chrome won't scroll on certain sites - OnePlus 7T Questions & Answers

So one site I go too often is Muscle and Fitness. I get workouts etc. But since I've gotten my 7T and go to that site I can't scroll down. I can click on things that are on the screen but that's it.
I've tried other browser apps and it works. The problem seems to only be in chrome.
Any suggestions??

I just tried that site and you're right. It didn't work but then I forced the phone into "Desktop site" and it works perfectly fine. Try that as an alternative.

Disable stock browser

Sorry if this has been asked before, just got my galaxy nexus today. Prefer chrome to stock browser... Are there going to be any negative repercussions if I disable the stock browser entirely?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
Nope. I've disabled it and using Chrome since the day it became available.

can't remember the last time I used Flash in a mobile browser.... well over a year now since I've done it.
How do you not use flash?? I'm sure you have been to sites and there was a video box just empty. I can't stand that. I love watching videos on my phone.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
The only reason why I haven't disabled it is because I use the scrolling bookmark widget.
I've watched loads of videos with the chrome browser. I'm not sure flash is that wide spread any more...

It really isn't lol. Any website dev that's worth anything has already transitioned away from Flash to make their site iPhone/iPad friendly.
Lol... Awkward, when so many people think flash is one of the biggest reasons to choose Android over UPS devices, when really there are much better reasons than an antiquated web standard... Seriously, I hate flash. Generally have it disabled on Android anyway.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
Yeah, I haven't used flash since I got my phone (3 months). However, I do keep the stock browser enabled because I like the "request desktop site" option. It's useful for the sites where you lose functionality for being on a mobile site (amazon is a good example).
Just my .02
I've disabled the stock browser, no side effects, only thing I miss is the desktop view, and keep forgetting chrome doesn't have that yet..hoping future updates will rectify this

I dont even add it anymore to my builds, adopted chrome, resource hungry flash must die

This and full screen + quick controls. I think it'll be hard to implement though because they're using a swipe in from the side for switching between tabs... We'll see how they do that.
Chrome is gonna be the wave of the future on Android so we better get used to it
maybe I'm the only one having this issue... does anyone else have an insanely difficult time getting chrome to copy or cut and paste effectively? I seem to have to share the page in Gmail, copy the link from the Gmail app, then paste it where I want it. If I try to just copy from chrome when I go to paste it somewhere, the paste dialog comes up, but nothing will paste. This has happened to me on multiple ROMs. Any ideas?

Copy/paste working fine for me.
Hmm guess I'll reflash my ROM and see how it goes

The whole flash vs. No-flash is insanely funny.
People will argue that iOS devices suck because they don't have flash (not true) but when a Google browser for their Android device comes out without flash support, it no big deal!
Even look at the Firefox mobile reviews... It is mostly negative reviews because of the lack of flash, but then you read the Chrome for Android reviews and it's all 5 stars and the comment that flash isn't important.
Big LOL. Personally, I use flash all day. Many sites I visit use flash and there is no way around it. My local newspaper is flash; restaurant menus are often flash; many product review sites still use flash and flash games - well... They are obviously flash.
To each, his own... But don't be content with having less features!

Chrome flashes when scrolling....

This is annoying as shet.... I'm looking at a page where I need to scroll down or up, and instead of it scrolling, it blinks totally white and then loads again scrolled up or down. Its doing the same thing on my S4..anyone else?

There have been a lot of Chrome problems reported. I'm using Firefox and haven't encountered any problems yet.

I just tried that and testing now. I installed Firefox due to it and was just getting adjusted to it. We will see if your suggestion works.

Heh. I live in FF on all my devices and have everything synced so that's [luckily] not an issue for me.

Try chrome beta, works well for me
I am seeing the same thing here. Hopefully Google will be pushing out an update for Chrome to fix this soon.
As shmaque said, disabling JavaScript in Chrome also stopped this from being a problem for me. Of course that may become a problem of its own when browsing the internet these days. So far so good.
Well, as expected, I ran into some trouble logging in to a couple websites with JavaScript disabled, so I have re-enabled it. The problems that a number of us were seeing were limited to xda-developers.com as noted at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2380099.
Changing the default XDA site layout (located at the bottom of every XDA page) to 2010 has fixed the issue for some of us. Credit goes to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44038082&postcount=17 for bringing the idea to my attention.

Firefox, Still a RAM hog ?

When I had ICS on my HTC Vivd, I had a bad experience with Firefox, then I tried Dolphin browser.
Has anyone used either yet ? Hows that working out for you?

I use Firefox specifically for a couple of sites that don't allow me to save usernames and passwords. There is an add-on that you can install that forces it to remember passwords, even if the site is configured not to. My experience has been really good with Firefox, but I only use it for limited reasons. I use Chrome as my daily driver for normal web surfing.
I used to love Dolphin, but constant force-closes made me switch back to Chrome. Good browser, although right now I'm having a strange issue where occasionally Chrome completely locks up when on the XDA website after loading a page-- I have to clear it from memory and reopen it for it to work.
I downloaded Firefox. Refreshed RAM is same as before.
With that the option to Sync all my bookmarks from my Macbook, I removed Chrome and the Stock browser and am using FF with Adblock exclusively.
Not only that it was a ram hog. It makes the device raises temperature than normal. My fave is Boat.

I also have a huge problem with this on new Nexus 7. Dolphin Browser was locking up also until i unchecked flash in settings. I installed firefox just to get around this issue. I am new Android user and cant believe that the Chrome browser, built by Google canyt navigate this site.
I actually went back to my Ipad to see and had no problems navigating XDA. Then again Ipad does not have flash.

Browser always reloading

has anyone noticed that these forums always reload everytime you touch the screen? I wait for my browser to stop loading, touch the screen to scroll down and it always reloads. Do I need to change a setting?

It happens to me on my tablet (Chrome browser) but not when I'm reading on my laptop (Chrome, Win7).
Yes, on the xda-forums the browser reloads twice before it settles down so I cam tap something.

On the bottom left side of the page select XDA 2013 Beta, it seems to work better on our tablet.
It seems like only Chrome reloads like that. However mine does not reload if I choose XDA 2010. It does reload if I choose XDA 2013 Beta.
why use chrome?

Just a note, after testing out several browsers, there are a few that come to mind as better than chrome. Dolphin, firefox, and boat to name a few. I have flash also working well in Dolphin, whereas in chrome it will not work. This site showss cleanly in Dolphin and it is wicked fast as well.

What is mdnsd and why did it just start eating my battery?

Just today there is a new item on my battery stats....mdnsd. It is the top item in battery stats. Anyone have any ideas what it is, why it is suddenly killing my battery, and how to fix it?
This is on stock unrooted OJ6. (It showed up on the second day of use for OJ6.)
As I continue searching for a solution, I find this bug report from mobile Firefox regarding 42.0:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1215012
In short, is says it this may be a bug in certain beta firefox mobile, and Stable version 42.0 (which is the version I am using) which causes excessive mdnsd usage. Not sure if this is it, but I'll follow this for a while.
Try another browser. Chrome is impressive but I didn't like their merge tabs feature so I disabled it (right near the top of settings).
I recently kicked FlashFox (not to be confused with Mozilla) to the curb for recent constant running of a collector service; reported the app twice for this (the app kept restarting this service). Switched to Mercury browser for a flash browser.
I hate apps that don't behave... browsers can be the worse offenders here.

I don't sign-in or sync browsers. I tend to use my phone a lot for important stuff on the web so I sync my open tabs with titanium as needed and use bank apps. Chrome doesn't get all bogged-down with all those tabs ready to open.
I could just make them shortcuts but I got started on that with temporary browser tests until I could settle on one... creature of habit.

Dolphin was my main browser for a couple years but I pretty much use chrome now.
Following. Same thing popped up on my unrooted sg6 edge in the past 3 days. I am a Firefox sync user, but not on beta, just GA from play store. I deinstalled and rebooted, will check in the morning to see if the problem persists.
