Dark Mode Gmail? - OnePlus 7T Questions & Answers

Has anyone else gotten Gmail in Dark Mode to work yet? Getting frustrated with all these articles saying it's out but never seeing it be available. I'm legally blind with high sensitivity to light so kind of important for me to have if it's there. Wondering if it may be related to how OnePlus changed the system theming, but then again, the setting to manually enable it is not in the client either.

You'll just have to wait longer. I know it sucks but you will get it soon. I've had it for a few days, and it is very nice.

Good enough for me. Thanks for the confirmation it is hitting our device.

I can also confirm that it will come eventually as it works on mine. Slow roll outs as usual, I had not gotten it yet on my pixel 2 xl as of two days ago when I switched to my 7t and then I got it right away. No rhyme or reason apparently.

Why not theme GMail with substratum?

How do you guys get the Gmail dark? Like is there an option for it (once it's rolled out) or do you have to download a completely new Gmail with the dark theme?

When I loaded all of my info and apps onto my 7t it just went into dark mode on its own. In the settings of gmail I looked in general and the first setting at the top is theme and it defaulted to system theme which I have on dark.

I can't seem to grasp how to change the color for every app. All I want to do is have a set color scheme and have it stay the same no matter what i'm doing on the rom and no matter what app i'm in. I adjust the global color and nothing happens.
Nice thread
Here's mine
Am I the only one having a very hard time to adjust to pie?

No, I've found it more of a gimmick than useful.
With some of the newest Roms its so fast and stable . I came from hardware buttons on an HTC and now I love it that whenever someone has grabbed my phone they cant operate the back button or navigate through the phone . kind of a security feature . also you get such a big screen all throughout the ROM it beautiful.try xylon . but if you have led setup for all the things you have notifications coming in and having the left chevron take you to your quick settings and the left chevron to notifications .I think its revolutionary how far it had come and stable it is .

you're on the right way. make sure you enabled "enable per app color" in the section global color, sounds weired but only this will give you the same color scheme for every app but some apps e.g. "google play music".some are not themable, unfortunatly
Don't forget to hit apply on top right after you changed colors!
Delete every color you set up manually in per app section, otherwise apps will not pick up global settings
regards
edit: I made a color setup for every app PA Rom and its Gapps providing. I will share it today or tomorrow. It will be easy to use since you just need to change one file. stay tuned

Stock Theme Store Question

Hopefully this is the right place for this thread....
I feel like I am looking for something so basic and I can't believe I cant find what I am looking for. I really just want a simple black and white theme for my Note 5.
In a perfect situation I would really just like the stock icons but all of the Headers and menus and sliders have a black and white theme to them. In a realistic world I would be fine if the icon pack was changed, but I just cant find anything this simple. All of them in the theme store try to do way too much, and many of the custom ones in the XDA Theme threads are really amazing, just way more than I am looking for. Have you seen any that seem to fit what I am looking for?
We have the same problem. I have been looking for a simple black theme for awhile now.

I guess it is nice to know that I am not alone at least!
How about "White Tiger", "[MINU] White Dark" , "[MINU] White" from theme store. They are simple and free.

Thanks for the response. White Tiger is a good example of trying to do too much, imo. Minu white dark has an error where notifications appear as white on white text, and they haven't fixed it yet....I hadn't seen minu white, so I'll give that one a run. Thanks!
Minu white is really close....the problem is that all of the shortcut text is black, so you need to have a light or white background....I like everything else on this theme well enough, but wish I could use a dark background...

Another one that is close, it has a greenish accent color instead of white. Otherwise it would be perfect, but as it is it is just close for me...
If you are still interested, I found one called "Fantasy_Dark_V2" that is ok. It changes the default icons, but they arent too annoying. Also, it is like $2 so there is that as well....still staying hopeful that I will find one!!

I just downloaded a few of those Eid themes to try out. The black and red one looks pretty slick, i like some of what they are doing. Thanks for the heads up!
If you really want no color at all, you can just set your screen to grayscale in Accessibility options. ☺

The current beta of Nova (5.0.0b6) can do this now. I swipe up from the dock to reveal the app drawer, which I've configured to be a box with the most recently used apps on top.
Lockscreen is boring. Nearly pure black besides notifications.
My Home Screen helps me be a productive phone user.

What lock screen are you using? Since Ambient Display doesn't ever turn back on after the notification comes in, I'm looking for an alternative. I miss moto display already.

Also for anyone using swift dark when i receive a notification i can't see app name as colour is too dark. I can see messages on notification shade but not the app name and person sending. Is there a way to pick the text color etc

Yep, it's pretty common. Usually the fix is to delete the overlay, then compile, and apply it again. Then again, other times you just have to wait until the Dev updates the theme. It's really uncanny how Google seems to update an app, so the theme doesn't work, a day or 2 after the theme has been updated! Coincidence or conspiracy!?? ??

best theme

Hi guys I'm after a dark theme for my pixel 2 XL. I tried swift dark which looked nice but i had trouble with notifications. When i scrolled down from the top nav bar some of the text was dark so was hard to read. Is there a way of changing notification texts

Use swift black instead and it has black white text fix included
I haven't experienced any problems regarding this theme make sure to reboot after applying
Also black looks more sexy than dark just saying ?
Cheers ?

Surely there would be a setting to enable color change.
Also would nova launcher clash with substratum theming
Aah okay
Now i understand
When you select notification app name option overlay in android system to be app specific that's what make it green for whatsapp because whatsapp has that color as default

If so can you write the steps on how i can do this thanks

That's not possible AFAIK
You need to use a different theme which themes the whatsapp app notification
Can't really know about any theme but you can try themes and if it doesn't work get a refund
Cheers ?
