks in advanced.
