[Request] Razer Phone 2 second sim enabled; can we do it on the 3 XL? - Google Pixel 3 XL Questions & Answers

https://forum.xda-developers.com/razer-phone-2/how-to/how-achieved-dual-sim-operation-rp2-t3923159
Basically, the Razer Phone 2 was sold as a single-sim phone and only has space for one in the SIM slot. However, someone discovered that it has hardware for two SIMs and even has a second IMEI.
I know we don't have a second IMEI, which is why DSDS was removed during the beta. However, could this be used to reactivate it? I've been looking for an xposed mod that let's you change multiple IMEIs in dual-sim phones but haven't found any. They all only change one SIM. I've also found tutorials for changing your IMEI w/o root and using USSD codes, which reference an IMEI_1 and IMEI_2, suggesting that we have all the tools to enable dual-sim dual-standby. Hopefully someone with the technical know-how can put the pieces together.
I've got a few phones in the drawer I could pull IMEI/IMSI info from.

As per my knowledge, ther is two types of "multi sim"
1- the one that holds both of your sims into some smal circut, and there is a third sim connected to the circut, which you insert into the back of your phone, and keep the rest of the circut into the cover back.
2- there is another type, that you cut a small peice of your two sims , and re-attach it to a new SIM, and insert it into the sim hole into the phone.
the difference is if have a place in the back of your phone for the first type, use it, cause it keeps your sims in a good condition and can be used in any other phone, if you don't have a space for the circut, so you have to use the second type, but you can't use any of the sims separte, because you have already cut it.
now, the important part of that all, that you can't use both SIMs at the same time, none of the above solutions can make you online on both SIMs, because your phone of course dosn't support it, the phone is disigned to deal with one network only at the time, the above solutions only makes you to switch your phone off, then re-switch it on, to find your self on the other SIM, and you can do re-switching your phone to back to the first SIM.
hope that I was clear, and hope there is a program some day that can deal with both SIMs at the same time

no,unfortunately and it seems so strang than nobody is interested in it
I did sent an email and I did get a reply (in dutch )
Apparently the dual sim sollution should be usable in our universal, u cut your sim card to pieces (cut the chip out) and put it in a specialy made simcard, that fits exactly in the universal like a normal simcard would.
In a special sim menu u can choose which one of the sim cards is used, BUT they cant be used at the same time if u wanted that u have to buy a dual dim phone, which probably has two radio circuits....

thank for your replay, but unfortunatly if it has a menu ,it's certainly not compatible for jasjar ,just tested this kind of dualsim.
Hi,
there is a third type of multi sim, it is the SuperSIM 16 in 1.
Phisically it is just like a normal SIM, but it can contain up to 16 virtual SIMs.
see: http://www.duosim.com
You need a special SIM and a hardware reader/writer (to be connected to a usb port), then you read your original SIMs and copy them to the SuperSIM with the progam delivered in the kit.
I bought one, I can read my SIMs, but when I try to write to the SuperSIM I receive an error (write failed!)
I wrote many times to the seller via web, e-mail and normal mail, but I had no reply, so I wasted my money and I still need a dual SIM.
I don't like to cut my SIMs, I previously bought a "type 1" (as described by mehegazy) but I cannot close the SIM holder on my Qtek9000.
Bye.

Hi,
I had exactly the same problem like you, and I started searching about.
I figured out with a lot of testing, that using the program "SuperSIM LY-600" from the link "http://www.duosim.com/download.html", totaly solved my problem, so now I have the supersim 16in1 loaded in my qtek9000 using up to 5 different numbers.
I hope that helps you.
Beware using the 16 in one sim cloning system.
Cloning your sim is in contradiction of you terms with the service provider, and can be illegal in some countries. IN brief: If yer caught yer busted!
Oh dont bother if you have a Vodafone UK sim as they use a Triple DES encryption on the card that simply will take you a year to break before you can brute force the IMSI and KA. Oh and yes I have played with this in the past.

Hi Jolas,
I used LY-600 as you suggested and now I can write to the supersim - GREAT!
Thank you very much.
But how can I switch between my two numbers on my Qtek900?
Is there a new menu? Where?
Switching the phone on and off doesn't switch the numbers.
Thank you again.

I'm happy this hepled you.
In the programs menu, you will find a shortcut names "STK". Just use it and you will find the menu 'switch number'.
In case you don't have the STK service, then probably you'll need a new ROM which is suppotring this service.

Hi Jolas,
you are very kind.
I cannot find an icon STK under Programs folder, maybe my ROM does not support this service, as you said.
I tested the supersim on other cellphone and it works, so the SIM seems to be OK.
I'll will further investigate.
Anyway thanks a lot !
Best wishes.

Yes, it does, but be aware you can't use the same time the same number through two different sims because your phone provider is going to lock your sim .

DSDS not working on Pixel 3 XL Android 10 despite using the workaround

I'm gutted. I've installed the final Android 10, rooted, done the ADB stuff (adb shell su -c "setprop persist.vendor.radio.multisim_switch_support true"), 'dialled' *#*#4636#*#* and kept my fingers crossed..... the hidden menu came up, I enabled DSDS, I rebooted my phone...... and it didn't work. With DSDS enabled, the phone 'sees' two SIM slots but will only recognise the eSIM. My physical SIM is ignored and doesn't work. If I *disable* DSDS and reboot, I can select either the eSIM or physical SIM, no problem at all.
So, ironically, enabling DSDS makes it *worse* for a dual sim user. Or has someone else got it working and I'm missing something?
Despite the single IMEI limitation, I *know* the h/w is technically capable of DSDS because I had it working in an early beta. I guess for now I'll have to either downgrade to a Pixel 3a XL or continue swapping sims every couple of hours (or carry two phones). BOO.:crying::crying::crying:
That is a known issue since Beta 6. They removed the IMEI duplication that was happening before, so the second SIM slot (affected to physical SIM by default) does not have a valid IMEI number if you force DSDS active.
DSDS not coming back on official firmware (and maybe not at all), so sadly you'll have to get over it and back to DSSA.

Anyone tested this possible solution? I'm weary of upgrading out of beta and breaking my working DSDS.

the 'solution' in that article is only for switching between physical sim and esim, nothing to do with DSDS working or not.
there is currently no solution to getting it working on 10 retail.

No DSDS, but a simple automated way to swap SIMs

I thought I'd share this Tasker routine to easily and quickly swap between eSIM and physical SIM on the Pixel 3 XL running Android 10. Subject to the usual 'I'm not being blamed for killing your phone' caviats, this should also work on other Android 10 devices (regardless of language). Routine is here: https://taskernet.com/shares/?user=...1gNPa0H1P6JuqwklZxdYH5H7VOY3&id=Task:Swap+SIM
Credit to @itskapil for pointing me in the direction of this article: https://www.theandroidsoul.com/android-10-switch-from-esim-issue/
It simply launches phone app, opens the dialler, dials *#*#794824746#*#* and then goes back to the home screen. Simples!
I tried to register an eSim on my P3XL but the carrier asked for a "IMEI 2", which the P3XL does not have. How did you manage to install an eSim?

iirc, it doesn't show up in your about device section when there isn't a registered eSIM already; however, it is printed on the retail box of your device.

OnePlus5T options for blocking calls thats not on the contact list Second Sim Only ?

Good day all.
I am looking for either an app or a rom or anything else that might work on a rooted OnePlus 5T.
I need to allow all calls on the 1st sim even unknown numbers,
but I need to allow only contact numbers on the second sim.
The reason for this request being that the second sim is being used as a standby number at night and I need to be called only by escalation contacts on this second sim.
Being on call every single night and not having to lug around a second phone would be great.
Missing important calls on SIM1 due to DoNotdesturb mode being in effect for both simcards is the reason for this post.
I am looking for a way to have Do Not desturb enabled only on the second sim. (allowing contacts only)
I know ive seen this feature on the xiaomi red note 3
Im open to any suggestions, hacks / tasker instructions/ custom dailers / custom rom recommendations / anything else ?
Thanks guys,

Question How to get rid of locked eSIM

Hi, is there any way to remove eSIM without knowing its PUK code (Sim Lock setting enabled)?
New to eSIMs. Tried to remove Airalo eSIM after it was no longer needed. During removal the device asked to provided eSIM's PIN (I suppose due to Sim Lock setting). Could not find PIN anywhere (iirc Airalo never provided one) and was in a hurry, therefore tried a couple of default options (1111, 1234 etc). Locked the eSIM and cant get past "Please enter PUK code" screen. Airalo which is supposed to be able to provide PUK code is not responsive.
Would really love to be able to use my phone. Are there any options to get rid of the eSIM? Or get past the Sim Lock screen and disable Sim Lock setting (e.g., using external managing software).
Also, any ideas what happens if eSIM is locked completely, i. e., after 10 failed attempts to enter PUK? Will S22 load to home screen as eSIM is no longer usable?
Doesn't factory reset remove eSIM?

No, it doesn't on Samsung devices with a locked eSIM.
A full hard flash using Odin might have the option, but I can't confirm.
Have not tried factory reset option yet. From what I read, factory reset is supposed to offer option to remove esim. It is both sad and weird if this option does not help to remove locked esims. After all SIM pin is supposed to limit access to sim related features, like calls, contacts etc. It should not prevent access to phone itself. There should be a way to remove or at least disable esim, like with physical SIM - one can remove physical card and continue using a phone despite not knowing card's PIN.
OK, the issue is solved.
It turns out that Galaxy was asking to provide PIN/PUK codes for physical SIM which was left in Tray 2 while incorrectly asking to provide code for "ESIM 1".
I have SM-S901B/DS, that is dual sim model which supports either two physical cards, o single physical card in Tray 1 and eSIM (physical card from Tray 2 is disabled during installation of eSIM).
What most likely happened: after eSIM was removed, Galaxy automatically switched physical card from Tray 2 back (it was left in place while I used esim). However instead of refering to the card as "SIM2", the screen displayed "ESIM 1" instead. Took a picture to make sure that my eyes are still good.
I realised this only after Airalo finally contacted me and told that their esims come without PIN/PUK codes and suggested to remove all physical sims. After emptying sim tray the lock screen disappeared. And after reinserting the cards and providing PUK code for SIM2, I was able to get past the lock screen. It was still asking codes for "ESIM 1" at that time.
Thus this looks like very confusing bug from Samsung. Will try to report.

The eSIM is always installed as an alternative to SIM2, unless a phone has 2 eSIMs. So eSIM1 = SIM 2.

Yes, but the issue was that Galaxy was incorrectly refering to physical sim card as "ESIM 1" (instead of "SIM2") when requesting to provide PIN/PUK code even though the eSIM was already deleted from the system. This is clearly a bug.
