To cast ur screen wirelessly to an android tv
1. Go to settings
2. Search for " Cast " (w/out the quotes)
3. Click on it
4. Find the name of ur tv and connect.
IMPORTANT:
U and ur tv must be connected to the same wireless network otherwise it wont work
For Sony TV's u can download the official app from the playtore: Video and TV Sideviewer
it will give u a virtual remote, a mouse interface and many more features.
Using this method-
Click on the inputs button of HDMI on the remote
scroll down to screen mirroring and then repeat the steps that i mentioned above in the post.
Most of the TV's use this kind of setup only to cast ur androids screen to the TV.
Hope this has helped u.
Peace.

[Q] Galaxy S4 Mini (GT-I9195) and SCREEN MIRROIRNG with TV 3D Samsung UE40F6800SD

Hi to all,
i've this problem:
I tried to connect my Galaxy S4 mini to my Smart TV (Samsung UE40F6800SD), but when the two devices connect, after about 7-8 seconds automatically disconnect yourself (the image of the phone is never projected on the TV) . This happened while with firmware XXUAMF6. Yesterday I tried to update both the phone (with firmware XXUAMG8) that the TV (firmware 1110), but when I launched the screen mirroring the two devices were no longer visible.
Have you any idea what could be the problem?
Thank you very much.

Hi,
before to scan with youre phone, have you select on your TV ->source -> screen mirroring ?
1. set TV to "screen mirroring" (push "source" on remote)
2. enable phone menu "screen mirroring" then it should seek for tv and then allow devices to connect with each other.
PS! On my Samsung F6670 smart-tv the function didn't worked anymore after rooting (it did found the tv but disconnected immediately after showing succesful connection) though it worked fine before rooting.

Sorry, my TV is UE40F6800SD
I think the screen mirroring is done through miracast (Samsung calls it AllShare Cast) and apparently it doesn't work with "some" rooted phones:
http://goo.gl/XahGnC
As for tv support, I couldn't find the ES6800 in the miracast ready devices.
http://www.wi-fi.org/wi-fi-certified-miracast™
The information is pretty scarce but I found this:
http://goo.gl/cvzcVp
"All Share": offers mirror modes between the TV, mobile phones and tablets.
Like in Philips TVs, Miracast Wi-Fi will be present in almost all Samsung's new models (from series 5 upwards)...

[Q] Miracast to Samsung Smart TV [Wireless Display]

I can see my TV in the "Wireless Displays" menu and also the YouTube app offers to stream to the tv but it wont connect for some reason.
Anyone using their Samsung Smart TV as a wireless display for the N7 flo?
I read people are using push2tv devices such as the Netgear PTV3000 but doesn't the smart tv have that technology built in? I am able to stream video content to my tv over wifi with apps like BubbleUPnP.

I have a Note2 but with Paranoid android means it doesnt have any Samsung features but offers Miracast instead.
Unfortunally Allshare Cast is modifyed Miracast and i think thats the point (its not working for me too)
and unfortunally Miracast from Windows 8.1 does not work too.
I also flashed the stock Rom to get all Samsung features but strangely i get a disconnect even with real allshare Cast , i think i have to write the samsung support maybe the tv has some sort of mailfunction

My lg g3 could stream to television without it. So can my wife's Note3. Why can't this? Makes no sense when it has the option. Also, if you go to the "help and feedback" it says option to enable wireless display should be in the same drop down menu, but it's not there either.

are you talking about screen mirroring (all your phone screen into the tv screen) or stream 'media' (video, photo, etc...)?

Screen mirroring. My mistake, I didn't know there was a difference. I know different companies (Samsung, Lg, etc) all have there own names so I figured it was a relative term. My apologies.
This is why:
Sorry, didn't post the pic
Really?!? No screen mirror? That's just crap. Looks like I'll have a nexus for sale early next year.. We use our phones for everything. Television, hotspot, etc. We're on VZW UDP so we say no to the cable companies.
it seems you guys are not the only experiencing this issue....

Thank you for that link. Also hoping they don't remove the feature. If they do this phone would be a step down from my LG G3 as well.
I have a Sony Bravia Android TV. The cast function works.
I hit the button to cast, and my phone's screen is on the TV screen.
There is slight lag, but it's good enough for sharing pics, vids, or basic phone functions. I don't think it'd be good for gaming.

Have you tired this:
Root is required
Navigate with a file manager or root explorer to your build.prop file located at /system/build.prop
and add the following line to the file:
persist.debug.wfd.enable=1
Save your build.prop file and reboot your device
You should now see Settings > Display > Cast Screen > Menu > Enable Wireless Display

android TV and chromecast will just work fine for screen mirroring, but they do not use Miracast protocol.
Hi all,
Screen mirroring used to work fine even with DP5 with build.prop trick.
Now on 7 my TV LG55 disconnects before mobile screen appear. Mobile can "see" my TV (even two more from the neighbour) but while on connecting... I get a message on TV that "Device Disconnected".
I tried all type of settings on TV with no luck.
Any suggestions?

Cast or mirror on Fire TV cube

It used to be that you could hold down the home button and you could select cast/ mirror. (I forget the exact wording). When you do that with the new Fire TV cube, there no longer is an option for that. I looked in settings and still can't find the option. What was nice about it was you could cast your phone's screen without having to be on the same wifi. In fact, both the fire TV and phone could be disconnected from WiFi and you can still mirror your phone... Why would they get rid of that?
On the firestick version 2 it's under
Display and sounds
Enable display mirroring
I don't have a cube so can't look
Google removed mirror cast I think from either lollipop or marshmallow & replaced it with chromecast so that option on the firestick is outdated anyway & as it's amazon it probably won't support Google chromecast
It doesn't have to be on the same network because it uses WiFi direct - your device makes a direct connection to the amazon device
Your best bet is probably a 3rd party app
It's not under Display and Sounds either. I don't know why this is so difficult!

Because mirror cast is depreciated in android and replaced with chromecast
What is your aim?
To actually mirror the android screen on the TV or just to cast certain videos/pictures either stored locally or via an app eg YouTube
If it's just to send videos/pictures stored on phone use a 3rd party app to cast it like Allcast - long as you have the receiver app on the firetv you can cast any file from your phone
YouTube you can cast via the YouTube app - just open it and select connect to TV via code and enter the code from the tv app into the phone app
If you actually want to cast the screen of your phone than buying a chromecast would be best although you could probably find a 3rd party app that can do it
You could try holding the home button down on the firetv remote - think the mirror screen option is there too but like I said I don't have the cube - only the firestick so if the firmware is different then the option may not be there

Sorry, didn't find it in the settings.Dont konw how to do it. But if you want to transmit your phone's screen to a TV, offline, you may use an otg line. Out put your phone screen to TV. Is that a good idea?
Or with an otg line, the fire stick can read an usb disk, you can put some movies in it.

Otg line with my smartphone don't work.
the miracast function works on the amazon device, it is written on the amazon website. I don't know if this function works offline on firestick or maybe the amazon device needs to be connected to the internet.
miracast devices work via the device's and smartphone's direct wifi connection and do not need to be connected to the internet.
You can mirror your display on compatible phones or tablets that support Miracast.
Compatible devices can include:
Android devices running Android OS 4.2 (Jelly Bean) or higher
Fire tablets (3rd Generation or higher)
Fire phone
Note: iOS and MacOS devices aren't supported.
The following Amazon Fire TV devices don't support Display Mirroring:
Amazon Fire TV (3rd Generation)
Fire TV Cube
Fire TV Edition televisions
Important: Turn on your Fire TV device and compatible device. Check that both devices are within 30 ft (10 m) of each other and connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
To start display mirroring, press and hold the Home Home Button button on your Fire TV remote, and select the Mirroring option. Then connect your compatible device. Press any button on your remote to stop display mirroring.

Yeah, Found that. But maybe my phone doesn't support miracast. I think this is something like airdrop on macos. No need to connect the internet, but need an wifi, even it is offline from the internet. But at least, i think miracast need an wifi, we don't know if the miracast can work when the wifi is offline for the internet.
To confirm that, you may use phone 1 to open a hot spot, and switch the data off. So you get a wifi, and it is offline from internet. Connect phone 2 and fire stick by the hot spot, then try the miracast.

Yes miracast works offline, I use this function with my laptop with windows 10 thanks to the connect app.
Just activate the wifi of the smartphone and the wifi of the device that must receive the information and the transmission starts without having to be online or active hot-spot.
My only doubt is that maybe on the fire stick for some strange reason it is necessary to be online
but if you say that the function is active even offline then it should go.
