[ROM] [TIPS][EXPERIENCE][RN8Pro] swap china rom to global rom - Redmi Note 8 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi folks
swapped my china phone china rom to china phone global rom, as noticed by the seller when buied "you can flash when global rom ....."
so
files needed
actual china rom 10.4.11 on my phone, downloaded for secure process in case of...
begonia_images_V10.4.11.0.PGGCNXM_20191011.0000.00_9.0_cn_c1a159f747
actual global rom to download 10.4.1
begonia_global_images_V10.4.1.0.PGGMIXM_20190920.0000.00_9.0_global_4d1cf1401a
as you see global is older than china...so i asked myself if its a rollback protection nightmare
i followed the guide
https://miui.blog/any-devices/check-anti-rollback-protection/
my phone returned "1"
verified in the global rom presence of a rollback protection file, yes, under image directory there is one containing "1" so no rollback
catastrophe
important :
MUST BE BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED !!!!!
MUST BE BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED !!!!!
MUST BE BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED !!!!!
MUST BE BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED !!!!!
so i followed guideline and starting to flash
important :
MUST BE CHECKED "CLEAR ALL"
MUST BE CHECKED "CLEAR ALL"
MUST BE CHECKED "CLEAR ALL"
MUST BE CHECKED "CLEAR ALL"
or you will have a nightmare if "clear and lock" if not paying attention
the first flash was "error" for global, so i disconnected the phone, changing cable (i have an oem charging round magnetic)
and taking original usb xiaomi, flashing chinese for secure, and it flash and rebooted, dont turn off if error occurs you are on fastboot
so stays on it, clic refresh and the phone appears, select global rom directory, and flash
wait 4 minutes and voila success, and reboot itself
hope those infos helps

Sounds like you have a vendor rom installed. If you don't care about unlocked bootloader and root (loosing several safety features), install the rom from xiaomi.eu. If you want to have a locked device with original rom, install the chinese rom from http://en.miui.com/extra.php?mod=download/rom&fid=115. You will find installation manuals here in the forum.
I'm in the same situation. Mine comes with vendor rom. To restore the original rom you have to unlock your bootloader in the oficial xiaomi page. Takes form 3 to 10 days... if they aprove it... I'm waiting...
How can the vendor install his own rom without ask and we have to do all this process??
If you install the official rom you probably don't need to unlock. Simply boot it in fastboot mode and flash it with miflash. Either Chinese Global 8.0.18.0 or Chinese Developer.
See the download page for fastboot on http://en.miui.com/a-234.html
I haven't tested this way, as I had the official firmware on mine
Thank for the reply guys 😀 , I try to flash China global original ROM with miflash.
Miflash come out with error, stating that unable to find .bat file.
What should I do?
This phone is amazing, now I just need to fix the bloatware.
Did you download the right file?
It should be a .zip file which has several .bat files in it. You need to extract the zip file into some folder first, before you can flash it. See step 4 for a screenshot in the flashing guide on how it should look.
Also, the chinese official ROM has several chinese only apps preinstalled and no google store. You need to add google after the successful flash. Some chinese apps can not be uninstalled.

What's wrong with my mi max 3?!?!?!

I purchased this phone when it first came out and struggled with the buggy "global" rom it came with. I flashed to the Chinese stable rom MIUI 10 and it's been working perfectly for almost two months.
A couple days ago, I woke up put the phone on the charger and it wasn't charging, but I could still turn it on. Then the touch screen stopped responding, I did a hard reset. Still nothing, now it wouldn't even go past the "MI logo" screen. I then tried to flash another rom, but that MiFlash software was coming up with an error. I can still boot into flash boot mode, but Idk what happened. Is my phone bricked? Can it be saved? I really like this phone, please help.
1/ Is there really the China stable Miui 10? Do you mean the dev version?
2/ A screenshot or message about MiFlash error should be better to help you.

Yes, I have unlocked the bootloader.
Now the phone won't even turn on and I have charged it etc... I'm not sure what happened.
Did you unlock the bootloader or it already was unlocked with fake ROM?

Question Miui 13-android 12 EU rom- is it good? can we flash on locked bootloader?

Hi there I have Mipad 5 Turkish variant, I'm sick of waiting for Android 12 and the security updates are slow as well, I'm thinking about switching to EEA official rom.. could it be done with locked bl? Since both are global? thanks in advance

this is my current rom. Device untouched. Factory fw just security update
this is the rom i want to install
Pretty sure it's fine if you flash with the MiFlash tool or whatever it's called.
But why wouldn't you just unlock bootloader anyway? It's better to do this now than later, because bootloader unlock would wipe the device. If you're flashing a new region ROM via MiFlash, you'll need a device wipe (clean flash) anyway, so might as well unlock bootloader first and then swap to new ROM.
UPDATE: I unlocked the bootloader, then used miflash to flash the EU from and lock the bootloader, its all working fine now. I also unchecked "Allow OEM unlocking" from developer options after flashing.

Did you use the flash and lock option to lock the bootloader?
Yes i did. And i removed the lines about checking anti version from the file

I removed the highlighted text from the flash all and lock. The process took 10 minutes + 168 hours waiting for xiaomi to unlock the bootloader. Then updated OTA to the latest one as I flashed the first MIUI 13 android 12 file not the latest "that tgz what was available when I downloaded the file"

Mi 9 SE - locked bootloader after flashing the wrong ROM

Hello.
I have a problem with the purchased used Xiaomi Mi 9 SE.
I bought the phone and it had an unlocked Bootloader, it was not possible to pay with it using NFC.
The phone was probably ROM 12.0.XXX I think Global.
I downloaded the Fastboot 12.5.1 EU ROM and flashed it using MiFlash.
When uploading, I checked the option - clean all and lock
The upload went smoothly and was successful.
Unfortunately, after rebooting the phone enters recovery mode and it is looped like this, it displays the message:
This MIUI version can't be installed on this device :-(
I can enter fastboot and try to flash another Rom but then I get an error that the phone is locked.
Please, help me with this issue, I don't know what to do, is it possible to fix it? ? ?
I know there are people here with really great knowledge, please help. :-(

I tried to flash the ROM Global 12.0.1 again but I get the error as above
I have Miflash pro 7.3.706
Try to enter fastboot mode and flash the ROM using the flash_all script that's insideof the compressed rom by way of windows cmd or linux terminal.
Just extract the rom file until you see the folder structure there with all images and then look for a how to flash roms using fastboot. It way easier than that miui flash thing

Hello,
I have a question regarding the latest update for MIUI 14 14.0.7.0 EU.
My phone went bricked couple of times, even after clean install (fastboot). There was something call "Find device memory corrupted". So according to one thread, I must clean install from a different Android version, which in this case, A12 and from a custom ROM. So I did that and flash Pixel Experience which is great (PayPal for Google Wallet not working though).
After that I flash the latest MIUI again which is MIUI 14.0.7.0 EU, which in the beginning works greatly. The find device memory notification has disappeared, so I thought the problem disappear.
After a while, when I was surfing the internet, suddenly the phone turned off itself and just stuck on the poco logo. I tried to go to fastboot and recovery mode, which after several times trying, only the recovery mode is reachable. Then I went to the safe mode which is what I using now.
My question is, is this latest MIUI 14.0.7.0 contains bug that making people phone's bricked? I saw lately there's been a surge of thread about bricked phone in our lovely forum.
Thanks in advance for answering my worries.
Try a Xiaomi Eu rom.
The stock rom version for Europe is called EEA.
To avoid any confusion at the level of the title.
