Thanks for the info I know this is a newish device so it tales some time.it was this or the pixel and I've always been a oneplus fan seems to always have a lot of dev support and the value does not drop like other phones.

You can unlock the bootloader once you're network unlocked. And then you can root, and try the test version of twrp but I don't recommend any of this because as of right now we don't have a way to flash back the TMobile version if something goes wrong.

I'm trying to find away to get network unlocked

Oh, pay off your device, and if you bought it outright then just ask a T-Mobile rep to network unlock it. T-Mobile will no longer network unlock your device if it is not paid off in full as of a week ago. Anyone who says otherwise either got very incredibly lucky or they're going off someone else's story, or just like the 7 Pro they might have found someone here on xda who could network unlock their device for them. That is what I did I had someone unlock my 7 Pro at the time and when I got the 7T I asked them if they could unlock it for me they said yes.

Nice well if u can ever give me a heads up on a way thanks.i didn't know they changed there policy.i will eventually pay this device off but I'll keep looking until then.with the holidays coming up paying off real fast isn't viable at this time..I did see last night they are testing a tool to do it so I might get lucky

So I will be completely honest with you it all comes down to being patient at this point, there are developers working very hard trying to figure out how to convert the T-Mobile to the international version, if you dig around some of the OnePlus threads from any of the other OnePlus phones maybe you'll find someone who has performed Network unlocks for others and maybe they will be willing to unlock your 7T is the best advice I can give you.

I have tried unlocking my discover and I called AT&T they told me that I couldn't unlock the phone because it was strictly for AT&T. Not sure if that is true or not because I looked at unlocking sites and they say that they can unlock the phone but im not too sure how true that is.
Sorry if that was not any help but being as I have the same phone and tried the calling at&t way of doing it thought I would share that with you.

I tried three different 'pay to get the code to unlock' websites. One flat out said that it can not be unlocked and refunded my money. the other two tried to help me but nothing worked. they all gave the same unlock code, so I kinow that they at least tried to generate one. am waiting to see if I can get refunds from the other two.
its strange - I can root the phone (which I am not really interested in doing), but can't unlock it. Mmmmmm.
Unlocked - WORKING
I've been noticing a few too many people having a hard time with some of the sites someone mentioned. I've had to use one of them myself a few weeks ago for a ZTE Merit from TracFone. Luckily, I was given a working code and move about my way. This phone however, due to limited support has been an obstacle to root and unlock. I am proud to say that I FINALLY have both and even managed to make a working mini-sim after two tries.
Maybe I could help you guys out. I unlocked mine and have it working 100% with Simple Mobile and T-mobile.
All I need is the phones IMEI. I spent hours last night trying using different methods and came really close to paying only to find out the Discover wasn't supported for some reason or another. A buddy came up with a minor tweak in the way the IMEI was loading into the unlocking software to get it working.
PM if anyone is interested. Here are some screenshots.
Hi all.
I've just bought unlocked Pantech Discover on Ebay. Can you tell me where can i find unlock code or what do i have to do if i want to update ROM and don't want to lock it again?
RE: Flip956
Hey, Can you still unlock AT&T discovers? If so please let me know so I can send you the IMEI for and get this unlocked so I can use it on metro.. Thanks SOOOO MUCH!! :fingers-crossed:

T-Mobile Variant Can Be Unlocked With Latest Update?

So I'm still financing my device through T-Mobile, but I always check the device unlock app in the off chance that something changed. Today, I went through the unlock request and it was approved. No trying to contact T-Mobile about it or anything. It just went through. Skeptical, I went to see if the OEM unlock option was available, and I was able to toggle it with no issue. A friend mentioned that he'd heard the latest update was allowing people to unlock their phones without authorization. Anyone else getting this?
Well that is great news...I got TMobile to unlock perm the 2nd day I had mine. Still financed and everything.
I think they are getting more easy to request unlock on certain phones nowadays. My 6t was same but good luck with Samsung phone....
Were do you find this carrier unlock request? I'm curious, to see if it can be done with my sprint phone.

I doubt the Sprint model will have anything like that... This is for a T-Mobile discussion, and it's specific to T-Mobile version with the app that T-Mobile ships with it

How long have you had the device? Have you been using it for more than 45 days? I'm really hoping my unlock was intentional and not just a random mishap, because that'd be great news for T-Mobile users if that was the case

No, I just bought it. Paid in full. After doing some Google searches, I will have to wait 45 or > days before I can unlock. Kind of a bummer, but I can live with it. Got a good $ trade-in from T-Mobile, so that's why I bought the 3a XL from them.

Yeah, when you do that, an update would be appreciated. If you still have a balance on your phone, but it's unlocked, then that means we can confirm that t-mobile variants are getting unlocked before being paid off, which is great for people looking for rootable devices

Question anyone able to root with tmobile version?

anyone able to root with tmobile version? I have someone selling me their tmobile P6P, its payoff and unlock, but not sure if there is a difference after it is unlock.
There are already some threads in these sections concerning achieving bootloader unlock on T-Mobile variants of the P6P, which is all you need to worry about. Once you can unlock the bootloader (and have USB Debugging enabled) you can do anything you want.
I don't use T-Mobile but it involves contacting T-Mobile support, telling them you're going to be traveling out of the country, and request they SIM unlock the phone (so that you could use SIM cards that work in other countries). When they SIM unlock your phone, you can then enable OEM Unlock and unlock the bootloader. After that, the world is yours.
The other threads will give more detail and better advice, as I know there was something about temporary SIM unlock versus permanent, and how to achieve one or the other.
Search this section for T-Mobile in the thread name, if I remember correctly.

I used Twitter to send a Direct Message. I said "Good evening support. I have a favor to ask. Can you unlock my new Pixel 6? I may be going out of the country on short notice to assist a family friend and would want to put in a SIM from a carrier there."
After giving the agent my IEMI I was told "Thank you and thank you for being the best part of T-Mobile for over 5 years! Wow, there would be no us without you I was able to find that phone but see it doesn't qualify yet to unlock. No worries, #WeGotYourBack and I'm attempting to find a way around this. Checking on this right now for you. Be right back!"
I then replied "I appreciate that. I understand that normally the phone has to be on the network for 40 days and paid off but I believe there are temporary unlocks for traveling"
The next message was "You are more than welcomed! I know travelling abroad can be stressful enough and we want one less thing on your plate. Here are the steps to unlocking the phone Permanently https://t-mobile.com/support/devices/android/google-pixel-6-5g/mobile-device-unlock-google-pixel-6-5g…."

I have gotten every phone I've owned in the last 4 years unlocked no problem through Tforce on FB. They wont budge on my Pixel 6 pro this time. Its crazy.
Took a couple hours of messaging today but T-Mobile twitter unlocked 2 new phones that were financed through T-Mobile. At first I received a canned not eligible due "insert company policy". I asked if they would waive the 40 day requirement if I paid off both devices in full today. They agreed but both devices must be connected to and use data on the network first. I paid off the remaining balance and they instantly unlocked both phones. I did not have to use the unlocker app. Lot of hoops to jump through but we'll get a $600 credit over 24 billing cycles. Make sure the credits are on your pending bill. We still have to trade in the old phones.
Both of these phones have physical sims. They confirmed both devices would be unlocked for both physical and ESIMS. I also learned that OTA updates are pending with no time frame for all 3 of our physical SIM cards. The updates would enable SA (standalone) 5G. They currently rely on LTE. Support confirmed that ESIMS currently work with SA 5G and that customers are capable of switching to ESIM using the website.
Edit: I created a Twitter account just for this. Want to point out that the customer service agent was professional and pleasant to work with. Be patient and respectful. They are clearly overworked after Sprint merger and outsourcing by the corportate MBA terrorists.
ok I'm not talking about sim unlock people, I'm talking about bootloader unlock...

Can you do a bootloader unlock with a temporary sim unlock from tmobile, or does it require permanent sim unlock from tmobile?
If you are SIM unlocked, it functions like a factory unlocked PX6/P. Enable OEM unlock, go to bootloader, fastboot flashing unlock
You might be able to start here by getting your phone T-Mobile unlocked. Check out this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...rvice-oneplus-samsung-google-lg-moto.4231597/

The Verizon pixels run different software. Just wondering if anyone tried already. I know you can flash certain Samsung phones with stock unlocked rom and it carrier unlocks the phone
Verizon may help you unlock the phone to use on another carrier, if the phone was fully paid off and you have an account in good standing. Try giving them a call and speak with tech support.
However, phones that originated on the Verizon network will never have their bootloader unlocked. They have a different bootloader and signature, regardless of whether you change the carrier.

Correct. That's been the case for every Pixel to date from the OG through today. I'd be surprised if Verizon ever changes their policy.

Yes, tell you how to do it on a forum so Verizon can then fix it. Really smart.
I'm in no need of money. Just sick of amateurs acting like this, and that is impossible. I've hacked every pixel released. They're all hackable through the sim.

Claims like this without proof are meaningless.
All that guy does is brag on a bunch of posts that he's able to unlock bootloader on all the pixels and tells everyone else they're stupid. Has never given proof that he's able to. Just ignore or block him.
Plus we don't want to use vulnerabilities to unlock those get patched or open you up for attack. I'm with the others, your SIM method is not the way to go
What if you just want to tether a Verizon Pixel 3.Anyway to do it if you have AT&T unlimited data.I ask this because no root and unlock bootloader method I believe.

Not really the place to discuss this as this is a subforum for the pixel 6 pro. That said boastful people aside, no if it's the verizon version of the 3 then it cannot be bootloader unlocked even if it's on a different network now.

Verizon's bootloaders have been locked for years and years, and there's a great reason no reputable devs are continuing to work on unlocking them, it is not possible.
Unless you're prepared to share exactly how it to unlock a Verizon device's bootloader, and not just "talk" about it, please stop posting misinformation about it being possible.
This thread is about "carrier" unlocking a Verizon device, not unlocking the bootloader.
Please open a GENERAL thread about your opinion on the bootloader being unlockable.

Question Pixel 6 pro carrier unlock

Hello everyone i just bought a pixel 6 pro from ebay and as it turns out its carrier locked to verizon. I found a workaround on XDA but again i was out of luck since this method does not work after latest update which I obviously installed after setting up the phone does anyone have any ideas what can i do?
That phone may not fully paid off and if I were you, return is the only choice I would pick.

As of 2019, Verizon automatically carrier unlocks after the device has been on their network and the account is in good standing for 60 days. That this one isn't leads me to think it could be stolen, in which case the IMEI will be logged as stolen and the unit will NEVER work on Verizon. Anyone looking to return the phone would have done so and would not have hung on to it after the return window was closed.
All this talk about the carrier unlock ignores the 800lb gorilla in the room: bootloader unlock. Verizon devices cannot be rooted, period. When people say they have a Verizon phone I tell them to run, not walk, and get their money back. I'm telling you to do just that as Verizon devices are simply a terrible deal.
